1981  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake phishing on: September 02, 2023, 01:28:06 PM

That is really bad. The situation clearly shows that the scammer had no option to benefit from his hack.
At this point he should have left the account but as you said it was pure revenge. It is pure evil.
It's like if the money can't be mine it should not be anyone's. Bad day for OP.  Sad

On the other side, I guess it will be fine for op since the hacker couldn't get hold of the money. He would have felt really bad if another person took his money in such way to enjoy his sweat. It is a lesson for us all that before clicking on a link sent to you, you need to do some background check because a little mistake can little to regret. And another lesson is the need for 2FA google authenticator security activation to our accounts so that when hackers get succeed then they won't be able to run away with the money in the wallet.
1982  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake phishing on: September 02, 2023, 12:06:26 PM

I hope I am really wrong about this but I think there is a way that hackers can bypass even the Google authenticator 2fa and still login into your account if you fall a victim to their phishing stuff, Now here it is...

All said, I can reiterate that it is the link op clicked that got him into this. He was gunning for the bonus while the hacker was targeting his account. If you click a phishing website link then you have invested in a troubled waters, unfortunately I think that was what happened from his story.

This is another lesson not to click just any link sent to you without verification of where it came from, I avoid them alot when they are sent through to my email. Sometimes they are not sent directly with the original site name but the link sent to you would bear the name and with such discrepancy, you don't need to click at all whether you activated 2FA or Google authenticator because these hackers are highly knowledgeable in tech.
1983  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake phishing on: September 02, 2023, 10:49:18 AM
BTC so been playing on stake for 3 years.
Last Sunday my balance went from 8 k to 10k I got phishing mail and I clicked thinking it was legit bonus as I was nearing level up.

The balance in your wallet is inconsequential to think of making such excuse for that happening to you now. Scammers will send attractive message for you to get you to compromise which you did. I think this is where the issue on your account started, you have compromised your account by clicking on a phishing mail sent to you and that directed your account towards the hackers domain. You are knowledgeable that it was a phishing site but because of the bonus you got tempted to open it instead of verifying from the casino and or report it.

Well I think what you need to do is to reach out to stake and ensure your account is safe going forward. Is a good thing you secured your account further with 2FA.
1984  Other / Off-topic / Re: money before Romance on: September 02, 2023, 09:45:40 AM

How do you see it, if we use the time of studying women and romance, and think of money and how to make money. ?

These two are contradiction for me. Why do you need to study woman? Of what purpose will that be? You have to understand that some of these women related issues are natural and depends on how it is presented to you as an individual. Or have you not seen a situation where a wealthy man goes after a lady but she keeps rejecting the overture but rather choose a "poor guy" perhaps she will be happier with the poor person and sees potential with him whereas some ladies will immediately fall for any wealthy man, that is why I believe it is different for different people.

Another point is the issue of making money. Sometimes it is destiny and not the amount of effort, strength or mussels you have. But money is good, it helps t sustain the human life in all ramifications.
1985  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency restrictions in some countries is a blessing in disguise. on: September 02, 2023, 09:11:42 AM
Thanks to P2P which has widely gained ground as a decentralized means of transactions and reliable exchanges like Binance and Remitano, bitcoin users are increasing everyday.

You still gotta ask yourself how big the growth would be if there was no ban. Because bans can deter a lot of potential users who are scared to break the law. And also you gotta consider the possibility of crackdown on p2p exchange. The government might order banks to monitor for activity that looks like exchanging crypto and to ask their customers to explain the source of their money.

From what Op said the P2P is an effect that grew more because of the ban or restrictions of bitcoin trading and I think the market would have had more positive growth if the restrictions were not there. In Nigeria like the op was making reference to, before the restrictions bitcoin was beginning to be discussed on the street and many youths were proud to identify themselves as bitcoin hodler (at least some fraction of it) or learning how to trade or somesort but now they are restricted and avoid to publicly speak loudly about it. So they rely on P2P platforms more which would have grown the Nigerian adoption faster than it is now.

2; Unemployment, where there is high rate of unemployed people, especially the youth, they will see bitcoin trading as a source of earning income.

I agree with you on this. I think unemployment is a huge factor driving more people and the youths in search of source to sustain.
1986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Socialtournaments-A way to stop gambling addiction on: September 02, 2023, 07:28:47 AM
On the countrary, I think the tournament is even made to lead more people into addiction and not to help gambling addicts. It is for those who are new in gambling to enjoy and play on a turn because an addict likes to play at anytime on his desire and not to be limited.

Gambling addiction is like a smoker or an addict who craves for his dose of drug at a particular point that he or she needs to take it and not wait for a dose. So, I don't see anyway socialtournament could help a gambling addict to stop the habit.
1987  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is politics really necessary? on: September 01, 2023, 08:21:58 PM
In fact, politics is essential for a well-functioning social system.

To this end to the effect that it a also a means of balancing resources in the system or regions. It helps different groups of people with different interest to allign with the interest of the nation for proper cohesiveness. Politics if well utilized is the bedrock of governance because you can show solidarity or support to a needy set of people. Many people have shut themselves in politics when they don't understand the importance of it.
1988  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Importance of Gambling to the society on: September 01, 2023, 05:25:35 PM

There are some people who have chosen gambling as a profession who have done this wrong thing.  I think gambling is bad for me. People who can't control their greed while gambling lose all their money and end up in trouble. I gamble for pleasure not to make money. I thought I would abstain from gambling for a few days.

Those who have taken gambling as a source of income are mostly those that suffer in gambling because of that life style of continuous playing and losing. They get money from other source and gamble with it and they have hope that they will win the house. Someone who doesn't have control of limiting himself from regular player to playing occasionally has given himself to addiction. Addiction in gambling is because of trying to win all the time which is greed and a greedy person will always find it difficult to win bet because he will keep making mistake of going for the wrong games because of winning potential and leaving out potential winning games because of odd.
1989  Economy / Economics / Re: Stable coin or having USD in bank on: September 01, 2023, 01:39:38 PM
Those countries having devalued currency, they prefer to have $ in their bank because the exchange rate still favours it against the local currency at the long run but this is a knowledge open and accessible to the rich as they travel they have access to foreign currency and as they transact in their businesses.

In some countries where the local currency is down, to have access to dollar is still a problem, to open a domiciliary account to hodl USD, EURO or POUNDS is not easy in those countries. However, hodling your cash in USD is preferred and more valuable on the long run because it worth increases against the local currency if the inflation is high.
1990  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "France" A colonial Thief on: September 01, 2023, 01:01:39 PM
Africans should really be taking advantage of their natural resources right now because they just cannot rely on other big countries forever. especially right now they see that making any partnership with other countries about harvesting their resources is no good and the development is so slow when it comes to their people. they should have been one of the best countries in the world like the Arabs when they used their natural resources for good.

Well, in many cases they simply do not have the access to technology which would otherwise help them to easily exploit their natural resources, so the have to invite other countries to exploit them for them or get massive debts to invest in their own technology, both of those situations can lead to unwanted results and further impoverishment of the African people.

Nothing stops African leaders to embark there people on massive technological training so that in near future those who got such training can come back and establish the technological hob in their different countries and train others. Apart from sending their people out to foreign land for such training, they could bargain with expatriates to train their people in their home soil. Such bargain should be in monetary value and not to give out their natural resources at a ludicrous numbers of years to the foreign companies. The issue is that of leadership

Instead focusing in mineral resources and massive mining, they should try first to develop their agricultural potential, so they can get revenue and food security from it from exportation. Once they become stable enough thanks to farming, we may try to acquire technology to min their resources with money they already would have on their hands, instead of relying on debt. I have no doubt some countries like China and Russia would be pleased to give credit to those countries which are going through military coups, though it only takes a glance on past experiences with Chinese debt traps to realize that a short term solution like debt would hurt further future generations in Africa.

Debts or borrowing shouldn't hurt the future generations in Africa if utilized very well. To borrow for investment and proper capital investment is good and well monitored devoid of embezzlement or corruption but utilized for the purpose at which it is borrowed. If such cases if they are utilized, the repayment might even be from the benefit and proceed from the investment. The government can borrow to build bridges which toll may be collected, borrow to invest in agriculture, investment in power and electricity etc , all those would be returns in the future but when they borrow they embezzle it within themselves and the coup will persist because the people are looking on the military to savage them into another phase perhaps it could be better.
1991  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rant: Casinos should hire people who knows about what they do on: September 01, 2023, 11:59:42 AM

Just today, I was asking the support of a casino why the sportsbook section on the casino website is redirecting me to another platform and he doesn't understand what I mean.

I don't know if the customer agent you spoke with didn't say anything regards to that, kept blank or totally confused. In this kind of issue, this is not about the game your played or what happened to your bet regarding to your account but this is purely technical and either from programming. So the customer service person should be able to know what to tell you if he or she is well trained. Sometimes you don't need super training to do a PR job, you need to be intelligent and wise to succeed in it. I have called some customer services of a mobile line on issues they are not aware of but instead of giving an annoying answer, they will apologize and tell you that the equipment to access the issue is still updating and that you need to call back while they update the equipment and download the issue. So by this, within the time before you call back they would quickly check on the issue themselves.
1992  Economy / Gambling / Re: Whats happening with Betnomi? on: September 01, 2023, 11:32:28 AM

If I may offer perspective from my own [personal] professional career, such cases where shareholders or the higher-ups are disagreeing about the direction of their company are not uncommon. And usually, it's solved through finding a middle way, taking majority votes if necessary, and on severe case, offering a buy out for the partners. One or two even publicly announced [it's a small business close to where I live] that they have internal issues and will come back with solution in an undetermined time, but assure that they will give their best, clear all of their duties and responsibilities, and then pull the brake while they internally solving their issue. None of the companies with these issues in the past from my experience took the houdini act.

To stage a come back is different from exit scam and you know the difference like you explained and narrated in your story at least the company told those customers that they are coming back better and stronger. This is what is expected from betnomi from customers and other people who may not have opened an account with them but were already believing in them only to be disappointed. So if company truly want to take a break to come back at a later date, they announce that to workers, customers and general public that is the difference.
1993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos Should Also Be Prepared For Health Emergencies on: September 01, 2023, 11:15:42 AM

Having a full medical team ready for health emergencies is a big bonus wherever they are. But it's on the government to make some rules about it, and then casinos and all other big resorts will have it. When they earn millions they should be able to spend some money on this as well.

This should be the requirements to meet before launching a casino especially offline and depending on the size because some are very large as a mega station or office while some are sub offices. So those that big should have the emergency care unit that could take care of such need before the person is taken to hospital for proper medication. Regulation and rules should be in the jurisdiction of the government, they are the one to ensure there is legal backing before casinos will comply but if there are non, then it will be business as usual and someone likely to survive if emergency care was given could die on the spot while trying to bet or viewing results of his bet because his heart pumped from the results he saw .
1994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Behaviours of gamblers you dislike. on: September 01, 2023, 09:45:18 AM
I dislike when a gambler exhaust his money playing without winning and he comes to you for rising believing that he would win the next best whilst he had not won on a 10 roll straight (rising is known in local parlance as borrow or asking for loan). It may look common not to be disliked but it looks absurd to borrow to bet. This usually happens in offline gambling and some bettors are use to it, the addicts who always feel they made a mistake in the previous bet/game and that was why they didn't win so they want to persistently keep trying until eternity without reading between the lines that it is not working for that day .
1995  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⚠️ Warning: Bons.com - Disturbing Practices, Unfair Fees & Manipulated Reviews on: September 01, 2023, 09:25:14 AM

7. My Future Plans: Given my experiences and observations, I'm contemplating launching a small website dedicated to unadulterated reviews. The focus will be on genuine feedback from users, including myself, without any commercial incentives or affiliate commissions. Authenticity and honesty will be at its core.

I see that is what it is, you want to raise your own website of course.

So how are you going to get such genuine feedback or reviews from users willingly or how are you going to convince readers of those reviews that what they are reading is genuine feedback.
The feedback mechanism is no more trusted and that is why when you see a review that attracts you but signing up, you get something not as expected.

Quote
4. Hidden Charges and High Fees: The fees here are nothing short of daylight robbery. Aside from taxing deposits and withdrawals heavily, there's a staggering 10% fee on withdrawals. They even coerce users into meeting a wagering requirement to avoid this 10% fee, irrespective of whether you used any bonus.

5. Suspicious Online Reviews: My alarm bells started ringing louder when I noticed the peculiar behavior of their online reviews. Negative feedback on Trustpilot seems to vanish into thin air. This manipulation isn't isolated to just Trustpilot – many review sites, especially in the casino and sportsbook domain, seem to be swayed easily by financial incentives.

These two above points are what I picked out from your complaints to be worried about. If a casino has hidden charges then it means they are not sincere to their customers. Otherwise, KYC is the same thing everywhere.
1996  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Coping with the country's economic situation on: August 31, 2023, 10:16:52 PM
Nor be lie you talk. Unnecessary spending na wetin we need to avoid, but as man wey you be, you nor go fit dodge all billing especially baby own and family billing. Na to cut down lifestyle oh, person nor dey live like say things still dey as before. Ordinary loaf of bread now na #1500, even down to pure water…everything don high.

Na the point line be that, to reduce cost by reducing unnecessary spending na the situation be that. For now anybody wey no reduce unnecessary and frivolous spending, that person no dey naija. Every product don go up no be small and yet government no dey make any proactive step to curtail the hardship, even labour self don fall my hand, them no get purpose, dem no dey try. Them no want show this government say them dey take people for granted.
1997  Economy / Economics / Re: Increase in stable coins adoption might just be the key to crpyto dominance. on: August 31, 2023, 08:17:54 PM
What value stablecoins settle? Go to any supermarket in the world and you'll see people paying with Visa or Mastecard every single minute. But where are the stablecoin payments?  I never encountered a business, even a small one, that accepts stablecoins.

My guess is that most of the activity on stablecoin network is speculative trading, especially by bots. If someone shut down stablecoins tomorrow, the world wouldn't notice. If someone shut down Visa tomorrow, that would be Armageddon.

I like the analysis of stablecoin and Visa to see that even Visa is valid and valued for P2P transaction more than stablecoin that is pegged with another fiat and bitcoin the most of all decentralized coin with freedom, privacy and dominance on all other coin .

So why not go direct and use your card and at least avoid the primary stress of accessing the internet.

1998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has your Responsible Gambling had any of these Effects on You? on: August 31, 2023, 07:51:02 PM

Most of the losses I have recorded in recent time comes as a result of not withholding myself from continuing gambling when I have already reached my limit in the week.

I'm sure you understand now what self control can do  Grin

If you can't run away at those times you have made reasonable winnings then you might be tempted to continue. I have witnessed such when a gambler off line made money from playing visual soccer and he gave out some money to other bettors around there who were playing with him until he started winning. So after he shared some money to those gamblers too he kept staying at the game house looking at same screen and watching the games others were playing and he got interested again to play a game he felt was a guarantee and behold he lost that game and that was how he started playing again chasing the lost money, that was how he lost all the money left with him.
1999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has your Responsible Gambling had any of these Effects on You? on: August 31, 2023, 05:17:04 PM
Has your responsible gambling habit had any positive effects on your relationships .

I think this is the question. Of course when you do things in moderation and responsibly, you wouldn't have problems with yourself or other people because you have balanced it out. You can only be a responsible gambler if you are not an addict, which means you will have control of yourself, your activities and relationship. You will also have a budget for gambling and you will keep to it. For example I get satisfied with my budget even if I exhausted it without winning and I move on very well with myself and people around also until the next time I decide to. It is fun to gamble responsibly because you wouldn't have to start chasing your loses which is a major reason for addiction.
2000  Economy / Economics / Re: I wonder if food prices in your country have also increased? on: August 31, 2023, 04:26:23 PM
The weather factor is of course the trigger for several countries experiencing drought, causing agricultural land to lack water sources.  In fact, the current summer is quite extreme in some tropical countries, especially since farmers are also having difficulty producing maximum harvests.  As a result, there were many crop failures which became the main trigger for the increase in most food ingredients

If all things were suppose to be the way we expect it, the government is suppose to play an important role in times of drought by providing adequate irrigation service. Large farms are suppose to be supported even when the small and rural farms will be too strenuous for government to deal with. Government know the big farms so I believe if they are sincere to feed the people time in and out of season then they should focus towards providing support for big farms at least that will go along way to help reduce hunger during drought season until the rain come back.
