201  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: New Bitsumo.com - Buy Online With Bitcoins on: July 15, 2014, 11:15:48 PM
Hey Guys Smiley,
Haven't posted in a while (sorry), been quite busy with orders but I will try to carve out more time for the thread starting now.

I just want to let everyone know we are placing a blanket ban on orders from Chinese sites. There has been a disproportionate amount of fraud going on there and it's caused me a lot of grief so I think it's just better to avoid these sites in future. Unfortunately, a couple of bad apples tend to ruin it for everyone.

I hope everyone is having a great day Smiley.

Data has seemed to stop on July 15th for my bitstamp account.

Graph is frozen and hourly price listings says "Loading Data"

Cleared browser cache(chrome), start/stop browser, restart.  Rest of reconfig of API key.  So joy found yet on version 3.0.6.

Any ideas?

That's strange. Could you please send me the info requested below? I should be able to get this sorted for you within a few hours.

1. Go into the "manage extensions" page.
2. Enable "developer" mode by checking the "developer" box in the upper tool bar.
3. Go to the extension and click on the "generated_background_page.html" link.
4. When the new window opens, choose the "console tab"
5. Copy and paste the info there to pastebin.com as close to the time of your issue as possible and send it to me at Pablo@Butter-Bot.com.

Question to all customers or ex-customers.. I've started receiving spam mails about trading software recently. Anyone else have the same problem? If so: Pablo, might there be a leak in your database from which someone is grabbing e-mail adresses?

Just asking. It may as well be some combination of tracking cookies on this forum or any other bitcoin site and may not have anything to do with ButterBot, or it may be completely random.

There is nothing obvious that we can see and we perform security checks regularly so it's extremely unlikely. Regardless, we will look into this in depth.

I'll let you know if we find anything, otherwise, all's good.

Thank you for the heads up.

Pablo.

Pablo,

I hope you are still watching this thread.  I have a question regarding Butterbot.

I downloaded the demo to sample it yesterday.  Today I had it all set up and I began getting email notifications of sell orders it was making.  I got 8 total sell orders triggered.  However, when I checked my BTC-E balance and order history, nothing had happened.  There is no money pulled out of my balance for these orders.

What am I doing wrong here?

Thank you!

Hey Smiley,
Of course I'm on the thread! We're just in stealth mode right now working on Butter-X Smiley.

Please drop me an email at Pablo@Butter-Bot.com, I need some info from your client and I can get you sorted more quickly over email.

Is Bitfinex in the pipeline? It is now the biggest exchange.

Something we will definitely look into after the release of Butter-X V1. We want to add as many exchanges as possible but we are focusing on getting Butter-X out the door first and then adding these incrementally.

can we see some screenshoots of butter cream?

Hey Smiley,
I'm going to post a couple ASAP. I haven't done that yet because our creation interface is quite unique and we don't want to spread it around too much before the release; but I'll be sure to post some teasers ASAP.

Hi im looking for an arbitrage bot that will buy bitcoins on bitstamp and sell them on a  different exchange with an api. Im a total noob so I dont know where to look or how to code. Are there any options currently available?

Hey Lay Smiley,
(Love the name BTW Smiley ) Arbitrage bots are almost impossible to build for the dominant BTC exchanges because very few of them, if any, support automated Fiat withdrawals. Also, if such a bot were possible to be built, which is not really possible, selling them would be pretty futile as each new entrant would greatly diminish returns for the rest of the community.

I hope that makes sense, please let me know if I can help in any way Smiley.

Pablo.
I wouldnt need it to have that many features.

What I need it to do is:
1) list bitcoins on exchange "A" for 2% more than bitstamp (in foreign currency).
2) when coins sell on exchange "A" - buy that amount of coins on bitstamp.

Thats it.
No transfers or withdrawals necessary at all.
Ive found threads online where lots of people are looking for such bots, so there definitely is a demand on the market for such a bot.

Example:
1) the bot sells 1 bitcoin for 350* UK pounds ($611 usd) on a local site through their api.
2) As soon as an amount is sold the bot then buys that amount of bitcoin for $600(market price) on bitstamp.
*the bot uses bitstamp price to keep the price constantly updated.

Hey Lay Smiley,
Ok I see what you are saying. No, we don't have that type of bot at this time, I'll be sure to see if it's something we can look into in the future.

Best,
  Pablo.

I'm back in here after getting over my loss at MtGox and reading up on some trading stuff.. currently not subscribed to ButterBot, but looking at your planned features for the hosted version. One question: would it enable something like anticyclic trading, e.g. trading so that a certain balance between the values of the different currencies will be maintained? e.g. I have 10btc at 100$/BTC and 1000$ on Bitstamp; the price rises to 200$/BTC, bot sells so I have 7,5BTC and 1500$ (preferrably after waiting for the up trend to level off). That would certainly draw my attention again.

Hey Smiley,
I suspect that wouldn't be too hard to do but right now we are focusing on the strategy editor and making that as versatile as possible. I'll suggest your idea to the dev, I'm sure we could include a funds management interface like that down the road Smiley.

UPDATE :

Hey guys Smiley,
Just as a general update: Closed Beta is going well and I think we will be able to open it to a few more users in August. We are working on financing to hire some more devs to speed things up, whenever I know something, you guys will too.

I'm here as always if anyone needs anything Smiley.

You figure out yet how you're going to grandfather in the current paying customers yet?  I haven't used the current bot for over a month now because for me it doesn't do what I need it to do, so I'm waiting to see what your new trading platform can do.

Hey Smiley,
I haven't been informed yet of exactly what the grandfather program will look like. I know that people who signed up earlier should get a bigger time bonus and that everyone will be allowed to migrate their remaining time on a schedule. The deal will definitely be better for those who have a current sub than those who don't. I'll update everyone as soon as I get the final word on that.

Why don't you drop me an email when you see the announcement expanding the Beta team? I will be happy to include you so you can see for yourself and decide what you want to do. I'm guessing we could do that in a month or so.

I hope that sounds reasonable Smiley.

Pablo.

How about a status update?  Sounds of crickets in this forum are very disturbing..

Hey Smiley,
Sorry, you're right, I'm not posting as much as I should. Honestly, Butter-X is consuming a lot of my time.

Update: We have 5 users and a couple of techs Beta testing Butter-X. So far so good, and we are adding features and fixing bugs as they come up. I think we should be able to do an open Beta in a couple of months. To raise community involvement I'll see if we can add some more Closed Beta users but right now we're in stealth mode until we get Butter-X to where we want it to be; which is another reason I haven't posted an update in a while

You can take a look at the starter site at Butter-X.com

Rest assured everything is moving along as it should and we will bring out a great new piece of software in a few months. We are running normal email support and sales so whatever anyone needs I'm here :=).

Does this Stamp news have any impact on butterbot?

Hi Smiley,
No, not really. A similar restriction has been in place for trading through the API's for a long while now. The API's would not process trading for amounts that the manual exchange would have accepted on either BTC-E or Bitstamp, I presume to curve market manipulation bots. We still recommend starting your Butter-Bot with 30-35 USD to avoid these issues.

Please let me know if you need anything at all Smiley.

Pablo.

@Pablo, I saw this message on ButterBot "Bitstamp error while buying BTC: "__all__: Minimum order size is $5". Please contact us about that.". Please advise.

Hey Mooncake Smiley,
Can you please tell me what version you are on? I'll get you sorted post haste after I have that info Smiley.

Pablo.

3.0.5.

Hey Smiley,
I talked to the developer, this has to do with the way the orders are triggered by the bot on the API. We will adapt how this is handled in the next version but for now, feel free to ignore the warning it doesn't have an effect on your trading.

Apologies for any confusion Smiley.

Pablo.

Actually, it does have an effect on trading. When trades are triggered, they do so multiple times. There is a large trade where most of the btc are bought/sold, followed by many small trades where the remaining btc are bought/sold. Due to the restriction from Stamp, these many small trades cannot be executed. Because ButterBot keeps on trying to execute them, emails are generated and sent. It gets pretty annoying to receive these numerous emails.

Hmm, I find surprising you are getting multiple emails. The small transactions are just the way the API handles transactions, unlike the main exchange (when you trade manually) where orders are execucted at once, API trades are executed in steps for what I assume are "security" reasons to avoid API abuse.

Let me talk to the dev and see what we can do, can you please send me (pablo@butter-bot.com) the logs requested below?

1. Go into the "manage extensions" page.
2. Enable "developer" mode by checking the "developer" box in the upper tool bar.
3. Go to the extension and click on the "generated_background_page.html" link.
4. When the new window opens, choose the "console tab"
5. Copy and paste the info there to pastebin.com as close to the time of your issue as possible and send it to me.

And:

1. In the developer tools open the network tab.
2. If it's empty, press F5 to reload the extension and wait a few minutes until there are some requests listed.
3 Then right-click the list in the left pane and select
"Save as HAR with content".
Please scan the file and remove your API Key from the text and send it to us.
This will help us resolve your issue much more quickly.

I am travelling tomorrow but I will get back to you on this Saturday at the latest, I apologize for the inconvenience.

Pablo.
