1901  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can someone familiar with FTX help me explain this? on: May 16, 2022, 07:07:13 AM
Thanks for sharing this; I didn't know that that kind of thing would happen. I have been trading the spot market in FTX for a year now, and I haven't encountered something like this. I would've understood that if it was smaller, maybe less than $1, but a negative ~$13 is a lot without you knowing about it. Perhaps it's an automatic thing with the mobile application or something. An automatic borrow might be if the balance is less than intended when buying an asset.

Do you have subaccounts there? And please update us on what's going to happen and why that happened.
1902  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is everyone that got in late last year in the red now ? How bad is it ? on: May 16, 2022, 02:49:01 AM
I know some people who just got into crypto last year, and I think they regret some of their decisions, but they would only want to profit in the short term. They want quick and easy gains, and I do not think that has a lot of chances when you are trying to chase profits instead of being consistent.

The best way is to preserve capital and knows that you can win the trading game if you are consistent enough.
1903  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: could TERRA LUNA go back to $1 dollar? on: May 15, 2022, 11:49:38 AM
I don't think it will come back anymore to that price, and it might just be the end of Luna. It has just collapsed to the floor and can never go back to its original glory with what happened to it. It's like making Bitcoin history again with the price increase you will make. It can be a gamble on what it could be again, but that's speculation.
1904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do Anyone Think Luna Will Recover? on: May 12, 2022, 11:59:07 PM
I did see some exchanges halting trading with Luna. It's definitely a sad time for those who have already bought something of it and then just lost a lot because of it. Maybe it will tarnish but it can be recovered? You will never know. It's always going to be with the developer that has started it. Maybe they would find a way but it would be very difficult and it would take time.
1905  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don’t rush to buy Bitcoin on: May 12, 2022, 03:27:51 PM
The better approach to this is to buy at whatever price and then average it down continuously. It's better to spread out evenly within the week. Maybe you can get a better average buy-in price because you will never know when it will go down or perhaps go up in price now. It's now or never.

No one can predict the future, so best to buy at your best.
1906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk won't save Doge or Bitcoin this time on: May 12, 2022, 02:04:58 PM
Well, I think the hype about Elon and the influence that he has now has died down. Maybe if he has something behind his sleeves, then maybe he could somehow influence again the market, basically the people. He is always on the news with all the plans that he has so it's not surprising if he would be able to plan something and make something happen.

As for Doge, it turned to a s*itcoin anyway thanks to Mr. Musk.
Doge has always been a shitcoin because it was made to be one. To be accurate, a meme coin. Isn't Elon the reason why Doge raised in value? So how can you say that?
1907  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Recovery seed generate online through popular wallets on: May 11, 2022, 10:05:22 AM
Of course you need internet connection if you are going to generate in some applications. I know that some apps require you to send information or something to them and then while creating a wallet, you would re-enter the seed for them to completely verify.

I do think that it's a bad idea but you need to be sure that your device is safe and secured in terms of viruses or malware.

The best thing that you could do, if you are going to regularly use wallets, is that you need to have a reliable hardware wallet, just like what the other members recommended.
1908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Ethereum at risk of serious losses on: May 11, 2022, 09:08:59 AM
This would be true if many people wanted it to happen. There are no other people who would want that to happen except those who have a lot of money, to begin with. So they can buy more of it. You are saying the risk exists way before anything else, so it's still best to consider other ways to prevent that, right?

We all don't want risk, so we want to take advantage of the market by checking if they will go up in price. Other coins have been skydiving now, and that's the risk involved in investing, and that's just reality. We cannot predict 100%.

The best way to stay alive in the market is to be emotionless and stop losses.
1909  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trading Bitcoin and crypto "could destroy your life", go to rehab hehehe on: May 11, 2022, 05:40:08 AM
I never viewed cryptocurrency like that as how Stevie Rojas, the main character in the article, has been experiencing. It's probably going to be addicting for some people because it's like a new type of entertainment for them that would be beneficial if you have made the right decisions. Imagine it like this in a step-by-step scenario.
  • Stevie discovers and learns about cryptocurrency
  • You can earn money if you trade and then start trading
  • When you win, you get the rush (like gambling)
  • You look continuously look forward to that rush

It's the recipe for addiction, and the article has described it very well. And I hope that everyone understands that it's not just them, but everyone could be or already is suspected of that, and you need to evaluate yourself to see if it's doing you any good.

The main takeaway of this should be that if you aren't careful with yourself and let yourself cave in, you will lose yourself.
1910  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what is the best investment for the next halving? on: May 11, 2022, 02:37:28 AM
First of all, welcome, Thiagofelipe! I hope you find the time to stay here and give some inputs or outputs here in the forum and, of course, use the search bar before anything else; maybe there are topics similar to your inquiries.

Anyway, I don't think age and your race would be a factor in having the long-term investment. You should have in mind why you are doing it in the first place and what plans you would have when you are older. I admire young people trying to think about their future immediately and people like you, who have this in their mind to be successful.

As for the Bitcoin halving, it's still best to get all the BTC that you can and make it your investment in the long run. As someone who believes in BTC, I'm biased towards it, but I think it is for good reasons.
1911  Economy / Economics / Re: Tanzania's Move to Introducing Their own Central Bank Digital Currency on: May 10, 2022, 06:58:30 PM
Do you think once they have settled it all, they will affect the entire countries interested in creating their CBDCs? The total benefit of this would be the part where countries are trading against other currencies with their CBDCs.
1912  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is it all about? on: May 10, 2022, 01:58:38 PM
There are a lot of wallets that offer this feature but one thing that reminded me is Coldkey[1] by yogg. It looks like it's one of the coolest ones out there for cold keys. But there are other wallets too that you can try though. As long as you have set it up the right way, you would be fine.

1913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Farm search with the best APY on: May 09, 2022, 07:24:34 PM
It wouldn't be best to determine a project based on its APY. I think you can have a high APY, but that coin's value might be non-existent or something.

Some stuff is incomplete based on the site, though I don't think it's enough to establish.

OP, how do you use the site? Do you have any history on it?
1914  Economy / Gambling / Re: I miss the old OnChain gambling on: May 09, 2022, 04:12:24 PM
I remember something like DirectBet? IIRC. I know that it will already give you a unique address on this specific match/event when it comes to depositing etc. It's like the funds is on hold there then sent to you a new one on an address that you provided. Oh I remember the days. It was easy to play etc. I know that there are politics too there.
It's easy because it's automatic, however, I think that would not be too attractive especially if the transaction fee is very expensive. It was  very popular gambling site back in the day but they just suddenly stopped their business, probably due to regulatory problem.
I know, the fees are definitely a thing but with its anonymity, it's great. And the fees with BTC are not high anymore so I think it wouldn't be a problem now. I do remember DirectBet it being great but suddenly stopping their business. Maybe there could be something similar operating now?
1915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you want to live a peaceful life? Without drama? Then HODL and enjoy the ride on: May 09, 2022, 04:10:10 PM
This would be a great way if you are always going to be positive and see the things that BTC can give. You know that you are going to be able to "diamond hands" it all the way because you know where you stand on it. If you focus on one thing, you can definitely be unaffected by the price changes because overall, you can see the view and the positive things it can give in the long run. Just HODL.

1917  Economy / Speculation / Re: 33333 on: May 09, 2022, 09:59:42 AM
If there were a full bearish mode for everything, do you think everyone would stick around? I think it will still be the same that weak hands will be shaken once they have reached a specific price, so maybe at this point, it could be your 22222 predictions or something, but at that time, there would still be another speculation that it could go even lower like 11111, it's all speculation.  Cheesy

We all want everything to come back to 44444 or 55555, or even 66666; it could all be a coincidence. One thing is for sure: there would be something of a catalyst that could make the people's behavior into buying more of it, etc.
1918  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 3 Applications of AI & Machine Learning in Cryptocurrency Trading and Investing on: May 09, 2022, 09:03:43 AM
It's been a while since this topic was posted, and it's not bad for information for AI and ML to be discussed because I think there is potential with that, and ordinary people that manage to take advantage of this could benefit from it for sure.

For the Sentiment Analysis:
If you had large enough data and checked all the different parameters that there could be, you could arrive at some conclusion that it would be wise to invest in the results. Like it's going in with the wave of emotions and "sentiments" of people, and if you could detect or predict the initial start of it, you might have some breakthrough with AI and ML with this.

For On-Chain Analysis:
This would be great if you have a specific chain that you look forward to investing in. Either you will have reinforcement on what you believe in, or it will be something that you would advise yourself to go out. I think that's one of the ways it could help you as an investor.

For Deep Reinforcement Learning:
This requires more data; maybe if this could be combined with the other two analyses above, it would be unstoppable and have a greater chance of getting the correct prediction.

But they can't. They can limit the max bet on a game, cap it, but they can't lower the potential. Think about the latest nolimit city, potential of 300kX...
Not the max bet, i think but the max winnings. So I did understand correctly, the thing that they can do is just have the max winnings set, right? Is that what you mean by this? I didn't know that there's a 300kx multi on some games though.

It's good that you have managed to update this thread because it's been a while. Ever since December, that would've been really frustrating unless it's just side money to you or something. That's a lot of money we are talking about.

With your thread, for sure it's going to be some type of hindrance towards other players because of the following that you have presented.
  • Immediately banning you instead of explaining that they can't pay you
  • Incomplete terms with KYC/AML
  • No reach out to accusations like this

I'm just not sure on how they are bringing down the slot potentials because I know it's for the developers thing, right?
