yawn pump dump rinse and repeat B)

Haha, don't be naive. This rise is because people are starting to find out about this coin and see all of the cool tech in action. I see it continuing the climb until it's at least 1000 sat and rising. It doesn't matter though, because once the Syscoin marketplace is in full swing and the rest of the features are announced by the dev team, people will want to use it for its intended purpose--a currency, not a tradable asset.

1000 sat?  Not going to happen for a while if it can, too many ICO holders that want out at this point.  They won't let it go over 140-160 sat trying to minimize losses when they dump and right back down to +/- 100 sat it goes.  This is going to go on because the ICO investors do not have confidence in the coin anymore because they got left out in the cold when the dev's focused on the BTC theft, confidence can be expensive.  At the end of their day in court they probably will not have recovered anything.  Better results would have been achieved with duct tape, queer town fire hydrant, and a thief in the hands of his victims rather than a court room that really doesn't care if SYS gets their BTC back, and A DA only seeking a conviction mark on his belt.

It may take some time, but it will get there.  Some ICO investors will dump, but I think this statement is not true:

Quote
This is going to go on because the ICO investors do not have confidence in the coin anymore

I would agree that some probably don't have confidence in the coin, and out of those that haven't already sold, there are a group that will sell.  On the other hand, there is also a group that does have confidence in the coin and likes what they are seeing with development.  Lately, I've seen more and more people comment positively on this thread that I haven't seen before, as well as more and more come into IRC to check Syscoin out. Call me mental, but I think that's a good sign of things to come.

Could not agree more with you sphericon. There are a significant amount of ICO folks that have lost confidence, yes, but I feel most have dumped by now and either bought back in or stayed away. Regardless, the ICO people that have held on this long, are in it for the long haul. It seems the weak hands are beginning to grip a bit tighter as the original glamour of syscoin comes to fruition Smiley
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ►►DARKGOLD◄◄ (X13), www.darkgold.co.in on: December 01, 2014, 09:11:05 PM
Looks cool, but I don't understand what the niche is here? What are your marketing plans/budgets?
First we want to make good distribution after launching.
DarkGold is not just distrbution/pump/dump coin.
Darkgold will be mined more than a month. Because of extended time of mining then other coins, and low block reward, Darkgold will give a chance everybody to earn coins.
Because of extended time of mining then other coins, Block time of 120sec and low block reward, Darkgold will worth way more then it is offered in ISO shares.
About bounties... Now bounties are in btc, but after launch, if ISO is not sold completely, then bounties will be in DGD.

I like the idea here. I feel that is a good approach to limit the continuous downward pressure on the market value that comes from miners. Also, if this was your M.O. behind limiting mining rewards, be weary of an ISO. An ISO/IPO/ICO (whatever you want to call it) creates alot of initial downwards pressure upon release. That in most cases, can't be overcome.

Our goal is to make DarkGold a currency that can be used to buy things, not just a coin that will be traded on exchanges.
We already has a DarkGold shop, more and more products will be added.
These days we will add a nice R9 280 card that can be bought with DGD. We will have limited number of AMD R9 280x cards that can be bought. Only 3 pieces for now.
Also we are in negotiation to add DarkGold as accepted currency to several game sites and shops.
We are also in negotiation to add DGD to exchange before launch, so i want to ask you what do you think? what is your opinion for that ? Is that smart move ? Or it is too early for that ?

In all honesty, sounds exactly like every other coin coming onto the market. No real niche.

Korecoin you got Korephone (encrypted VoIP services powered by a crypto) this is a niche
Syscoin has a built in marketplace (decentralized marketplace of physical goods) this is a niche
Darkcoin offers instant confirmations and truly a anonymized blockchain, this is a niche

A niche that alot of coin dev's disregard is a niche involving this altcoin be the exclusive payment method for a high demand service/product. Good example of this in Korephone for encrypted telephone conversation services, you have to buy/use korecoin to use the service. This same concept could be applied to any high demand service/product though.

Just my 2 satoshis off the top of my head Smiley

The good things just keep on coming Smiley Good work sphericon!

I put together a type of "beginners bundle" as far as trying to get a single download package together for new comers looking for the marketplace, or even existing sys users that aren't as advanced.

The bundle/package (w.e. you want to call it) can be found here:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/59500178/Syscoin%20Decetralized%20Marketplace%20Package.zip

There is an exe there, as well as two hidden folders. The code for the exe can be found here:
https://github.com/kamronk/SyscoinMarketplaceInstallHelper

Quote
WARNING: This is not for advanced syscoin users that are using the syscoin.conf file of their %appdata% directory for anything more technical than common use.

It will check to see if syscoin is installed, if so, will create a shortcut in the bundle named "Your syscoin wallet"

It will then ask you to let it open, and try again.

Upon successful run, it will rewrite the syscoin.conf file, and the contained settings.inc file to correspond with eachother. See the following links for the contents that will be written to the files.
syscoin.conf
http://hastebin.com/aleponusek.ini
settings.inc
http://hastebin.com/ibeligitoh.ini

It will also (upon success) then create a shortcut named "The Marketplace" and prompt the user to delete the exe file they ran.

I can update this for folks as needed and as updates are released from the dev team and sphericon.

Do you guys think this will be helpful? I keep trying to think from a brand new users point of view as riverboat has mentioned a few times.
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: November 29, 2014, 10:07:32 PM
Why not put the Syscoin Marketplace ranking system right on the Syscoin blockchain using data aliases?

Syscoin data aliases  have some unique and powerful features. Data on the blockchain is essentially “broadcast” to the entire network in one confirmation, with the “dataupdate” command in the console, and viewable by all using the “datainfo” command.

Yet control of the data is restricted to one syscoin address at a time.

This makes for some potentially elegant solutions to some thorny problems, such as this one - how to publicly rank merchants in the marketplace, but authenticate the data and prevent spam.

Let us say I purchase a widget from sphericon and want to submit a ranking of that transaction. I can update my ranking data alias (lets call it “my_reviews”) with the buyer’s and seller’s addressees, the transaction ID, and my ranking score for that transaction.  This is done right in the marketplace client. If a sufficient number of buyers did this after each purchase, the client would be able to query the blockchain to both authenticate the validity of the scores submitted, and display the score next to the seller in the client.

But in this model, who is to say (what is guarunteeing) that the listing saying "from sphericon" is actually coming from sphericon?

It doesn't matter who it comes from, all that matters is that the address that is the "seller" has a good reputation. That's the whole point of the decentralized marketplace, anonymity. You need to reshape how you think about selling goods.

If the address of a listing is available then that would make all the difference in legitimacy. Is that included for each listing when browsing the marketplace?

For feedback/trust rating there could be link in listing to ebay feedback or coinpayments.net feedback (buyer could verify that items match or contact seller independently to verify). This assumes seller doesn't mind being pseudonymous though. Photos and description fields need be working. Some items would need 2 or 3 pics. Also if some one buys two items is there option for shipping discount?

The feedback system could be based upon a syscoin address, so as long as that address is unknown, it would seem that the seller could still remain anonymous.

This is very true, is the address an available peice of info on the marketplace side?
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: November 29, 2014, 02:40:13 PM
Also guys (community). Another tool we need is a community driven rating system for the marketplace. Until this is built into the blockchain, i feel one of us not on the dev team could get it started.

If anyone has the know and time to do it, lets talk Smiley else Ill try to get something worked up. I imagine we could even use a google doc even to keep a trusted list of buyers/sellers.

@Dev, how would you recommend to go about this? We need to be able to confirm certain buyers/sellers actually are who they say they are (for one) and then us as a community could actually keep record of it all.

Hope im making sense here lol

Edit: Seems with the way it works, we just need to be able to confirm/rate sellers. Could simply recommend to send am encrypted message that would require a simple answer and wait for a response from the alleged known seller. Im imagining whats if a seller was pretending to be from the dev team? If dev team had their PGP public and responded to an encrypted message accurately, that'd work

An idea would be to gown the avenue of adding a rating system onto the profiles at Syscoin.org just much like the rating system, on here. Within the marketplace area on the forum people can post direct links to there listings and obviously you can see any feedback on that users profile.

How does one go about making a profile at syscoin.org?

But this is great news regardless Smiley
211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain on: November 27, 2014, 04:03:56 PM

Yes, @sphericon is THE MAN!! Smiley

I tested it semi-thoroughly, and I vote that he has earned it. With how loose ended the bounty was when it came together, I don't have much room to stand on to require anything, and the functionality he has built is already impressive and is usable. I confirm he deserves the bounty Smiley

With my confirmation though, I'd like it if a couple people from dev could do some semi-thorough testing as well.

There is (however) 200k SYS that @sphericon will have to answer to @JohnDorien about though.

Also, I'll be posting this to /r/Syscoin as well, but you can now buy syscoin at:
http://buysomesys.com/

The way buySomeSys will work, is I have a set amount that I'm willing to sell at a flat rate. Once it sells, I go bull on the order book (buy up all I can #tothaMoon) of the exchange of my choosing (will spread it out once I start getting a big enough amount of btc) and then will sell my accumulation of syscoin again at a flat rate. The selling price will reflect changes in the market as quickly as I can react to them, and if you're ever able to get arbitrage out of this, by all means do so when the opportunity presents itself Smiley

I know there are a number of more ideal ways to go about this, but with the recent progress of the marketplace, i felt it was necessary to get something out now. So, any/all ideas for buySomeSys please please please tell me as ill obviously be updating this. I made it after users in /r/darknetmarkets starting barking about "How can I easily buy some sys?". Well, now they have a way to buy sys at a fair price without having to go through an exchange.

Thanks! I do a little work on it every day trying to improve it. It would be nice to get the bounty though, as it did motivate me to finish it quickly!

I love your site! That's a great idea to get sys out there. Now we just need to advertise it. Will you be accepting USD/EUR or just BTC?

It is nice to have your site out there. As we build out more products and services that utilize SYS, the more chance that people will see it and become interested in it as we have.

Exactly, and I feel you have def earned it Smiley

Just BTC. Maybe someday I'll accept paypal, but not now.

Agreed, and with how easy it is to buy using buysomesys, I'm hoping the impulse will carry them through a sale Smiley

Any updates on the pulse check?...

Pulse check? Am I missing something? What's the pulse check?

Pulse check is in regards to the roadmap item - just referring to an internal checkin the team did last weekend on the progress of the V2 wallet. In regards to that we are a bit behind but have the foundation almost completed. During review we realized duplicity between the libraries we were bulding for Blockmarket Beta (the library being syscoin-api) and the ability to leverage the native RPC interface. After discussion we decided to refactor the Blockmarket's SyscoinService so that it can be reused in the V2 wallet (and a variety of other projects- it is open source like all of our work). All of our projects use AngularJS on the front end so that we have maximum reusability across components and utility libraries we develop.

In regards to Blockmarket Beta this weekend (30th) we have not officially updated the roadmap yet but it is likely that this date may slip a bit due to litigation priorities taking precedence this week. In the interest of keeping investors informed we have temporarily refocused our efforts on litigation as Ryan Kennedy/Moopay LTD has filed an application to which we must respond and attend.

Make no mistake that our future remains unchanged, we are pushing forward with the roadmap; if the litigation which is due before the weekend ends up pushing the delivery dates of Blockmarket Beta a bit then we will communicate that as soon as we're sure but we will still deliver Blockmarket Beta as the next thing coming from the team in short order, and then the V2/wwwallet after that!

We have pushed some fixes related to offers/marketplace to master (price issue) but we have not rebuilt the binaries (.app and .exe)- we will have new binaries that address issues identified with offers this weekend. Big thanks to @sphericon who is currently leading the pack in terms of the bounty set out by @kamronk and the community!! I encourage everyone to try out what @sphericon has made and if it looks solid we will award him the bounty after confirming with @kamronk  Wink and if there are bugs at the Syscoin-level, we'll fix em!

Whats new with the lawsuit ?

I've been MIA - there's a lawsuit ?  Involving who and what?

Alex Green/Ryan Kennedy/Moolah stole everyones bitcoins and altcoins at Mintpal including 750 BTCs of SYS dev teams that he was hlding in escrow. SYS are taking the fuker to court on the 28th Nov.  Hope he rots in hell!

Help us! Donate to our legal fund so that we can see this thing all the way through (this is directed at the community not just you Zee), we haven't gotten much love from the community yet with the help- lets not let this guy get away. Please donate to our legal fund 17DoGVyLwWQBwmCYUn14QXQowvoAKXqBpE (BTC). ALL donations will go to the legal battle.

I think we need some community pressure on LocalBitcoins to cooperate. They are trying to withhold data from the investigation even though we have a court order and an injunction- essentially helping facilitate this theft. Get at them on twitter/facebook/email and ask them to cooperate, and provide the details (specifically all deposit addresses) for the LemonadeDev account allegedly used by Ryan to liquidate thousands of bitcoin. Disclosing deposit addresses isn't like asking for banking info, or even personal info for that matter- but they won't cooperate.

What's the issue with everything in the marketplace being 11SYS? Is it similar to the issue where everything was 88SYS?

We pushed this fix to master already but we have not rebuilt the release binaries. Will try to do that this week but unfortunately some legal issues have come up that take precendence as we're not willing to let our 750btc "vanish". That can do a lot to grow this coin, and we're pursuing it aggresively. Help us out!  Roll Eyes

The marketplace UI lives!! Smiley

In your %APP DATA%/Roaming/Syscoin directory, make sure you have a file named syscoin.conf, if you don't, create one and put this text inside of it: http://hastebin.com/aleponusek.ini

In the directory that you unzipped the marketplace UI files to, there is a settings.inc file. Open this up in a text editor and make sure it matches this: http://hastebin.com/ibeligitoh.ini

Advanced users, you're right, you can play around with some of these var's as you please but they must correspond for the RPC of the wallet to work correctly.

For non advanced users, follow these tips and you should be golden  Cool
