Bitcoin is doing great, holding steady besides nay sayers. What some people call "side ways". Which is good, the less it fluctuates, the more it consolidates.
Altcoins don't matter, they all have their bigger or smaller flaws. Of course eth is going down, precisely because of PoS... (well, it does have several other birth defects anyway). Infinite emission = infinite diluting of value. Thats eth right there, couple with reverting blockchain transactions on a whim, the small group that has such power, everyone and their dogs using their blockchain for other things clogging it with kitties etc, etc.
Bitcoin is clean, its good and its strong. Lets see if the USD can withstand infinite emission...

¿Préstamo sin garantías? Nadie le va prestar nada a Venezuela si no acomoda su economía. Ni siquiera China. Hoy envían ayudas humanitarias, pero a la hora de préstamos en dinero, cortaron el chorro.
Es muy elemental, demasiado para quien piensa que la economía es "gobernable" o que la inflación es una "mentira".
A los chinos les tomó, varias décadas y quien sabe cuantos muertos de inanición, de hecho se tuvo que morir el gran líder para poder iniciar el cambio. Acá fue peor, cayó otro que es un inútil en economía y de hecho solito la mató con esa misma tesis: No pasa nada si hacemos de la nada todos los bolívares hasta el infinito y mas allá para pagar lo que haga falta.
En un país con instituciones, libertad y contra pesos, ningún loco se le hubiera permitido llevar a su país a la ruina. Pero acá solo manda la fuerza del fusil...

¿Hasta donde llegará el punto en que la emisión de dinero sin respaldo les termine por quebrar su divisa? ¿Y a quienes arrastrará con su desplome? Puedo pensar en todos los que ciegamente se anclan a ella, como las mal llamadas "estable" coin.
Nada es infinito. Ellos siguen llenando el hueco "imprimiendo" todo el dinero que les hace falta, como Maduro. Claro que el dólar es tan fuerte y su economía tan diversa, que parecen tener mayor campo de acción sin que las cosas pasen a mayor, o al menos eso creen...
Si les llega a pasar, no podrán reaccionar. No tendrán como escapar a otra moneda, como en Argentina y obviamente Venezuela. Solo cuando se "esta bien" se tiene oportunidad de hacerlo, pero no se hace porque no ven la necesidad... Hasta que ocurre, y ya perdieron la mitad o mas de su riqueza por una decisión política.
Bitcoin es la única moneda que escapa de decisiones políticas que puedan matarle su valor de la noche a la mañana.
Antonopoulos lo ha dicho: Es la separación de dinero y Estado. Y así debe ser.

Porque si comienzan a enseñar economía en las aulas, pronto se darán cuenta que el problema viene no desde Hugo Chávez, sino desde el propio Rómulo Betancourt; y ese es probablemente el motivo por el cual siempre mantuvieron ese tema a distancia. El conocimiento económico desbarata mucha demagogia politiquera, y si enseñan a Mises y los austríacos, su poder colapsa. Por un lado unos descerebrados que le llaman a todo lo que no es lo de ellos "neo-liberal", y por el otro los que solo esgrimen la imperante pero errada escuela de Chicago. El mundo ya descubrió lo que hace "gobernar" la economía (véase la Venezuela actual, o toda la experiencia del extinto bloque soviético), ahora falta que descubran lo que hace la escuela de Chicago, con su dinero ficticio de la expansión crediticia, el esquema Ponzi legalizado que es la banca con reserva fraccionaria y sus interminables ciclos de burbuja estallido. Pero la escuela austríaca pone las cosas en sus sitio, y eso desbarata moldes. Tan solo la verdadera concepción del dinero, o el valor de las cosas. Obras maestras como: La Acción Humana, o Socialismo por citar un par de sus obras que aterrarían a toda la clase política Venezolana. Imaginen si se enteran, se les can los discursos. Y eso va con rojos, naranjas, amarillos, blancos, verdes y demás; casi ninguno se salva. La que usa azul es medio pasable en algunas cosas, pero le faltan otras. Es porque le falta este último elemento. Bitcoin no se entiende sin la escuela austríaca. Comiencen enseñando sobre el dinero y economía básica desde la óptica de la escuela austríaca, y vean como bitcoin encaja en el rompecabezas a la perfección, como la pieza que le faltaba a la humanidad para salir de lo otro. Y si mas gente aprende esas cosas por su cuenta, ¿Como van a seguir los políticos manipulando? Perderán todo su poder. No es de extrañar, que algunos consideren estos temas subversivos... |

Probablemente Localbitcoins mantenga el liderazgo. Binance está intentando entrar, no se que tanto atraiga a la gente por acá... Y Paxful pues atado a la administración estadounidense no le quedará mas remedio que retirarse si es alguna vez tuvo presencia...
Aunque hay pequeños exchanges locales, no llaman la atención. Además que estos estarían atados a las legislaciones locales, lo que no es muy bueno cuando un gobierno se pone hostil. Un "tercero neutral" es mas confiable, y Finlandia suena bien de momento.

Hey at least its not coffee... That said, you could always exchange with the shop owner in advance, its not like people usually interact directly with the Coca Cola company. Unless its some sort of vending machine? Or Coca Cola wants to associate its image with a "cool millennial thing" like Bitcoin, in which case its "free" promotion (actually paid when you buy their product). But bitcoin was meant to be used to buy things, including this. So why not? |

Don't do this. Make a new wallet, at creation you get to write words in a paper, thats your cold storage paper backup right there... Now move the funds to that new wallet and delete it.
Keep the paper safe, its all you need to ever retrieve your funds back in the future. Its recommended to make another physical copy of it (with your hands, zero electronics) and keep both safe.
Again, don't backup wallet.dat or even attempt to analyze it with tools. Just play it safe and move the funds to a modern wallet with a proper seed word phrase. Also see why paper wallets were replaced by the seed word system, any sort of direct handling a private key are a big no no. Too many points of failure and lack of security.
You may think the seed words and the private key are the same thing, but they aren't. Those words are so easy to conceal and manually copy, the private key isn't, which makes people tempt to use an electronic device, opening the doors to a whole can of worms.
When you make a new wallet, you have to write some words in a paper with your hands, this is the most important thing for a wallet, nothing else matters, no password, no 2fa, no hardware gizmos. This very paper is the core and soul of it, never forget how important this is, and yes, you can lose anything else.

Who deserves to do promotions that way? I mean who would spend that much money? Satoshi Nakamoto? or who else?
Since bitcoin is decentralized that will not be anyone who will spend a lot of money to promote bitcoin with huge of money.
As for some people out there who promote bitcoin, they only just rely on their popularity, no more than that.
We have to focus on giving some learning about bitcoin to new people as much as we can, tell them the basic thing about bitcoin if they are interested they will naturally like and spend money to buy bitcoin.
Those things will make bitcoin to the moon and it will last a long time, no more deep crashes and make people lose with it.
I can think the likes of an exchange or someone else are good candidates for an ad of this sort. Of course they would promote their site, and maybe add some Bitcoin logo if they are gracious enough. I'm sure SpaceX wouldn't object adding some paint job ad to their rockets for a price. But what if the stage breaks when returning? The largest part is the one that returns, they have increased their success rate but its not perfect yet. Specially when it lands in a barge in the middle of the ocean... And if you paint an ad at the upper stage it wouldn't be so big would it? Well spaceship itself is very large but we haven't reached that point yet, best you get at the top is a smallish capsule. With the private entities getting into space, i do expect more monetization creeping in one way or another, its just a matter of time. Starlink may be profitable on its own (it better be), but i'm sure Elon has more plans for it, such as communications with their Tesla fleet... |

Your biggest chance is with SpaceX, if the "former Dogecoin CEO for a day" allows. Or at least, one of the other private company contenders.
To be literal, would mean sending a node up there. But it would suck with latency over a second long...
You see, bitcoin is everywhere where there is a node. All of them, at the same time, exist in all nodes. Right now you cannot even say you "send bitcoin" across borders. What people handle are the keys that allow them control over a few of them. I guess it was easier for the masses to call the things "wallets" rather than keyrings?.
Right now, it is useless. But if a moon colony (which Elon already called "Moon Base Alpha") ever exists, they might want to have a few nodes in there.
Without significant advances in human communications (and my bet goes to quantum entanglement), a multi-planetary humanity will have to keep separate blockchains on each planet. Moon might still be doable, but Mars and elsewhere won't.

I don't think that the point here is about Bitcoin but about blockchain. And that is not surprise,many industries are implementing blockchain technology for different purposes. The thing is that many still mix blockchain and Bitcoin but use of blockchain doesn't necessary mean the use of Bitcoin and that is the case with Microsoft too.
So, I don't think this news is something surprising.
Which is would certainly be more surprising to see if it was just about Bitcoin, being the Microsoft founder Bill Gates has recently stated his disdain for bitcoin, which is a load of bullshit. Gates once stated his appreciate for cryptocurrency but later backed off saying that "bitcoin kills people". Pretty sad statements coming from a tech genius. I think bitcoin goes against his pre-conceived notions of how money should work, not that it's necessarily I bad creation. But Gates is long gone from Microsoft, he retired, so did Balmer, etc. I guess he just keeps stock from the company but doesn't get involved with it anymore. Recently Microsoft has been leaning towards open source a lot, certainly more than when Gates was actually still inside. |

Indeed lucky miners that got those, hope they do the smart move and exchange it for bitcoin...

La realidad que hay es la de los hechos. Jurídicamente, ni la constitución es válida... Aquí no existe el estado de derecho, solo existe el poder ejecutivo. Los Venezolanos no pueden arreglar el problema y a los extranjeros no les importa, el sistema está "roto" sin remedio ni solución y por eso es la gran emigración.

Hay un libro muy bueno que se llama Mastering Monero, Está la versión de paga y la gratuita: En el capítulo 1.3.1 encontrarás los principios de monero: -Descentralización de la Red -Seguridad Financiera -Privacidad Financiera -Fungibilidad El punto aquí es que si nosotros analizamos la cadena de bloques de monero nos escontramos con bloques cmo este: ¿Y que es lo que no te concuerda? No dije que no puedes, dije que por defecto no ocurre y ese es el problema. Te guías en un libro pago de algún tercero pero no ves la documentación del propio Monero. Mi acotación es que, por defecto, tan solo usar Monero no te va proteger. Tienes que aprender a hacer esas transacciones privadas y es por línea de comandos la última vez que lo vi decía explícitamente que no se podía hacer desde el modo gráfico. Pero estamos en el área de Bitcoin, si quieres seguir el tema ve para altcoins. |

En Venezuela ni siquiera enseñan economía básica (y no lo hacían 40 años atrás), ya no hablemos de emprendimientos etc.
El auto aprendizaje es la única salida. Gracias al internet, las generaciones actuales pueden hacerlo con mayor facilidad (aunque el internet de Venezuela apesta).
El salario mínimo de Venezuela es de 2 dólares mensual, y un equivalente en tickets de alimentación de 2 dólares, que no es lo mismo a tener 4 dólares en la mano. Y pronto volveremos al 1 dólar mensual de agosto 2018 antes de correr 5 ceros la moneda (disueltos en menos de 2 años).
Pero malo no es que alguien hable de Bitcoin, faltará ver como lo está enseñando...
Debido a que sigue imperando la mentalidad de la escuela de Chicago en todos los niveles de enseñanza a nivel mundial, tengo poca confianza en iniciativas como esta. Sin la escuela Austríaca no se entiende Bitcoin, y eso es lo que hay que enseñar en las aulas para romper el molde.

Interesante pregunta colega, sin embargo personalmente no considero que bitcoin sea anónimo. Ya es bien sabido que este no lo es. Así que no hay nada que romper. Es cosa de trasear las transacciones pasadas para dar con el dueño.
Sin embargo si nos planteamos la misma pregunta pero con Monero, entonces podríamos armar un debate bastante interesante. Y la respuesta sería un NO rotundo.

Oh i forgot to mention something. This is not obvious, but always treat the powerlimit as if there were 3 boards. It doesn't matter if there are only two or one, it doesn't literally share the amount you input to the physical existing boards, but will try to give a third of it to each, even if there is only one.
But let it run at 300w just for fun (and science). I think some people had good results at 600w, another at 800w. Since you are limited to 900w, perhaps no more than 720w would be good.

Officially, no. Your designs could very well be used by merchants who wish to, but the original logo should remain as is. There is an unicode character for BTC, its ₿. It took nearly a decade to appear, changing it is not an option. This is exactly like the dollar symbol $, there are countless styles out there, but its officially the same. Same as £, €, ¥, etc... |

If you decide to try autotune, remember these two parameters: Powerlimit, and Target Temp. By default target temp is intentionally 89°, this probably makes the fans go even slower if left alone, but you can lower it if you want. And powerlimit indirectly tells it how much power it can use, and thus not exceed a certain speed voltage combination. With autotune, bosminer+ controls chip speeds individually.
You should wait until it shows "stable" before measuring power and noise. Good luck!
Autotune may let a few errors if it considers the hashrate to be more efficient even with some, so don't worry too much if you do see some, as long as the resulting hashrate / watt use is good. People have achieved even 69W/T so you should aim for something at least in the 70ies, 91 feels a bit too high... Oh but i guess you need 240v and not exceed 80% PSU capacity.
