1901  Other / Meta / Re: What do you think about adding a Physical Cryptocurrency section to the forum? on: August 17, 2015, 02:32:08 PM
there is a number of threads about this in meta already.

aaand

Haven't really thought about it much, and not sure it's needed, but a more general PM (precious metals) board would make more sense, and would likely gain more support. Lot of overlap there.
1902  Other / Meta / Re: Guys, there is no censorhip. Stop crying ok? Here read this: on: August 17, 2015, 02:16:48 PM

Unless you already have 90% consensus, then you need to completely shut your mouth about any proposed hard fork because it is too "contentious" and might give the mods a headache. Any hard fork that doesn't instantly gain consensus should never be talked about unless you have some unbelievable, never-before-heard-by-mankind level of information about it. If you do have such info, then you get to make one single thread about it, and one thread only, so you better make it a thread that is so good that 90% of bitcoiners are in favor of the hard fork. If that one thread doesn't get 90% approval, then tough luck Chuck, because you will need to uncover yet another Earth-shattering, mind-bending, science-defying piece of info about the hard fork if you ever want to make even a single more thread about it. But if you want to make spam posts about shitty alts like Paycoin then, please, be my guest.

1903  Other / Meta / Re: How to unban an account? on: August 17, 2015, 01:52:03 PM
this kind of topics belongs in meta. and posting outside of meta while you're banned is considered a ban evasion.

if you're asking this I assume the ban message didn't specify how long you have to wait before the ban is lifted, which means that you got perma-banned. your only option is to wait for months before coming back and make an appeal. but there are some cases where a ban won't be lifted no matter how long you wait.

And please can somebody confirm that i have the exact signature for Jr.members Huh

yes. but the bot is unable to detect the code. which is why you (and other Jr. Members, I bet) are not enrolled yet.

just when I hoped they changed the story from the anime adaption, they didn't.  Undecided

Smells like you are being scammed or whatever. Don't pay shit to anyone if asked.

I assume OP is talking about the fee you have to pay to use Bitcointalk if your IP is blacklisted.
That feature was implemented to combat spammers among other things.

I didn't even know such a thing (feature) existed. Is there a post somewhere detailing this information? Not that I expect to need it, just this post aroused my curiosity on how/why it was implemented.

couldn't find any "official" thread about it. but there's an explanation posted by theymos here.

stake your address at tomatocage's thread if you plan to use your new bitcoin address
but I guess someone is funding your loan by now from your other thread

What is the use of staking the old btc address to that thread. [1] ? And after staking the btc address, can i use a new fresh btc address here on forum[2] ? Plz clear my confusion.

[1] so that you can point to that post when you need to prove your ownership. it's not really needed if you already posted that address somewhere else on this forum

[2] you can use a new fresh btc address anytime. just make sure you don't lose the private key of the old address because someone might ask for a signed message from the staked address.
1909  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.10 btc loan on: August 16, 2015, 05:42:15 PM
-snip-

that's why I said it doesn't matter. because it proves nothing at all.  Wink

but I see Gelbstich already sent the funds to the old address. this problem should be solved for the moment.
1910  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.10 btc loan on: August 16, 2015, 05:25:44 PM
That signature doesn't check out for me, are you sure you didn't edit the message at all after signing?

it doesn't matter. it's the owner of 1A7RdYVo6rVmPXLHeeHqnTym7otCNmCDPb saying he owns 1BPFKnxAENaxp26g8QbWKUWMuedRo5ZjDY, not the other way around.

though looks like someone is willing to send to the old address. which I think is all good unless the sender values his anonymity a lot.

Secret facility or a millipede-mountain?

is it one of those smelly types? have you tried poking it with a stick to see if it will curl up?
1913  Other / Meta / Re: Your IP HAS SOME EVIL POINTS? on: August 16, 2015, 01:55:29 PM
well yeah of course i use tor/proxy whats the point if i am not being anonymous ???and plus as i already said i dont care to give away some coins but "you are charging someone who is innocent"

no way to know that on the internet, I'm afraid. not like the forum can single out innocents from evils when they're using the same IP.  Roll Eyes
1914  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: My doubt about signing bitcoin sign message. on: August 16, 2015, 01:47:47 PM
you wouldn't be having a hard time right now if you had asked the loan to be sent to that address, .

What you want to say ? Be more specific bro. I don't understand what you have said.

people wouldn't have asked you to sign a message from that address when you want the btc to be sent to that address.

1917  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Speaks. Real? Hoax? on: August 15, 2015, 11:32:56 PM
anyone that claims to be satoshi without signing a PGP message with his key is going to be ruled out as fake. why ask?

TBH he never ever signed anything. Probably on purpose  Grin

yeah, I've read about it. but it doesn't change the fact that people won't be willing to accept anyone that claims to be satoshi without some sort of proof.
1918  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts regarding "satoshis" post today on the mailing list? on: August 15, 2015, 11:28:46 PM
The message doesn't give the vibe of the real Satoshi.

yeah. but Satoshi never made any rage post before, right? so who knows...

-snip-
Yet since he left, we've seen 1 occurrence to clear Dorian's name, and this today expressing his disappointment on the block size issue.  If anyone other than Satoshi held control of those accounts, I wager that position would be milked dry for personal gain.

It was not Satoshi who wrote the post "I am not Dorian Nakamoto".
That was the person who re-registered his account after it expired.
GMX.com confirmed it and, I think, has locked that account now from registration.

And for what its worth, IMO I don't think Satoshi Nakamoto is alive anymore.

aaand that guy emailed theymos asking for coins. even go as far as threatening to hitman theymos.

You can use a proxy or tor browser to acces banned ip sites.
Download tor, wait to configure and surf anonymous on the internet.
Don't pay for shit services.

except we're not talking about that...  Tongue read unholycactus' post above yours for clarification.
