21  Other / Meta / Re: How to Add / Edit Bitcointalk Signature? on: July 17, 2018, 08:55:44 PM
This is helpful to newbies on how to add/edit already made signatures. About the personal text, it's also the same as adding/editing signatures.
First, Click on the Profile Tab.
Second, same as adding signature on the left side where you can see Forun Profile Information.
Third, You can put whatever text you want in the personal box located above the Birthdate Box.
Fourth, Press the change profile and you're done.

Take note: "Personal Text" area does not allow the use of BBCode, as the "Signature" area does. The actual
number of digits in the "Personal Text" area is also much, much smaller, limiting what you can add to it. Goodluck!!!

Please can anyone help me on how to post pictures from external sources when posting.

Use this code:

Code:
[img]your image link here[/img]

There is a "picture button" for the code as well, when you are replying. It is directly under the I in the menu.

Note: The image will not appear when newbies post. It will only post the link. However, as you rank up, this will change.
27  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Tips] Posting technique on: July 14, 2018, 10:02:35 PM
You're doing good with your tutorials as of late. I have a suggestion regarding images. Make a note to readers, that noobies
can post them, but they will only "show up" as a link to the image. This will change as they rank up.

Also, an easy way to adjust image size is to add width=××× after the first "img" in the tag in the code,
like this:

Width=300
Code:
[img width=300]https://i.imgur.com/BxHkAe0.gif[/img]

Width=100
Code:
[img width=100]https://i.imgur.com/BxHkAe0.gif[/img]
28  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: (Review/Guide) WhatsMiner M3 11.5 Th/s, 2000W Bitcoin (SHA-256) ASIC miner on: July 14, 2018, 10:43:38 AM
Hi there,
I have a problem with one of my miners(Whatsminer M3) is showing 0 for fan speed in, and therefor fan speed out is 6300 which is upper than normal and for that hash rate is lower than usual.

but the fan is working(maybe is working because of out fan air flow!, I' don't know, i cant count the speed Cheesy).

I replace the fan with another working fan but nothing changed(fans speed in = 0);

I load the firmware again with sd card  but nothing changed(fans speed in = 0);

How can i fix this issue?
Should i turn off my miner in this status until the fan works again?

please help me,
Regards

First off,  why is everyone suddenly messing with the firmware on these??? They are not Halong Dragonmint firmware bingo machines.
Usually, when a fan speed error occurs, it's generally not a firmware issue. Most of the time it's a controller/fan issue. However, with as
many problems people have with Pangolinminer psu's, try swapping it for another, to see if there's a difference. It could be the
controller isn't getting full power. As always, open a support ticket with Pangolinminer. Goodluck!!!

30  Economy / Reputation / Re: I'm ignoring posters who start threads with all caps titles. on: July 12, 2018, 08:22:32 PM
Personally, I find ALL CAPS just as annoying as ▪□■|stuff like this|■□▪. I understand the idea of having "flair" to steal
the attention of the readers, but it's beyond redundancy at this point. The other "pet peev" I have, is the reiterating of posts.
Not just by the copy/paste shite posters, but by people who are fishing for merit, knowing "that" topic is buried past page 5.
I've seen quite a few "newer" members creating topics, that have been kicked to death, reformatting information, and reaping
the rewards of a post that "meets the criteria" for receiving merit. Sure, the post is informative, reads nicely, and certainly took
the author time to create it, but it's already been done. Over and over, for the sake of receiving AND giving merit.

hi anyone can help....
my miner have a problem,

on the SYSTEM
CGMiner Version : Unknow(waiting cgminer to start)

i have restart and reboot still same, what should i do ?
should i upgrade firmware ? and how to upgrade firmware on M3 ?

I would not touch the firmware. The M3 firmware is pretty solid. Did you try the reset button? When you do, unplug your
network cable, press reset, then reconnect the cable. Check all of your connections on your controller too. I have 1 M3
that is fussy about the network cable for some reason, and that's what I had to do, to get cgminer to start up.

If that doesn't work, I'd suggest what NotFuzzyWarm suggested. However, leave the firmware stock.

and the thing is that people need quick revenue. when joining this pool, they might have to wait many days to get some BTCs. while when connecting to other pools, they can immediately see blocks.

This is exactly what I'm talking about, when I said "following along" because, they just don't do the research. The people who
are jumping right into Bitcoin Mining, and expecting to get paid everyday, are the type of people who want the Lambo so bad,
not realizing how much it's going to cost to buy insurance and gas for a V12. They see the glamor and hype first, from the results
of their Google search.

The other aspect, of some people's argument, is just instant gratification. The daily payout. I've always asked those people this:
Do you get paid everyday when they go to work??? (mowing lawns doesn't count, kids) How many investments, has any one made
that continuously pays them back everyday??? Do those investments include difficulty increases, because Bitcoin does, and many
people don't know that when they start mining Bitcoin. They find out weeks after joining, and the payouts start getting smaller.
That's when true research shows them, they are better off with a Pool like Kano's.

Also, I love morning Blocks!!!

36  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [205+PH] KanoPool kano.is 0.9% fee 7 BTC giveaway 🐈 US,UK,JP,NYA,DE,SG on: July 11, 2018, 08:37:05 PM

I think the main reason why big pools are getting bigger is that they are big.

And they once got big because they were the first ones - simple.

People (I know a few) are looking what pool to join, and people like frequent and "safe" payouts - so if anyone is mining at slush, they do too (because they feel safe).

Yep!!! That's what my tin-foil hat rant is all about. When people first start out, they assume that if everyone else is there,
it must be good. More than likely, half of that pool, is people just "following along" because, they just don't do the research.
Familiarity, is what gets the initial thought of joining the "big" Corporate pools, and that false sense of security is the push to
join. What keeps them there, is the instant gratification of daily payouts. Smaller, daily payouts.

I find it awfully ironic, that many Bitcoin Miners, personally choose to stay away from companies like Apple and Microsoft,
because they dislike the Corporate shenanigans those companies are known for, so they often choose open source like Linux.
Then they go and devote their shares into a Corporate Pool, and Trust they are being taken care of. Tongue

Personally, I did months of reading, analyzing, and comparisons. Just not equipment, but more importantly, what pool to join.
Here I Am, Rockin Like a Hurricane!!! Go Kano Pool, or Go Home!!!
37  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Surge Protection for Antminer in Canada on: July 11, 2018, 08:26:48 AM
This topic seems to come up alot, as people just buying miners want to protect their investment. However, unless you are
running equipment in an old rickety lean-to without a breaker box, "surge protectors" are a waste of money. Also, the PSU
should be considered as a "surge protector", as they are built to "pop" before the equipment they power. Ultimately, it's
an individual's choice because they want "peace of mind", but a little more research might make your ROI more Profitable.

Return to the main mining support section, and type "surge protector" in the search bar, it might save you some money.

In reference to the whole Flush, oops, Slush debacle:

The only reason that Pool got sooo big, ultimately, is Familiarity. Far too many people buy equipment, THEN research what
pool to join. They do a google search, and quickly identify Slush as " The World's First Bitcoin Mining Pool". Instantaneously
they think, it has to be the best because, it's the first, and it's soo big. Slush must be Trustworthy.

After joining, the user is mesmerized by the sleek gui, and the instant gratification of a daily payout, which every online
calculator makes them believe they must get. Most feel a sense of false security watching the blocks being found, one after
another, not ever understanding or learning what really happens "behind the scenes" of that slick gui. To them, everything
is simply "plug and play" and Slush is on call running the "boards".

It's at that point of blissful ignorance, that they are actually being taken advantage of, by a Corporate Committee. The users
don't realize, Slush, is comparable to The Wizard of Oz. Sure, he did start a Cooperative Mining effort, and began laying the
foundation for Pools, but he took the money and run, so to say. The reigns were handed over to a Committee. Slush went on
to other areas, and focused his time on Hardware Wallets. He just gets Royalties for "his" name at this point. That Committee
completely controls the pool, from behind the curtain of Slush's namesake.

Meanwhile, at Slushpool, the Committee focused on Growth. That's where things like Mass advertising, and a slick gui paid
off in spades. Imagine if you will, how much money that Committee earns, from that 2% fee. That's surely going to motivate
them, to keep the users coming to them. They completely understand, how advertising to the "instant gratification" miner
works. That's why Slush is now advertised as "The World's First Bitcoin Mining Pool to Support Asicboost". They worked
very closely with Halongmining, and their Marketing team, to ensure Slush would get the Lion's Share of DragonMint users.
Hell, Halongmining doesn't even advertise for the pool they test their equipment on, and that pool operator wrote their software.
They know users are Familiar with the name--Slush. They can appear to be Trustworthy to consumers, if Slush vouched for them.
It's a Corporate Win/Win that made Millions of dollars.

All the while, users see the pool plow through blocks, and they get their daily payouts. However, are they getting their fair share???
Do they even notice, or suspect any foul play??? Do any of them question how Trustful, the "World's First" is??? Probably not, and
that Corporate Committee understands that, as long as the user is receiving, what the online calculator tells them they SHOULD
earn, nobody will bat an eye. Most of their users have very little knowledge, of what their equipment ACTUALLY does. They just
buy it, hook it up, add Flush as their pool of choice and BOOM!!! They're the owner of a Magical Money Machine, just like the one
they read about online.

Ignorance is Bliss!!!
