Obligatory breakout confirmation dump?

By the way, you might want to change a number of your online passwords: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/5vuih9/internet_psa_cloudbleed_cloudflare_leaked/

That's very bad news in general... here are some only websites, scroll down to see the list of download full.

Regarding this issue are we safe with the OTP enabled?
I read that even OTP secrets could have been compromised

So basically Scamfinex wants you to believe there's millionaires just beating down the doors to buy all the bitcoins in sight on an exchange you would have to be insane to trust with your money, while on the more legit Bitstamp exchange the buys are less than 1/10th the size.  I almost feel like Bitfinex no longer has any users at all and we're just watching an API feed of one guy selling imaginary coins back and forth to himself.  I don't think they even have margin enabled anymore either.

Code:
while(true){
    scamfinex.api_controller.emit_transaction(100000*random()*btc, price_chosen_by_admin);
    time.sleep(random()*3*minute);
}

I hope we'll catch these guys one day

Confirmed: 120,000 Bitcoins from the Bitfinex hack are now beginning to enter exchanges. What will be the effect of ~$130,000,000 worth of Bitcoin being dumped into the market?
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/5vr8xg/confirmed_120000_bitcoins_from_the_bitfinex_hack/

Why on Earth would any self respecting exchange permit a publicly traceable BFX coin to be sold? I think the hacker's wee plan might grind to a halt fairly rapidly.

Indeed. If he's sending them back to exchanges then perhaps we can await his arrest pretty soon. And which exchange would knowingly accept tarnished coins and put themselves at risk of further NSA investigation? Whatever he does, a dump at exchanges is his least likely action.

So, more train and rocket gifs please.

I agree

Crash incoming?

First SHA1 collision: https://phys.org/news/2017-02-cwi-google-collision-industry-standard.html
People will be like "SHA1 is broken, Bitcoin uses SHA256, SHA is like SHA, so Bitcoin is BROKEN!!! SELLLL!1!"
207  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: OP_EQUAL issue? WTF? on: February 23, 2017, 03:11:37 PM
You should ask 1EohDhHJT9byKsYhxp5zX6PNkuGhxoEu9r, looks like the guy managed to make it right

FOX NEWS
SHA hash algorithm is broken: is Bitcoin doomed?

Par ailleurs l'adresse destinée à récompenser une collision SHA1 a du coup été vidée: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=293382.msg3142575#msg3142575
209  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: REWARD offered for hash collisions for SHA1, SHA256, RIPEMD160 and other on: February 23, 2017, 02:05:49 PM
A double spend with 3 confirms?? i never thought i would see the day. Is this not a Zero day and needs too be patched? should we be happy this collision happened??
Not a problem, the other ones are not confirmed

How the guy did it:
 - The first SHA1 collision ever has been found today: https://shattered.io/
 - He took the data from the header to the "collision blocks" (see image at bottom, 320 bytes)
 - With the data after these blocks (from JPEG data to PDF footer) being the same and the 2 hashes having the same value, we know the hashes of "header -> collision blocks" will be the same due to what SHA1 is

Congratulations to 1EohDhHJT9byKsYhxp5zX6PNkuGhxoEu9r, I completely forgot this challenge

By the way, it looks like 1aa5cmqmvQq8YQTEqcTmW7dfBNuFwgdCD is trying something: https://blockchain.info/fr/address/37k7toV1Nv4DfmQbmZ8KuZDQCYK9x5KpzP
This guy is known: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1572130.0 (amaclin: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=197593, Trust:   -512: -9 / +0 Warning: Trade with extreme caution!)
Obviously he ran a bot checking if the challenge is solved and trying to double-spend using the challenge answer before the real winner is confirmed

211  Other / Off-topic / Re: General poll on the ages of bitcointalk.org users on: February 22, 2017, 04:45:44 PM
Never think 18-25 would dominate this forum (or they're the ones who check this thread), however i think you should add more choice such as "Choose not to vote" and change 35+ to 60+ with adding more group range from 35-60

The results are surprising indeed.It's disappointing to see the number of members in the 18-25 age group is higher than everything else yet they behave like 10-15 year old.Either people are faking the poll or we really have grown up "kids" here.
Because OP asked bitcointalk.org user's actual/body age, not their mental age Tongue

I think given that most users are under 35, there's no need to segregate over 35s

Thank you to everyone who voted

How do I move the topic to the other area suggested

It has already been moved to the meta section

You could've put a couple higher age groups than just 35+.  Cry
No
35 is old

Let's go to $1300 and there won't be any debate over the last ATH anymore

Fuck it, why not $1500
