These hacks, now and then, are a major reason the crypto business is still scary. One would think one already had the cryptos secured in a wallet (even with private keys) only to discover upon login that one had been hacked. Nevertheless, if I were the victim of that hack I wouldn't be putting all my BTC in a single wallet. I would split that into (at least) 10 different wallets.
No. They are the reason PHONES are scary, this was a SIM attack, if you did your banking, stocks, or whatever from it, they could have been stolen as well. There is no problem with Bitcoin. There is a problem with PEOPLE using PHONES insecurely to handle LARGE amounts from it. A (smart)phone is insecure, you should never handle anything but small amounts from ir, and expect to lose them at any time (stole phone, etc). Computers can be insecure, but they are easier to secure than most phones. Installing Linux in a PC is trivial next to a smartphone, where only a few models here and there can get rid of android for something decent. But of course that doesn't include the SIM, ie the line. Perhaps without line, a tablet running Linux can be good enough (it would use wifi, but you at least could torify that). Splitting is ok, but more importantly is splitting into cold (ie: secured paper with hand written seed words nobody can see) and hot wallets for small "everyday" amounts. Yes, there is no reason to keep large amounts into a hot wallet, Exchanges learned that the hard way. To keep 45M like that is beyond careless, its irresponsible. I have no sympathy for people like that. Do you, perchance, keep a mountain of banknotes on the back of your car when you drive around and leave it parked in public places for everyone to see? Because this is about the same thing. And no, leaving your car "locked" isn't going to count, you WILL get your money stolen. |

I would say the fee is , the fee was still the same , it is never dependent on the amount of bitcoins you are sending , you could have been sending only 1% more then the fee itself and the price will stay the same still.
It is an average , but if we are talking about the everyday matters , it is still not less , the amount is still the same.
SegWit and Lightning did reduce some but at the same time when you try and send BTC from a normal address to these or vice versa , you actually have to pay the same :')
It does to a smaller extent, larger sums probably come from more sources than smaller sums, and the more inputs the higher the fee. Still, you shouldn't be worrying about it, if you manually use the smallest fee (1 sat/B) you would always be paying a fee in cents. Whats the hurry? Check back tomorrow... Just don't let the wallet decide the fee for you and you will never have to worry about "high fees" ever again. Besides, them wallets can be fooled easily by doing that network guessing at the wrong moment, such as when an exchange decides to move stuff around... Just don't. 1 sat/B is good for most situations, plan ahead, most transactions don't need "Lightning". |

Bueno está haciendo mucho ruido los casos en Korea del Sur.... Círculo rojoCorea del Sur acaba de actualizar sus casos confirmados de coronavirus: 556 casos confirmados.
Se han multiplicado x 18 en la última semana. La lucha para contener el nuevo virus se está complicando mucho. También he visto algo que en Cánada y USA, también se reportan más casos, creo que esto se está propagando muy rápido, al menos cuando estaba sólo en Wuhan tenia más dificultad en llegar y expandirse el virus. En Venezuela hubo una sospecha de un paciente en Maracay, pero fué descartado, la razón es que Cuba supuestamente está aceptando los vuelos provenientes de China y esto puede ser una manera muy sutil de aceptar casos de Coronavirus y permiten su paso, esta noticia fué dada en la radio local.... Pienso que si este virus llega a Venezuela, haría un efecto "Barredora" porque la crisis es impresionante, no se consiguen medicamentos esenciales como acetaminofén o antigripales, y si llega una epidemia de este estilo, creo que la población se eliminaría muy rápido. China es una potencia, que tiene capacidad de cómo aguantar esto y están colapsados, ahora un país con tantas debilidades sería algo realmente apocalíptico. Como se encuentra nuestro sistema de salud, ese virus toca este país y la mortandad va ser seria, no te extrañe que decreten toque de queda. Por mas que sea Europa y los países vecinos tienen sistemas de salud funcionales. El Caribe y la misma Cuba no tendrán mayor problema, pero Venezuela donde la gente muere de intoxicación por falta de medicamentos y un sistema hospitalario público sin insumos para la limpieza ya no hablemos de tratamiento médico es una bomba por estallar y se puede esparcir a la región (no olvidemos la emigración y transito constante de los que trabajan fuera para enviar remesas). Venezuela tiene una debilidad similar a los empobrecidos países Africanos, la gran cooperación entre Cuba y Venezuela es un asunto del pasado. Seguro en una contingencia mandarán unos pobres médicos por "solidaridad" pero aquí no hay un sistema de salud capaz de resistir ninguna epidemia. Si la gente se salva será como las infecciones anteriores del Zika y Chikunguya; los que no murieron desarrollaron resistencia... A mi no me preocupa Cuba esa gente es seria con la medicina. Me preocupan son los otros vuelos, Italia por ejemplo donde ya hay muertos y poblaciones en cuarentena. Y en todo caso la mayoría de los vuelos desde hacía China no pasan por Cuba, van por EEUU (con escala en países vecinos por el tema de las sanciones) y por Europa distintas aerolíneas tipo Air France o Turkish Airlines (que ya suspendieron vuelos desde/hacia China) hacen la conexión en sus países de origen con Caracas. |

Creo que esta onda de las monedas de privacidad todavía están en una etapa bastante temprana, siento que es muy parecido al momento histórico en que la criptografía era considerada un elemento militar y que los civiles no deberían tener acceso a ello.
Hoy en día es inconcebible navegar por Internet transmitiendo los datos en plano, sin pasar por algún tipo de criptografía. El mismo escenario se puede vislumbrar para las monedas de privacidad, solo es cuestión de tiempo para que las regulaciones se pongan al día con estas transferencias de valor descentralizadas de manera anónima.
La pregunta mas interesante de todo esto es, ¿serán las monedas actuales y su tecnología la utilizada en el futuro para la trasmisión de valor de manera privada?
Esa es la pregunta del millón de dolares, me gustaría escuchar sus opiniones al respecto.
Si, lo mas triste del asunto es que Monero no es privada por defecto y mucha gente lo desconoce. Hay que usar la cartera en consola, creo que ni se puede con la interfaz gráfica. Es sorprendente que alguien de un gobierno apoye esto, pero indudablemente con el pasar del tiempo se va volver una realidad global. Bitcoin trajo al mundo la separación entre Dinero y Estado, y el tema del anonimato total es muy polémico, porque los poderes establecidos se acostumbraron a usar el dinero como herramienta de control y sumisión. En países como el mio, es incluso herramienta de empobrecimiento. Parece un contrasentido, pero eso es lo que pasa cuando el valor del dinero depende de pocas manos, especialmente políticos, la mayoría sin una noción mínima de conocimiento en economía. Después que el dinero esté completamente desligado al control de unos pocos (usualmente gobierno pero a veces entes privados o una combinación), pues deberán al origen o al destino si pretenden imponer el cumplimiento de sus leyes. Sencillamente el dinero dejara de ser herramienta de persecución, y deberán ponerse a trabajar con sus órganos de inteligencia y policial en otros ámbitos. Lo mismo pasa con el anonimato en internet, que es una herramienta indispensable para la denuncia, cosa que los políticos y otra gente mal habida detesta (transparencia en la gestión pública y privada). |

Me parece algo complicado, caro e inútil.
La mayoría tenemos varias wallets. y el precio es por solo dos placas.
Prefiero la solución de parity que usa un teléfono viejo como monedero frió. Eso y una hoja de papel te permite crear copias seguras.
Lo cual va ser muy divertido el día que lo intente encender y no funcione... Son 12 palabras, sean creativos. Pueden grabarlas en piedra, metales o cualquier cosa que se les ocurra. O sencillamente tener 2 papeles bien guardados y protegidos en lugares físicos distintos, de manera que una catástrofe en uno no destruya el acceso a la cartera. Lo he dicho mucho en inglés y ahora se los digo en español: La mejor cartera fría es un papel con palabras escritas a mano, lejos de dispositivos digitales. ¿Y si por alguna emergencia es necesario destruir el papel? Teniendo el otro protegido, en caso de emergencia es mucho mas fácil destruir el que se tiene cerca si es un simple papel para que no caiga en manos indebidas. Ya luego habrá tiempo de recuperar el segundo, restaurar la copia (a mano siempre) en otro lugar seguro. Además esas palabras pueden esconderse muy bien a simple vista, por ejemplo en una biblioteca, marcando en uno o varios libros, etc. También estenografía y combinación de las anteriores. No hagan como el de la caña de pescar (si es que fue verdad) que puso el papel en una sola y la caña se "perdió"... Debió usar 2 cañas en lugares distintos, o una caña y otro objeto (como la pata hueca de una silla), igualmente en lugares físicamente distintos. Es imperante evitar dispositivos digitales para el manejo de estas palabras, por seguridad. Nada de fotos, o imprimir. La creación y manejo de estas carteras debe hacerse preferiblemente en una pc segura con una imagen arrancable, por ejemplo en linux y la pc preferiblemente desconectada del internet (hay un procedimiento para "emitir" la cartera creada luego a otra pc conectada, que también debería ser segura, nada de windows, osx, android o ios.) |

Altcoins respaldadas por gobiernos no las hace nada confiables. Las monedas fiat del mundo son respaldadas por esos mismos gobiernos quienes no creen en la transparencia y la des-centralización. Lo único que buscan es "control", que es directamente opuesto.
Todo el chiste de Bitcoin es separar Dinero y Estado, una altcoin respaldada por un gobierno o Estado no es mas que la reproducción digital de lo que ya existe, con todas sus consecuencias nefastas. Es el objetivo primordial de Bitcoin quitar a los políticos poder alguno sobre el dinero, que no puedan manipularlo de manera alguna jamás como siempre lo han hecho durante toda la historia humana.
Estas noticias son lamentables por decir lo menos. Lo ideal sería ver la adopción global de Bitcoin, no la creación de mas altcoin centralizadas. Ademas de la manipulación, esa centralización las hace sumamente débiles, fáciles de destruir o sabotear.
Tengamos el Petro: Esto está "respaldado" no por el Estado Venezolano (aunque eso pongan en el papel), en realidad es por el gobierno actual. Si cae ese gobierno, el valor del Petro se va a cero, la oposición reiteradamente ha dicho que el Petro es ilegal, no lo reconocen, etc, etc.
En cambio, el valor de Bitcoin sigue siendo el que indica el libre mercado. Puede que fluctúe, pero tiende a mantener su valor (poder de compra) en el tiempo y no le afecta ni los gobiernos ni la economía mundial. El Petro está artificialmente "anclado", exactamente igual como se ancló el bolívar cuando inició el pegging de 2004. Y estamos hablando de la misma gente que produjo la peor inflación de la historia de Venezuela, literalmente los mismos funcionarios.
Nada mas peligroso que una moneda anclada a "algo", lo que sea, que no sea un precio producto de compradores y vendedores en libertad. Todos los anclajes son bombas de tiempo y ese es otro motivo por el cual las "stable" coins son sumamente peligrosas.
Todos los anclajes se basan en una promesa, que alguien o un grupo se compromete a cumplir. Esto es algo "fuera de código", depende netamente de la voluntad humana de unos pocos. Si, exactamente los mismos vicios del dinero fiat del mundo, incluso tal vez peor. Se sabe por ejemplo que Tether juega a la reserva fraccionaria, exactamente igual al "esquema Ponzi" de la banca moderna, pero de eso les hablaré en otra ocasión...

Sometimes its fine (SAO is pretty much the same as the light novel, minor some details (Ie. the "Tonki" adventure), but for example in Zero no Tsukaima they changed a LOT in the animation and nearly ruined it). But go ahead and check novelupdates, there is something for everyone there, probably. |

So you rage because your teammate did something you wouldn't have done yourself, too bad you cannot be all your teammates and control them at the same time... The CS attitude, i have seen it since the first one, v1.5 (pre Steam) that people used to play in cafes. Thats the reason i avoided that game and went for others were i could laugh and not care about rankings, such as bf1942 and bf2 (and their mods). Then when moba came around, the whole thing repeated. So i also avoided them mobas. I want to play something to enjoy not to get irritated. I went for MMOs or MMORPGs, you occasionally get bad guildmates, but that is easily fixed by leaving and joining another or making your own. It sucked a bit for people in certain space game where an infamous corp did meta exploits to win battles (given you could lose an asset that took 2 years of real time to obtain). So if the game becomes too much work like that's also not a good thing. Another shoot and laugh game would be Team Fortress 2 and its mods. Before the team based fps games the norm was being the lone "Rambo", so you would go frag fest alone, try to be serious at time, or do silly things at other. I remember once being accused of aiming bot because it was kinda randomly shooting in certain quake map to places were people usually ran to, and happened one kill shot a lot of players that day, that was too funny of course normally you wouldn't be able to do that but luck was on my side heh. And the aimbot thing was false of course If you cannot contain your rage you cannot perform properly and will get killed even more which would make rage more and do worse. I think that's one of the reasons soldiers (and fastfood part timers) are constantly yelled at by their superiors, is so they can learn to cope with humiliation without "tilting". They literally drill the "tilt" out from you, just obey orders and shut up, etc. If you fail, go again, switch teammates, whatever. Or play another game. Just avoid things that make you rage, the world is full of fun and adventure to waste it on idiots. |

This curve exists elsewhere, in historical price of certain things, such as gold.... The late investors always earn less, that's the other side of the coin. Time and time again we warn people to be serious handling those wallets, and moving to cold wallets important sums, and yet this keeps occurring. Its the human error, Bitcoin is not at fault, Bitcoin was NOT "hacked", some guy SIM was, and this is as silly as it can get (large sums depending on a mobile, really?) 2fa? Hmmpf. Give me a piece or paper to write my words with my own hands. To move those funds you are forced to manually open that paper and type those words into a secure computer and there is no magical way around it, you just cannot connect to a "cold" piece of paper, and if its folded good luck taking pictures of it, and if its properly hidden, stenographed, or whatever; well you can imagine the chances. |

Creo que una razón podría ser que la discusión sobre criptomonedas en el mundo hispano se da más en lugares como Facebook, Twitter, y otras "grandes redes", o bien en grupos de servicios de mensajería como Telegram y WA. Este foro, como comenzó en inglés, tiene una comunidad "arraigada", de la cual algunos foristas son del mundo hispano. Muchos del mundo hispano, con algunas excepciones, descubrieron al Bitcoin un poco después que el mundo angloparlante (yo diría alrededor de 2013/14), y en este momento ya existían muchos grupos en FB y otros para la discusión sobre cryptos. También le juega en contra a BCT que su uso en celulares sea tan engorroso.
Después creo que hay otra razón, que es que si lo comparamos con la versión inglesa, se nota claramente que muchos de los que participan en las secciones "masivas" como "Bitcoin Discussion", en las que también hay mucho "spam", son personas que hablan el inglés como segundo o tercer idioma. Gente de la India, Africa, el mundo árabe etc. Esto ocurre porque muchos de estos países tienen un pasado colonial y que el inglés además es el idioma "internacional" por excelencia, y por ello se infla el potencial grupo de usuarios del foro inglés.
Yo pienso que influye mucho el tema de las redes sociales, sobretodo los mas jóvenes que nunca han tocado un foro o irc. Personalmente me gusta mas IRC pero he vuelto a usar foros porque mi internet se ha vuelto muy inestable. Casi todos estos idiomas son producto de la dominación colonial, el español fue impuesto por un imperio igual que el inglés a sus colonias por todo el mundo, y en menor grado francés, etc. Es lo que hay y toca aprenderlos. El tema del inglés no es nuevo, históricamente la informática nació y creció en inglés por eso es necesario aprenderlo. Todos aprenden inglés porque es el idioma "común", aunque la mayoría tenga como idioma de nacimiento uno distinto casi todos se esfuerzan por aprender al menos ese y posiblemente un tercer idioma del país donde residen si es distinto al de origen. Hay idiomas que se adaptarían mucho mejor a los lenguajes de programación que el inglés (el español NO es uno) pero se mantiene la costumbre y modismos del ingles en los lenguajes de programación. Chinos y Árabes programadores les ha tocado aprenderlo aunque no sea por gusto, es la realidad. Desde un principio siempre hubo mucha mas información en inglés para los temas de informática. Y cuando se masificó internet se mantuvo esta tendencia. Al día de hoy incluso, pueden ver wikipedia la diferencia en cantidad de contenido entre la versión en inglés y español es abismal. Ahora que está el tema de los traductores, otro grupo (¿milenials?) han perdido todo interés en aprender y lanzan a google cualquier cosa que no entienden (traducción por máquina); entonces no aprenden el inglés y para cosas profundas se mantienen fuera. Se puede traer contenido al español pero siempre va ser menor o mas tarde, y la calidad de la traducción (especialmente no remunerada) no va ser siempre la mejor. Ocasionalmente se producen noticias en español y ocurre el efecto contrario, pero la balanza de contenido se inclina notablemente hacia el lado opuesto. De todos modos así están en los otros idiomas, con la diferencia del número de hablantes que tiende a influir, y bueno la condición socio-económica probablemente influye, mucha pobreza en países hispano hablantes por ejemplo les deja menos tiempo para dedicarse a estos temas (que irónicamente podría ayudarles a mejorar su situación) pero es tal como se enseña en la escuela austríaca: tomar la decisión de sacrificarse dejar de comer unos días para para inventar la herramienta que luego te permitirá comer con mayor facilidad... Es decir la inversión (con riesgo) a futuro te puede llevar a una ganancia que no obtienes si te mantienes en lo que te da de comer hoy "pero es seguro"... |

With Bitcoin, things can be more easier, as our world started to be modernized and technologies started to grow, we also need Bitcoin that can relate with the technologies that we have to make the living of people be more easier as what technologies do for the human.
What bitcoin can do today for tomorrow, is spare us from future devaluation (induced inflation). Thing is, people living in "nice" countries are unaware their coin can collapse overnight, they haven't experienced it, so its like it cannot happen to them. But they are very wrong, fiat can collapse overnight, since it depends on the very politicians everyone hates. That's the other reason i consider fiat or "stable" coins time bombs, they make us trust them, lower our guard. Bitcoin price may fluctuate, but its honest, State / bank backed money isn't. El caso de Venezuela es algo fuera de lo común, los bancos se usan para fines de pagar algunos servicios como la luz, telefonía fija y móvil, pero el volumen de antes que las personas iban a retirar dinero o depositar, eso casi no existe, por lo menos en la parte de provincia no es así, porque efectivo no hay, tal vez en la capital ( porque lo hacen ver como un país alterno, algo así como otro universo paralelo) puede que allá si.
La dependencia de Bancos cayó totalmente, ahora se maneja Dólar, Pesos Colombianos, algunas veces se usa el banco para las transferencias, realmente eso es lo único, en mi caso no tengo efectivo de la moneda local, además el valor del Bolívar ha caído demasiado, es algo tormentoso en realidad, dado este problema se maneja mucho más divisas extranjeras..
Claro esto es un caso atípico muy fuera de lo común de cualquier otro país, y si es que se puede vivir sin estar atado a un banco si, es muy posible ya, porque las tarjetas de crédito casi que no tiene sentido tenerlas..
Es igual en Caracas al día de hoy un solo billete por persona por día, y no se sabe cual de los 3 billetes hay. En la calle se ven dólares estadounidenses circulando y algunos euros, pero los pesos colombianos se ven mas por allá... Los negocios y servicios listan los precios de las cosas en dólares y si pagas con bolívares es "a la tasa del día". El pago en bolívares es mayoritariamente electrónico, usualmente débito o móvil; ocasionalmente transferencia. Mis tarjetas de crédito eran inútiles hace 4 años, para 2018 tenían crédito de 1 bolívar soberano (*). Seguramente les costó mucho mas emitir ese plástico con chip a Visa y Mastercard (y una era "dorada" para mas risa), las usé por última vez como en 2015. Supuestamente por las sanciones ambas empresas saldrían del país a finales de 2019, no supe mas del asunto. Yo también uso el banco para pagar servicios y alimentar la tarjeta de débito antes de salir a comprar. Debido a la inflación se debe mantener la menor cantidad de dinero fiat posible (cada día pierde valor) así que se cambia lo justo que se va pagar ese día (en localbicoins, etc). Los dólares en efectivo se pueden guardar, pero no es la misma comodidad de Bitcoin. Son necesarios por si se viaja, claro. Además para las remesas Bitcoin es excelente (sin intermediarios). A nosotros no nos tienen que hablar de "una sociedad sin efectivo", la estamos viviendo desde hace años. Lo único lamentable es que no es con Bitcoin. Y los que se quejan de la "fluctuación" de bitcoin no saben como se mueven los precios en moneda fiat a diario por acá (siempre hacía arriba, claro). En Venezuela la utilidad de un banco es solo esa, procesador de pagos. No se puede pedir préstamos y guardar dinero es perderlo. Si el resto de la sociedad adoptase Bitcoin, no harían falta para nada mas. * Nota: Al día de hoy, 7 soberanos compran 1 satoshi. |

I don't think that it is a good idea to buy a second- handed miner. It is better for someone to buy it directly from bitmain. Also, it is a little bit old miner as there are a lot of machines with better hashrate right now.
You must be joking. Most S9s sold today are used, because they are old, and they cost like 100 USD, when they used to cost 3000 USD some 3+ years ago. Also the remainder S9s sold by Bitmain are of low quality yields, the s9e appears to be the worst of them. The i is good and the j is the best, but you are not getting those new anymore. Those of us with very cheap (or free) electricity are potential buyers. It is true that the S17 is much more efficient, but its also way more expensive, and the goal for any buyer is to lower their ROI, which when electricity happens to be super cheap, can actually mean the S9 pays itself faster than the S17. Of course this won't last forever and eventually all the old S9s will be gone. And with they announcing 5nm miners, eventually the S17 too will become obsolete (and by then it might get an attractive price). Second hand market is vital for a miner segment out there. One's garbage is somebody else's treasure... |
