About the only way to do it is to find someone on here that needs some work done.
Or maybe you have a skill you can sell---I read a post earlier where a guy is selling guitar lessons.
722  Other / Beginners & Help / Soo...You're a Noob??? on: February 22, 2015, 09:12:13 PM
Be prepared to go through a good ole fashioned hazing for being new!!!

Just so everyone knows---just cause I'm new doesn't mean I'm a F*ckin' Retard
or a Back Stabbin' Scammy B*tch!!! I'm a 36yr old man who has some experience
under his belt---Not a wet behind the ears kid who is lookin' for a get rich pipedream.

With that all aside heres some advice for those new to this forum:

Be careful who you deal with. There are scammers out there. There are also people who just wanna see you crash and burn.
They will egg you on and put you down.

Learn as much as you can---There ARE people on here that do care and actually know what they are talking about.

Get to know your wallet---Easiest way to do that is Buy some Bitcoin, or if Your shaky on that, Look at faucets.
Faucets are a fun way to kill some time and get small amounts of free Bitcoin. Also join a signature campaign,
you'll get paid for your posts.

If you want to mine---check out the hardware section and get some education on it. While you are there
don't be discouraged by people who are telling you that you are wasting your time. You might not be.

Don't be afraid to ask some questions---Some people will talk to you like you're a child(cause they forget they were a noob at one point)
But Many people will help you find the correct answer or atleast point you in the right direction.

More than anything---Spread the word about bitcoin!!! Tell your friends, family and coworkers.
The more people who get to hear about Bitcoin the better it is for ALL of us!!!

Goodluck to you ALL!!!  Shazam!!!

723  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: February 22, 2015, 08:46:49 PM
No home miner,no crypto-coin.

And that's the bottom line!!! I just can't see warehouses full of industrial miners keeping
Bitcoin alive. There are Thousands of home miners that keep it going. Spondoolies is a good
company and we'll see if they wanna keep the Bitcoin Spirit alive.
724  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Cell phone internet? on: February 22, 2015, 08:30:49 PM
USB tether your phone to the host PC.

I kinda figured that would be the case. I found a video on you tube using a pi http://youtu.be/x_yhJ_QBfaU
I'm gonna look around some more and see if anyone has had luck with a wifi dongle. I think that might work as well.
Thanx for the advice.

It depends on the miner, if you mine using add-on devices and raspberry pi, you can use raspberry pi as the controller while the miners (like S1) mine.. you can use a wifi-dongle for this case.

If you use antminers s3, you can add antenna to them and connect them through wi-fi.

Thanx for the feedback. I think I might give this a go around in the next few weeks to
see if it will work with out interruption. The reason I want to try is I have a strong power source
just out of range from internet service. Plus that service gets lost at random times. Other wise I'd try a
range extender.
725  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: February 22, 2015, 08:14:26 PM
You make it sound like it will be a 7 foot 60kw tower :p

While the average person might have 100 amp service and could maybe spare half of that,  some others may have 200 amp service, half of that is about 24kw at 100% load.
12U, 16kw, 10 replaceable hashing boards.

if that's 1 unit...I'm out. 3-5kw is all I can handle atm. That's not big, that's a behemoth!!!

All I can say is I hope Spondoolies can see there is a big market for home miners and will help us!?!?!?

727  Economy / Services / Re: GUITAR LESSONS on: February 22, 2015, 05:38:49 PM
I was thinking of doing something like this as well...only problem, and one you might face---Sound.
Most computer speakers deliver amplified or acoustic guitar very poorly. Also the built in/desktop mics
are not the greatest. You can find SOME plug-ins that can help. GoodLuck with it. Smiley
728  Other / Meta / Re: Changing motherf&%* avatars on: February 22, 2015, 05:31:22 PM
everyone keeps saying February possibly March. Whenever it does happen it will be
fun to see what people choose to represent their image on here---be it a cat or a half
naked girl from Canada!!! Cheesy

I'm thinking of making a custom avatar for myself in Photoshop. What's yours going to be? Waiting for the new forum, it's almost the end of February now and no new forum...

I'm gonna do a custom as well. I'm undecided which way to go but it looks like I have some time to figure it out.

I can't help but notice as I was scrolling and reading that NOBODY in this thread
has a trust indicator under their name. Was that set by the OP???

No, it only shows in Marketplace.

and the mining areas....That's what I figured out. Sorry about the cause of confusion. My Bad.
730  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 50K Silk road coins to be auctioned 5 March. on: February 22, 2015, 04:59:12 PM
besides far from none....what are the chances that a normal guy like me could get some of these???
It would be nice if they went back to the victims of that whole mess, but this is what happens when
the government steps in. They will sell them to the highest bidder and the fiat will disappear!!!

I'd say go with TheGoodGuy419 and his site http://moneyinpjs.com/
I use his services in my free time and he has a good set-up. He has helped a lot
of people. GoodLuck!!!

735  Other / Off-topic / Re: What should I write about bitcoin in a post at my blog? on: February 22, 2015, 03:56:28 PM
whatever you choose to write about it...write it in a way that everyday people will understand.
Everything I've read is written in a way that makes my head hurt. We need something for mass acceptance.
Something that the average joe can wrap his mind around. Something he is comfortable talking to his coworkers
about without having the fear of sounding like a nerd. Anyway you go---Goodluck!!! Grin

Hi All,

We are Happy to announce that the SP20 has sold out.

It's not too late for those who want to own a Spondoolies-Tech unit as we continue to offer the SP31.
http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/products/sp31-yukon-shipping-from-stock

These are the last of our second generation units that will be available while we continue our development of the third generation.

A big thank you from all of us at Spondoolies-Tech to all SP20 reviewers, customers, and enthusiasts!

Regards,

Gadi

And now that these are all gone and the 31's are next in line...Can you drop any info about the time line of the 3rd gen???
I personally have been holding my bankroll to see whats next and when it will happen.

Agreed, let's stick to plug and play rack mount, I'm excited to buy the new gen ASAP!

As for providing 4 x 120VAC plugs... get a 30amp 220 plug, or unplug your dyer Tongue lol

I would think 220-240 would be best for any set-up running more than 2 miners. I also like the Idea of rack mount cause its a little bit
easier to control the environment. Anyway...the sooner the better!!!
737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 6 Bitcoins to invest on: February 22, 2015, 03:15:10 PM
I'm curious to where OP eventually decided to invest. Huh

I am also curious about his investment. It would be nice to see some threads with results posted.
I should say good results...cause we see the scam results far to often!!!

739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin foundation is a very bad idea on: February 22, 2015, 01:04:36 PM
They should come up with a decentralized voting system and have people around the world freely vote on how they want bitcoin to be.

We have that already.  It's called mining.

I sure like the idea. Miners decide. You answered quite correctly about the fork question, but there are other issues. Shall we increase block size? By how much?

Another issue is that miners are no longer individuals on their home computers. They're now Chinese businessmen owning large web farms. Are they friendlier or any better than BTC foundation members?

I think that is alot of everyone's problem right now. The giant farms have taken away ALOT of individual mining positions
that were once held by people who had faith in Bitcoin. These people could have made the network stronger. Now its a few
BUISNESS men making the decision for thousands of people that have their hands tied.
740  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: HOME MINER: Lacking products in market. on: February 22, 2015, 12:48:09 PM
There are only a couple of companies that seem willing to let their sticky fingers drop some
of the technology they are working with. Read through some of the threads on the forum
to get an idea of what you like. There are a lot of people on here that will help you out.
My advice---If it seems to good to be true it is!!! We are still in Q1 and something new
is just around the corner. Goodluck!!!
