Hi, I setup p2pool for my self to mine on, and I am using cgminer to mine on it. However when I start doing so, cgminer says it is finding shares but it does not show up on the p2pool screen. And when I connect to 127.0.0.1:9332 on my browser, it also says I have no shares, and my payout will be 0 BTC. Can someone help me?
in the log file or on your website you can look at the last share & see what the difficulty level is at the moment (approximately anyway, the logfile would tell you exactly w/ the new work) right now it's 793.5697319853241

How did you manage to get more than 90% of (btc) p2Pool's total hashrate?
That's the global p2pool hashrate which dictate variance and block discovery. P2Pool local hashrate is less important, you'll prefer a pool with excellent latency and low DOA instead. Thanks for the explanation! i duno why all these are appearing anyway, that's what https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=66182.0is for.

I am running a P2Pool node out of Europe.
1Gbps internet connection 4 GB Ram Debian Linux
1/2 % fee (yes, only 0.5%)
me too, but it's 0% fee , 1 gbps, and 32gb ram

Still giving block not found. Does that mean it is not going to pay out?
from looking at my logs on nogleg, the p2pool block was received 4 seconds after the btc guild block (14:25:22) it got orphaned (ed: fixed repeating myself)

fees and donation are both set to 0%
I can understand fee, but why donation? it was because if i figured someone wanted to test it, they'd probably be more likely to with 0 fees. i've had it running anywhere from .1 to over 2% donation before since nobody seems to care, i'll probably change it to .5% or something here in the next 24hrs, or maybe switch back to HHTT or something.

Just where exactly would you sell them for $275?
I bought my two 6870s for $250 about 7 months ago. Craigslist?
Isn't the going price about $100 each? =S If you can flip them for that price, do it!
I bought my sapphire extreme 5830 new for $110 a couple years ago, I imagine I could sell it used for the same amt right now

I've tried modifying the difficulty using this "username/xxxx+yyyy" syntax but it doesn't seem to have any effect.
All I wanted to do was reduce my share solution rate by about 1/40 of what it is right now. I'm looking at the "u: xxx/m" field in cgminer to determine this. It's currently showing about 120/m.
Ok... change the username being passed to p2pool. adding "/1000" would change the minimum share difficulty you're trying to find, to diff 1000 shares. This option would be the one to slow down how fast you're finding shares. Since payouts take the target difficulty into account, finding fewer high-diff shares would pay out the same as many low-diff shares. So, say with LTC right now, you're seeing "Share difficulty: 0.640942", and you add "/2.5" to the end of your username, you should start seeing the 'new work for worker!' lines listing your "Share difficulty: 2.500000"... if the pool diff goes higher than that, then you'll follow the pool diff, so it is whichever is higher. adding "+0.01" would change the other difficulty. Your new work for worker is showing "Difficulty: 0.000009" for example. This is the level of work your miner is sending back to p2pool for speed calculations. If you add "+0.01" to your username, then p2pool will be asking for 0.01 diff shares back for speed stuff, instead of the dynamic one it sends. Both of those can be used independently. Also, there is a cap on the + that p2pool will use. I forget exactly how much, but if you set it too high, p2pool will ask for its own maximum from the miner, based on what the Share diff is at the time you start mining. This isn't much of an issue, you'd still be using a much higher miner diff than before. Using + is _not_ a mathematical operation like the person a few posts above suggested. "+" is just a flag, same as "/", for p2pool to look for to parse out the number being passed to it, so don't use + or / in your username unless you are intending to use the options. So... "/####" is target share difficulty "+####" is target miner difficulty Lemme know how they work out for you now. -- Smoov Pretty sure 2000 is the max in the source. I generated some 30000 difficulty share or so by modifying source. The limit should probably be increased

Good for weak PSUs.
Bad for density and occupies a valuable slot for a measly 200MH/s.
Yeah, that was what I told someone else. It's not worth it simply because of the PCI-E slots being used.. But I suppose if you have a few extra PCI-e slots and want a decent gaming card, etc.. (ed: oh, and something that should get a much higher % back if one were to sell it used vs something like a 5830 or 5870, when ASICs finally push GPU's out)

I have more than one each of some cards. Some stock coolers might have bad fan bearings. I will include a new fan with purchase.
Discount for buying the lot, make offers. I can get an accurate count if someone is interested in the lot.
Escrow is accepted. Shipping from Philly. Thanks for looking
ebay.. they got for 150$ They go for more than $150 on ebay. I sold a few before Paypal limited my account. Yeah, you'd be hard pressed to find one in fully working condition on eBay for anything under $200 after you include shipping. Now, two months ago or so, you could get them for about $120 each.

Why are some people showing with a huge negative balance? e.g. 18Udhe at -21 owed and 115NY at -13? Was it another case of updating bitcoind, or..?

nogleg.com:9332 set username to your bitcoin address, password doesn't matter graphs: http://nogleg.com:9332/static/fees and donation are both set to 0% and I don't merge mine, so I get absolutely nothing except more load on my machine/network from someone else mining on my pool. just if youre curious about trying it, i guess.

I'm running a small GPU on p2pool (V 11.2) for mining LTC at around 145 kh/s with cgminer (V 2.11.4). Everything seems to be working but I noticed that instead of the usual 3 shares/minute on BTC mining, I'm getting about 120 shares/minute with LTC. Basically the shares are flying past.
Is there a way to increase the share difficulty my miner sees to slow this down?
It's the same. You add /x000 to your username to increase share value. And add +x to increase difficulty value. so you could use aseras/2000 Or Aseras+4 Or aseras/2000+8 Many combinations. You try to make it so that you find a few shares per hour. Hold on, can you please explain? username/2000 - that's "big shares" difficulty, which p2pool counts as our income, correct? username+2000 - what's exactly that, then? Difficulty given to stratum-cgminer? username+5 would adds to 'base difficulty' or w/e, so instead of it being 1, 2, (or rarely 3), it'll be 6, 7, 8. that's what it uses to calculate your hashrate on the graphs (so essentially, yes, in response to your question) username/xxxx (assuming it's higher than the p2pool assigned difficulty) is what difficulty shares you're trying to produce

The ixcoin client is essentially the exact same thing as bitcoin's, except that's it hasn't been updated in, I dunno, a really long time. Just make .ixcoin, ixcoin.conf, ixcoind getinfo, ixcoind listtransactions, etc, etc. Mr. T pities the fool that has been buying ixcoin on Vircurex

How do you tell it's overpriced? Value is completely subjective.
Look at the fundamentals and use common sense. Look at the market cap of PayPal, gold, silver. BTC is better than all of them in its own way.... it's super undervalued at $180. Texas exported $471m worth of hides and skins in 2011, BTC market cap is over 4x this amount

i was going to mention the added perk of being able to mine the illustrious 'ixcoins' on p2pool, but it looks like Vircurex has stopped trading ixcoins... even as they were at like a 6 month high.. jesus!
