201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Minter. The Internet of Money (TON & Libra will be integrated) on: October 27, 2019, 08:07:09 AM
The Minter network already has projects that have a demand for the product + in any case, you can delegate coins and receive new BIP coins. I like that despite the price - the project is developing, definitely the BIP will be high in price in the future!

I have also BIP tokens that I plan to delegate asap but right now I'm quite hesitant to do it since the withdraw period will last for 30 days - if ever I decided to continue delegating my BIP tokens, which I feel is long enough wait for me.

However, I admire how the team and the Minter Network handles its tokenomics that maybe one of these days,  I'll be persuaded to delegate my coins to the network in order to earn BIP tokens. Btw, do we have any updates yet with regards to the project?
202  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Napapanahon bang bumili ng altcoin? on: October 27, 2019, 06:43:07 AM

At saang exchanges maganda bumili?

Smiley
204  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best / Worst experience in crypto on: October 27, 2019, 04:06:16 AM
Worst Experience: Being victimized by a phishing site via email.

Best Experience: Having experienced the bull run of 2017 and saw my portfolio surged to its ATH which I have never imagined would happen to me as with everyone else who holds crypto at that time. Also, being in crypto is fun and exciting and everyday is a  learning experience for me - thanks to the bitcointalk.org community! Smiley
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The vast majority of trading volume was faked. on: October 27, 2019, 02:30:11 AM
Faking a trading volume has long been a scheme for exchanges since it is consistent with price manipulation and could influence a trader's perception over the overall "activity" of an exchange - making it more attractive!

This also could influence traders sentiment towards a particular cryptocurrency, in this case, with Bitcoin which in effect could lure traders or projects to list on that particular exchange. Finally, this scheme is tantamount to duping traders since it is also designed to generate more profit in behalf of the exchange itself and I feel the crypto-community should do an initiative to discourage it.
206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance could be Wash Trading Latest Statistics Show on: October 27, 2019, 12:10:12 AM
Unless otherwise Binance will allow an independent third party audit on its trading platform, its source codes and internal records, the public will never cease to allege that the exchange is indeed doing wash trading since its a common practice nowadays among exchanges.
If you are doing something illegal and claim that it is a common practice then they will be held accountable for the actions but Binance letting an independent party to audit without any government or court intervention is highly unlikely as they are registered in Malta.

Now I feel like the Government or any other entity that has the power to do it might intervene in behalf of the community.  Lips sealed
It is a Federal issue and if they are doing wash trading and if they are caught doing so they will be getting huge fines but the fact is they are registered in Malta and i do not think that any investigation will be conducted.

Being registered in Malta doesn't mean Binance will have immunity from lawsuits or any form of investigations. The U.S. Government, being in good terms with the Malta Government not to mention its existing extradition treaty can always exert pressure on Malta if the need warrants it.

Aside from that, Malta also cooperates with other nations including the U.S. on various treaties and agreements even with regards to combating  transnational crimes, so in essence, Binance or any other exchange for that matter should be and could be held liable and accountable if proven they did wash trade or did any other form of manipulation which is illegal! I think these are the very reasons why Binance had blocked U.S. customers from trading in  its platform!

Now the questions is, will the U.S. Government have the political will to pursue Binance if they can acquire strong evidences suggesting a wash trade or manipulation had occurred?
207  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I lost 1.4 bitcoin in a wallet so startign again on: October 26, 2019, 03:34:59 PM
ATTENTION

OP is most likely A SCAMMER
I almost believed his story until he said this:
Ive managed to turn £300 into £840 so far just through a bit of trading and also won a few hundred at a bitcoin casino I found on https://www.best-casino-sites.net/

Lately there have been newbie accounts pretending to be asking for help, but then they start to indirectly advertise their shady websites.
As is the case for OP, he is trying to advertise his brand new(probably scam) gambling website by claiming that he won some BTC from it.

Domain information

Seriously? That's totally BS.
4. Make a deposit and claim your casino bonus
a. Choose your preferred payment method
b. Make a deposit and trigger that bonus

I pity those who will fall for this. And honestly, his story is perfectly plotted.

Honestly, his story would have been more believable had that site link for casinos was not specifically stated in his post which would suggest that he is somehow advertising that site and which could altogether raise suspicions from the community.
BITCOIN! on: October 26, 2019, 03:10:22 PM

next year.

Quote
When the bitcoin price recovered a couple of hundred dollars per bitcoin in just a few minutes, some $150 million worth of short positions on the Seychelles-based BitMEX crypto exchange were liquidated, according to bitcoin and cryptocurrency analytics provider Skew.

This triggered what's known as a "short squeeze," where an asset rapidly increases in value due to short sellers trying to cover their positions, resulting in buying volume that drives the price up.

210  Economy / Economics / Re: I'll Contend: There's Absolutely Nothing Shady, Corrupt or Criminal About Tether on: October 26, 2019, 02:04:26 PM
Bitfinex is absolutely corrupt and Tether is a scam.

I would suggest to everyone to have a read of the most latest lawsuit (of several) against Ifinex and Tether: https://www.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nysd.524076/gov.uscourts.nysd.524076.1.0.pdf. If you want a quick skim, just read points 1 through 14, 80 through 91, and 116 through 136.

Essentially, Tether prints USDT out of thin air, sends it to themselves at Bitfinex, uses it to buy bitcoin, and then sells that bitcoin back to users for real dollars. Any time they need to redeem Tether, they can sell the bitcoin they bought for nothing by printing Tether out of thin air, and claim they had that money in reserve all along. That's without even touching on the fact they loaned themselves $850 million by giving fake USDT from Tether to Bitfinex to stop them from being insolvent.

I guess the crypto-community does not easily forget the alleged controversy that Bitfinex illegally and secretly used Tether's fund worth more or less $700 million to cover up its losses which technically defrauded its investors!

Sabi pa ng isang kilalang kasabihan "curiosity killed the cat". Grin

212  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Analysis: What Has Triggered 30% Surge? on: October 26, 2019, 09:39:50 AM
just another day
3 days ago price went down. now it goes up.

Mr miagi teach daniel son. "market is like painting fence.. up down up down up down up down"

And now its falling! But I hope it will settle down maybe at $8.5k level. This looks like market correction is on the way but who knows, speculators gonna speculate big time!.

Maybe we need another major stimulus like the announcement from Chinese President Xi Jinping himself - again please!;D
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on Hal Finney/Craig Wright being Satoshi? on: October 26, 2019, 07:54:28 AM
Give or take, I suppose Hal Finney may have the slightest possibility of being Satoshi Nakamoto himself until proven otherwise.

But on the case of CSW, there is zero possibility of him being Bitcoin's creator not until he can sign those early address(s) used by Satoshi Nakamoto himself. Smiley

216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: Dash Puzzle [0.35 DASH to Solver] on: October 25, 2019, 10:46:11 PM
Nope, I didn't have time than to take a glance and see a recursive solution.
If the 'leafs' are not in the right order (e.g. left to right), you will need to do another recursion - with different orders.

But if you don't solve it, I guess I will do it during the weekend when I'm off work.
OP or somebody else put another 0.35 and now the 'bounty' is 0.7 DASH. Worth an hour of my time Smiley

I'm just starting to learn Python as a hobby and love to do it in my spare time. Anyway I'll take it as an exercise but if you will do solve it, and if you may allow, I would love to see the code and maybe learn from it. Smiley

Probably fair is a system and also a guiding principle to a set of processes and algorithms designed and implemented by online game platforms to give mutual assurance to players about the game's integrity and centered on the spirit of fair play.
My 2nd post hoping for a chance to win.
My 3rd entry post. Btw, is there an update on how much total entry did we have already?
My 4th entry post. Hoping that luck will be on my side! Smiley Btw, do we have the total number of entries yet?
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: Dash Puzzle [0.35 DASH to Solver] on: October 25, 2019, 03:31:32 PM
I don't have time to finish it now, as I have a better-paid job to do.

Simple recursive Google search + https://stackoverflow.com/questions/4331092/finding-all-combinations-of-javascript-array-values

But be my guess and play with it Cheesy

Code:

// Rewrite console.log to save AND to file.
var fs_cons = require('fs');
var util_cons = require('util');
var log_file_cons = fs_cons.createWriteStream(__dirname + '/_DASH_Priv_Key.txt', {flags : 'w'});
var log_stdout_cons = process.stdout;

console.log = function(d = '') { //
  log_file_cons.write(util_cons.format(d) + '\r\n');
  log_stdout_cons.write(util_cons.format(d) + '\r\n');
};

// recursion
function* reccc_hash(head, ...tail) {
  let remainder = tail.length ? reccc_hash(...tail) : [[]];
  for (let r of remainder) for (let h of head) yield [h, ...r];
}

const s1  = ['L', 'k', '5', 'm', '9'];
const s2 = ['8', 'b', '8', 'a', 'm'];
const s3  = ['p', 'F', '1', 'E', 'W'];
const s4  = ['z', 'G', '0', '6', 'a'];
const s5  = ['u', 'X', '8', 'X', '4'];
const s6  = ['M', 'i', '9', '5', 'e'];
const s7  = ['M', '2', '4', 'p', 'q'];
const s8  = ['z', 'O', 'C', 'o', 'Z'];
const s9  = ['g', 'k', '2', 'C', '7'];

console.log(...reccc_hash(s1, s2, s3, s4, s5));

// Output needs to be properly formatted and then run as

// console.log(...cartesian(s6, s7, s8, s9));

// FInally concatenate 7qcSjq5t2ehUDzHWuN6nVWBspJ + 1st results + 2nd results >>> Import into a wallet

Great! Thanks for this idea which sounds logical but I guess I need to port this code and test it using Python which I'm now beginning to learn and could play and tinker this and see if it works! Even though I may not be the one to solve this first, I would gladly take this as a challenge to better hone myself.

Here are two tutorials on how to port it in Python:

https://www.programiz.com/python-programming/recursion

https://realpython.com/python-thinking-recursively/

Or just use the example and change parameters from numbers to string.

Great! Thank you for these resources and I really want to hone my coding skills and your example would be of great help to me. Btw, have you figured out already the answer to this puzzle?
219  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HOW to translate crypto info/news into decisons? on: October 25, 2019, 02:25:23 PM
Hey traders!
Anybody else experiencing abundance of information + not knowing how to translate info/news to decisions? Been trading for 6 months now and i don't feel comfortable at all...help appreciated!

Before you act on any kind of information about crypto, be it a news or an article, I suggest you verify the veracity of the information first since most of these type of press releases are directed to influence an opinion especially on a crypto project! Most of these news or info are either a FOMO or a FUD, that we have to do first a background research for verification.

I guess you can only translate info/news into a good decision if it has substance so the trick here is we don't just believe whatever info or news we've encountered unless it is verified for its accuracy and in that way, we could make useful decisions that will guide us in our crypto endeavors. Imho.
220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Has alt season started? on: October 25, 2019, 12:55:44 PM
Do you believe that it has started? I have a good feeling that I should buy them before winter. Prove me wrong.

I think the best indicator for an alt season is that we will see Bitcoin's dominance index go more or less at 30 percent at Coinmarketcap data just like what happened on the last bull run of 2017.

Unfortunately, Bitcoin's dominance to date as per Coinmarketcap's data is now hovering at 65 percent thus any altcoin season idea right now is simply unrealistic. Imho. Smiley
