Easy, use a membrane keyboard. Leave the fancy stuff for your gaming sessions at home/private room.

If you can't have a private room, don't buy fancy expensive stuff until you can.

You will never have "nice things" if your "room mates" don't behave. And if you take "revenge", it will only backfire.
1242  Other / Off-topic / Re: Electric car - do you like it? on: August 28, 2020, 07:52:18 PM
I don't like electric cars, because they are NOT as green as most people think. They run on batteries, but how do you produce electric power to charge that battery? You have to burn coal or use nuclear fuel or destroy a river if you want to construct hydro power Dam. So called "green" energy sources (wind, solar) are also not so green - the production of solar panels is very "dirty", and can somebody enlighten me how to ecologically dispose huge polyester laminate wind turbine blades?
Humankind must develop new ways of producing really green electrical energy (Thorium based nuclear reactor maybe?) first!

As opposed to burn fossil fuel with 20% efficiency? Well i don't mind if everyone used bicycles, and only occasionally electric cars but nothing else. Still next to ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) there is a TON of difference.

And, its not like people aren't consuming electricity anyway, even without cars all you said has occurred, so in addition you have fuel burning next to you. At the very least, moving it to the power plants would help the local environment in MANY places (think Beijin).

But yeah you can go vegan eco, please by all means use a bicycle and tell others to do so.

Mind you: solar panels last decades. Have you seen an oil refinery? You should. Its like comparing the ICE vs the electric motor inside a car... Oh and fossil fuel isn't eternal.

Funny that you bring the fast breeder while complaining about hydro... Might as well talk about fusion. Unfortunately you still need a way to put that power in the vehicle, you are not getting any thorium reactors in a car even tho they designed one for a plane in the 60ies. Yes, you are talking decades old technologies, and reactors do exist, but small, so "first" isn't. I think even India has some.
1243  Other / Off-topic / Re: Free Internet from Elon Musk on: August 28, 2020, 07:29:03 PM
What do you think about the new free Internet from Elon Musk? Is it true that you can connect to it for free? Or maybe we need to buy special equipment to catch the Internet from its satellites?

Starlink isn't free, where is your source to bring this claim? There have been closed beta testing with promising speed and latencies, many people in rural areas are interested in a satellite service that actually works but nowhere i have seen that this is "free", there are simply speculations about what would it cost monthly and there is the medium size pizza antenna (terminal) as well which is luckily easy to install because its phased array which pretty much means "self aiming".

And yes, you will have to pay for this antenna as well as a monthly fee.

Given the late youtube scams using Elon Musk name, i highly suspect this. Starlink is true and is serious, but "free internet" is not. It does however change the game for internet satellite, basically renders everybody else obsolete.
1244  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why is Discord so popular? on: August 28, 2020, 07:09:14 PM
The reason why Discord is popular is that it is much more useful in exchanging information than other sites. Although the telegram was good at first the demand for it has decreased due to the increase in the number of scams. Discord can be downloaded for free on Microsoft Windows, Mac-OS, Linux, iOS and Android and can be used without downloading in most internet browsers. So popular for exchanging text and voice channels and media on a Discord server.

What have scams to do with anything? Youtube is full of scams and people still use it.

In Telegram all you have to do is ignore any messages from random strangers saying "hi", and in the event they send you an unsolicited link/ad/referral you push the block button with the report spam function. When enough people do that the account gets penalized days in read only mode on first offense.

If you are in private group and your privacy settings are done correctly, such thing never happens.

To me Discord takes ages to load while TG desktop is instant. Of course whatsapp is worse, there can't ever be anything worse than that.

¿Clicar?

1249  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why is Discord so popular? on: August 26, 2020, 08:03:22 AM
slack now hardly anyone uses it anymore is full of scammers and maybe viruses, telegram is great and I use it with pleasure, but discord is superior because it offers voice channels and can only be accessed by invitation so it offers a higher degree of privacy

Telegram has private groups as well. I'm not really a fan of voice channels, but i imagine that is the same thing as mumble or teamspeak since Discord has always been game oriented.

1250  Other / Off-topic / Re: 💰Have you had a desire to open your own gambling business?💰 on: August 26, 2020, 07:55:12 AM
Back then when i am still addicted in gambling?yeah i always think of having my own gambling site or even small gambling place in my House but all have come to just a plan because first i have no capital and second i am more focus in playing and nothing comes regular about the plan.
Lucky that i never had a chance doing such because maybe that will end everything in me and even my family will leave me for sure.

That won't do, you cannot be addicted to something and run a succesfull business from it. Its like you open a hot dog stand but can't help eating them all yourself.

I guess it would be easier to just invest in the bankroll of a reputable (already made) site than risk starting your own and then having to compete.
1251  Other / Off-topic / Re: Your favorite soup on: August 26, 2020, 07:49:38 AM
I'd go with ramen made in Japan, not instant ramen (tho the japanese instant is the best, same brand in America sucks; ie. Maruchan Japan vs US).
That noddle soup is actually from China where its called lo mein or however its spelled, but each country added they flavor. Korea has theirs as well. The Chinese flavors are also good. Maybe i should mention wanton mein while i am at it. Hmm hard choice...
1252  Other / Off-topic / Re: Electric car - do you like it? on: August 26, 2020, 07:40:16 AM
Sooner than later all cars will be electric. You just cannot escape it. See cameras, all digital now. Where is your film camera? And the economies of scale will drive the price down. Already China has lots of 1k USD golf cart like things that don't go fast but get the job done and its a massive hit there. Then you can go all the way up until the 100k USD Teslas. Even those, are far much simpler than ICE vehicles. Look at them both inside and compare.

Its like comparing CRT with LED monitors. Its a tremendous magnitude of complexity in difference. And yes, i guess CRT vs LED is also a valid analogy.

Even if you love your ICE, gas stations will slowly shrink and keep disappearing. When was the last time you saw a video tape rental or film developing shop? ICE cars had their century of glory, but their time has come to an end. Say goodbye to vroom, and hello to wheez or whatever.
1253  Other / Off-topic / Re: Please tell me how to start income from youtube ? on: August 26, 2020, 07:29:29 AM
Isn't obvious? Make original content everyone wants to watch. What? that might be the tricky part. But once you find it, you can monetize it. I think the cut youtube takes a a little on the too much side, maybe other streaming services would suit you better, such as twitch for streaming video gameplays, etc.

There are people who make truly marvelous things over the years. Have you seen that music Marble Machine? Still going strong, an engineer/musician dream.

Or i don't know, there are infinite things people like. You don't have to cater to all and master none, its best to focus and what you can do best. Teach a language, review things, i don't know its infinite, watch the others...
1254  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why is there something, rather than nothing? on: August 26, 2020, 07:18:43 AM
A very philosophical question that bypasses physics, maths and religions. I don't expect someone to answer it since there is no answer, but I would like to have a discussion about it.

Physicists study what exists. Although they (may) know what happened since the big bang. Some of them have studied of what may happen after trillions of years.

Before and after huh? It gets better BlackHatCoiner. Their calculations indicate that, time itself wasn't moving before "big bang"...

You say it "bypasses", but that's actually THE reason for religion and even the sciences. Ie: Where do we come from, and where do we go. And whats the logic behind it. Some call this "meta" (physics, etc).

It may happen that we may never get an answer in our lifetime, which is so convenient. You may or may not get an answer afterwards, without any way to tell back the living. But wait, did you not notice the part about time flow?

Time is elastic, so elastic its not even funny. It might escape the minds of many the importance of this. The cosmic time in the "blink of an eye".
And, apparently, such things also happen if you get too close to a blackhole. They say you get spaguettified to infinity... Nobody could actually try it and be able to send back the results. Nothing you send past the event horizon returns, kinda like death.

If there are parallel universes, nothing we say or think on this one necessarily applies elsewhere, but you cannot observe it, at least not in this state of existence. You could also say we come from infinite and go into infinite. Popping in and out of existence, like in quantum physics...

1256  Other / Off-topic / Re: streaming alternative on: August 23, 2020, 03:20:19 AM
I don't get why people call this 'Streaming'...

The streaming is when we send over internet the signal, it could be a game, it could be our webcam, or it could be anything else, As example we can see sites like twitch. There we will find tons of real streamers doing their thing. The sites you are sharing in this thread are site to watch movies. I don't think stream is the right way to call them.

It is streaming because you are not downloading the movie but watching it straight from that web site. Its exactly the same thing done by Youtube, Twitch, Netflix, Hulu and the others. Only the content would change. It IS video on demand.

More importantly, it usually uses the old server / client method, rather than the more bandwidth efficient (but less controllable) p2p.

Of course one could argue that downloading a movie you could also start watching it before it finishes and delete it as soon as you finish watching would be almost the same thing.

Streaming does not mean "live". Live content is usually streamed, but it can also be saved so people can download it later. For audio they sometimes call this a "podcast" due to a historical reason (the iPod).

In the end, Streaming means: You start watching/listening before the data "finishes" downloading. For some sources, this data might be endless. Yes, Digital Television is also form of streaming.
1257  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Braiins OS: open-source mining firmware [S9, T1]. New release includes AsicBoost on: August 23, 2020, 02:28:50 AM
Thanks for your feedback.

Unfortunately Braiins OS doesn't show "Best Share" in the Summary table of the web UI, it exists if you poll it via API command, but i doubt the source did at the time. So now I'm requesting this field to be added to the Summary table (the one you see in that screen capture), and hopefully someone in the future will share it when they find another block.
1258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin maximalists are doing more harm to the crypto space than good ? on: August 23, 2020, 12:39:25 AM
Nonsense. Bitcoin is the only coin, and Satoshi they maker. Smiley

There is no such thing as "crypto space", there is Bitcoin, and there are altcoins. Bitcoin works, altcoins, no so much.

Maximalism? Sounds like someone just want to talk about altcoins, and there is a forum area for altcoins.

There is no problem to talk about Bitcoin which is the whole point of this place. You should be thankful you can discuss the altcoins in its respective area.

What harm are you even talking about? The altcoins have benefited from the open source nature of Bitcoin. Everyone is free to believe or not in them, but don't expect you can sneak them in the wrong area just because you like them.

And the people who do not believe in altcoins, should not be forced to listen about them either. That doesn't make them "Maximalists", there is just Bitcoin, and that is that.
1259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: key safety strategies? on: August 23, 2020, 12:05:18 AM
Never handle private keys only handle seed words written on paper with your own hands. No electronic devices near it ever. No pics, no copy, paste, no printing, no cameras, no scanners etc.

The seed words internally recreate the key, but they are NOT the same. You should never handle private keys directly.

The S17 support isn't ready, but i think the Pro has a good chance, as long as you haven't updated the firmware.
Key point: Don't upgrade.
