1921  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today is the story of my investment in Bitcoin on: December 26, 2022, 02:33:27 PM
When I see posts like this, it irritates me. I don't think it's a good idea to bet so much on something volatile. You take a risk that you are willing to bear on your own. If you wish to invest in Bitcoin, do so with your own money rather than a loan. You don't have to buy the entire Bitcoin; you can buy a portion. If the price rises, that's good; if it doesn't, you know it's your money, and no one will come and question you about it.

Relax, don't get so riled up because there are some certain things that we cannot control. I understand what you feel but we can't do anything about it as the OP chose to take that path where it's so risky. Let him do some mistakes as that is his own way to learn things, he chose to learn it expensively though.

While it's good to own 1BTC but we don't need to be hasty about it especially if we cannot really afford owning one. OP might have forgot that owning a fraction of it still counts and it's still profitable considering that we're just investing what we can afford and it's just a spare that won't be a liability in the future. I know that bitcoin's future is bring but owning one by loaning? That's just certainly a bad wild idea to begin with.
1922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 26, 2022, 01:21:02 PM
There's no way the Memphis will be able to come back in this game, they are down by 19 points now with 10 minutes remaining the 4th quarter. I thought that the Warriors are bad without Curry but they are really good at home and they continue their dominant performance at home.

Poole is taking the lead, he is a real deal so congrats to Warriors bettors, especially those who bet on the moneyline.

Right, the Warriors defended their home well and successfully defeated the Grizzlies even without Stephen Curry in the line. Seems like no Curry, no problem today but I don't think they'll be consistent about that as that's one of the issues they needed to overcome too.

Frankly, I was expecting the Grizzlies to dominate the court but the Warriors didn't let that happen as they didn't even let the visiting team win a single round. Credits to Jordan Poole who led the team and exploded by contributing 32 points with just 29 minutes of playing on the court, quite impressive.
1923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 26, 2022, 12:59:30 PM
That will only happen if Westbrook will get traded, they might benefit from the drama of the Chicago Bulls, and maybe Westbrook will be traded for Lavine or DeRozan, who knows, right? Davis, on the other hand, has only one problem, which is his inconsistency to stay healthy which is definitely not his fault, however, the faith of the Lakers every season heavily relied upon him.

It's really hard to trade Westbrook because of how he is currently playing and obviously he is not really effective for his team. If they can only put some effort into decreasing his worth a little, maybe the other teams will gonna gamble to acquire him and will gonna give them a decent offer that is hard to decline. The problem with the Lakers is, they think of Westbrook as an important asset that they can trade for the same price to the other team which really not going to work at all.

I'm starting to think that Westbrook might not get traded this season, not because the Lakers don't want him to but because of his current salary. The teams wouldn't want to waste some resources for a superstar that isn't playing like a superstar anymore and I forgot that the Westbrook's contract is until this season only, so I'm thinking that teams will just find him in the free agency where his salary is not high as well.
1924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: December 26, 2022, 02:46:11 AM
This is an embarassing exhibition fight for Manny in my opinion. Nevermind that he always show his A-Game everytimr he boxes, but the fact of the matter is that an elite boxer with so many titles and belts under his wing is so agreeing to fight an obscure YouTuber let alone someone who doesn't have boxing experience prior is what made the fans just throw a thumbs down on this one. At least with Jake and Mayweather we can accept that. The fact that Jake is a very successful star and influencer, with boxing experience to boot is what made the fight fun for the viewers. Manny vs. DK Yoo just looked like a one-sided after-school meet-me-behind-the-school battle.

Compare to Jake vs Mayweather, that's a pure exhibition match with no charity involved or something.

This exhibition fight between Pacquiao and DK Yoo does have a good purpose and you can search for where they will share part of their money.

As long as Manny will be involved in exhibition matches for a good reason and not just entertainment, should be no problem with that.

Jake? You mean Logan Paul, Jake's older brother who fought Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition match. By the way, that said bout was a sore in the eye because it wasn't an exhibition match really to give people some entertainment but rather it's like a regular sparring match, a boring one where it's too clear that they're just in for the money and not thinking about what the people came for.

Manny Pacquiao on the other hand, he can always up his exhibition bouts in the future by fighting a much known boxer or fighter and I just don't get why he chose an unknown fighter on his 1st exhibition bout. That way, his purpose to donate in a charity will be maximized as the revenues that will be generated is far more greater than what they earned in their recent fight.
1925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cock fight game on: December 26, 2022, 02:32:31 AM

I don't know how people feel seeing animals fighting for their life and gamblers betting on them, I used to see some young men with dogs wrestling each around my environment, and most times I use to feel bad that those dogs are being maltreated.
I think the government should put in place some law that protects animals, and anyone found wanting should face the rout of the law because animals are not getting the necessary protection their to deserve and their owners choose to do whatever their wish to the point of gambling on the life of those animals. Cock fighting is not too popular nowadays.

Yup, the government is the one that needs to act in order to lessen this kind of gambling, but like what I mentioned before from my replies, even the government will apply rules. There are still people who will continue.

They are capable to do perform it illegally since there are still gamblers who are willing to take
the risk and bet or bring their roster for a cockfight in an illegal arena.

That's also the reason why the government is not taking this matter into their hands and just let the public enjoy it freely because they already know that banning it will just worsen the situation. They'll be playing hide and seek with these gamblers all along and waste resources again, so now, they are just riding with it because the revenue will be a big help. Harsh truth, I reckon because these animals are experiencing cruelties just to give people some entertainment.
1926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 25, 2022, 11:35:26 AM
Until there are changes in the Lakers roster, I am not giving them a serious chance of landing the 8th spot, although I am not taking it away the chance to secure a playoff spot thru the play-ins.
1927  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear market likely over? on: December 25, 2022, 10:39:10 AM
There's no way we could able to determine if its already over or we are still needing to wait for more longer years or months to come.

It will only be over once the bull run will start, also, at the current price, it's not safe yet if this will stop at this range, anything can happen mate, this is crypto and everything is very unpredictable, the only thing that I'm certain is when the price is too low, that's a sign that we should already invest.

We usually have a good December, but this time the price is very low, so let's take this opportunity to invest rather than worrying market situation.
1928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: December 25, 2022, 10:14:35 AM
This is one of the most expected fights for next year. While Spence is being called out to defend the WSB Title, Thurman will do everything he can to take the title away from Spence. I expect to see a tight fight but believe Spence will defend the title until the end and will not allow Thurman to have an easy job. That said, I believe Spence will hold his title and come up with a win from this fight

For sure this fight will be the greatest fight in 2023 because in this division this two fighters is good and have an unstoppable record. But this fight for sure Spence will be the favorite for gamblers and the fans but this fight will be the best for thurman as they fight for the belt so thurman will do his best to beat spence to claim the belt and a champion as well but spence will do the same.

Not the greatest because it's not a battle of champions, there's only one champion here and that is Spence, maybe one of the greatest as I'm pretty sure we will have to witness plenty of championship fights next year. Anyhow, this fight should happen as Thurman vs Spence is just a great match up, they could have fought when they were both champs, but I'm glad Thurman was given a chance after his come back win.
1929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco on: December 25, 2022, 08:34:49 AM
Based on the betting odds, Devin Haney has the advantage in this game. However, we know how good Vasiliy Lomachenco is, he is very unpredictable, so although he is not the favorite, I still believe that this is a 50/50 match.

@bisdak40, you can put a poll to answer your question.  Grin
1930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: December 25, 2022, 08:13:21 AM
Seemed like the line has not change anymore, the spread is still +2.5 for Ginebra which are the underdog in this game, so we cannot expect a movement anymore. Let's get this on, the game will start in less than an hour, you should not miss the game 1 of the PBA Finals.

Good luck bettors.
1931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: December 24, 2022, 12:10:51 PM
Betting odds are now available.

https://sportsbet.io/sports/basketball/philippines/pba-commissioner-cup/matches

What are you waiting for? Pound that Moneyline now because that attractive odds will be gone because I'm pretty sure bettors will take the ML.
Brownlee will surely play, so I guess Ginebra is underrated.

Thanks for sharing it early, the earlier we bet the better. On sportsbet, there's no spread with 1.90 odds, so I have to check on other betting sites like stake and the spread is +3.5 for Ginebra and the Moneyline is only 2.23, way lower compared to the odds from sportsbet.
1932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: December 24, 2022, 10:42:37 AM
Seems that there is another exhibition fight in the works -

https://fightnews.com/pacquiao-mundine-exhibition-in-the-works/142172

They are eyeing to do this in Papua New Guinea, maybe to add attraction on this country as well.
I favor exhibition fights for Manny, but going back to professional boxing, may give him health problems later on.
With exhibition fights, his boxing fans all over the world can see him one more time inside the ring.

Wow, that's a great news, but I am a bit curious as to why it's held in that country. I guess there are better countries that could attract more viewers.. but anyway, I believe there's a good purpose for this decision, and besides, it's not yet official yet, so let's just see wait for the formal announcement.

Also with such fights, they have different rules and they won't let the boxers suffer heavy blows.
That's exhibition fights, they have their rules to follow, some says it's scripted, then I guess it's okay.
1933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 24, 2022, 09:52:37 AM
The Lakers were supposed to beat the Hornets at home, but a bad game in the third quarter did not allow them to correct the situation until the end of the game, this is the third defeat in a row, I expected them to win this game. And Philadelphia continues its win streak, after defeating the Clippers, it is seven games won in a row, this is, if I'm not mistaken, the longest streak since the beginning of the season.

But it was still a close game though, Lakers just don't execute well in the last quarter that's why they suffer another Loss. This is the old Lakers that continues to struggle once they missed Davis, so he is a big factor in the success of the team, not Lebron James or Westbrook.

About the 76ers, Embiid is a beast in that win, and their win streak proved that they have the right chemistry already, but of course, it's necessary that Embiid will remain healthy.
1934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jermell Charlo vs Tim Tszyu - Jan 28, 2023 on: December 23, 2022, 06:57:46 PM
Ok, and this is what Timmy has to say:

Quote
“There’s going to be a new king of the division on January 28. I can promise non-stop action. Keep those belts shiny because I’m coming to grab them,” said Tszyu to Charlo at their kickoff virtual press conference.

https://www.sportnewscentral.com/box/tim-tszyu-tells-jermell-charlo-keep-those-belts-shiny-because-im-coming-to-grab-them/

Lol, that's kinda funny but the same time savage, hehehe. The mind games are really starting to heat up, because the fight is just 4 weeks from now and probably even at holidays, this two are training full swing because this is a huge fight, specially for Tim who wanted to become a champion and follow his father's footstep.

I don't know if that's counted as boasting because it really seems to me that he was just spitting some facts Grin

I don't know about you guys but for me, it is the very reason why people are drawn at him because he can really keep his words and will do what he is saying, and this time, he is giving the current undisputed champ a countdown and I bet this will be a good fight to see this coming January.
1935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 23, 2022, 06:35:44 PM
The decline in Boston Celtics surprises me. Lost to Orlando in two games in a row. It was surprising to me that he was defeated in his own field. In last night's game, he lost to the Indiana Pacers at home this time and dropped to second place in the eastern conference. The out-of-form Orlando defeats in particular are staggering. I hope it gets better soon because my championship favorite is Boston. Los Angeles Lakers lost 134-120 to Sacramento in the same away game.

1-4 in their last 5 games. So yeah, definitely something is wrong with the system that they have built, and most of their loses in that span comes from a bad team and in their home court, so that is bad already.

Just like against the Pacers, they were down 20 points in the first quarter alone. And they try to do catch up, but Pacers remains tough in the game even if their lead is going down specially in the 4th. Don't know what kind of adjustments they have to make right now, but they need a quick fix and stop the bleeding.

What surprises me the most was their defeat against the Orlando Magic in a back-to-back game, I wasn't expecting that to happen especially after the fact that the Magic do only have .400 below pct. and is tanking too. Well, I'd say that let's just give the Celtics some time and room to adjust if they are indeed having some difficulties inside, needless to say, they will be back much more stronger.
1936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde on: December 23, 2022, 06:15:15 PM
And the gap has widen now to some sports bookies, Yarde at 6:1 underdog, previously he was 5:1 and probably there are some whales putting huge money on Beterviev for that swing on the odds.

Nevertheless, they might not be wrong though, even our community thinks that Beterviev is going to win base on our votes.

So no surprises for the odds, but at 1.09, you have to put good enough money to felt your winnings here, hehehe.

It's just like the fight of Inoue and Butler at the bantamweight where the underdog, Paul Butler has the same ratio over the heavy favorite. Only the people who have massive cash on their pockets can afford to bet in times like these because just like what you've said, you need to put a huge bet to feel the profits in return. But for the likes of us, we can only afford to watch and enjoy their upcoming fight rather than betting on it.
1937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: December 22, 2022, 06:05:03 PM
To those of you who criticize the fight cancellation vs. Gesta.

Ryan Garcia has made the correct decision, I reckon. If he was to continue the fight against Gesta and also has to have some of his attention on the superfight against Tank Davis on May, this will certainly be more added pressure that he does not need. Would fans still want King Ry vs. Tank if Ryan Garcia does not give a good performance against Gesta? What if he lost vs. Gesta? There is also risk of injury.

These are risks that Ryan should avoid. Similar argument to Tank also, he should cancel his fight against Hector Luis Garcia. He might injure his left hand again.

Pressure is not something that these boxers are unaware of, the moment they decided to be a professional boxer, they already know the situation they are in and that pressures will be always with them because people will always set a high bar and that is the risks of it. Also, if Ryan Garcia cannot even defeat Mercito Gesta then it would be a mismatch because it will be almost guaranteed that Ryan Garcia will lost the fight if he will go with Tank Davis afterwards.

What he did might benefit his situation because his focus will be now undivided towards Davis only but how about his readiness? He might be in for a surprise especially the fact that Ryan Garcia haven't had any similar experience against stronger boxer.
1938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: December 22, 2022, 04:05:10 PM
Manny does not feel 100% in that fight against Ugas because he can't move his foot, but of course, that's an excuse for those who does not believe in him. I believe Pacman's decision to retire is just right, though he still can fight but he is already old to fight against the young champions, he had already proven with Thurman but he wasn't dominating the fight unlike before.

He is not focusing on boxing nowadays. He is more in to politics and activism. At this point, we should respect his decision. He might have felt that it is not possible for him to do two things at once (boxing and politics). Manny Pacquiao for the presidential a few months back, but he was not very successful (election was eventually won by Bongbong Marcos with Sara Duterte as the VP candidate, while Pacquiao managed to get less than 7% of the vote). The next elections are scheduled for 2028, and I have a feeling that Pacquiao's chances maybe higher then.

Right now, Manny Pacquiao is diverting his focus once again in boxing because he doesn't have any position anymore in the government. Maybe soon he will run again but in a much lower office because if he will run again at the presidential race, I reckon that his chances might increase compared to what happened in the recent race but the outcome would be the same.
Anyway, back to Spence-Thurman fight. Is there some updates regarding this topic? I hope it will still materialize after what happened to Spence recently.

Sadly, there's still no news regarding their fight next year and seriously, I don't even know if it's already inked or what because Spence's camp as well as Al Haymon are so silent about it and seems not interested to disclose some information. If we look some updates on the internet, the same articles will show up and if there is something new, it's also not relevant. Up to this date, there's no news and even the severity of Spence's legs aren't disclosed.
1939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Artur Beterbiev vs Anthony Yarde on: December 22, 2022, 03:43:41 PM
^^ I speculate that they could have been a rivalry between the two, Usyk is just one weight class above Beterviev and possible that they could be talks for them to fight. But we all know that Usyk when as high as HW win the belts against AJ and the rest is history.

And I think Usyk though can still drop to CW and then Beterview can go as high as that weight so maybe a superfight is also possible in the future between the two.

That is a good and epic fight worth to be watching if both camps can materialize it, although just like what @bisdak40 said, there will be some issues that will make it hard to happen. Otherwise, they can always both meet at the middle, at the Cruiserweight division to make the fight happen and to end the speculations of their rivalry.

Yes, maybe in the catchweight? that could be good as Usyk is very small for a Heavyweight, he is just very talented and has the movement to stay away fro Anthony Joshua's punch and he is very technical as well to be able to win the 2 fights that he had against AJ. But if he faces Tyson Fury, it will be very difficult match for Usyk.

So who knows, after that fight with Tyson Fury, he can go back or meet Arthur Beterviev in the middle for a good money fight and it could be added some narrative of a Ukraine (Usyk) vs Russia (Beterviev), that will be huge.

That might be the case but let's see about that soon if both camps can truly materialize it and pave a way for their rivalry. Catchweight or not, as long as both stated names will meet inside the ring and will adjust themselves to fit in the cruiserweight division. That will surely be an attraction that will make the fight more marketable because of the fight's narrative.
1940  Economy / Speculation / Re: Elon Musk says the price of BTC will rise on: December 22, 2022, 03:22:10 PM
Anyone can say the same thing but few can really weigh the statement. As he has mentioned, Bitcoin will see a rise but don't expect an instant boost. On implementation, those who can wait will have to wait as it could still be months before we see any clear signs of recovery. But in the end, elon musk doesn't carry the fate of this industry, things can change so it's up to you to choose what to do.

Maybe in my mind, Elon was just trying to reduce his investment if he had done so before. Because you didn't even mention the link to the tweet and a lot of people would find what you said above to be less credible.

I think you should also realize this. People don't even know about the exact time of the upcoming bullish trend. There's no ETA for when winter will end either.

It's very obvious Bitcoin will rise in price at some point in the future. Elon Musk is just saying it to manipulate the market to his own benefit. He probably bought BTC at a cheap price and wants to sell it higher for profit. It really doesn't matter what he says anyways, especially when crypto is all about decentralization.

I'm waiting for the day when Bitcoin becomes independent of the stock market, the FED's monetary policies, and even the opinion of one person. Once that time comes, Bitcoin will become a true store of value. I believe we're still early since the world hasn't fully adopted Bitcoin yet. Who knows if we get to become the next BTC millionaires? Just my opinion Smiley

There's no need for us to be hasty about the bitcoins future because whether we like or not, bitcoin will recover and flourish sometime in the future. Elon Musk can say anything he want to say but in-terms of bitcoin, he cannot manipulate it according to his needs and saying some speculations about the future because it's not like something that he can manipulate easily. I might believe him if we're talking about memecoins, but we aren't. Yes?
