OK, install git:
Code:
brew install git

Then you should be able to get a copy of the bot:
Code:
git clone git://github.com/prof7bit/goxtool.git
cd goxtool
./goxtool.py --protocol=websocket

For the second command it tells me htat there is no such file or directory.

Worth noting: I didnt DL xcode, I just transferred the entire developer folder from a hard drive I had laying around to my laptop. Xcode works and opens fine but Im not sure if I had to put it somewhere in partcular because it is not showing up in the applications folder.
But the brew install worked?

Yep, brew worked fine Smiley.

How do I know this software dont steals my precious bitcoins or passwords?

Because you create the API key yourself and give it the access you want. You never give it your password.

Ok, I have xcode operational, what would the next step be?

Smiley
Did you install homebrew?  https://github.com/mxcl/homebrew/wiki/Installation

Yes Smiley.
1145  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Chrome Browser extension: MtGox trading bot on: April 23, 2013, 10:49:48 PM
I appreciate the feedback. I've been reading a all the threads on bots in the forum that I can find so forgive me if I get a tad mixed up.

As I understand it its a great plataform, but you have to code your own bots. Or are there bot modules around?

Also, any tips on how to get it running on osx? As I said my coding skills aren't even rudimentary but I do have a trading strategy I wan to implement.

Appreciate the help Smiley.

Paul.
There are two bots in the open right now, both written by the goxtool author (balancer and stop loss).

I will help you, but it is a process if you don't already have the tools.

Install XCode (from app store) or command line tools
Then install Homebrew

See here for info on those first two steps: https://github.com/mxcl/homebrew/wiki/Installation

Ok, I am DLing the apps you suggested. I found and installed goxtoolGUI and have it running if that helps out process at all:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=176489.80

Paul.
Actually that is a VERY good sign.

Do I still need to DL xcode?  If I have the GUI running?

Smiley
Yes probably because you will want to install git and that requires homebrew, and that requires xcode for compilation (whew.... that was a line)

Got it, thank you. I wil reply when I have it all installed.

Best.

sounds interesting. i may be interested in half but, you are so new to this forum.

Yes, I can't do anything about that unfortunately.

I can however offer proof of my identity and I can also offer proof that I have been trading in Linden Dollars (a virtual currency) since 2006 to which period my Second Life Delivery Avatar dates. I have also been selling WOW codes for several years and can offer proof as well.

In the end you have to decide for yourself what you are comfortable with but if you google my RL name or my avatar name or any of the webstores I am associated with you will not find a single allegation of fraud. The worst I have is late deliveries when I had some sort of delay, never exceeding 24 hours.

PM me and I am happy to provide you with the details so you can check me out and decide for yourself.

Best.

1148  Economy / Securities / Butterfly Labs 50 G/H ASIC on: April 23, 2013, 08:08:33 PM
I'm wondering whether anyone would be interested in partnering up and purchasing a 50GH ASIC Unit from butterfly labs.

http://www.bitcoinx.com/profit/

I would be wiling to sell 25 G/H at 50 USD per share. Each share would be constituted by 1 GH and would never expire. We would split the profits in this way for the life of the machine.

The machine would be hosted in Bolivia where electricity is dirt cheap and where qualified tech support that can not be provided by myself is even cheaper.

PM me if you are willing to deal, I have been up front about my identity and my phone number is in my signature, I will provide my RL details to those who sign up for the deal. Ideally Id like to deal with 2-3 people who buy most shared but I am willing to negotiate. If you only buy 1-2 shares I may increase the price to 55 USD per share.

Ive been dealing in Virtual Currency since 2006 and I am associated with TradeLindens.com and several other sites.

Okay, I DL'd the OSX binary and it works like a dream! Gratz guys, you did a great job.

I think the next step should be to introduce simple (or complex) bot trading modules based on different strategies. I personally would be happy to pay for a module or modules like this and I think a lot of people on the forums would as well. This could be made into a nice little business.

Thanks for all the work!

Paul.
1155  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Chrome Browser extension: MtGox trading bot on: April 23, 2013, 12:48:32 PM
You might want to check out goxtool, it is a platform for bots.  I have been very impressed.

I've looked at it and it looks like a great tool, but the issue is that my grasp of trading principles is better than my grasp of basic programming. Goxtool is a serious bot plataform but it would take me a couple of hours to figure out how to get it to run and I'm guessing set up a linux virtual machine on my mac. The beauty of the chrome extension is that it is powerful yet very simple to edit.

Business idea: An OSX/Windows bot that is just anapp and easy to install where bot mudules that anyone can create can be dragged and dropped. That would be valuable.
1156  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Chrome Browser extension: MtGox trading bot on: April 23, 2013, 12:21:14 PM
I've continued testing the original code and it seems to just stop running after a while.  The charts stops updating and the bot just stops trading. Yes, it does work if I reset the extension but that sort of defeats the purpose of it being a bot.

I still love this bot, its a neat piece of code.

I think that this could be made into a neat business, I would be happy to pay 20-25 USD for the extension if it were stable and had a few more features like frequency trading, etc. Perhaps the solution would be to approach it that way.

Best Smiley.
1157  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Chrome Browser extension: MtGox trading bot on: April 23, 2013, 02:07:57 AM
Yes, well implemented more frequent trading would be great. I'm sure enough of us could show our appreciation for such a useful mod to what is already an awesome and versatile bot Smiley.

Hope you get a chance to do that Smiley.
