I've toned down our initial estimate of 16 GB as I don't plan to launch with 150 players. However if 4 GB really isn't powerful enough I'll run it on a 8 GB with 50 players. That should be more than enough.
I'm telling your right now your going to get ddosed to hell so prepare for this. Also a bit off topic i know bitvegas had a copyright so you might want to not name it the same thing because you could get in legal trouble. Check if the copyright expired/
We're called BTCVegas, not BitVegas, however I will remove references to BitVegas in the OP to prevent legal trouble.

We will see what we can do about DDoSes.

Like I said in an earlier post, I can develop you some custom DDOS-prevention software. Let me know if you're interested and I can outline how it might potentially work. I think it would be really easy to integrate with your website and effective at preventing attacks.

Thanks for the offer but we'll see how it plays out. Right now we're still in the planning phase.

Are you guys able to ship to UK? I'm a massive fan of caramels ! Will be looking to purchase around 1-2kg Cheesy

I'm in the UK and I've had the pleasure of eating a 1/4 lb box of raspberry caramels (and a sample of some awesome orange blossom limited edition ones that they included!), so yes, they can Tongue Shipping is quite expensive though.

I am man.  The plan is in my head.  It is manifesting into reality with each waking moment.  It is also on my computer.  The idea has sprung and once unleashed, she will never fade away.  Run free, music festival.

This will be the best music festival in the universe.

Sorry dank, you and your music festival ain't got shit on Metallica. Or the Beatles. Or my father's band. Or...Megadeth.

And who's to say I will be the only one playing?

I forgot, this guy will be here too at your music festival:

Wow, that's pretty fucked. Sorry to say this but I'm pretty sure coinbet has completely conned you out of your money here, and there's going to be a big red flag over them unless they fix this ASAP.

More updates of our progress, work is moving ahead quite fast:

The server we are using currently is fine for hosting the 5 people working on the project, but if you are interested in BTCVegas right now the best way to support it is indeed to buy a VIP or VIP+ rank so that we can pave the way for hosting Smiley After we finish the building of BTCVegas it is likely we will spend a while coding and planning the launch, but buying ranks will indeed speed this up, so do consider donating to the launch of BTCVegas!
1988  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [InDev] [ANN] The revival of BitVegas - BTCVegas on: April 18, 2014, 06:23:25 PM
Here's some proof we are getting to work on BTCVegas and that we aren't scamming, for any of you who are skeptical about buying a rank!

We are now closed to extra helpers, sorry to those who were interested. However, anyone who pre-purchases a VIP or VIP+ rank will be whitelisted onto the build server so you can see how work is progressing Smiley For everyone else, we hope the final product will satisfy you!
1989  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [InDev] [ANN] The revival of BitVegas - BTCVegas on: April 18, 2014, 02:17:13 PM
Breaking News: Building of BTCVegas's map has begun. We are temporarily using a 2GB private VPS for those working on BTCVegas to build it. We still need donations to go up to a larger 4-8 GB VPS and start developing plugins and testing them there, however.

You seem to defend Beegcoin an awful lot for someone who isn't involved with it, to be honest...

Nah, it's E+ now because he hasn't paid back. It was probably much higher before...I love how he uses Mastercointalk as a reference with "I'm a mod" when he has 2 posts - what crack are these guys smoking?

I won't be enrolling next month, so I'm wondering if I'm allowed to remove my signature now? Is it safe to? Or do I need to wait till you confirm my payment?
1998  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [InDev] [ANN] The revival of BitVegas - BTCVegas (BitVegas v2) on: April 17, 2014, 11:10:16 PM
Note: Calling BTCVegas a casino is correct but we do not personally offer gambling games, we simply give the tools and a place for people to gamble against each other. There will be no gambling against the house.

Good news, I have decided to lower the rake on our PvP games to 1% Smiley However, this means we will now be relying a lot on our pre-sale of ranks (minor) and our sale of ranks (major) before and after BTCVegas launches. These ranks officially are donation ranks for the server. Before we launch all ranks will have a 20% discount, this discount is here to encourage people to donate now so we can raise funds for the initial server purchase. It is likely that our server will launch with 4 GB of RAM, and increase to 8 GB of RAM when our player count requires it.

We will offer these donation ranks in addition to all the normal server ranks:

VIP - Access to the VIP suite. The PvP games there e.g coin flip will have a 10x higher minimum bet and a 10x higher maximum bet, for those high rollers out there Tongue The VIP suite will also feature editable rooms which can be stylized for free. VIPs also are colored lime green on the server (Minecraft color code &a). VIP withdrawals will always be prioritized over regular member withdrawals. VIP will cost 0.25 BTC, however buying before BTCVegas is officially launched saves 20% so the cost pre-launch is only 0.2 BTC.

VIP+ - Access to all VIP features & access to VIP+ suite. VIP+ suite has double the minimum/maximum bet of the VIP suite. The VIP+ suite will also feature much larger editable rooms (in fact room is more of a understatement, we're basically talking penthouses) than the VIP suite. VIP+s will be colored gold on the server (Minecraft color code &6). VIP+ withdrawals will be prioritized over ALL withdrawals and upon PMing me I will actually lift the delay on the withdrawal and send you it. VIP+ will cost 1 BTC, but as mentioned before the pre-launch deal saves 20% so the cost pre-launch is only 0.8 BTC.

For those of you who think this is unreasonable, I do not doubt that there will be people prepared to donate these amounts for both a little bit of styling and to get back the fun which BitVegas was. In fact, to start up the 4 GB VPS we want to run BitVegas on, all we need is one person to donate for VIP.

How to pre-purchase these ranks: Please message me in advance that you will be sending me a BTC payment and which address it will be coming from. If you fail to do this I will have to request that you give me a signed message confirming you own the address. I will also need your Minecraft username. Purchasing these ranks will give you exclusive access to see how progress on the server is coming along, also!

The address for pre-purchase payments is 12pUN9DMmanTwriuBZAdkrNkoUK8BHsrAZ - as soon as we get a lightweight BTC client running on a VPS we will move funds there to create a hot wallet, part of the funds will be moved to a cold wallet as backup hosting & withdrawal funds. You can never be too cautious. Also, feel free to send donations if you can't afford to purchase VIP or VIP+, as we still appreciate it!

Thanks.

Yep guys, you got scammed...anyone who hasn't already got the small refund he was giving out has lost out even more. Psychology is a dick.

All help is appreciated, right now we'll need the following:

- Builders
- People who can staff the server
- People who can try and help develop some plugins, no matter how good or bad your experience with Java is everyone who actually helps with programming will be given an honorary staff rank Smiley

We'll also need some people who are interested in purchasing ranks so that we can get a very good spec server. Right now I'm thinking in the regions of 0.25 BTC for a VIP (Green) rank with a small lounge and higher stake PvP games, and 1 BTC for a VIP+ (Gold) rank with a lot more benefits on the server.

Coinnewbit, it's fine Tongue Right now I have 4 helpers for building, 1 helper who may be able to do a little bit of Java dev.

The max you'll need to spend on a server is $100 a month. I know java, but if you need somebody to secure and set up the VPS/dedicated server I can do that too.

Maybe, I'll contact you if I end up needing help.

Making a secure paper wallet right now for the holding of any backup BTCVegas funds, and another for user funds.
Changed my mind here and went for a brain wallet as someone can't rob me of that. Forgetting this brain wallet will not be an issue but no-one will be able to guess this. The address of the brain wallet is 1253scB7f3QMo4XzWAUsV8qmxUEKRUX2sG. Quote this so I can not change it.

Now that we have a safe method of storage for keeping the funds off of a computer, I have went ahead and created the hot wallet for keeping a small portion of funds. Funds that are being raised before the server starts up will also go there.

Again, rank info coming soon.
