1881  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC is dead. The plan is a shift to Bitcoin Cash. on: February 14, 2018, 06:35:55 PM
BTC can not switch to BCH even if it is dead. Smartcontract passes ETH. Nobody can stand in front of ETH POS.
I guess you haven't heard of Bitcoin smart contracts yet.

I guess you haven't heard of how wildly difficult its going to be to program one... for regular devs even learning solidity is hard, let alone native bitcoin code.
Lets see how third party implementations like IVY work first...
There is no such thing as "native Bitcoin code". Its software was written in C++, one of the most common programming languages in the world. Also, no developer worth their salt would have any problem with picking up an extra language such as Solidity.
1882  Other / Off-topic / Re: Suggestion: Bitcoin / Altcoin mixers website on: February 14, 2018, 06:30:10 PM
Average fees are normally between 0 and 3%.

Afaik, if you wanted to mix an altcoin, I think it'd be more likely people would use shapeshift.io to convert it to bitcoin and convert it back at a later time as shapeshift is quite a quick exchange with no sign up options everything's quite anonymous.

There are sutes particularly like chipmixer who round down payments to the closest mbtc and take the extra btc as a donation/tip.
Converting sites like Shapeshift and Changelly allow for mixing through anonymous coins such as Monero as well. The former has teamed up with BCash apparently, make of this what you will.
1883  Other / Off-topic / Re: What crypto will pump in 2018 on: February 14, 2018, 06:28:02 PM
All of them. Until Bitcoin reaches hundreds of thousands, the market crashes in a similar fashion to the Dot Com bubble and then goes back up while leaving all the worthless shitcoins in the dust, along with the shattered hopes and dreams of the frenzied sheeple who buy into every hype without understand what they are buying.

P.S. This is the wrong forum for speculations.
1884  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you believe in god? on: February 14, 2018, 06:25:31 PM
I don't believe in God and even if there would be a God, us people would never be able to really grasp the idea of something so big and we definitely wouldn't have stories like the bible or the quran telling us God's word exactly lol, those are fairy tales written to control the masses and giving absolute powers to the church and religious people. Wake up people, you don't need some book to be a good person.

The point isn't to grasp the idea of God. The point is to believe that He exists, and to believe what He says.

You said, "... us people would never be able to really grasp the idea of something so big," so why would we have or not have stories? If God is so big, can't he cause stories to exist among us if He wants?

How do we know if a story is a "God story?" We know it if we compare the story to things that happen naturally, and see if the story is something that couldn't happen without God's intervention. But it takes a bit of study if you want to do it by scholarly application.

Something as important as is understanding the Word of God is important, isn't it?

Cool
Well, if there truly was a God and God created everything, then nothing could take place without God's intervention. In that case you could pry all you want and never be able to tell if something could possibly happen without God's intervention, since all your prying would be a direct result of it.

But God aside, how can we truly be sure to understand any word? From a empirical perspective all that I do is recognize patterns and respond to them. I have no clue what anything that you or any other person truly means when they use language and can only assume that you responding to patterns similarly as I would would mean that you have a similar experience of the world. That assumption is powerful from a utility aspect, but there's ultimately no basis to it. So if I wanted to believe that we derive the same (or even just similar) meaning from the same words I could only go off of faith.

After BTC dumped so hard, it was just a matter oft time until BCH started trying to overtake again. It is rather probable that this pump is just starting and could geht BCH close to 1:1 for BTC with current weakness and high amount oft free capital!

Haha! wimp.

If you see jbreher on the train he or she is not invited . die bch die

I'm really curious to see how BTrash plays out now that even Microsoft denounced it.
1886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ripple Going To Reach 10,000$ By 2020? on: February 14, 2018, 06:12:36 PM
I agree,
max value would be 200$
That would mean a market cap of $20 Trillion, which is way too high for XRP.
1887  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Money can buy happiness? on: February 14, 2018, 05:31:16 PM
Money can make everything nowadays exept return your ages. You can't be happy without money because you will only complaining about problems everytime.
It seems like this might change in the future. Rejuvenation research, head transplants, artificial organs, cure of diseases, research into aging, digitalizing human consciousness etc. are all gaining traction.
1888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you even read whitepaper bro? on: February 14, 2018, 05:29:55 PM
I do read whitepaper of an ICO but  i give focus only to those whitepapers with an interesting idea. You must know clearly what is the purpose of the project and how will the team handle their project to be successful. What i love in reading whitepaper is it give me a lot of information about this business. So guys don't just ignore whitepapers it gives a lot of informations.
Good luck with whitepaper mate. With a lot of ICOs with prospect these days and the fact that whitepapers can easily be dubbed, I usually do not care much about it unless I just need to make a reference to something or probably crosscheck something I really need to know. However, once I am not pleased with the devs or those behind the project, which is where I put a full stop. See it this way, after spending your time reading a whitepaper, and then finding out the team does not qualify holding your penny, which would be a waste of precious time.
You can tell from reading the Whitepaper if the devs know what they are doing and have a sustainable plan or if it's just a generic text flooded with buzzwords but void of substance. The WP is what decides if an ICO is a longterm hold or just a shortterm flip.

Good job willingly entering yourself into a digital prison cucks!

Where do you think that you can go with your silver coins?

https://reason.com/archives/2015/11/27/cops-now-take-more-than-robbers

You should have spent more than 2 seconds thinking that post through.  In terms of civil asset forfeiture, bitcoin is non-fungible and everyone's coins will be tainted in some manner, so the govt can arbitrarily label anyone they want as a criminal and then steal your funds.  There is no reason whatsoever for a non-fungible currency to exist besides the creation of a digital prison.

There's still counterparty risk involved if you consider the possibility of either the cost of synthesizing silver dropping significantly or silver becoming worthless due to the emergence of a better material in the future. And if you believe that this risk is nil you're deluding yourself.

Bullshit.  Humans are not inventing magical infinite energy machines to transmute pure energy conjured from thin air into matter.  It requires two neutron stars colliding to make silver and gold.  Even if you make believe humans are going to turn into the living gods you claim, it's definitely not happening in your lifetime or several ones after.  That was by far the worst disinfo attempt I've ever seen to try and shill for digital prison cryptocurrencies and against sound money like silver and gold.
Just because gold was created in neutron star collisions doesn't mean that it's the only way for it to be created. By your argument it would be impossible to bake a cake because all the materials came from the big bang, which we are no where close to replicating. And I'm pretty sure that what I've had earlier was some great fucking cake.
1891  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you do for $5 of bitcoins? on: February 14, 2018, 03:50:31 PM
Look at this! 5$ of bitcoins!
Now we have to pay 5$ fee for transactions of bitcoins
Imagine what will happen 10 years after my post!
Lightning Network and other second-layer upgrades will have happened and transactions will be instantaneous and free. Also, the $5 worth of BTC from this thread would be worth tens if not hundreds of millions today.
1892  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 14, 2018, 03:38:39 PM
The issue in my opinion is all crypto ETFs should be crypto (as opposed to fiat) backed.

Valueless tokens backed by other valueless tokens?  Yea, that sounds like a great monetary system.  You people are high on your own koolaid now.  You're typing illogical nonsense to try and deceive 90yr old retirees into buying your valueless tokens and started believing your own lies.  It's going to be hilarious when silver and gold obliterate these things and all the imaginary, valueless tokens implode to nothing.

What is silver backed by?

What kind of idiotic question is that?  "Backing" means you're holding a fucking IOU.  If you have a physical commodity money, you have removed middlemen and counterparty risk and are not dealing in worthless IOUs.  Bitcoin on the other hand is just a centralized, permissioned ledger with built-in middlemen and doesn't remove counterparty risk.  It's like willingly admitting yourself into a prison where you have to bribe the transaction validators in order to spend your own funds.  Since it's non-fungible, the govt can then just declare you an enemy of the state and bar you from transacting at all.  Good job willingly entering yourself into a digital prison cucks!

There's still counterparty risk involved if you consider the possibility of either the cost of synthesizing silver dropping significantly or silver becoming worthless due to the emergence of a better material in the future. And if you believe that this risk is nil you're deluding yourself.

I think SETI is just searching for signals and does not send them. But you have a valid point there Smiley

seti is search only.
and we are sending out massive radiowave signals constantly and in all directions for more than a century now.
Are there any emitters that really cover "all directions"? There's infinitely many of them (directions), so pointed "beams" would cover virtually nothing at sufficiently large distances.
1894  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are your favourite theory/paradox? (Preferably scientific). on: February 14, 2018, 03:31:28 PM
Am going to go with Moravec's paradox:

Moravec's paradox is the discovery by artificial intelligence and robotics researchers that, contrary to traditional assumptions, high-level reasoning requires very little computation, but low-level sensorimotor skills require enormous computational resources. The principle was articulated by Hans Moravec, Rodney Brooks, Marvin Minsky and others in the 1980s. As Moravec writes, "it is comparatively easy to make computers exhibit adult level performance on intelligence tests or playing checkers, and difficult or impossible to give them the skills of a one-year-old when it comes to perception and mobility."[1]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moravec%27s_paradox
It's remarkably difficult to actually move if you really try to think of all the steps that you take in making it work. Which is part of why I'm fascinated by people who believe that they can't ever pick up an instrument, Mathematics, languages, or any other skill. You don't see babies giving up when they fall down after a failed attempt at walking.
1895  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are your favourite theory/paradox? (Preferably scientific). on: February 14, 2018, 03:29:15 PM
My favorite is the predestination paradox and my favorite take on this was on Robert Heinlein’s short story called “All you Zombies”. It was adapted into film and titled “Predestination”
(Sings I’m my own grandpa in the background)

The trailer says "You will love this film". Guess they really have a time machine. Tongue

Added it to the list.

Predestination is a brilliant movie, one of my favourites actually. If you like Predestination, you'll also like Netflix's new series "Dark", it's a German language film but has been dubbed, or subbed. Either way, it's brilliant. The Man from Earth is also a good movie with a similar theme.
I'll go with the native dub, since translations usually lose a lot of nuance. Thankfully I speak German well enough to watch this one without translations. I've heard about the Man from Earth but still haven't watched it. Is the 2017 movie a sequel? And if so, is it worth watching as well?

I've read about the sequel, but haven't got around to watch it yet. Honestly I prefer the German dub of Dark as sometimes the English voices sound too excessive. Dark starts off relatively slow, but by the end you'll be glad you watched it, it is beautifully written and masterfully shot. You might also like The Time Traveller's Wife, Interstellar, Pandorum and if you watch anime, then Noein. These are all related to time travel, parallel universes and the like, and all are great in their own way, particularly Interstellar and The Time Traveller's Wife.
I've watched Noein and Interstellar, both of which I enjoyed quite a lot. Will add the rest to my list.
1896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: February 14, 2018, 03:22:43 PM
Does anyone use Monaco card for its designed purpose? I would like to understand feedbacks of practical uses of Monaco card . How much is the real fees? and where is card accepting in reality.

The real fees are exactly as stated. The company largely makes money off of the hidden fees that retailers, not consumers pay (at least explicitely). Then there are the fees for withdrawals and exchanges beyond the monthly allowance which are in line with the markets.

I don't see the argument for an alien race that is beyond our current capacities to give enough of a fuck to come and destroy us. But even so, I'll gladly take delays in finding any positive or neutral aliens in exchange for upgrading our financial tools. The latter will inevitably help accelerate progress, while the former would be a gamble. The choice should be obvious.

Hello Dev!

Why My not stake updating, I've joined campaign last week..and participate on
facebook, twitter and here also..but not showing any update stake on my account.??
Hello!

The team is currently very busy with the ICO (negotiating with exchanges for listing for example), so stakes take longer than usual to update. Rest assured that you will get your fair share regardless of what you can see in the dashboard right now. When the ICO ends all stakes will be double checked to make sure that everybody gets what they deserve.
