In 1976 Ronald Wayne sold his 10% share in Apple computers for $800.  If he had held his stake today it would be worth $60,000,000,000 (60 billion).  This why i will never sell my Bitcoin for fiat, i'll keep it till i dont have to.  Cool

But that guy is 82 years old now. How long do you think we would last before we start selling our coins as well?  Grin I don't want to wait till I am a grandpa before I can enjoy my life to the fullest. What is the point of that?

P.S. I am going to throw a paper wallet in a bank vault and wait till the year of 2030 to open it again  Grin Grin Grin

I was under the impression software patents only exist in USA but it seems they also exist in Britain, are they exclusive to Britain or are they shared with USA?

Isn't gambling kind of illegal or highly restricted in USA?

Wright and his friend are trying to file global patents not limited to the USA and Britain. Actually they are trying to file them under a company based in Antigua. Gambling is not illegal in the USA, it's regulated with the exception of some states where it's banned I think. Here are some excerpts about this:

Quote
Reuters has previously reported that Wright was filing patents through a company called EITC Holdings, which is based in Antigua.

Ayre lives in Antigua, and EITC Holdings is headed by associates of Ayre, according to one source close to Wright and one with direct knowledge of his business, as well as corporate documents reviewed by Reuters. Australian Stefan Matthews, who began working for Ayre in 2011, was a director of EITC Holdings until at least late 2016. It isn't clear if he's still associated with the company. Canadian Robert MacGregor, another long-term Ayre associate, was a director of EITC Holdings until mid-April 2016. The documents do not disclose the shareholders of the company.

Quote
The range of patent applications lodged by Wright and colleagues is wide. Five, registered on Dec. 14, were made by EITC Holdings with the bland description “computer-implemented method and system,” public filings show. One, registered on Dec. 28, was described as “Determining a common secret for two blockchain nodes for the secure exchange of information” - apparently a way to use the blockchain to exchange encrypted data. Other applications by Wright and his associates relate to sports betting and a blockchain-based operating system for simple electronic devices.

Quote
Emails from Wright to Ayre’s associate Matthews, reviewed by Reuters, set out plans to file 150 patents. A person with direct knowledge of Wright’s businesses said he and associates ultimately aim to file closer to 400. None has been approved so far and it’s not clear whether the patents would be enforceable if granted, but Wright’s associates have been quoted as saying the patents could be sold “for upwards of a billion dollars.”

Quote
They face stiff competition from other players who are spending significant sums to explore blockchain’s potential. About 70 banks (and Thomson Reuters) have joined a company called R3, which is examining whether blockchain could cut costs in the way financial markets execute transactions. A spokesperson for R3 did not respond to requests for comment.

Wright and his friend are Bitcoin patent trolls.

Ayre said last year that he saw a “growing convergence” of bitcoin and online gambling, according to the website CalvinAyre.com. Documents reviewed by Reuters show Wright’s links to online gambling go back decades and that bitcoin grew out of code originally developed with gambling in mind. Early bitcoin code, seen by Reuters and analysed by a computer coding consultant with no ties to Wright or any blockchain-related project, contains unimplemented functions related to poker.

Hmm so now it appears that Wright has been deep in online gambling for years and Bitcoin has emerged from code aimed towards gambling applications? This is new to me lol. I am pretty sure Wright and his friend the gambling tycoon are trying to patent squat here and collect some cash from infringements.
1905  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2016/17 on: March 02, 2017, 01:30:10 PM
I have 2 pretty much straightforward bets for the La Liga matches tonight - both teams to score in Deportivo La Coruna - Atl. Madrid & Sevilla - Ath Bilbao. Previous H2H games have finished with goals from both sides & the odds are fine as well so I am going with these today. Good luck everyone  Wink
1906  Economy / Services / Re: Financial aid needed in exchange for music on: March 02, 2017, 01:17:43 PM
From the outside it looks like you are asking for straight up donations and offering something to soften to blow for the donors mate. If you want to make some honest cash it would be better to sell your services rather than accept donations but it's up to you.
1907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any Good and Reliable Retail Stores that Accept Bitcoin? on: March 02, 2017, 11:57:48 AM
for electronic stuff i used caseking, and it's very reliable and customers service is very nice and polite, they solve rma fast if you have issue

the onyl bnad thing about is that the average price is a little expensive compared to amazon or ebay, but you can use bitcoin directly there, and the shipping is also very fats, 2 business days

CaseKing are a German PC equipment reseller right? Do they ship overseas or only do local shipments? I tried finding some info about shipping on their front page but there is nothing there. Some stuff I am looking for isn't on Amazon so knowing about new Bitcoin-friendly online shops is much appreciated.

Barcelona - Gijon

Neymar will have at least 2 shots on goal @ 1.90 odds.

Good luck everyone.
You should have gone with suarez rather than Neymar because Neymar doesn't play center-forward so he doesn't get too many chances to shoot but Suarez who plays center-forward does . Anyways Smiley Hope you win the bet.

The bet is won. Central forwards don't always get the most shots on goal by the way. Neymar had the highest odds among the 3. Just saying  Grin

But Fairlay is a betting exchange and not a sportsbook. The odds you see are set by other players. It's possible that your bets won't be always matched on these particular lines for these particular odds. By the way if you want even less juice you could set some lines yourself and hope that someone will take your offer.

Goddamn it if Leicester score 3 today I will be so mad because the odds were 10.5 and I was thinking of taking it as well just for fun but thought there was not a chance this could happen but yet again I should expect the unexpected  Grin Luckily I just hit the juicy odds of 3.75 for the 2 goals at half time so I am happy  Cheesy I didn't have the balls to take a straight Leicester win though.
1917  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: February 27, 2017, 08:07:21 PM
I just took Leicester to score a goal @ 1.55 & Leicester 2 goals or more @ 3.75. Also have BTTS @ 1.90. You never know in these games where desperate times call for desperate measures. The odds are so high they are not to be missed. I hope for some goals tonight Grin

This match between Leicester City and Liverpool is very tricky. The win is necessary for both teams for different reasons - Liverpool to climb back in the top 3 and Leicester to get out of the relegation zone. I think the most obvious pick in important games like this is the draw so that's what I am going with today. Full time draw  Wink
