21  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: List Of The Longest Forum Signature Campaign Above 100wk That Left/Still Active on: May 21, 2024, 04:15:43 PM
It is interesting to recall some of the campaigns in which we were participants, and some of them are truly legendary, not only in terms of duration, but also in terms of how much they paid their participants. It is true that in its last period CM paid $6/post, but for most of the duration of the campaign it paid 0.0375 BTC max for 50 posts per week. Roughly calculated, it's just a little less than 2 BTC per year - I don't think anyone has managed to surpass that.

This is an old tweet, Recently Donald Trump is among the Top Supporters of Cryptocurrency.
The Dude have now realize the importance of Bitcoin and have decide to Join the winning Side

Who still trusts politicians? He is not pro-BTC, but sells some of his NTFs and tells what people want to hear - a classic populist. I'm not saying that the US will be worse for Bitcoin if Trump is re-elected as president, but it certainly won't be any better than it is now.

If more than one moderator handles those reports, I assume that it is possible that not all mods are aware of how many posts have already been deleted. Therefore, instead of reporting each post individually, report one post and put post history in the report description, where it will be visible what exactly that user is doing.

BPIP shows 45 deleted posts, and I don't think that user will do such things on the forum for a long time.

I have a younger brother who lives in the US and yesterday he told me about a call he received saying that he can get his lost coins back and all he needs to do is submit his wallet address.

The question arises, how does someone know that he has lost coins, and on top of that they are calling him on his phone number? It seems to me that he is being called by the same people who stole his coins and are now trying to pull off a double scam.

Before saying that I am a fool, I know this is a scam, but I need to ask about what could possibly go wrong if he submit a wallet address? I did told him to submit a random wallet address that is empty with no single transactions in the past though but I can't stop thinking what this could lead to.

I believe that the address is only the beginning and in itself is probably irrelevant. Based on that address, the scammers will "conclude" that it is possible to return the coins, but in return they will demand that your brother pay in advance. Unfortunately, that's why I call it a double scam, and many fall for this cheap trick.
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have some old BTC wallet from 2013 on: May 21, 2024, 10:42:48 AM
this is also the first thing that came to my mind, keeping the old wallet in his desktop, it means OP's friend is holding something, it's possible that he has an investment held there.
~snip~

We can guess as much as we want, but in the end it may just be a wallet that contains nothing. The man was curious and downloaded the BTC wallet, after some time he apparently deleted it and the wallet file remained. It was a very different time than today with a lot of doubt in BTC, and about seventy times less price than today.
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have some old BTC wallet from 2013 on: May 20, 2024, 03:51:43 PM
No sadly ne never talked about it or mentioned anything in regard to crypto. That is what it makes it strange.
~snip~

This is nothing strange, considering that the wallet is from 2013, it is possible that your friend invested some money in BTC then and completely forgot about it. Besides, it is not advisable to talk about such things, and maybe he was aware of that.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Runes will be worthless. Don't waste your precious BTC on huge fees. on: May 20, 2024, 01:48:46 PM
I hope I'm wrong about this, but something tells me it won't be long before the next incarnation of snake-oil is being hyped up by sleazy little grifters.  Fewer people seem to fall for it each time now, which is a positive, but the parasitic leeches seem determined to sell crap to gullible idiots.  I doubt this is the end.  They'll just come up with a new disguise for the same, old, worthless shit.

Of course, there will be a new thing, I doubt we won't have one in a few months, just give them time to unload completely this crap to users so they don't end up with unsold merchandise and they will invent the new big thing, if jpg monkeys sold that well what wound't sell?

That saying "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me" is obviously not valid in the world of cryptocurrencies, and there is a high probability that we will see the next ordinal stupidity as soon as investors forget how "smart" they were with their investments the first two times. I hope that the developers will do something before that - let the children play in the playground, not in the place for adults.
28  Economy / Speculation / Re: Donate $100 the day bitcoin hits $100k. on: May 20, 2024, 01:30:18 PM
The day Bitcoin hits $100k will be a day of celebration for Bitcoin users.

It is logical that people who have invested in BTC will celebrate when this happens, but I think we have already had many similar celebrations - I remember when BTC reached $1000 (albeit not the first time), or when it reached $10 000, but also $50 000. In the end, these are just numbers that will quickly go down in history, because there should be no doubt that a new goal will be set right after that.

To make this festival day more memorable we can make this day festive by giving money or food among the poor. Arrange food for the poor people around you who don't have food, help those who lack money by giving money.

I wouldn't wait for 1 BTC to reach some kind of value to help someone who needs help today, of course assuming I have the money to do it today. For those who cannot set aside some money to help others, saving is a good choice - although I would warn everyone not to make their good deeds directly related to investing in cryptocurrencies. Sometimes good deeds can attract bad people who will come and try to take everything you have.
29  Economy / Economics / Re: The End of Credit/Debit Cards on: May 20, 2024, 01:09:57 PM
~snip~

Today, people use virtual cards that they add to mobile wallets and pay via NFC on POS devices - and I don't see why the CBDC would change anything much when it comes to digital payments. In addition, when it comes to the EU, it was said that the maximum amount that a person will be able to have in such a digital wallet will only be EUR 300.

Regardless of what happens, I don't think that big companies will just give up - and neither will central banks just take over their business. There is probably some kind of compromise that will be made to satisfy both parties.
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have some old BTC wallet from 2013 on: May 20, 2024, 12:49:45 PM
So now I am not sure what to do, should I just keep it or try to open and see ( i really doubt there is anything there ).

The matter is quite clear, you got access to the computer, and now you just need to get permission to load that file and see what's in it - of course, do it in the presence of his parents.

If there are coins inside i won't be able to use/transfer them without pass and bruteforce wont probably work.

Maybe you found an empty wallet, and maybe the wallet doesn't have any protection - even if it does, maybe you'll find the password somewhere in his personal belongings or on the computer. In any case, whatever you do, be careful not to download a fake wallet - and if you want to try Electrum, I advise you to read -> [GUIDE] How to Safely Download and Verify Electrum [Guide]

@SAHASAN, challenge for you - read the forum rules and tell me what you are doing wrong in this topic? You might even get a prize Wink

I don't hold btc BTC for ATH I just hold it as a wealth and true decentralized blockchian platform,

A question for you - would you have the same opinion about Bitcoin if its price was $1? Maybe the question is a bit pointless, but what attracts most people to BTC is something else...

Bitcoin for Freedom
@BTC_for_Freedom
Apple, Microsoft, Google, Meta, Nvidia and Amazon will all start buying #bitcoin  in silence next week since the 90- day trading delay is over. They will all announce it in August that they have bought. This might be the last weekend to buy BTC below $0.1M.
https://x.com/btc_for_freedom/status/1792161269153239346

I obviously missed something, but what exactly is that 90-day trading delay which prevented them from buying BTC before? Anyway, if it took them 15 years to figure out what Bitcoin is, they're not as intelligent as they think they are, are they?
33  Economy / Gambling / Re: I would like to place a $1,000,000 bet on: May 19, 2024, 01:56:36 PM
Why did anyone think the OP really had $1 million? It's just a dirty tactic that leads to someone contacting him on PM and asking about that event - and then of course he'll try to sell it. As we can see, everything ends up with simple insults, no money, no bets Lips sealed
34  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Ambulance - Campaign - Ukraine on: May 19, 2024, 01:39:10 PM

Maybe we can manage to finance a complete ambulance here via this platform, that would be mega.

That would really be a great achievement, and perhaps such a vehicle could also have a special sticker that would indicate that it was sponsored by donations from some members of the BTT forum Wink

~snip~
And special thanks to @1miau and @Lucius and other friends who are supporting this campaign with their contribution.

There is no need to single out anyone in particular, because every donation is equally valuable.
35  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🏆 AnonBet.net - No-KYC Slots and Sports Betting with Bitcoin [20 FREE SPINS] 🏆 on: May 18, 2024, 01:35:12 PM
Withdrawals
Withdrawal requests will be manually approved and sent within 24 hours. You can request a withdrawal and check your withdrawals history/status under the Withdrawals section in your profile. At least one deposit is required in order to withdraw funds.

A deposit is required before withdrawing funds. Don't take risks.

I don't know if this is something that is common in online casinos, but it reminds me of a classic scam with fake CEXs where you first get a certain amount completely free, but for withdrawal you first need to make a deposit. However, considering that this is a NO-KYC casino that also offers a bonus for every registration, I don't see how players would not abuse it if there is no protection.
36  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Which crypto exchange do you think has the best referral program? on: May 18, 2024, 01:18:05 PM

Didn't know expressing ones personal opinion and communicating on a thread was a crime here mate. 🤷

Expression of opinion and communication is a completely logical thing on the forums - what you do with your alt accounts is shilling a certain service - and advertising in posts is not allowed according to the rules of the forum. There are completely legal and common ways of advertising on this forum.
37  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is "Sell in May" really a good idea (in the case of Bitcoin)? on: May 18, 2024, 12:52:00 PM
@justdimin, one of the forum members posted this link where you can see interesting information about spot ETFs (US). There are probably some other sources, but I think you can see all the important information on this link.
38  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is "Sell in May" really a good idea (in the case of Bitcoin)? on: May 18, 2024, 10:44:15 AM
The most convincing reason I heard is that it was caused largely of a decreasing inflation (and thus: interest rate) expectation in the US since the last Fed meeting. Basically I think it could have been contributed that stock markets are rallying worldwide, which is usually also a good sign for Bitcoin because it shows that people are willing to invest in riskiear assets.

This is something that is definitely being talked about a lot, and I hope that interest rates in the US will go down as soon as possible, because here in the EU, most such decisions are made only after the US, and considering that I live in a country that depends a lot on tourism, the prices of products and services usually go wild in the summer months because the demand generated by tourists is an excellent opportunity for extra earnings.

As I can see, it is already the fifth day in a row that we have recorded positive inlows in spot ETFs, so even though it is not even close to what happened in February and March, it still has an evident effect on the price.

I haven't found such a wide orderbook aggregator.
~snip~

I sincerely doubted that such a thing existed, maybe some people have such information, but do not share it publicly. It seems to me that we could see the real action only in 3-4 months, but it is possible that the old patterns will not repeat themselves as most expect.
39  Other / Meta / Re: Forgot password. Assistance needed. on: May 18, 2024, 10:16:47 AM
I think you will have to be patient, because such things are very sensitive, and only a few people work on them - who also have their own real life. In addition, you are certainly not the only one who has a similar problem, so you will obviously have to wait for your turn.
40  Other / Meta / Re: Should mods make a post to justify why they locked a thread? on: May 18, 2024, 10:05:52 AM
The only reason for a thread to be locked is " There's nothing more to discuss further ", so I guess someone reported that to mod and they took the action or atleast that's what my assumption about locking threads by mod.

If you had read at least a few posts in this topic, then you wouldn't have guessed what happened - too many people only read the titles and the first post in the topic, and that's why their posts look like yours.

Not wanting to call into question the analysis you made, I ask:
Why does a topic have to be closed, just because you think everything has already been discussed on the subject?

Looking at the topic you gave as an example. The topic has 10 pages, I can read the OP and the following two or three pages, and be interested in saying something about it. Maybe even ask something. What would be the problem if I made a post, 10 pages after the debate?
You will say that the answer to my question or the point I wanted to highlight has already been mentioned before. Yes, it may be true, but that's no reason for me not to be able to express myself.

Based on what you wrote, do you think that repetitive content is completely acceptable and that regardless of what someone wrote before you, you have some sort of "right" to express yourself and repeat it in your own way? No offense, but I didn't expect such an answer from someone like you.

In addition, the topic has 12 pages.
