1821  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I am looking to buy bitcoins directly from miners from a pool on: March 15, 2016, 02:02:28 PM
You cannot buy $100 of bitcoin the way you are describing, you have to buy the entire reward, 25 + fees bitcoins each time, that's around $11000 at todays price.

can you please explain what you mean more, what is entire reward and why can't i buy in small amounts?

As far as I understand you want bitcoins without any transaction history, and you want the coins to be directly mined into your own address, in this case you need to buy the entire block reward.

Here's an example:

I do agree it is a relic from the 20th century and I don't use it in any of the websites I admin, but if you really wanna do it, just login into cpanel, go to Domains and set up a permanent redirect from yourdomain.com to www.yourdomain.com.

You can also do it via .htaccess, just add:

Code:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^yourdomain\.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.yourdomain.com/$1 [R=301,L]

1828  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 2 unconfirmed transactions on: March 11, 2016, 02:40:16 PM
Blockchain is very slow atm 3 of my transactions this week took over 3 hours to confirm and the fee was like 12 cents us maybe there is again some attack ongoing who knows

The permanent 'attack' that has been going on is people moving their coins to exchanges to trade bitcoin for other currencies.

Bitcoin went from 95% market cap dominance to 80% in a few weeks.
1829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 2 unconfirmed transactions on: March 11, 2016, 01:43:52 PM
Just confirmed.

It's been like this for quite some time now, make the less transactions possible and when you have to do it, your fee has to outbid everyone else or you'll end up waiting hours.
1830  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2MB Pros and Cons on: March 10, 2016, 05:54:21 PM
Renewed trust in the development process and in the network scalability capacity, business can operate with less fear of being outed from the network because high fees or no transaction capacity, merchants can accept bitcoin knowing their transactions will confirm, at least for a while.

With the above scenario bitcoin value will probably rise and the halving/mining apocalypse scenario does not happen.
1831  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Domain for 5000 $ !!!!! on: March 10, 2016, 01:47:43 PM
I was just surfing the net and looked up for domains starting with bitcoin and i found this huge difference between the .com,.info, .biz and .ga and .gq
They were being sold for a massive 5000 Dollars !!!  Shocked Take a look below :

crap!  Shocked do you have any idea why that price so expensive?its just domain, and even its domain forever,i dont think its good domain for bitcoin. and behind that dot,is not familiar,i think if you use this domain, you will get hard to SEO your site.

A SPECIAL DOMAIN IS A DOMAIN THAT CAN ONLY BE REGISTERED FOR A FEE, BECAUSE THE DOMAIN IS SHORT OR CONTAINS A MEANINGFUL DICTIONARY WORD. SPECIAL DOMAINS ARE OF GREAT VALUE!
1832  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: March 10, 2016, 11:13:43 AM
Hi, I would like to buy this coin and store it long term. Could you please tell me how to do this? Is there paper wallet (preferred way of storing coins)? Or can you point me to the wallet app? Will that be compatible with the network in the future?

You can use any bitcoin address to receive SJCX, if you want to make a paper wallet for SJCX it's the same process you use to make bitcoin paper wallets.

When you want to spend the coins you just import the address to CounterParty wallet and send it where you want.
1833  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Am I crazy or is running a shit load of classic nodes on amazanaws.com dumb on: March 10, 2016, 09:57:55 AM
It's hard to run Classic nodes when the're being DDoSed all the time.

There aren't that many affordable options when this happens, and running at home may be too risky.

LN whitepaper is based on assumptions?
1835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto: "Bitcoin can scale larger than the Visa Network" on: March 09, 2016, 05:24:04 PM
According to the wallpaper it will be able to accommodate 30 million users at a 1 MB block size limit.

30 million users?
1836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Domain for 5000 $ !!!!! on: March 09, 2016, 03:51:27 PM
Each country has different rules for its domain name, some are really expensive to have, usually the worse the country is the more expensive country code domain gets.
1837  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto: "Bitcoin can scale larger than the Visa Network" on: March 09, 2016, 03:06:52 PM
Satoshi was wrong about so many things.

And yet so many people are keeping to his words like it's some kind of sacred text :/

That's because we came to bitcoin on Satoshi's vision, and we still care for that vision, Bitcoin should fail or succeed by that vision.

The people currently in charge have a different vision for bitcoin, they should instead, like so many other people, build their own alternative system and let bitcoin be what it was supposed to be.
1838  Economy / Economics / Re: Article: Maybe Bitcoin Will Grow Up to be a Currency (Bloomberg) on: March 09, 2016, 03:01:14 PM
We need a BTC/BigMac market, we need to open it for voting at Poloniex.

If someone could start working on a BTC/BigMac Index, that would be awesome.
1839  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: March 08, 2016, 01:46:33 PM
I'm the only one left without a second payment and a bot reset ?

No my bot did not reset and still no second payment, it just pushed payment date out further for me.

Same here.
1840  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto: "Bitcoin can scale larger than the Visa Network" on: March 08, 2016, 11:28:18 AM
The elephant in the room just will not go away though. The limit was a temporary fix.

You do realise that a block as big as 64 MB will take a lot longer than 10 minutes to verify on anything but the most costly hardware?

(so if Satoshi had "got it right" with the original block size then Bitcoin wouldn't be able to even produce blocks as quickly as 10 minutes and no-one but corporations would be able to afford to even run full nodes - but hey who cares about inconvenient truths such as those)

Premise:
- 64MB blocks are allowed
- 64MB blocks take over 10 minutes to verify

Question:
What financial incentive exists for a miner to produce such a block?

A shitload of money...

When we can fill a 64 MB block, or if we will ever fill a 64 MB block, there's probably no subsidy anymore, so miners make money with transactions fees, to collect such fees they need to include transactions in blocks, the more the merrier, big blocks is how they pay their bills, there's your incentive.
