The illusion of 'having money'

plus comsumption taxes plus capital gains etc.
Plus overly strict regulations. Plus political nonsense that stifles human progress.
1962  Other / Off-topic / Re: Flat Earth on: February 11, 2018, 10:30:27 AM
That dude used math not a drawing showing the rays of the sun to prove the earth is not flat. Maybe you idiots should use science too if you wanted to ever prove something but that wouldn't be possible because math would not confirm your idiotic views, just like you don't want to admit that boats and planes go around the globe and end up in the same place. You need to keep your delusion by ignoring facts. Still a liar I see.

If he only believes drawings, here is one from long before he was born.

This picture is taken from the 16th century astronomy textbook, On the Sphere of the World.

That's just a conspiracy propagated by the biggest conspirator of all times, Pythogoras himself.

Breaking 24777$ prediction game      FINAL LIST

[...]

UPDATE     AND GOOD LUCK !!!

BITCOIN??   Just ———-> hodl that shit  keep innovating/ adapting/ learning/buying/ not panicing/decentralize and So on .........

And get quick @24777 Just for new future list games getting bored on This one Wink

And Some say same old shit please like NEXT 24 h are critical Wink or .......

I think the game will become very exciting again as much as we are closer to the target price. It's funny that even if the prize is worth a VERY considerable amount (more so when the price is reached) many people would prefer someone else to win if that means we reach the price sooner than our expected date.

To put things in perspective, when the prize is claimed, it will have a worth in FIAT of more than $6000USD!... And everyone will be enjoying the party, probably still celebrating having broken $20K just a few days/weeks before.

Really anxious for that day to come Smiley

It really is a win-win game for HODLers.

Thanks, @micgoossens

If I win, I'm changing my birthday.  Wink

Only lose - lose for me and i’m a hodler as well :-/
But i do not take iT from my actually hodling stack ..... When a dip i buy the promised amount more and keep iT apart So iT doesn’t heart me at all Wink

Win-win-win for you @mcgoossens b/c  now all your coins are worth $24777
you made new friends  & entertained the masses
You actually might change someone's life....seriously.
Win-win karma points.

If you put iT This way then i hope iT Goes to someone Where its been appriciated as a life-changer Wink acctualy Just hope iT Goes to a coiner and please not to a change iT for quick money type of person Wink
That would be nice. Let's hope that the universe tends to allocate resources where they are most needed in the grand picture of things.

Shouldn't an Economist at the NYU at least be smart enough to factor out the monetary supply? Would sure be nice to see someone in such a position making educated assessments rather than spreading propaganda or bullshit statements that don't hold under scrutiny.

1965  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING DeepOnion is a SCAM, proof inside! on: February 11, 2018, 09:53:16 AM
Coinmarketcap updated the circulating supply of DeepOnion. It is now 9.75 million Onions out of a total of 19.5 million.

What this means is about 5 million of the premined coins in hands of the developers have already been cashed in. Less than 10 millions left. And these will be dumped in the next 2 months.

Well done, Lemmings, you made a handful of scammers very rich! Meanwhile the DO price went down faster than most other coins. Exactly as I had predicted it earlier, and this is not the end yet. Airdrops end soon, get out before that happens!

They don't care.. they simply ask can i get profit from this scheme "coin" ?
That in a nut shell is "crypto" in it's entirety.

This topic is a prime example.. the coin is BLATANTLY rigged badly yet little noob shithead profiteer douche bags line up to say word for word that it can't be a scam because they made money off it.
They will learn a painful lesson once the market rationalizes in the future. Might take a while, but I expect a lot of people to lose everything in the future due to a complete lack of foresight and rational analysis. Can't do more than giving warnings, some people heed them, most do not. I keep posting for those that do and simply got mislead by disingenous shitheads.

What a shame. I love me some good trolls.

He's running out of websites to back up his BS.  There are only so many people in the world that are willing to ruin their reputation by claiming the world is flat - unless you are anonymous of course...  Smiley
A part of me wants to see a serious Mathematician go out and create a model that would show earth "to be flat". I'd be surprised if it wouldn't be possible, since you can bijectively map surfaces into spheres, in which the poles equate the "edges". But you're right, nobody would really want to stake their reputation on an academic exercise.

People (including some scientists) can't even seem to process the fact that "the center of the solar system" is just an arbitrary choice that can dramatically simplify calculations in Physics and not some universal fact (as far as we know today), so I can't see anyone accepting a mathematically equivalent formulation of our planet that has such a long list of conspiratory nutjobs behind it.

I'd be quite interested to see if such a formulation would somehow reveal new insights though, assuming that it was possible to find such in the first place.
1967  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Ledger Nano S security issues on: February 11, 2018, 08:48:34 AM
Nice gesture..i bought the ledger nano and blue..both trezor in black and white..left them all wrapped never to be used. Then bought nano and trezor again to be used. Now i am awaiting 6 new batch one Trezor T models
Maybe I should pickup some backups in case I need to restore. How is the blue?

I never used...still wrapped up. I only have it as a collectable
Ah, I misread that since you used the nano and trezor.

Maybe I should pickup some backups in case I need to restore. How is the blue?

I've talked to a techy about Blue and they said they were extremely unimpressed. It looks cool as hell and I almost bought it for more than I should have at one point but thankfully I decided to hold off.  I didn't buy the ledger Nano direct from the manufacturer (like my boy Krogo here taught me to only do) so I won't keep anything on it but I did open it up to play with just for fun and to test out.  I think why I dislike the Nano is why my buddy didn't like the blue and it's just the software and hardware combined.  Ledger needs one platform and not these stupid apps.  The nano hardware, two buttons, doesn't hold a charge..it's just sloppy manufacturing.  I keep 90% on paperwallets and 10% between hardware wallets and hot wallets personally.
That really puts me on the fence. On one hand I want to support the industry even if I'm not going to use the hardware wallet. But on the other hand I don't want to support unimaginative products. What a dilemma.

I'm pretty sure you're just trolling for the lulz, but at least put some effort in please. It's been over 500 pages already and there still isn't anything of remote substance to play with.

He is a troll - just lying, and getting lazy at it recently.  :/
What a shame. I love me some good trolls.
1969  Other / Off-topic / Re: Flat Earth on: February 11, 2018, 08:39:18 AM
the Earth is not flat. Flat Earth doctrine is simply the ancients thought that now appears back to brainwash. It's been a lot of evidence suggesting that the Earth is round.

Pfft.  The Greeks knew the Earth was a globe, and even managed to calculate its circumference with less than a thousand miles of error.

The following image depicts the Greek dude Eratóstenes.

This is Eratóstenes theory, notice how the Suns rays are in parallel.

This depicts how light from the Sun actually strikes the Earth.

This depicts how the Suns rays look on globe Earth.

This is how the Sun's rays look on a flat Earth.

The Greeks knew Eratóstenes was full of shit and nobody believed his nonsense, that's what the fucking Greeks knew.
Earth is flat. Locally. Which means that whatever you deduce for flat surfaces is true on localized patches of earth.

Also, you can't use images of a tiny earth to demonstrate your points like that, especially if the proportions are all fucked to begin with.

I'm pretty sure you're just trolling for the lulz, but at least put some effort in please. It's been over 500 pages already and there still isn't anything of remote substance to play with.

What kind of idiot would sell after a 65% drop?
"Only two things are infinite. The universe, and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the former one."
1971  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 11, 2018, 08:08:39 AM
The whole crypto world is kind of laughable right now.
The most ridiculous point is ALL of them are going up and down roughly the same %.
This is idiotic from a rational point of view.
One day up 20%, next day, down 20%.
Explanation: more FUD on Monday?
BTC leads the way(do I get merits for this?)
More FUD till price reaches 2k (do I lose merits for this?)
Might want to check out the logarithmic chart, which pretty much says that the bottom has already been in at around 6 to 8k when compared to the last big crash.

Invisible recaptcha.

Perfect.

I hate clicking on cars / storefronts / traffic signs.

The first thing I thought was: "Damn, Google is already prepping up for their new April Fool's joke". After checking, I guess that's not the case.

The Crypto Times - 2/11/18:

"Vitalik on brink of second bailout for incompetent Ethereum devs with political clout."

ref https://www.coindesk.com/ethereum-devs-call-public-debate-fund-recovery/

Just started playing around with RootStock. I'm liking what I see so far.

Tell us more about what you see and what you like please.
I'm very much interested in hearing that as well.

On a similar note, how much longer do you think Ethereum will be able to call itself decentralized with all those bailouts?
1974  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 11, 2018, 06:55:34 AM

"ECB board member Yves Mersch said on Thursday that “cryptocurrencies” are “not money, nor will they be for the foreseeable future.”"

So we either have a pathological liar or a donkey who doesn't understand what money is in the board of the ECB.
Or just lacks vision.

If that was the issue he would be making direct references to failing points instead of calling bubbles, wash trading and ponzi schemes on Bitcoin itself, which I do not believe he has done.
1975  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your opinion on recreational drug use on: February 11, 2018, 06:54:18 AM
As long as it's not breaking any laws and it's on a legal ground I may agree with it.
Take for instance the case in Medical Marijuana, I agree with it as long as it's regulated
and the patients benefit from it. But the illegal use of drugs is a negative aspect I am
unsupportive with, it's just dangerous in the long run. But it's really up to people or
persons to decide, it's really their choice.
What is dangerous is the unjustifiable criminalization of recreational drug use. If drugs weren't illegal in the first place there would be much less appeal to "rebeling teens", there would be no drugs that are spiked with toxic and sometimes even deadly fillers, and there would be no gang crime or drug violence. The state is by far the biggest criminal due to its outlawing of recreational drug use, and anybody who supports that crime is a criminal as well and at least indirectly responsible for drug crime and deaths.

I wouldn't mind if it worked properly. But sometimes it just decides to fail for absolutely no reason, and I just can't figure out why. I tried all kinds of nonsense to make sure the street signs one would work every time, but it just seems random to me at this point.

It will pop back down to 40k, after it pops at around 150k. No source. Just gut feel. No guts no glory!
I thought corn popped only once!

For me, bitcoin is the shitcoin. First of its kind, but useless.

You sad, myopic bastard.

I've been playing with my lightning node over the past few days, and yeah, it's still rough and very much a work in progress, but goddamn is it ever impressive tech.

I have seen a glimpse of the future of Bitcorn, and it is very bright.
But when will it pop?
