1062  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: - Bets At Decent ODDs That Might Even WIN - on: May 28, 2015, 04:52:59 AM
I had a chuckle at the title and some of your posts. It's nice to see someone who runs one of these threads and doesn't try to claim that they're some elite gambling expert who is immune to being able to lose and will always make perfect predictions on where to place your money. Sucks you're down, though.
1063  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: [+20 Payments] Send BTC & get 130% back INSTANTLY. (Min:0.001B) Payment Proof on: May 28, 2015, 04:49:55 AM
Yeaaaaaaaaaaah fairly sure this guy is running something similar to those Doubling Money scams you used to see on RuneScape...oh man lol that's brilliant, haven't seen one of those in a long time. They just return the increased piles of cash earlier and the moment someone gives them something worth taking they'll run off. Use caution, please.
1064  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Possibly another multi-million dollar bitcoin theft on: May 28, 2015, 04:42:34 AM
People who use these dark market shit deserved to get ripped off.

STOP BREAKING THE LAW ASSHOLES.
I sympathize with your sentiments. However, not everyone in the world has justice under the law. In some places it is perfectly moral to break the law  because the laws are immoral, IMO.

But I suspect most darknet users are not in this category. They are trying to avoid taxes or the like. When their money goes missing they cry for help. "My partners in crime stole my money!! Help me government, I'm a victim!!!"

That's the problem I have unfortunately with most people who spout things like "Silk Road shouldn't be shut down, we're just exercising our freedoms". Well no, it was essentially mainly a place for selling drugs, I am quite aware other things were sold but its main purpose was to sell drugs. There are ways to implement an anonymous website like Silk Road without having drug sellers swamp all over it.

It's called moderation though, and a lot of people seem to hate that too.
1065  Economy / Gambling / Re: Recent dadice.com development on: May 27, 2015, 09:05:02 PM
I am watching this thread rather heavily in anticipation of me updating the Overview of Popular Bitcoin Gambling Websites thread and bringing it back up to standard soon. So essentially, you think they're just going to make a runner? The images you have in the OP are rather telling and indicative of an issue.
1066  Economy / Services / Re: [Crypto-MMM.com] Signature Campaign [Highest Pay Per post] [OPEN] on: May 27, 2015, 08:55:18 PM
Okay.

I can verify after logging into OP's account and checking through his PMs (with his permission of course) that a while ago he did have a PM exchange with the user CryptoMMMCom offering his services to manage/escrow the campaign. It looks legitimate and I don't see any real reason for him to have faked that, unless he had some mad anticipation skills. So - that checks out for me.

Obviously please use your due diligence. I refuse to make any rating on the OP's trustworthiness as an escrow agent, this post is simply from the stance of me trying to be neutral. He isn't - it appears at least - the owner of the site.

That's from me looking at the PMs. Please use your common sense, I take no responsibility for anything that happens beyond this but I will remove my negative rating from OP.
1067  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] Pesobang.com - Avatar & PM campaign on: May 27, 2015, 08:43:14 PM
Enrolling. Posts (including this one) @ 2971.

My address is 171717Lqgyi88sqSqRtToFYUYmJqeq5Bui, cheers!
1068  Economy / Services / Re: [Crypto-MMM.com] Signature Campaign [Highest Pay Per post] [OPEN] on: May 27, 2015, 08:38:09 PM
OP offered me their username and password to check that there are at least logs of the owner of this site asking them to escrow. I will check later (I'm a bit confused as to what the password is with what I was sent...) and report back. That doesn't mean I condone this, I'm simply doing that as a neutral third-party.

OrangeSeller: Nah. Happened with a sig campaign before and it wasn't pretty.
1069  Economy / Gambling / Re: Overview of Popular Bitcoin Gambling Websites [Up-to-date as of 15th Feb] on: May 27, 2015, 08:28:10 PM
If you do update the list, could you rename MoneyPot to bustabit (it underwent a domain change, but under same ownership and same accounts etc.)

I'll second LuckyB.it trustworthiness rating being improved to an A+. As they have no investors, and have every bet occur in public it is both exceedingly hard for them to cheat (without being seen) and all the incentives aligned for them to operate legitimately.

Also it appears that satoshidice hasn't been responding to support issues for at least a couple months (source), so you might want to update the chart to reflect them or just remove them until they're back in action

A'ight. I'll take those all into account when I update it (probably tomorrow as it's a bit late for me now). Thanks for all of your info, I appreciate it as it's a pain to have to check through all these websites to see any changes or complaints.
1070  Economy / Gambling / Re: New Poker Site on: May 27, 2015, 06:12:18 PM
For such a new account I really want to see some evidence to back up your claims. Else, it just seems like the owner of the poker site has decided to make a fresh account on Bitcointalk and start shilling for his own site to try and lure in some unsuspecting people to scam. I don't particularly like the look of this.

<Perhaps> it's legitimate but still, CYA and use caution.
1071  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is there any way for casinos to cheat the provably fair? on: May 27, 2015, 06:07:04 PM
Sometimes, depending on the casino. My favourite post about this is this absolute gem on /r/Bitcoin. It's a decently long read, but it's very insightful.

That's not to say that a casino can't be properly provably fair, it's such some implementations can make it not so provably fair. Sites that are on-Blockchain and provably fair can't fall to those kinds of exploits.
1072  Economy / Gambling / Re: Overview of Popular Bitcoin Gambling Websites [Up-to-date as of 15th Feb] on: May 27, 2015, 06:04:31 PM

Thanks for compiling the list. I would like to protest our trustworthiness rating, though. We're on-chain, which means that additionally to being provably fair, everything we do is 100% transparent and public as it's recorded in the blockchain for ever. Additionally, we never hold customer funds.

As a result, we never had a customer complaint or have been facing founded scam accusations. Just see the comments in this thread: after operating for over one year, we're one of the most trusted gambling sites out there!

Sorry, ain't checked this in a while. I will <work> on updating it but I can't guarantee the speed of that.

Please don't take A- as a bad Trustworthiness rating, it's still a top-tier rating and LuckyBit still comes out to an A overall which is the highest rating I've decided to give so far. I'll have a look and may decide to up that based on time that has passed - obviously I can't guarantee I'll increase it as this is designed to be a fair thread, not a thread where I change ratings at the request of website staff/owners.

I do like LuckyBit, though. I will consider updating.

1074  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitbond – Bitcoin P2P loans on: March 31, 2015, 09:47:59 PM
How much of a weight does the monthly salary of someone requesting a loan have on that person's rating?
1075  Economy / Lending / Re: [EDU] EXERCISE CAUTION WHEN LENDING TO USERS! on: March 29, 2015, 12:04:04 AM
@DiamondCardz: First of all, thank you for putting effort on creating this thread! Smiley Can you make a note about 'Steam' saying that "if the borrower moves the game or weapons to lenders or a trusted person's wallet, it can be used as collateral".

I'm not adding that simply due to credit card fraud.
1076  Economy / Currency exchange / WTS> $50 of BTC, taking payment via PayPal on: March 17, 2015, 08:27:58 PM
PM me with how much BTC you want for $50 PayPal. Don't you dare even bother PMing me if you aren't extremely trusted.
1077  Economy / Gambling / Re: $50 to $5000 in 489 winning matches - Journey on: March 02, 2015, 05:17:26 PM
:/ I did warn ya something like would this would probably start to happen. The odds are so stacked against you...
1078  Other / Meta / Re: Username Change on: March 01, 2015, 08:35:07 AM
you actually need to have vip status not donator.

It seems like I can still change my displayed name (which is currently different from my username).

How???

He's a donator if you look under his name on the left panel.
1079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cannot Succeed (heres why) on: February 28, 2015, 03:55:09 PM
I'm sure Billionaires and extremely large MNCs (Multi-National Corporations) make transactions in the millions of USD quite often, however you don't see them constantly getting scammed. There are precautions that would be taken by any sane person if they had such a large sum of money.

When they do though they'll have insurance or get refunded. That's one thing that likely wont happen with bitcoin. If you lose your coins they're gone.

Then use exchanges that are credible and you KNOW have all the required paperwork and go the extra mile. An exchange with very solid roots is unlikely to be able to pull off a large scam.
1080  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cannot Succeed (heres why) on: February 28, 2015, 03:45:20 PM
First of all I would like to start this off by stating that I am a believer in the possibility of the success of Bitcoin. This may seem like a contradiction with the title of the thread but it is not. This is because the possibility of success is very low due to the reasons which I am going to describe. At the moment bitcoin is 250$ and has been there for quite a while. Exchanges such as cryptsy, poloniex, btc-e, ect. exist to exchange btc to usd and btc to other alt coins. Circle and coinbase exchange btc to usd and are currently common way to receive USD from BTC. That is a brief summary of the current ecosystem.

Now let us imagine that bitcoin reaches "the moon" as is often wished for in the Bitcoin community. Let us imagine that one BTC is worth 1 million dollars. It is commonly accepted that these exchanges, cryptsy, poloniex, btc-e, circle, coinbase, ect. are for profit. They are not running their businesses out of altruism, but for profit. If one bitcoin is worth one million dollars, how is it remotely imaginable that these exchanges will not just run off with the coins? Even more if I have one btc at one million dollars, I will have to go through some sort of intermediary to receive my USD. This intermediary will run off with the coin because of its massive value.

The issue is a facet of human nature, greed. One bitcoin would not even have to reach 1 million usd for the above scenario to become a reality. How high does btc have to go? The 1k mark was enough for mt gox, 2k...would there still be trust? Would they all run off with the BTC? Ok how about 40k?

This is the problem of bitcoin. People steal. Especially when it is irreversible.

I'm sure Billionaires and extremely large MNCs (Multi-National Corporations) make transactions in the millions of USD quite often, however you don't see them constantly getting scammed. There are precautions that would be taken by any sane person if they had such a large sum of money.
