How many private keys I have to use,one more thing I have this watch only wallet on my moble electrum version ,but looks like I have here option send and receive..

You need at least one private key that corresponds to an address containing Bitcoins. If you have more than one private key you can import them all into the same wallet.

I can't advise you about the mobile electrum wallet because I haven't used it yet.
1862  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to find my Electrum wallet see on: July 18, 2017, 03:21:42 PM
hello, could you tell me pls  how can I turn my watch only wallet to wallet were I can send my funds to my new electrum wallet?

Does the top of your electrum GUI show "watching only" like in the screenshot?

If that's what it says then you need either a private key, or seed words to create a wallet were you can send your funds. It's not possible to convert a watching only wallet to a normal wallet. You have to create a new wallet using either private keys, or seed words.
1863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Sending Using Outdated Bitcoin Core Instructions? on: July 18, 2017, 02:27:19 PM
If you can't figure out how to create a raw transaction you could export your Bitcoin's private keys, then import them into an electrum wallet.

I posted some instructions explaining how to extract your Bitcoin's private keys from a recent version of Bitcoin core for windows, and how to import them into electrum. After importing them into electrum you can send your coins almost immediately without needing to download the whole blockchain.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1983382.msg20156280#msg20156280

You can probably adapt the windows instructions to get your private keys from your linux installation.

If that doesn't work all you need from your linux installation is the wallet.dat file. You can import that into an unsynced recent version of Bitcoin core on windows, then extract the private keys in windows without syncing.
1864  Other / MultiBit / Re: My Bitcoin transaction is pending, unconfirmed and seen by 9 peers on: July 18, 2017, 02:12:58 PM
ok. thank s. i will read up and use the electum . so by exporting  and sweeping , i will get back the 1 bitcoin already sent ?

Yes, you should do. If you sweep you only have to backup a string of words that you are given when you create a standard electrum wallet. They are called its seed words and are all you need to recover from a disaster. If you import your multibit private key into electrum you need to save a backup of it in case your wallet gets corrupted.

i have exported the private keys as described. downloaded electrum and tried to sweep but tit is not working. i also saw about 5 lines of private key and i choose the most recent dated one and inputed in electron wallet under wallet  - private keys - sweep ...   and it says no transaction. I a, lost . How do i just get back my 1 bitcoin pls ?

Anybody can you help ?

Try importing them into electrum instead. Copy them as a list into electrum as shown in this screenshot.

This linked webpage explains how to import private keys into electrum.

Ufortunateny nether server works for me ,may be it is because of proxi server on my comp?

You could try creating an offline transaction to send your coins, then broadcast it through a website.

First you will have to change your electrum's settings to manually select the fee you pay (and disable dynamic fees). This website can tell you the best fee to pay.

https://bitcoinfees.21.co/

Afterwards click the preview button when making a transaction.

Click the copy button in the window that opens.

Open this webpage, paste your transaction into the text box, then click the submit button.

https://coinb.in/#broadcast

That should send your transaction to the Bitcoin network even if electrum can't connect to it.
1866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can a receiver see only the one-time Bitcoin address the transaction came from? on: July 18, 2017, 12:04:39 AM
There's a technique named taint analysis that some services use to work out which addresses are part of the same wallet. They can often figure out if an address belongs to an exchange or gambling site.

This is a free version of such a service. Try searching for some of your previously used addresses in it and looking at the results of its taint analysis.

1867  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: My Electrum wallet on date and time appears NOT VERIFIED on: July 17, 2017, 11:59:20 PM
The only thing I did when I formatted the pc to recover the wallet was to use the 12 words and recover and it was so no date and time there how do I go back to normal?

How do I download the blockchain headers and will it be fixed ?

Is there a red circle at the bottom right of your wallet like the one in the screenshot?

If there is it means your wallet has no connection to the network. You can try correcting the problem by double clicking the red circle, then unchecking the checkbox labelled "select server automatically" in the window that opens.

Afterwards you can select a server from the list displayed, then click the OK button to close the window. If the red circle turns green it means your wallet has a network connection. If it stays red keep repeating the process and trying different servers.

After you get a network connection electrum should download the blockchain headers automatically.

if i use password I be unable ti read my seed?Sad

You won't be able to read a seed inside a wallet file if you used a password in electrum version is 2.8.3. Using a password encrypts a wallet file, which makes its stored seed unreadable.

If you left the password blank your seed would have been written in plain text inside the wallet file. A text editor like notepad could have shown it.

Do you think it is good idea to create another wallet and to send money from this wallet to new one with the seed??

Yes if electrum will let you send coins. However, you mentioned having a red disc at the bottom right of your wallet. If it looked like the one in the screenshot it means your wallet has no network connection.

You might be able to fix the problem by double clicking the red disc and unchecking "select server automatically" in the window that opens. After that you should be able to select a server from a list and click the OK button to test if your wallet is connecting to the server. Keep repeating the procedure until the red disc turns green, then you can send coins.

1871  Other / MultiBit / Re: My Bitcoin transaction is pending, unconfirmed and seen by 9 peers on: July 17, 2017, 10:39:48 PM

I was suspecting maybe it was the old version. so how do i get back the 1 bitcoin send when i upgrade to either of them ?
thanks

First you should back up your private key from your multibit wallet. You can use these instructions to do that.

Start multibit, select the wallet containing your coins, then click "tools", then select "export private keys" as shown in the screenshot.

A new tab should open like the one below. Select "do not password protect export file" at the bottom of the window, then click the "export private keys button".

Click the windows start button, then copy and paste the line of text below into the search box that appears, then press the enter key to open the hidden folder containing your multibit wallet files.

%appdata%\Multibit

This is what your search box should look like after you have copied and pasted the line above into it.

Inside the folder that opens there should be a file with an extension ending in ".key". Open it in notepad and copy your wallet's private key. In the example file below the private key is the bit in red.

Quote
# KEEP YOUR PRIVATE KEYS SAFE !
# Anyone who can read this file can spend your bitcoin.
#
# Format:
#   <Base58 encoded private key>[<whitespace>[<key createdAt>]]
#
#   The Base58 encoded private keys are the same format as
#   produced by the Satoshi client/ sipa dumpprivkey utility.
#
#   Key createdAt is in UTC format as specified by ISO 8601
#   e.g: 2011-12-31T16:42:00Z . The century, 'T' and 'Z' are mandatory
#

# End of private keys

After backing up your private key you can use these instructions to either sweep, or import your coins into electrum. Sweeping's probably the best choice.

http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html#can-i-sweep-private-keys-from-other-bitcoin-clients

Even the latest version of multibit classic is out of date. It's better to use electrum because it has an active dev.

version is 2.8.3 download from electrum.org What version would you recomend?

That's the latest version that you are running. Did you use a password when you created your wallet, or did you leave the password field blank?

If you left the password blank you should be able to open the default_wallet file in the appdata\Electrum folder and read the seed in it.

To open that folder copy the line of text below, click the windows start button, paste the text into the search box, then press your enter key.

%appdata%\Electrum
1874  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which exchanges allow fiat withdraw? on: July 17, 2017, 10:02:26 PM
Gemini is another one that lets you withdraw fiat. It's not got huge volume but it's heavily regulated so unlikely to scam you.

There is also itBit where you can sell and withdraw through its exchange if you are a normal user, or sell and withdraw though using its OTC service if you are a whale.

What version of electrum are you using, and where did you download its installer from?

It should tell you the version in the electrum window title bar. If it doesn't you can find the version by clicking "help", then selecting "about" in the drop down menu that appears.

..I use multibit wallet version.5.16 and i sent 1 Bitcoin on Saturday  to my localbitcoin wallet address and today is Monday and it has not been received

i assume you mean you are using multibit classic version 5.16. It's out of date and can send a type of transaction the network no longer accepts.

You can choose to upgrade to the latest version of multibit classic, but the maximum fee it can pay is often too low to get fast confirmations if the network's overloaded. The devs aren't likely to fix that problem, so you are better off switching to using the electrum wallet.

The latest version of multibit classic is available here.

Contact quickseller or macbook-air and offer a small payment to get it confirmed. They don't charge much and can both get f2pool to confirm zero fee transactions. Macbook-air runs the pool and quickseller has access to it.

If you don't move your coins in your Electrum Wallet come August 1st they will be spendable on either chain (if there is a fork). However, Electrum won't split them automatically, you will have to follow the instructions on the page I linked to if you want to split them.

http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/hardfork.html?highlight=fork

Aren't they simulating hardfork detection though? and this feature should be available on 2.9.0 which should get released in the upcoming days.

The version 2.9 release notes say it will have automatic fork detection, but I don't know exactly when installers will be released. There's only two weeks to go before August 1, and unexpected bugs could delay the release schedule.

But why my wallet has seed option disabled (and no seed icon on bottom right) ?And how can I see my seed?

Click "wallet" in the menu bar at the top of electrum's GUI, then click "seed" in the drop down list that appears.

If "seed" is greyed out in the drop down list as shown in this screenshot your wallet might be watching only.

Is "seed" greyed out in the drop down list in your wallet?
