Don't you mean Bitmain with their huge amounts of D3's? The diff of Dash skyrocketed way before Innosilicon even started shipping as far as I know.
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MMM - Mini Mining Mancave on: December 07, 2017, 06:37:10 PM
Tell me what is this model of horizontal risers - the connection of USB? And the use of wood is still a dubious option... Fire safety...

Those risers are mind blowing; so simple yet so much better. I bet the guy coming up with the default vertical design would bang his against a wall seeing it.

I'm running out of risers and now I know what kind I'll be looking to get.

Anyway, great pics OP. I used wood frames in the past and now I use metal frames with wooden shelves and I'm not even remotely worried because wood's flame temperature is quite high. Basically, it needs an existing fire for the wood to catch on fire at which point your rig will burn down anyway due to all the plastic and whatnot burning. With that said, I would not use wood at all if I were to scale my operation up from a few rigs. Just why risk it?

Personally, I also don't trust those small high capacity server PSUs. I mean my regular EVGA 1300W PSUs get HOT even around 1kw at the wall. And I also don't trust aftermarket power cables. I've melted a few risers and cables of low quality PSUs.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When will etherum overload stop on: December 07, 2017, 09:49:38 AM
Crypto kitties are taking most of the load in Ethereum blockchain and due to this most of the ICOs are delaying their crowdsale.

Once Raiden improved at a right time. Then we can be at safer side.

Kittens delaying scams. What a time to be alive.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Big difference between 1080 Ti version? on: December 07, 2017, 07:41:05 AM
I got 8 gigabyte cards 1080ti...still no problem until now 2 months working 24/24....if something happen i have 3 years warranty so i don`t care...they will change it ... Smiley
So you can buy without any problem use it then when the card die send to the warranty to replace it.

2 months is nothing really and yes, they will change it but it takes 1-2 months for them to do it - at least for me since it has to be shipped abroad with a chain of custody (I can't just ship it straight to Gigabyte).

And Gigabyte also doesn't sell replacement fans - which we could easily change if they did.

Anyway, if the price difference is small, why risk it?

206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: A lot of networks have -30+ % nethash. on: December 07, 2017, 12:23:49 AM
Going to be some big difficulty fluctuations. Will be interesting to see if prices follow or not.
Could be a great time to fill a few bags.

Yeah, I always suspected that nicehash was huge, but not this huge. Even the slower coins have started to significantly drop their difficulties. My profits as a solominer are way up!

Kind of crazy how much of an effect such an amateurish service that rips plug and play miners heavily off has.

At these times it really shows how much they take away from "real" miners. By real, I mean miners who put in the time to research coins and decide what to mine in contrast to normal nicehash users who usually have absolutely no idea what they mined as they just get paid in BTC...

Also, how could they had 4736 Bitocins in hot wallets?! Ridiculous. Almost suspect of being an inside "hack" (e.g. stealing of funds) but I'm not about to start rumors.
From the "real" miners?

What a joke! That's how it works. More players in the game = less payout.
They're the smart ones. Nobody wants alt-coins other than XMR, ETH, and LTC. We want BTC.

If someone creates software to automatically adjust miners on a scale like NiceHash, then it looks like you're out of business. And it will happen again so enjoy the free ride.

Good luck with your 1-2 years of ROI while we have months and you and your laziness is what makes everyone else's profits worse while also allowing both nicehash and nicehash bot operators to take two huge slices out of "your" cake. 4736 BTC kind of slices.

Nicehash being down, I already had as much as $12 profit per day per card for a few hours, now down to $10 for 1080 Ti's running down at 180 watts (from 300W).
207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are Deep Onion the only ALT Coin to hide their Team? on: December 06, 2017, 11:59:06 PM
OP's comment is like complaining about a dish that's too salty, completely ignoring that the whole dish is made out of warm dog turd.

DeepOnion is a 100% premined bullshit, centralized, useless noob-trap scam and you're talking about the devs being unknown.

I strongly belive that a coin is much better off if the devs are unknown (e.g. Bitcoin) because that means the coin doesn't have any personalities and politics and all that unecessary drama that comes with a person attached to it.

So your post almost comes down as a reverse troll post. Almost. That is if the average DeepOnion investor wasn't completely clueless crypto-wise.

You kind of missed an 'm' there in the title.
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NICEHAS hacked - Any legit alternatives? on: December 06, 2017, 09:36:55 PM
Being a miner; hopefully not. Lazy people shouldn't earn as much as they do with nicehash (which is still way too low compared to "manual" mining).

Call me what you want, but difficulty across the board has dropped significantly already and if a nicehash hack is what it takes to shake at least some of the plug and play miners who doesn't even have any idea of the coins they mine, as they only get paid in BTC, I'm all for it.
211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Big difference between 1080 Ti version? on: December 06, 2017, 08:36:15 PM
Stay very far away from Gigabyte Gaming cards! They have crappy sleeve bearing fans with toy-grade plastic that will die within months. They will make noise and they will slow down and die.

Same fans on GTX 970s lasted me close to a year but on the 1070s they lasted no more than 6 months!

So they came up with a premium deisgn with quality double ball bearing fans, called AORUS.

So either go with the AORUS series which have a super long lifespan or something else. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with ROG Strix cards (way overpriced here). But on the official page there's no mentioning of ball bearing so I suspect that's also subpar (double ball bearing is almost always advertised). The ASUS GeForce® GTX 1080 TI 11GB Turbo Edition (https://www.asus.com/us/Graphics-Cards/TURBO-GTX1080TI-11G/) has double ball bearing and it's advertised as well - though I'd not buy a single fan blower style card, 2-3 fans is the best in my opinion.

AORUS: http://www.gigabyte.us/Graphics-Card/GV-N108TAORUS-11GD
AORUS Xtreme: http://www.gigabyte.us/Graphics-Card/GV-N108TAORUS-X-11GD (higher clocks)
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NiceHash hacked? on: December 06, 2017, 08:25:32 PM

What a bunch of idiots for holding that much in hot wallets. Not surprising though given their amateurish history.

Also, based on the screenshot, Tanja knew she can't say anything and let the PR team come up with something which suggest that it's a hack. I mean if it was a technical issue, she wouldn't have straight orders not to say anything imo. Also, what technical issues a multipool could have that can't be solved within hours and one that involves moving funds to one address?

Edit: nevermind, hack confirmed.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: December 06, 2017, 08:21:12 PM
Apparently Nicehash got hacked and coin difficulties took a dive. Enjoy the extra profits while it lasts.

Edit:

Quote from their facebook (https://www.facebook.com/NiceHash/posts/2012613285624474):

Dear NiceHash users!

Unfortunately, there has been a security breach involving NiceHash website. We are currently investigating the nature of the incident and, as a result, we are stopping all operations for the next 24 hours.

Importantly, our payment system was compromised and the contents of the NiceHash Bitcoin wallet have been stolen. We are working to verify the precise number of BTC taken.

Clearly, this is a matter of deep concern and we are working hard to rectify the matter in the coming days. In addition to undertaking our own investigation, the incident has been reported to the relevant authorities and law enforcement and we are co-operating with them as a matter of urgency.

We are fully committed to restoring the NiceHash service with the highest security measures at the earliest opportunity.

We would not exist without our devoted buyers and miners all around the globe. We understand that you will have a lot of questions, and we ask for patience and understanding while we investigate the causes and find the appropriate solutions for the future of the service. We will endeavour to update you at regular intervals.

While the full scope of what happened is not yet known, we recommend, as a precaution, that you change your online passwords.

We are truly sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused and are committing every resource towards solving this issue as soon as possible.

Apparently the stolen funds (4736 BTC) went to this address: https://blockchain.info/address/1EnJHhq8Jq8vDuZA5ahVh6H4t6jh1mB4rq

What a bunch of idiots holding this much in hot wallets.

Edit#2: $12 profit per 1080 Ti @180 watts FTW!
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Looking to invest $500 each into 3 altcoins, suggestions? on: December 06, 2017, 08:14:28 PM
I would say DeepOnion, looks promising

But it doesn't though! It's going against the most basic crypto fundamentals. It's a noob-trap. Just look around how many people have it as signature.

@Parodium: It's very far from me to recommend coins but in case you're planning on holding for more than a few months, I'd suggest reading about PIVX. Be warned, that I'm a holder and therefore biased - which is why I just recommend reading about it and not just blindly investing. The reason PIVX comes to mind is because its USD chart is just beautiful (green line) and because you can stake your coins which means you're expected to earn much more than with just holding. I'm fully expecting it to go beyond $15 next year - but that's just my guess.
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will the crypto kittens problem be solved? on: December 06, 2017, 08:06:29 PM
Kittens is not really the issue, it's a symptom of a network with low fees being heavily used. There will be either network bloat and low fees which means not everyone is capable to run a full node, or a fee market will emerge, meaning microtransactions will be forced out.

This is why Bitcoin's transactions are where they are because we need a fee market, otherwise even 1GB blocks would be full with everyone's morning coffee and potentially hundreds of kittens-like projects.

216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Looking to invest $500 each into 3 altcoins, suggestions? on: December 06, 2017, 07:27:36 PM
If you are looking into Dash try DeepOnion it is undervalued at the moment and has great potential. Likewise the other two coins of Waves and NEO are solid coins however I dislike Ripple a lot and would avoid that coin. It simply has too much centralization for me to prefer it as a coin in my portfolio. Lastly I would take a look into coins like XRB, GBYTE, and MSP (RaiBlocks, Byteball, and Mothership respectively). All of them also seem undervalued to me and are due for a good run up.

Do you seriously consider Ripple too centralized but promote DeepOnion, a coin that's completely premined with massive amounts being controlled by the devs? That's hilarious.
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Undervalued coins .... on: December 06, 2017, 07:17:37 PM
You should never take other people's investment recommendations; they're only doing so to push the price of something they hold.

Look around, reasearch and make up your mind. But, I'd avoid anything that's premined (ICOs, airdrops, etc) and stick to solid and established projects.
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Long-term investment with Bittrex! on: December 06, 2017, 04:35:28 PM
I deposited to Bittrex without reading carefully about the withdrawn rule (verification issue), so now I cannot withdraw my money. So I decided to use this amount as a long-term investment and don't care about it until everything is ok.
So now, I want to choose a coin to put money in. Any suggestion? Which coin do you think it's potential? Thank you for your sharing.

You either try to get verified now (if you don't mind and trust Bittrex with your data) or you're better off saying bye to your funds now:

219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tell me I'm wrong: Does cryptokitties expose the weaknesses of ETH? on: December 05, 2017, 07:56:47 PM
This is basically the perfect argument towards a fee market. Which means free or even very low fees basically open up any network towards spamming/bloating attacks.

Same argument Bitocin has; some people want free transactions but that would mean that even 100GB blocks would be filled with junk like everyone's morning coffee or kitties games...

Now that even the high and mighty Ethereum with super fast blocks and high tps is getting spammed, maybe more and more people will realize that Bitocin X-MB block forks are not the answer.
220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Reset switch on: December 05, 2017, 07:03:56 PM
The reset switch on motherboards are just simply 2 wires if which you connect, the motherboard resets.

Like on the pic below if you short the two blue leads, the motherboard will reset - with any kind of switch really:
