421  Economy / Reputation / Re: Since Richbased locked his thread.... on: February 15, 2024, 02:54:26 PM
@The Sceptical Chymist, I think you should be much more careful with who you give merits to, because I think many abuse your "service".
Yep.  I definitely try to weed out alt accounts, and I've refused merits to a lot of members lately (which nobody sees).  I've also stopped giving merits for posts in the gambling section, so I'm definitely aware that people are trying to game me and do my best to swat them like flies--but I've no doubt there are some who still get over on me.  Thanks for the feedback, Lucius.

Everyone can make a mistake (be deceived) and give merit to someone who doesn't deserve it, but someone who is a merit source and also offers a service like you is definitely the target of all those abusers who will do everything to rank their alt accounts as soon as possible.

But as one of their members says, they use AI tools even at the academic level, so this should not be disputed on the forum Roll Eyes
OK, that's fucking frightening.  How can I even deal with members who do that and request post reviews?  Most of the time I don't even know what country people are from when they send me PMs.  Ugh.

It would not be fair to put all members from a single country on the blacklist just because a part of them decide to do such things, but even if you wanted to, you would have to check every user in a way to check in which local board they write. Perhaps it would be best if the whole thing were not private but public, as is the case with the @fillippone thread.

By the way, what I was mentioning -> Plagiarism vs AI Posting
422  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will this stack make me a USD millionaire? on: February 15, 2024, 11:52:03 AM
And that amount can also vary in satisfaction from what country you're from, that 1 million could be good for about 10 years if you don't splurge on luxury in some countries like USA, UK or any rich EU countries but if you have that much amount of money in some countries, you're probably set for life like in my country, that would probably be enough money to get you through retirement, that is if you're smart enough on how to spend it so even if you're not working, money is still generated because to be honest, 1 million USD is probably not a lot of money in my country anymore.

The OP didn't mention what kind of life he's interested in retirement, but I agree that for any kind of luxury life anywhere in the world, $1 million won't last very long, but for someone who would be happy spending about $5000 a month (about $60k a year) that amount would could take about 15 years.  Of course, with a smaller amount on a monthly basis, the average person could live solidly even for 20+ years in most EU countries.

However, with so much money, I would not just spend without taking advantage of a good opportunity for a new investment.
423  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: A problem with creating a new wallet on android version of electrum on: February 15, 2024, 11:27:36 AM
I know I'm raising an old topic, but I have a problem that I also can't create a new wallet in the latest version of Electrum on Android, which is an upgrade from an older version. I have about a dozen wallets that I can open properly and they all have the same password, but when I try to create a new wallet the "next" button remains gray.

What is actually the easiest solution to this problem - or should I simply switch to another wallet, given that the Electrum team really annoys me with their "upgrades" that hardly make any sense (at least to me personally).
424  Economy / Reputation / Re: Since Richbased locked his thread.... on: February 15, 2024, 11:18:23 AM
These two accounts come from the same country (Nigeria), perhaps members from Nigeria can do further research regarding the discussion patterns or posting patterns of these two accounts.
~snip~

The team from Nigeria (with some exceptions) is increasingly in the Reputation board because of theirs "specific behavior", and that is a very mild expression. Whether it's mass creation of alt accounts, merits abuse, using AI to "beautify posts". But as one of their members says, they use AI tools even at the academic level, so this should not be disputed on the forum Roll Eyes

@The Sceptical Chymist, I think you should be much more careful with who you give merits to, because I think many abuse your "service".
425  Economy / Reputation / Re: Impersonation of my wallet address. on: February 14, 2024, 05:37:36 PM
So, let me get this straight: both users registered a month apart, both use the same local board, both are in a gambling signature campaign, both have the same posting style, both send each other Merit, both take a loan from the same user with the same centralized currency.... I see a pattern here. It looks like you mistakingly used the wrong wallet address.

Another one of those threads that were meant to justify some stupid move, and ended up revealing a lot more than the OP could ever hope for. It's incredible how people reveal themselves without anyone asking or accusing them of something Roll Eyes

The next real resistance is $60K.

The next real point of resistance is at $100k, anything below that is just preparation for the real thing🚀

By end of 2025 with 7 BTC and 70 ETH you will have a one million USD exposure to crypto
What are your thoughts?

Maybe 7 BTC will be enough for you to become a millionaire in USD, because for that to happen you need a price of 1 BTC = $140k+. If that $1 million can satisfy you in life, then you can retire early or whatever - of course when you pay the tax Wink
428  Economy / Economics / Re: Food security might not be a priority for younger generations. (2) on: February 14, 2024, 11:32:15 AM
There is a huge possibility of younger or new generations adopting cryptocurrency investments compared to them getting interests on farming and food related sectors. What do you think? Does it have a good or bad effects on our economy?

In general, it is bad that society is turning more and more into system addicts, rejecting any form of self-sufficiency at the same time. Modern societies of the western world think that food falls from the sky straight into shopping centers where they just come, choose what they want and pay with their card. Unfortunately, this approach to life causes the mass production of mostly poisoned food and the destruction of the environment and drinking water.

All this has a very negative effect on people's health, and more and more sick people are just a burden for any economy, no matter how successful it is. I don't know if any of you have heard of the areas of the world called "blue zones", but that's one of the ways people should try to live because today's way of life will fall on our heads sooner or later.
429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Spot ETFs hit $10 Billion milestone just one month after approval on: February 14, 2024, 11:01:36 AM
~snip~
How many bitcoin do you think these funds will hold by the end of the year? Over a million? The sky is the limit.

Maybe 500k BTC, maybe 1 million BTC - but doesn't anyone think that spot BTC ETFs are not a one-way street and what will happen when all of them (or most BTC) go in the other direction? People who invest in this way have no other intentions than to profit, so even though it looks incredibly positive for the price right now, I think the next bear market will be one of the toughest we've had yet.

But there is no point in speculating about it and spoiling the moment of great enthusiasm, because the bulls have finally woken up and are destroying everything in front of them.
430  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBTC CSS broken? on: February 14, 2024, 10:37:52 AM
Have you tried VPN while connected to your wifi? It could be workaround for your problem. Anyway, i just inspect network connection when opening freebitco.in and found out it access some CSS and JS file from 3rd party website. It's possible your ISP block one of them.

As for the specific site, it may not be wise to try to log in with a VPN, because any change of IP address usually activates a security check (verification via e-mail), although it may also result in account blocking if someone on the other side suspects that the OP has more than one account.

Okay, so I tried logging in using my work computer which is on my same network, same issue.  Tried on my phone, but turned off my wifi and sure enough it worked--turned on wifi and the page broke.  This makes absolutely ZERO sense to me.
~snip~

@ABCbits is then very likely right, your internet service provider is blocking something from that page for some reason and preventing it from loading properly, and one of the possible solutions would be to contact them and explain your problem. Maybe they (the ISP) have changed something in your modem (this can be done remotely), and if your modem has a firewall option, it is possible that this is the reason you have problems loading that page.

How about learning to post pictures that are the appropriate size for the forum? Otherwise, refrain from such posts, which do not benefit anyone, and only cause problems for everyone who has slow internet and limited data traffic.

In addition, you are promoting CW shitcoin and a website that directly supports this scammer Angry
432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin commercials on: February 13, 2024, 03:59:32 PM
I'm not someone who would promote the CEX in question, but when we have one of the most beautiful sportswomen in the world and one of the most popular soccer players in the same advertisement, maybe that deserves attention in this topic Smiley

But since OP mention free spin (which usually offered by casino), gambling board is probably better option.

I'm pretty sure that the OP is referring to the freebitco site that offers free spins via e-mail once every 24 hours, and since I've been a member of that site for about 10 years, I can only say that everything works normally for me. Given that the OP has tried different browsers, it is hard to say what is causing the page to not display correctly, but since others are not reporting such a problem, it must be something specific to his computer/internet.
434  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Do Kwon arrested on: February 13, 2024, 11:13:06 AM
Upon researching the documentary, it's entitled "Bitconned". It's now on my watchlist. It seems like an interesting documentary for Bitcoin and also educational purposes.

Yes, it's that documentary - and I avoided watching it for a long time because I don't like stories where criminals get away without any punishment. It's really incredible what a man did without getting any punishment for it.

It can be similar to that situation but is there any known accomplices with Do Kwon that they may try for a bigger fish to catch or something?

What I do know is that there were a lot of famous people who promoted that project, and the famous Michael Novogratz tattoo was remembered as one of the dumber moves. Also, not so long before everything went downhill, CZ and his CEX were promoting these tokens/stablecoins as a "safe investment", and accordingly it seems to me that Do Kwon has something to offer the US authorities for some sort of settlement.
435  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A blog about someone planning to retire early with Bitcoin on: February 13, 2024, 10:52:11 AM

It is worth noting that in order to put 500 Euros on the side every MONTH means you need a pretty good salary out here in Europe.  I would assume it is more likely that average Europeans would be able to put less than a quarter of that on the side instead.
But even then.  100 Euros per month since 2017 would get you to about 50 thousand Euros today with an investment of 7.2 thousand.  Amazing none the less.

...

Did you maybe read my post? I wrote something about it, so you could get a much better picture of how much someone can set aside per month for such investments.

Fun side note, I was talking to someone at the dog park yesterday who I had never met and I mentioned I retired early and he was like "oh you must have that bitcoin money", and I was like oh wow yes actually that's exactly it I retired off of Bitcoin. I like when people I meet recognize the wealth creation power of Bitcoin without me even prompting them!

You must live in a very safe country or you don't care too much about your own safety when you talk about such things with strangers in the park. Maybe the stranger doesn't have bad intentions, but someone else who hears a story about a person who has a lot of money might not have such good intentions.
436  Economy / Reputation / Re: AI Spam Report Reference Thread on: February 13, 2024, 10:32:57 AM
What would you say when you get results like these?

The anticipated BTC bull run we've been awaiting has already begun, in fact, we're already in the midst of the upward surge. Today, I truly realized this hidden secret when I was just checking my watchlist and noticed the recent movements on the BTC chart over the past three months.BTC has formed a very robust bullish pattern known as the V-pattern. This V-pattern emerges as a bottom price pattern when an asset stops decreasing in value or when buyers in the market overwhelm sellers. Upon recognizing this pattern, I recalled the advice shared by experienced members in this forum to "buy the lows of the markets" and the ongoing bull run we're experiencing.
These opportunities are not distant, they're happening now, so let's seize the moment, my friends. I've already invested in BTC myself ☺️, but please note that this isn't a direct recommendation for you to buy as well. Be sure to conduct your own analysis and research before making any decisions.

That feeling when everyone is fighting to take any seat and you sit in the first class of the train and drink champagne - priceless Cool

Our train looks more like this:

It reminds me of wagons from Snowpiercer

The train just passed the $50k mark🚂

Shrinkflation seems to be one of the biggest problems in the US - because a great leader addressed the people and shared his thoughts Roll Eyes Personally, I don't even mind that the packaging of unhealthy products has decreased, because that should be good for health, right?

I would answer - this is great! Healthy competition is always good. Monopoly is evil)

I'll just say that not only did you show a high dose of amateurism with your service, but you also show that you don't even know how to read. I really don't know what's wrong with people who agree to test things like this - because it's obvious that you'll have to write a review, which I have no doubt will be positive.

If the whole thing goes the way most similar projects do, you'll just be participating in it in a very cheap way...
