1842  Economy / Gambling / Re: I want to make a telegram live betting group… on: June 16, 2022, 04:36:18 PM
I think many channels offer that, but most of the groups that I see are either paid or some special invite necessary to access it. Paid groups are somewhat sketchy because of the "claims" they have, and that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to produced stuff. I think another betting group or something is also reselling it. Repeating signals all over, and I think I saw that, but that's mostly with signal groups for trading.

Thanks for your invitation. I do think it's nice to have a place where you can share bets or something.
1843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Phil Mickelson Opens Up About Losing MILLIONS From Gambling on: June 16, 2022, 09:13:39 AM
I'm just sad that he has been in therapy for quite a while, but he still managed to gamble so much. If he knew he had a problem before and had to go to treatment, it's highly likely that it would be harder to fix. Either he is not motivated to improve himself, or the therapy sucks.

I hope he manages to recover the loss of millions or find a way to have a fruitful ending with it. In which the therapy works and it helps the person.

This is an article about Phil Mickelson, and it's reported that he lost $40 million in gambling. That's so much.

Happy Birthday to one and only theymos whose birthday I can only remember because of posts like this. Have a great one!
1846  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How long do you think the market will take to recover? on: June 14, 2022, 11:58:33 PM
There are a lot of people who are probably cashing out since the total market capitalization is now less than a trillion dollars. This is an excellent opportunity for people who want to get into cryptocurrency since it has been down from the top. The best approach would be DCA-ing the market instead of timing it.

What would happen next? We can never know unless it happens.

For the market to recover, we also don't know because if we do, a lot more people would probably be rich. It's just that they believe in the asset. That's why they continue to buy more of it.
1847  Other / Meta / Re: Decline of Marketplace activity/trading on: June 14, 2022, 11:49:08 PM
Bitcointalk has been more on the advertising side than a place to trade now, knowing that you can get scammed. I remember my first time trading here, in which I sold a World of Warcraft code, and I didn't know how to use the marketplace yet; in turn, I was scammed. It's risky to use the market if you don't know any of the rules or steps for you not to get scammed.

I can't think of a reason for how it can be fixed. As long as there is movement in the marketplace, it's hard to measure how active it is. Most people turn to Telegram or something.
1848  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The reason why the bounty section is the worst and most spamming board on: June 14, 2022, 07:00:05 PM
The best approach you can take if you are interested in bounties is to find someone who is using escrows or managers here in the forum. In that way, you can be assured that you would get paid for what you did or have a better understanding of the project so that they learn how to adapt to the forum.

Imagine being a forum member, and you don't know if it is worth it to go through the tasks because of the untrustworthiness of the project. It's going to be a risk, then.

Make sure to DYOR before anything else.
1849  Economy / Economics / Re: World Bank slashes global growth forecast to 2.9% on: June 14, 2022, 06:53:42 PM
Automatically, we saw a global pandemic in 2020. That has caused a surge of money in the market and the economy. That has inflation written all over it. It's not going to be of any help in the long run because the money is too much, and it may have spread worldwide, causing it to be a global aspect.

Now that people have received stimulus packages to save themselves, it has become stagnant, hence the stagflation that economists use. There's no more reason to use or operate the business because some industries have little to no movement. Hence the crisis.

I'm not sure what approach the people should have when it comes to stuff like this, but it's essential to preserve the value of your money and have a minor effect on the devaluing of money.
1850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Trading Volume an important metric ? on: June 14, 2022, 06:45:34 PM
Trading volume is the amount and number of assets traded, whether crypto or fiat. Where a transaction happened, and the factors of it are
  • Quantity
  • Price sold

This won't correlate with how much a project could be worth because you can quickly inflate the trading volume by hiring the right people. I know there are some services you could do, and some algo trading bots would also be suitable for that.

That wouldn't be a definite signal for you. It might be hard to do if you were to follow that type of indicator.
1851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you spend 1 satoshi a day, you will spend 1 BTC is 3 years, 2 months & 1 Day on: June 14, 2022, 02:58:53 AM
I think you should edit the title of your thread to avoid confusion now. I thought, how is that even possible when I first read it.

That amount of time is very close to the current hodl line: https://hodl.camp
That's definitely a great website. At least you have some idea of how long you would HODL and have profit. I think the average entries that you would have along the way would always be 3 years and 4 months and 4 days.

I assume this moves along when it's not profitable anymore, right?
1852  Economy / Speculation / Re: Trying to identify the bottom.. on: June 14, 2022, 12:27:52 AM
With the current prices now, do you think many people don't want to be involved in cryptocurrencies? Imagine the news that it has dipped so much that those who have invested have lost a lot. I know that it's just too much for ordinary people to have invested so much in BTC, but it's just that dealing with people could be a saving grace from financial ruin.

This could be a blessing in a  few months if it rallies again into higher prices.
1853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some Bitcoin Fun Facts. on: June 13, 2022, 01:15:42 PM
It's good that someone posted this because I would have never seen these.

For most people here in the forum, it's probably common knowledge already for almost all the parts. What's new to me is the largest BTC wallet because I never knew they had held the seized BTC in the FBI.

I hope there are more posts and new fun facts by someone here.
1854  Economy / Gambling / Re: Which sportbooks allow winners on: June 12, 2022, 02:13:16 PM
I'm not that active with sportsbooks, but I'm curious to see people who are limited to betting because they keep on winning. Unless there is something shady going on with the matches, I doubt they will input something that would and can be influenced in terms of who will win in a specific game.

A little bit would probably not be enough towards a ban or something. Have you experienced it, OP?
1855  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will algorithmic stablecoins have a future? on: June 12, 2022, 05:05:25 AM
I never understood people who are so hyped about one project in cryptocurrency that they would have a tattoo of it.
That's what they have wanted probably, and they want to show how much of a dedication they have for the project, and that's a way to show that you support the project. I don't know what he has done, but that's just from what I have read.

I have been a full-time crypto person for over 6 years now, and I would still not get even bitcoin tattooed on me. I mean maybe that is because I am a person who never had any tattoos so far, but I am willing to tattoo like my spouse's name or something, or a cool shape stuff, I am not against it and I really would love to have one.
Maybe you don't have that kind of dedication to anything. Not enough to get tattooed too. Some people are using their bodies as canvasses, which is why they did it too.

I hope those people have found a way to cope with what they are experiencing and experienced the financial trauma it could've caused.
1856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the comparative advantage of Bitcoin over other blockchains? on: June 12, 2022, 05:01:24 AM
It is not the first digital currency but the first decentralized workable and the founder of solution to double-spending. That's one thing you can describe Bitcoin, and that's just the first achievement. It didn't take over anything because it was the first and still leads the competition between cryptocurrencies.

There are a lot of blockchain projects in development with good use cases, but it's still going to be a fight to take over BTC. Imagine, ETH has a lot of excellent projects under its belt, and it still hasn't overtaken it.

I think the thing you need to think about it is that BTC has become a store of value asset and not so much as a payment tool. I think that's the main difference when it comes to other cryptocurrencies.
1857  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Trading: My First Proper Attempt in Learning on: June 11, 2022, 03:59:59 PM
Thank you for sharing your experience. It's good that you have someone to look up to and have a guide on your trading journey. She sounds like a great person and is probably really successful with trading.

One thing that worries me is that she has got me reading books on the basics of bitcoin. Also, a book on emotional intelligence. We meet every fortnight to discuss the assigned modules.
Why would it worry you that she has got you to read books? It's the best way to get information and learn about a subject. I believe you can get the best learnings in books, whether you are talking about cryptocurrency in general or any other industry, even cooking. You probably need to understand that you need to know how to absorb and apply it. In that way, you can get to know the subject deeply.

Did you jump straight into bitcoin or crypto trading as a novice or did you already have some experience trading in stocks, and Forex before venturing into trading in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies?
As for my early experience, it has been a disastrous start. I did lose a lot, and when you convert it today, it's even more depressing. But that's just life, and you need to move on. You need to understand that certain risks are involved, and that's just the start.

I do hope that you had success with your experience.
1858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will LUNA's downfall scare away investors from the crypto market? on: June 11, 2022, 03:08:41 PM
Absolutely because it's a negative issue thats why it can affect the investor's confidence and mindset, but I think it's not permanent because it's not the first time that something happen like this, so it will return and back to normal after the Luna issue will fade away.
I think that's always to be a case when you cannot really understand or show the fact why it happened in the first place, hearing about the negative news would cause an outcry to not invest in it anymore. When there is more positive news, definitely it will be forgotten and would be a reason to come back to cryptocurrency again.

Anyway, the market has full of potential so why focus on the Luna negativity? Instead, we must explore something new and find a way to counter this Luna dilemma, why not invest in a Gold token it's a Stablecoin backed by Gold in 99.99 percent purity it's a long-term project thats why it's safe.
You should look at it from the layman's point of view. If you don't know anything about cryptocurrencies and then you are risking money to invest in something like this, it would be really challenging to overlook a big issue like Luna. It's not going to be a good thing if you don't know or study anything about it. It's going to be hard to and they might get scared of it happening to them again.
1859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which stablecoin do you "trust" the most? on: June 11, 2022, 05:55:31 AM
I think the background of USDC and BUSD is quite favorable when comparing them to the largest stable coin, USDT. The regulation of it and how they have been founded and being regulated is a comforting way that they do it with due diligence, and they are up to speed when being audited or something. Those two are the most favorable stable coins at the moment.
1860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will algorithmic stablecoins have a future? on: June 11, 2022, 04:42:37 AM
The rise and fall of TerraUSD (UST) has shown us that algorithmic stablecoins aren't as ready for the world as we've thought they would be. If the UST collapse didn't happen, people would've still trusted algorithmic stablecoins with their money.
There are a lot of people who have trusted it and I have read some of the cases that people actually support it to the max that they have it tattooed on themselves. That's how much it has affected people and I do hope they had been addressed when the collapse happened.

What are your thoughts? Will algorithmic stablecoins have a future? If not, why?
They have a future for sure, it's just like how it happened to USDT. It's still best to be comfortable with what you are investing in and know that there's no certainty with crypto.

What do you think will be governments' response against stablecoins that are decentralized by design?
They would probably find a way to regulate it and just become somewhat centralized or become known to it. There's always going to be that "governing" factor when it comes to things especially if they have no complete control. Anyway, that's just how they are protecting people.
