Now that one is killing me with laughter.
Unfortunately you are right.   Undecided

Everyone knows Mt Gox is the perfect Bitcoin cold storage solution.

Thank you.

Holy moly! Your post makes me want to tear up... That is quite disappointing....

Anyway good luck to you and your life...

I think we all have problems to deal with, at least because I also have my own problems as well now. It's so freaking weird, you mentioned at one point you were an athlete, let me guess, you didn't have any problems in your life during those times or at least compared to now, you would think those problems never existed. Same here!

At one point the only 'problems' I had were; 'getting a girlfriend', 'earning more money', 'losing weight', and maybe 'study for this test' non-issues.

Those problems are inconsequential compared to something like 'fixing a broken marriage', 'trying to get out of debt when you can't even make ends meet' and 'daily chronic pain making you unable to do daily activities'. Now those are real problems that are actually hard to solve!

You should be thankful if you don't have any of those problems. I am very thankful that I currently am not facing any of them, but it could definitely happen at any moment and I am not denying that. For example you might suddenly get a life-threatening disease one day. Trust me, we all think 'we won't get it' or 'it won't happen to me' but yes, reality strikes fast and anything can happen.

Anyway I've already gone through chronic pain and surgeries, so I definitely know the feeling of pain and disability. Right now I'm facing possibly a worse issue than what I experienced before... I only had to experience a few months of physical pain, which at the time were really strong feelings, yes I even often had that feeling of 'kill me now to end this pain' but that is now a distant memory.

Now I've gone to new territory... Mental anguish... This one I consider even worse as it dictates how you live your life and how you react to other people... Just thinking about it paralyzes me... It's so bad... My only advice would have to be watch out to what people tell you... Someone's opinions may cause you to overthink, disrupt the entire flow of your thinking state and look at the world in a brand new perspective, a worse perspective. Trust me it happened and it happens.

I've gone from very optimistic, very open, and very trustworthy of other people to suddenly resenting, even seriously hating groups of people, no it's not due to race, social status, or classification of the norm but due to a certain action. Seriously, sometimes I would experience intense rage... Very intense rage... Due to my thoughts. You know what I would rather feel that intense rage? Depression. I would rather be depressed than angry, the difference is in one you feel like there's nothing you can do so you are depressed, in anger you feel like other people are at fault and you want to fix them so you are angry. I've never felt so angry at the world before being introduced to this school of thought...

I'll keep up to date here on my progress with this and I'll get rid of this plaguing mindset. It's brought me nothing but unhappiness. Worst part is sometimes it pops up randomly. You are working on something, then boom, there's that thought, then all of a sudden throughout the entire day it just keeps popping up, no matter how much you try to focus on your work, it just pops up. Even when someone does something, I think 'oh they must be so and so' when originally I would have not cared nor judged! But yeah things are different when you look at things differently...

So good luck with your life man. I wish for all of us the best...

Well said.

We all wish him all best and gettin in a beter situation.

Kind regards

Heads up

Thanks for sharing.
I have been through divorce and financially difficult time as well.  Nothing so financially devastating as now.
This has been just horrible.  My wife and I have seen our savings gone and 401K used just to get by.  Medical bills are piling up.  We have a 15 month old daughter that we had wanted for so long.  It was devastating to get hurt like this when my wife was 4-5 months pregnant.

I hope that things get better for you.  I never wished divorce or relationship pain on even people I could not stand as it is so terrible.  You are correct as well the over thinking, anger and paranoia get overwhelming.  I hope that you can get through this soon.
No one should have to go through it.

As for me I am just trying not to let it beat me.  Nights like last and days like today make it difficult to deal with.  My daughter has been playing and after me to join her all day and she gets so frustrated I can't do much.  It breaks my heart.
We cannot even afford day care for her a couple days a week so she can spend time with other children.  It makes me feel like such a useless waste of space.
I just want to be healthy for my family and to know it will never happen is crushing.
One of the humiliating things with this is trying to get disability.  They treat you like you don't want to work and are a lazy criminal who has not worked a day in your life.
I've worked for 27 years and would now if I could.
It is demeaning to be treated like this because some people abused the system.

Keep your head up too and don't give up.  I am going to try not to as well.

1864  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Introduction to DualMiner USB (could mine both BTC and LTC) on: February 25, 2014, 10:00:21 PM
I use one of these hubs that razorfishsl was selling.  It is a beast and maintains the power to each port.
Here is his thread on them.https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=413406.0

@mineryyyyy

Find a right //./COMxx name for LTC only is a pain, so that is why we developed a GUI for that. GUI uses a script to detect miners and ports, than use the right port automatically.

Is there anything I can do to get the GUI to be more stable with LTC only?  I am running 55 DualMiners and I would say an average of 6 of them go idle after 10 minutes or so.  The only thing I can do is to restart the software/computer and then they all mine fine for 10 minutes.  I tried setting the LTC Delayed Start to various numbers but it didn't seem to help anything.  Other than the few going idle these things run great - nice and cool 70k all day.
What hubs are you using? How many units per hub?
[/quote]

6 Orico P10-U2 with 9 DualMiners per Hub and then 3 of the hubs plugging into a 7th Orico.

1865  Economy / Services / Re: RollerBot - Alpha testing begins soon! on: February 25, 2014, 08:41:22 PM
That last paragraph speaks volumes as to how many of us feel right now.  GoX was nothing but a ripoff and they are trying to figure out not how to give the BTC back to it's clients but keep it for themselves.

I cannot wait to try this out.

Updating the thread for the day

Today I got my standby daemons working well.  What they do is slow down the api queries for markets that aren't currently being traded.  This lightens the load on the API provider, as well as the Rollerbot servers.
I've also put some work into the plugin system today to support backend plugins, which will run on a separate machine than user/tradebot plugins.  The first backend plugin to run will be the tradedata plugin, which will do nothing but look through the API cache for new trade data on each exchange and each market, and put them into the backend database.  This allows Rollerbot to have instant access to historical data without having to wait for dozens of API calls to complete.

I've also been putting a lot of thought into the best way to hit the market with Rollerbot.  I've decided to go ahead and fire up two more Amazone EC2 instances so that I can launch with every exchange supported (contrary to yesterday's post).  The whole MtGox situation is a prime example of why I wanted to build Rollerbot in the first place - to diversify as much as possible so that if one exchange gets hacked or is dishonest, then my holdings are spread out enough to absorb such a blow.  To that end, I need to be sure to offer as much diversity as possible when Rollerbot launches.  The sooner users can protect their investments (myself included), the better.

Thank you.
I am trying.

The last year and a half has been very shitty.  Ever since I got injured it's been a nightmare.
I keep waiting to hear the canned laughter of a studio audience sometimes because it feels like I'm trapped in some sitcom tv show.

sounds like a shitty life. you're in the right place.  Undecided

don't worry man, you're like bitcoin
you have your downs, but in the future you'll come up again Wink

and it will all be worth it Smiley

Hehe.. :-) true indeed! Head up! Only strongest will survive!

That is an analogy that I hope can come true both for me and bitcoin.  Grin
It's been alot to deal with.
As for bitcoin now that things are moving forward from the GoX issue things should only get better.

Not happening on mine.
That would be a great thing to see and have it be legit one day.
You could always send 1 or 2 Bitcoin my way out of that.   LOL

In all seriousness I hope it is just a display bug I would hate to see the pool ruined by a messed up payout like that.

I can has win lottery?

anyone else have this right now??   I expect some payouts!!!
1871  Other / Off-topic / Re: Terrible Day on: February 25, 2014, 05:29:06 PM
Last night was rough.
I fell asleep for a little bit and woke up screaming with spasms racking me bending me backwards.  It has left me drained and shaky even now.
I just wish it would stop.  I know there is nothing they can do for that and the upcoming surgery will not help with them but I just need a break from it.  I am so worn out from the constant pain and spasms.  My wife was woken up out of a sound sleep to this, I think she is so wonderful.  She is always there for me.
I find out thursday when my surgery will be.  I hope it's soon.
I hope you are all doing ok.
Best wishes to you all.

I know that they are working on DualMiner support right now so hopefully the five chip units as well.
nwools has already shown some screen shots over in the MultiMiner thread about it.
I'm looking forward to it.

Luke are you considering adding support for the gridseed 5 chip miner?

It is selling like hotcakes but has rather poor software support. bfgminer would be magic...
1873  Other / Off-topic / Re: Whats is your IQ? on: February 25, 2014, 04:58:40 PM
You are correct it is rare but you are polling a worldwide sample in a tech forum that draws lots of people.
If you were just in a small region your polling would show a much smaller % of people with high IQ's.
There are I'm sure people boasting or being funny too.

I find it quite obvious that 10 people on this forum doesn't have 0-80 IQ, as that would be considered as quite severe retardation.
That said, I don't believe 30+ people have 150+ IQ either.
Liars, liars everywhere.

.... how do you know?
Statistics? Average IQ? Ofcourse I can't -know- but I find it very unlikely that we would have so many of 150+ on this forum
when all you have to do is google to see just -how- rare it is.
1874  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin Mining Network Hashrate - Where is all this power? on: February 25, 2014, 04:56:34 PM
It is a few things.
One big one is that many of these companies mine with the gear they pre-sold before they ship it out thus making a double profit.
Also there are tons of companies shipping gear or that have recently shipping gear out.  Ant MinerS1's went out in droves over the last few weeks and have been getting deployed.
Also several hosting centers that have been busily building for months have now starting bring their farms online.
There has been a huge amount of hash coming on line recently.

Ok so the numbers from the pools are wrong, but can anyone explain how the network hash rate is increasing so rapidly when no ASIC companies are shipping new equipment right now?
1875  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Introduction to DualMiner USB (could mine both BTC and LTC) on: February 25, 2014, 04:52:49 PM
I doubt that.
The BTCGuild admin works hard and keeps the pool running great.
I am happy to see them branching out into the scrypt world of mining.

hey all, just thought I'd let you all know a new server to point your dualminer usbs.....it's ran by btcguild.com server admin....

https://www.scryptguild.com/index.php

lol no dout the admin wants to make coins for doing nothing
1876  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MultiMiner Remoting & MobileMiner: Your rigs. Your coins. Your pools. Your way. on: February 25, 2014, 04:11:42 PM
Profit is the goal but I cannot afford a $300 card.  This allows me a bit more scrypt mining power now.
It's not like I am in it for the short term either.  It is a long term investment for long term use.

For me it's easy to setup and maintain. It was also new and something to try out.
They work great, easy to use and for those that power costs is an issue they sip power especially in LTC only mode.
My only regret is that I did not have money to get more than one.

Yea, people said the same about the initial USB ASIC Miners, but I never understood it then either. If a product doesn't ROI, the experience is simply for "fun", and it's much more "fun" when you turn a profit on an operation.
1877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Social Experiment on: February 25, 2014, 03:58:31 PM
Very true.
I figured that because he basically only asked for the price of a cup of coffee total that it was not going to be some big scam but then again who knows.  Maybe he will pay it forward in the future.
I hope in some way it helped him.  It is the bigger scammers that really anger me.  I am out .09657 BTC from a someone who used the fact that they had traded in the past and had positive trust to rip a bunch of us off.  That is the kind that hurts.  It just happened this weekend.
Makes me want to throw up.

The only thing that you've revealed about this experiment so far is that it involves getting people to donate BTC to a wallet that you control. Maybe if you gave your real world information or you explained more about what your experiment involves, people would be less skeptical about the experiment.

what it also revealed is that people are willing to just hand strangers money without checking up on them or asking questions. and that if starman did infact reveal more info.. such as a nigerian prince sob story, or a sure bet investment. people would be MORE skeptical and not give coins

I would love to do a review for you.
I have articles published for a couple sites on bitcoin and altcoin mining I can provide links to a couple of the current one's I will PM you.
The review I could publish to those sites as well to get you lots of eyes one it.
PM sent.
Thanks for considering me.

Not unless I had 100 of these.
So far it makes me LTC very easy and low power.

Nice!
I only run it in scrypt mode right now anyways.
I will have to try this out tomorrow.
Great job!

Yea, I don't see a reason to run it in dual mode either.

But will they even ROI? Even factoring in the power prices, unless you're paying over .25-.35 kw/h! Maybe I'm missing something obvious..
