There are a dozen reasons why a 10btc Casascius was peeled; inherited, stolen, anonymity (not selling directly), fear of transporting high value, etc... The conundrum we all deal with here is the higher the value of BTC, the less premium we demand on our coins. Arguably the best time to sell a Casascius is when BTC $ value is low, thus receiving say 18-19BTC for a 10BTC back when we were in the $200-300 range. Now you'd be lucky to get 13BTC. I buy Casascius as a way to force myself to hodl and ultimately to hand them down to my kids, eventually all of mine will be peeled.

We've still got some coins left. I'm replying to PM's and emails currently.
If you're still waiting on a reply from me, I apologize for the delay. You'll hear from me within the hour.
You mentioned reloading coins as a way to spur interest in Titan coins (which I thought wasn't a good idea in a previous post). Have you thought about actually minting a new set of coins? As of now, there are no real active mints with a solid reputation. Would be a good opportunity. Active mint or active maker? Plenty of "active" quality mints here in US and there are plenty of "active" coin makers as well. Really? I've been out of the game for a while, who's actively minting new BTC coins?

I'm glad the reload option wasn't realized. As an owner of all minted Titan's I would have been extremely disappointed if peeled coins were reloaded. The only thing it would have accomplished is making my Casascius coins more valuable as another mint (Titan) would have been considered untrustworthy.

I have a couple Cas 5's and they are the least attractive Cas coin made period. Totally my opinion but sometimes I'm in disbelief that these little shitty coins hold so much money. Then I realize it's awesome, so if you don't have one, buy one.

Any interest?
I've always seen the Casascius coins as a sort of hedge against the greater bitcoin market.
As BTC/fiat rises, it causes the Casascius coin to lose BTC value but still grow in fiat value. And as BTC/fiat falls, the Casascius coin grows in BTC value while softening the effect on it's fiat value.
Agreed, the best time to sell physicals is when the btc/usd price is low, you get more Btc premium. But try peeling it when BTC is at $50k, it's a hard decision. I just buy them and keep them for my kids. Literally it's Bitcoin I'll probably never sell. I might be interested, will hit you back in a couple days if still available.
