1221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IT is WAR. Split again. BTC will crash on: July 25, 2017, 05:47:01 PM
It looks like we will have 1 Bitcoin with the longest chain and 2 alt coins come November - BTC, UAHF BitcoinCash and hardforked SegWit2x. I am not sure who is going to have the longest chain and essentially win over the user base, the miner base and all the businesses. My guess would be between BTC and SegWit2x coin. Hopefully everything will be sorted out in favor of the users and not in favor of the miners and a couple of greedy whales. Better to buckle up because after August 1 the road is gonna be very bumpy. I hope the true Bitcoin for the users will survive.
A very gloomy picture you have drawn. I am a positive person so I believe that after August 1 there will be nothing. Miners have nowhere to go. Processing transactions can themselves users, and that will produce the miners? No I believe that there will be no split.

This has nothing to do with being a positive person or not. BTC can't continue in its current state and it will fork sooner or later. August 1 seems like the first phase already. Just drop the rose glasses and see the reality for what it is  Cool

mammabitcoin2u wants some green trust obviously. Or has a lot of free time to bicker around for nothing.
1225  Economy / Reputation / Re: [POLL] Should OgNasty be removed as a forum treasurer? on: July 24, 2017, 08:00:30 PM
I don't even know who the remaining treasurers are?
The only living treasurer (other than theymos) is currently OgNasty. paraipan is still holding the forum's Bitcoin, but I don't think I have to say why he isn't relevant. However, the source hasn't been updated in a while so I may be wrong.

Is this the deceased guy? I think I have heard the coins he was holding couldn't be retrieved and were lost a while ago. Or am I mistaken?
1226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 10 ETH or 1 BTC? on: July 24, 2017, 07:53:26 PM
Split your investments 50:50 or 30:70 in favor of Bitcoin. Also after the fork Bitcoin on the main chain might go down considerably in price so you could buy then and net more profit.
1227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin take over, and Fiat will be gone? on: July 24, 2017, 07:34:55 PM
Will that happen? I'm really excited if that will happen. What do you think?

Nope.

End of story  Cool

Why did you write on my trust wall that I am an alt of OGNasty? I need to disinfect my browser with chlorine every time I visit this wreck of a forum  Grin

Thanks for the laugh!

That's nuthin I had guys trying to crowd fund a hitman to wack me here.

Did they at least write in proper English like so many purists preach on here or did they have minimum 5 typos in every sentence?

What a shit show! Can Coinbase staff recover the refunded coins though? It's not like they are completely lost right?

1234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 23, 2017, 03:25:27 PM
New to Byteball, love the tech behind everything. This question has probably been asked, but what are the future thoughts on price?

eventually 16 btc : 1 Gbyte

Huh really? That ratio would be absolutely incredible  Grin

P.S. Do you mind telling me what makes you think Byteball will be so valuable in the future? Thanks! Wink

Ultimately you would need to
Quote
run a full Bitcoin node to make sure you are on the right chain.

Or you can try to split your coins using the Electrum wallet without having to double-check with a full node:

1236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies and bet fraud (match fixing) on: July 23, 2017, 01:31:21 PM
The top flight sportsmen are too wealthy anyways and don't need to take part in any fixed matches me thinks. There might be something going on in the lower leagues and the amateur level where the salaries are low enough so that players might be willing to do something on the side to earn some extra cash. It's definitely plausible but very hard or nearly impossible to prove.
1237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Cash - Fork 1:1 of Bitcoin - Pro on-chain scaling on: July 23, 2017, 06:52:29 AM
Is there any chance for our private keys getting stolen when we import them in a possible rogue BitcoinABC wallet?
1238  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ** BITTREX isn't upfront about their scam tactics ** on: July 21, 2017, 07:32:38 PM
I have deposited multiple times on Bittrex without getting my account locked. I think they are a solid exchange and won't participate in any funny business without reason. Maybe your account raised some red flags or something.

By the way the basic verification is not so painful. It's information about you which is publicly available anyway. You could fill this in and see how it goes.

And exchanges by presumption are not anonymous. What else do you expect?
1239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The OFFICIAL SegWit2x Lock-in Thread on: July 21, 2017, 06:55:53 PM
If I have my btc stored on my electrum wallet will I be safe from a split? Or should i go with paper?

You are safe when you own the private keys to your Bitcoins. Because when the fork happens you can choose which chain to claim coins on.
1240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BIP 91 lock-in period on: July 20, 2017, 09:40:51 PM
It ll get locked in within a next few hours. Then the next 3 days stage starts. BTC price has already recognized this. What about alts?

Looks like people are selling their alt stashes and buying Bitcoins. Probably to cash out to fiat is my guess. Next week will be insane I think. Bitcoin will enter crazy town lol.
