So here we go to game 5.

It would be nice if we can bet early so we will not miss the opportunity.
There's no confirmation yet if Nicholson will be able to play in game 5, and this is the latest update.

Andrew Nicholson unsure if he'll be fit to play in Game Five

Quote
ANDREW Nicholson is non-committal on a possible return in Game Five of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals.

The Dragons were forced to play without an import on Friday after Nicholson suffered a sprained ankle in their loss to Barangay Ginebra in Game Three.

The 33-year-old import wore a protective boot in his left foot and was in street clothes when he showed up for Game Four, which the Dragons won even without him, 94-86, to even the series at two game apiece.

No betting odds release yet.

Anyone see the game between the Pacers and the Sixers? no Joel, but they took the lead majority of the game, until it was down in the 4 minute mark wherein the Pacers take a 4 point lead.

However, they force several turn over and tie the score and force OT. And we all know that when the team that chases and force that OT, they usually have the momentum and so this what happen to them, Pacers got tired the whole regular quarters and then the home team has the final push, 129-126 score.

That's mainly the reason why my bets lost, who would've thought that without Joel Embiid, the Sixers will still get the win at the end of the day especially if they are against the Pacers. The latter team got the advantage of course because Joel is not around and they will prevail when it comes to intense times that needed them to step up, and they will always take advantage of anything while the other team is undermanned just like earlier.

Same thing with the Sacramento Kings, they lost against the Hawks that has no Clint Capela on the hardwood. There are some times that they could've lost the games but they haven't, just this time when they got the advantage as well.
1883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 05, 2023, 03:30:28 PM
This bet will probably go through because even if you gave a -5 handicap to the home team, they will still win the game and that's almost guaranteed because they are now leading the game with a 30+ points. Quite surprised by the game actually because I was expecting the opposite thing where the Celtics leads the game and not the other way around.
It was definitely unexpected to see them take down a team sitting at the top of the standings by a huge margin. At the start, I was just hoping they get a good early lead and use that lead to keep it close.

Funny thing is that if they have managed to defeat a much heavy and stronger team like the Boston Celtics then I bet they won't be having a hard time against the Orlando Magic earlier where they have SGA on their line-up but that wasn't the case as it turns out that the Thunder lost. I may have no evidence but it's somewhat clear that the Celtics-Thunder match-up was cooked. Any thoughts about that game?
1884  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: January 05, 2023, 04:12:01 AM
LOL.. a few days back, Errol Spence posted this in Twitter:

https://twitter.com/ErrolSpenceJr/status/1608830906516779011

The post only hints that he will be back in the ring by April 2023. But gives no further clue on who will be the challenger and where the fight will take place. Also, the exact date is not given (posted as "April Xx").

And more interestingly, he posted another tweet, in reply to a poll put up by another user on the likely opponent:

https://twitter.com/ErrolSpenceJr/status/1608831449205182474

The results from the poll (3,583 votes till now) are as follows: Thurman- 48%, Crawford- 35.5%, Boots- 9.1%, Stanionis- 7.4%.

So does it mean that Spence is going to fight Thurman now? or he is gauging what the public opinion is and fortunately it was a hit for those who voted because they want Thurman to be his next opponent.

And it seems that they accepted that he won't be fighting Crawford or Ennis next because of the high risk low reward for him.

So hopefully he has finalized his decision to fight Thurman this April.

He's just making the public more confused on his aim and get them hyped by pretending to face any boxer who will get most votes in his poll. Truth is, he is just delaying his fight against Thurman and we should not forget that this is a mandatory fight too, so that means fighting Thurman is almost inevitable in his side except if he goes for Boots or Crawford? We already know the score between them as Spence chances to win are not that strong. Maybe Spence is aiming for the April Fools Cheesy
Yeah, probably he is trying to mislead the public with this kind of polls and maybe he is weighing what the fans wanted to see for him. And it seems that we have fallen for his trap as the votes goes to Thurman. How quickly though we forget that we all wanted Crawford for him but it seems that the news has died down and we are settled for the next best option and if which there is hype but we all know that Thurman has a long rest and probably have ring rust and that will be advantageous to Spence and that might be his safe fight next in April for all we know.

Let's just forget the Crawford vs Spence unification for now because we already hoped for it but unfortunately, we as the fans haven't got the chance to see the fight because Spence and Al wasn't interested to materialize the fight, it was all a front that they are not afraid but when the time came that they need to decide, they suddenly rejected Crawford the fight with some annoying reasons that doesn't make any sense.

Now, Boots Ennis's name has surfaced that Errol Spence might choose him instead of Keith Thurman. In my opinion, Spence won't risk his status in that fight because Ennis is not an regular boxer and if you've watched some of his fight, you can tell that Spence will have a hard time. In the end, Spence will have to face Thurman because this a mandatory fight.

Ryan Garcia taking aim at Tank and says that he will finished him in 2 rounds, hehehe

Quote
“Prediction for the fight – I say I'll beat him in about two rounds,” Garcia told The Joe Pomp Show.

https://www.boxingscene.com/ryan-garcia-predicts-hell-ko-tank-2-rounds-hes-never-faced-adversity-risk-ring--171581

Ryan already hyping himself in this fight, saying that he will finished him in 2 rounds. I doubt though, Davis is known to be very cautious in the early rounds of his fight, just trying to figure out his opponents before making any adjustments. Specially if his opponent is someone of a knock out artist, just like in the Romero fight wherein he started very slow and trying not to get caught with big punch early. And we wanted the fight a bit longer, so that they will bring the best out of this two boxers.

Big words for a young man that hasn't yet fought any tough opponents in his whole career and saying that he can finish a fight in mere 2 rounds against Tank Davis. Now, I know that he's just trying to hype himself and to market their future fight even though it's not yet fixed but those words are too far from reality because Davis is no ordinary boxer that he can defeat that easily. He may have the size but the IQ belongs to the title holder.
1886  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 04, 2023, 05:16:21 AM

That is common because they don't have any strings to pull or that their promoter has no ties with the governing bodies or committees that will get the outcome to their favor, in those cases, they already know what would be the outcome and that the result will not be in their favor. To sum it up, almost all sports industries have the same problems because this is a multi-millions sports after all, we just got to be accustomed by it.

In some cases, they can not do something about it but there are promoters for that event that will surely use someone to make the fight in their favor and that task was always on the referee's decision-making, well there is recent news that a referee has recently admitted to cheating the knockout count for Pacquaio and prolonging the count because he is a Filipino well there are surely different aspect for the said cheating and allowing Manny Pacquiao to rest a bit and that Referee was Carlos Padilla so in this recent statement referee is surely prone to commit cheating for their favorite boxer, but if the fight is dominant enough are there are no chance for the following to make that cheat then there is no need to worry about something, but then if the fight was close then it can easily manipulated by the referee of the judges,

Yep I agree, They certainly have power to make it an unfair fight if they side in their favorite boxer. Even prolonging a count by a fraction of a second could be unfair to the match since every millisecond count in a knockout. That kind of unfairness couldn't be caught easily and I believe that it needs to make the referee admit or have a very solid video evidence that it was performed during the match. It could be the same on football where referee power is so strong that they can instantly raise up the violation card they want to give and it is according to their perspective.

It's truly embarrassing to know that these kind of stunts are getting common these days, I mean I know that promoters are starting to become more greedy to get their cows some favor but buying a referee and a judge to make the situation certain is quite too far already. Yet the governing bodies and committees are turning to a blind eye because even them have also participated these stunts as they are also getting some benefits about these things.
1887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 04, 2023, 03:48:18 AM
Hopefully, they can still win games without Zion on the lineup and proved that they are a different team this season as they are one of the teams on top right now in a very competitive West.

They can still win but it will be very hard. Without the two stars, only McCollum will be taking the lead to the young players left on the roster. It is just a few weeks before Zion will be back. They will be down a few games, but they will be able to gain it back when he comes back with Ingram.

Any reactions on Donovan Mitchell getting drug tested after an explosive performance? I know it is an incredible feat but I do not think he needs to be on drugs to be able to achieve it.

https://twitter.com/spidadmitchell/status/1610336026437865472?s=20&t=JEI7DwRGRMy2v4Y0nQKqMw

Yes, it will be a hard task for McCollum to lead the team and bring a W without the help of Zion. Brandon Ingram's return is still unknown as there's no timetable laid about him and Zion might be the first one who will recover first before him. But I guess the Pelicans can still handle their situation impressively even without their 2 stars, it's just a few weeks though, they won't be falling that steep as Zion and him managed to get the team at the top before the injury happened.

I don't know what is the basis why they needed to drug test Donovan Mitchell, is it just because he managed to put a 70 points in a game? That's unreasonable. Luka Magic put up 60+ but they were silent. I guess 70+ is where they drew the line to get a player tested for drugs. Just kidding! Mitchell is a great player, NBA should test someone if that's an ordinary player who suddenly achieved a 50+ career high.
1888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 04, 2023, 03:18:34 AM
The odds continue to shift to the side of the Celtics now that SGA is confirmed out of the lineup for the side of OKC and tbh I even liked their spread a bit more regardless of the blowout loss they had against the Sixers.

The Celtics will probably win here but i'll try a small bet on OKC+13.5 @1.69 bought all the points I can get on Stake and hope they perform much better and keep the game a bit close.

This bet will probably go through because even if you gave a -5 handicap to the home team, they will still win the game and that's almost guaranteed because they are now leading the game with a 30+ points. My picks for tonight.

Milwaukee Bucks (-4.5) vs Washington Wizards = Milwaukee Bucks Win 1.85 Odds.

Memphis Grizzlies (-4.5) vs Sakramento Kings = Memphis Grizzlies Win 1.92 Odds.

Good luck guys.

I tailed both of your bets, but I wasn't expecting Giannis not to play the game, I really wouldn't have considered Milwaukee Bucks as the favorites, let alone a -4.5 point favorite when they're playing this Washington Wizards team with both Giannis and Khris Middleton out injured, but there weren't many games to pick from to begin with so, there isn't much options I could have had.

Memphis Grizzlies getting me even for the night still makes it very fair imo, thanks.

Meanwhile, what I got is the opposite bet because I rooted for the Wizards than betting on Bucks as I already know that the Bucks guards can't make it to the game which will give an advantage to the Wizards, what I didn't expect is that Giannis not able to play, head coach didn't listed Giannis as questionable either.

On the other hand, I favored the Kings to win the game against the Grizzlies because Bane won't be with Ja Morant in the game. In an unexpected event, Kings roster wasn't that impressive today in their game against the Grizzlies which got my bets lost.

You are 1-1, and you are lucky that Giannis didn't play, things were so easy for the road team to beat the home team, and that's with a huge margin. Of course, Wizards does not have Beal as well  but the big 3 of the Bucks are out, so they lose.

Later they will have a rematch, a match-up between the Milwaukee Bucks vs Washington Wizards and the Bucks is again hosting the game, this time, Jrue Holiday will be helping Giannis against the Wizards and probably they will get their revenge from getting a defeat last time. I bet it will b a different game this time with Giannis rested and as well as Holiday.

Milwaukee Bucks -8 and Utah Jazz - 3.5
1891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia on: January 03, 2023, 09:53:50 PM
i believe davis has better advantage when it comes to prep for this fight as he has a tune-up fight before garcia, whereas, garcia cancelled his fight with gesta. which should be a very good one to test his preps.
Nah, I don't think so, Garcia wants to prepare well for this fight, he said he wants to focus on his fight with Davis that's why he canceled the fight, so that means he believes that his decision was right and he will fully focus on his upcoming big fight. Anyway, let's just find out on the fight date, we will definitely know who's ready or not.
I would do the same if I were in his place. Gervonta Davis is not an easy opponent so it is better to be prepared earlier than his opponent. If for @AmoreJaz Davis has advantage because of this tune up and so is Garcia. He can study Davis technique, movement or current fighting style from this fight. Not to mention his mind will focus only on this fight.

Either way, it will give Garcia an advantage and a disadvantage because if Garcia pushed through that tune-up fight, he will have the first hand knowledge how to fight Davis because Gesta moves like him but he's not the kind of boxer that Garcia can beat easily and that's where the disadvantage come in because his time to prepare against Davis will be much lesser but he already have any knowledge, whereas if Garcia prepares directly, he won't have any knowledge but he's prepared, the downfall is that it's not that sure that his plans will be correct.

That can happen if he takes the risk and proceed in fighting Gesta, having a good insight on how your possible opponent will move and
anticipate his attack with the same strategy will help you a lot.

But just like what you mentioned, Gesta is not an easy opponent and the chance of him losing the fight is possible, maybe he or his
camp see that so they decided to not to continue.

Instead, they will prepare harder with the upcoming fight against Davis.

I had the same impression that Garcia made the move along with his camp and Oscar Dela Hoya, but it turns out that it wasn't the case because as Golden Boy said, Ryan Garcia made the move himself as all of them were left surprised because they have thought that Ryan is eager to have his own tune-up fight so that he will have a first hand knowledge on how will Tank move.

I guess we will know it soon, Ryan Garcia only knows why he didn't proceeded with the tune-up fight.

"Is the bear market over? Hard to say, but a lot of the bad news was priced in. With a maximum drawdown of -28%, SPX discounted 85% of a typical 33% market decline and 78% of a recession bear market. I still like the 1946 counterpart-"
It looks like the bear market is not over for now. The bear market continues, and Bitcoin will experience small dumps from time to time. However, market conditions are more stable than before. We will be difficult to predict the current market conditions. Will it be bearish or bullish which will happen in early 2023. By and large Q1 in any year will experience a bit of dumping.

OP already said it himself, hard to say. With the current issues and market situation, bear market is yet to stop or nearing its end as there's also no signs that the bull is already approaching. Truly hard to say and judging from the current situation, bear might stay for another couple of months or for the whole year before the halving in 2024. Of course, that's just a speculation because nobody here in this planet could predict what would happen in the future.
1893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 03, 2023, 09:11:58 PM
What site ranking is this in the first place? I just want to know. I doubt it for the GSW this time around it looks like they won't gonna make it. These days it keeps getting unpredictable on who's gonna win the NBA championship, and, when the playoffs come that's when the most unpredictable thing happens.

I do not know where you are basing that comment, but GSW still looks solid even with their poor start this season. They are 19-18, which is above 500. They are currently on a 4 winning streak and 5-5 on their last 10. All that was done without Curry and Wiggins. They are currently ranked #9 which is still okay since they still have 45 games to play. Last year, I think, they finished 5th in the West and were still able to take home the Championship. As long as they are able to get into the playoffs, they still have a good chance of winning the chip. They are a different beast in the playoffs, especially if they are all healthy.

As always, Warriors are a late bloomer kind of team who struggles every start of the season but when they are already heated, they will start to bully the teams particularly if they are all healthy, even if one of them are injured, they are still pretty impressive because they will always step up to defend their team from the vulnerability. They just don't care about the bracketing because they know the real score, the important thing for them is to get a safe seat to the playoffs even if that means that they will just sit at the 5th or 6th seed.

The team now that looks poor is definitely Phoenix Suns, the team won't go anywhere without Booker. CP3 is not as good if there's no Booker.
1894  Other / Archival / Re: Long-term Bitcoin accumulation continues on: January 03, 2023, 11:37:00 AM
But the gloomy market picture of the current year does not affect the accumulation of bitcoin by long-term holders. On the contrary, savings increased:

Despite the cold market conditions, there's still a lot of investors who tries to accumulate more as the time goes by, whether if it's new or old investors, their aim are all the same and that is to take advantage while the market is still cheap because time will come that bitcoin will recover. Good thing for those who truly understand the bitcoin's nature and that there's really no need to doubt its existence because it wasn't created to give people a hard time.

Mostly, just like as you've said, people who are into short-term holding are the ones who are affected but for those who are into long-term, they just don't care about the current price because their vision is already far enough to care about the present.

So it isn't really surprising that the Japanese boxer seldom lost in their country.  During the 1990's the only way to win in Japan was to knock out their boxer and if you failed to stop your opponent it is a sure lost to the visiting boxer.

The same thing happened in Australia when Pacman was robbed. Let's hope that things will change for the fairness of sports, that way they will be able to have the opportunity to host a championship fight because they have good credibility, big fights are not fought in countries where there's a questionable reputation about judging a fight, so it's not good for business.

That's not new in boxing, there are really questionable judging, they say boxing is corrupt, then that explain the allegations. However, we are still here supporting the sport, so we should not complain, just accept the fact that sometimes things does not happen based on our expectation. If we search in youtube, you will find a lot of fights with controversial results.

I believe the more we support the sport the more we complain about the unjust decisions by judges.  This way we can assure that the sports we are supporting offer the best services.  It is not new in boxing history that judges can be bought.  There are even lots of rumors about Mayweather Jr. buying judges' favors just to let him win the game.  It become a hot topic when Judges favors Mayweather Jr. in the first encounter of  Mayweather and Maidana.

In fact, in all boxing history, controversial fights are just too many to mention here. It will take a whole year just to discuss it and to agree if the judge's made the right call or not. But despite of the bad image that these judges, referees, and boxers are giving, we all are here still supporting and watching their upcoming fights because we know that there's still a lot of neutral fight and fair fight as not all of them is that corrupt. There's still judges and referees that just can't be bought because they have their own stand.

Up to this date, we're still witnessing corrupt officials and controversial fights. We just can't do anything about it because we don't have the voice that will make them obey and straighten them up.
1897  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin isn't dying, it's alive. on: January 02, 2023, 08:26:57 PM
Bitcoin is run by a community that is formed over a period of decade. People like Musk make fun of Bitcoin in the start and when they see an opportunity in Bitcoin they are jumping in. It up to the bitcoin community that how they respond to such opportunits, we are in position to either make or break them. IMO the bitcoin community is the one that gave too much importance to Musk and that's his sole reason of success in the bitcoin market. I guess its a matter of time when we will see maturity in bitcoin community.
Having some sort of rich person end up being interested doesn't matter. I do not need Elon to tell me it's great to know it's great, neither need Warren Buffet to tell me it's too dangerous to know the risks neither. I am capable of making these calculations myself and I am fine with it and I am happy about it as well.

There is absolutely no need to make any kind of profit at all right now at all because I am in no rush neither, I know it's alive, I know it's injured or whatever you want to call it with this analogy right now but I also know it will heal and get better with time. Time is the only thing we need, time is the only thing we can't buy and that's why it matters so much.

I couldn't agree with you anymore. We all have our own speculations and that's what matter as long as we know we are equipped with the knowledge needed to read the market's climate and its future, there's certainly no need to rely on this Billionaires especially Elon Musk as we already know their motive why they're saying like this and that, surely, that's because they are planning to get advantage of the situation to their own benefit.

The important thing is that we know that bitcoin will recover because as history suggests, bitcoin will always recover no matter the challenge. Just like what you've said, there's really no need to rush for things especially if we're in for the long-term hodling. Just sit tight and watch until the market recovers.

On the other hand, I favored the Kings to win the game against the Grizzlies because Bane won't be with Ja Morant in the game. In an unexpected event, Kings roster wasn't that impressive today in their game against the Grizzlies which got my bets lost.

They are very impressive on their recent wins at home, without Curry, they still manage to win. Also, there was one game where Thompson rested, they still win, that's really impressive. however, I'm concerned about their road record, because as good as they are at their home, they are playing worst when they are on the road.

Jordan Poole has the talent but he is not as clutch as Curry and Thompson, the splash brothers really are the reasons of the success of the Warriors. Poole getting added as a talent, he can be a good 2nd unit so they will not run out of offense. Once Curry will come back, no way Poole will be able to get his numbers now as the offense will be focus back to Curry.

Poole is not yet on that point, but I know soon, he will be named as one of the clutch players too. It's just that Curry and Thompson are the ones who are in the spotlight for now because they are the ones who are much reliable when it comes to clutch shots. I'm just glad that he's stepping up in the games and helping the team bring a win in the times that they needed it the most while Curry is not yet around and Thompson is not that consistent as well.
