161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bakkt will partner with Starbucks for Bitcoin on: November 03, 2019, 06:38:55 AM
I very much like starbucks and spend far too much money there, but I'm comfortable with using fiat and I know those dollars I have in my wallet aren't going to hit an all time high in 2020.

If I'm not mistaken, customers will be using converted fiat from crypto for purchases on the coffee chain  but it still is a very significant milestone in terms of adoption.

It's good to see mass adoption for Bitcoin but starbucks still not accpeting direct payment BTC. So BTC will convert to fiat first thru the app which might slow the process of transaction unlike if its a direct purchase using BTC wallet. But still a good sign for crypto progress

How it was adopt the bitcoin if they dont accept it? They introduce bitcoin by Starbucks but it was useless? How the people encourage to use it if it takes a lot of time before making payment?

Probably if it was happen they willing to buy money through online or cashless but not using bitcoin.

Technically the app or platform they will be using will not yet process on chain transactions for Bitcoin but will have the capability for BTC-fiat conversion to be utilized within Starbucks, so in essence, the originating asset is still Bitcoin but only converted to fiat, so Bitcon is not useless at all!
162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Masterclass / Guides / Learning on: November 03, 2019, 06:05:27 AM
Hello. I've purchased all of the masterclass materials from every site possible. I have a collection of a lot of free materials and most of the paid one. Including those that costs up to 1.500$. It's a lot of material to go through and it's definetly best for you.

If you would like the learning materials and can't afford buying for those high prices, i'll help you out.

E-MAIL : markpokerclass@gmail.com

Gambling is better learned with experience and all those materials you've acquired won't be necessary if you honed yourself with ample practice! I have played an actual  poker game and it teaches me a lot than having myself spending time with all those Poker guides which could be meaningless if you are doing it in real time doing and the wrong strategy!

Also, I knew some people who are self taught in Poker and values experience more than any other things that gaining it would be meaningful and satisfying especially if they learnt it for free even just by playing popular online poker games as offered by Zynga. Smiley
163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in High School Syllabus on: November 03, 2019, 05:42:38 AM
i am wondering who is going to teach these in schools though? do they have trained teachers in bitcoin field familiar with cryptography and blockchain that could teach them or do they plan on starting to train them?

I understand they will have to train the teachers first on blockchain technology courses and I think the syllabus they will be using will be patterned or similar to the blockchain technology and cryptography courses offered by online education entities such as Coursera or MIT OpenCourseWare or maybe they might get to partner with leading universities that also offer with similar online courses.
164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in High School Syllabus on: November 03, 2019, 01:45:26 AM
Bitcoin cryptocurrency education will be implemented to French High School Syllabus. It is a new way to introduce money to students.

This I think is the best and the most effective way to introduce blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies! If ever this will be replicated in worldwide academe, integrating it into their curriculum to replace outdated subjects, I think this students  will become more productive and could leapfrog mass adoption on cryptocurrencies and  should create  strong interest and enthusiasm among younger generations.
165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is BAT the DOGE killer? on: November 02, 2019, 11:56:21 PM
Doge is doge, started as fun from people to people it still lives with amazing community behind. There's no coin that can kill doge, and why would there be? Some people use doge for gambling, other for tipping, someone mine it, others just keep them for trading, from time to time doge price make a nice spike, like few days ago.
I trade with my amount of doges, and occasionally I play dices with doge coin, nothing special, but I like that little coin that lives trough the years.

DOGE is just a garbage shitcoin in my opinion. It doesn't have any usecase, any mission, the face of DOGE is an actual doggy.. so what would you expect from it. It is not a serious altcoin, but it benefited from FOMO and became popular because it was one of the first cryptocurrencies in the market.

BAT has a real use case and the Brave browser associated with it is a revolution in the browsing niche. There have been several studies made that prove that BRAVE is better than Chrome. What's really awesome about BAT is that it incentivises people to create quality content. I don't know if the elimination of ads is a good thing as good businesses need to take the word out in the world and ads are the best way to do so.

Its not garbage coin, at least doge is more decentralized then many other coins. Too big supply is what holding the price, but that's another story. I wouldn't call it garbage coin for sure, its fun and interesting project, read a bit about it and you will see.

Additionally, DOGE paved the way to introduce many people to become cryptoenthusiast being one of the early altcoins! I cannot say its garbage coin when it did survive the 2018 bear market being one of the longest running community coin. I think DOGE has served its purpose. Imho.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is BAT the DOGE killer? on: November 02, 2019, 02:59:18 PM

Basic attention token also allows to tip content creators. But it offers much more than Dogecoin (e.g. a new advertising system).

What do you guys think? Can DOGE and BAT coexist (e.g. due to different user groups) or will BAT make DOGE obsolete?

BAT and DOGE are somewhat different crypto since BAT was designed as a token to support BRAVE browser's digital advertising platform while DOGE was created as a meme coin in the spirit of crypto enthusiasm!

Also, both have distinct community of supporters and in this sense, I think they are not in direct competition to each other but rather could co-exist harmoniously within cryptosphere. Imho.

Dami ko tawa dito LMAO  Cheesy

As for the topic, Better siguro kung for our local board users lang yung theme like yung suggestion ni Bttzed03 na "Pinoy Bitcoiners"  Grin
Design should focus on Bitcoin (or the cryptocurrencies), Blockchain tech at Pilipinas; then, lagay nalang ng maliit na link for Bitcointalk.

Edit.

Smiley
168  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Leaked information. Are we really safe at all? on: November 02, 2019, 02:16:16 PM
I think the best thing to do is don't follow any email instructions with regards to this supposedly leakage especially if the sender is not their official email account because it could be a front to a phishing scheme.

I guess the best thing to do if you still have any assets still within that exchange is that you could log in directly to your account via a previously bookmarked BitMex site and check your assets and transfer them to private wallets and change your account credentials and activate any other security measures in your account such as 2FA in order to have a peace of mind . Imho. Smiley
169  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin demand in economically volatile countries surges on: November 02, 2019, 11:12:25 AM
This is no surprise at all since this scenario is all part of an ever growing Bitcoin and crypto adoption worldwide that is taking its natural course and I assume  we would expect an even more vibrant Bitcoin and crypto industry in the coming years to come. Smiley
170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Did China Dominate Bitcoin? on: November 02, 2019, 08:50:52 AM
The Bitcoin whitepaper was released in English, how did the Chinese get sointerested ahead of others that they dominate mining of bitcoin?

How come most of rocket science and nuclear technology textbooks are in English whilst China had managed to master these technologies despite of any language barrier?

I think the Chinese are very intelligent and keen as being rabid enthusiasts in Bitcoin that its no wonder  they had also managed to grab a strong foothold on this emerging technology. Imho.
171  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Kraken] Ways to reach support – cannot recover account with funds on: November 01, 2019, 12:06:14 AM
Thanks to everyone, will try those links.
With regards to the lawsuit – that's already in process, however we need all withdrawals to be blocked for now in order to not lose the money. But the support is inappropriately slow in that case.

For anyone concerned, I've also found a link that may help you in the future to escalate the ticket and probably get a reply:
www.kraken.com/escalate-your-ticket

Since Kraken is a U.S. based exchange, I think you can compel them to halt all transactions on that account pending court decision.  I hope their support may  be able to help you especially if you could provide convincing proofs to support your claim even there are issues involved but if this is not yet resolved within a reasonable time frame, you can pursue your case to the one who stole your account where you could present your evidences to prove the veracity of your claims.

danilyakovlev,

Thank you for escalating your support request. We'll make certain one of our Account Access Specialists will be with you as soon as possible.

Glad for your response to attend to your customer's issues. I hope the resolution of his case will be attained very soon. Smiley

Probably fair is a system and also a guiding principle to a set of processes and algorithms designed and implemented by online game platforms to give mutual assurance to players about the game's integrity and centered on the spirit of fair play.
My 2nd post hoping for a chance to win.
My 3rd entry post. Btw, is there an update on how much total entry did we have already?
My 4th entry post. Hoping that luck will be on my side! Smiley Btw, do we have the total number of entries yet?
My 5th entry post. Would be glad if OP could update the total number of entries as of the moment.
173  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Kraken] Ways to reach support – cannot recover account with funds on: October 31, 2019, 12:32:41 PM
Hello everyone, I will be glad to receive any info on the matter and appreciate you all.

Is there any ways to reach kraken except customer support desk? Their support was nice and quick, but now I get no replies from them for almost a week.

I had a severe issue that the access to the corporate account was stolen by the trusted person. Kraken freezed the account for a while, but now they claim that the issue is resolved and now I get no replies from them. Without any additional details – please tell what are my steps to recover access if anyone has encountered similar problem?

Our company has already provided docs for investigation, but I need the funds to stay in the account as much as possible before the solution is found.

If Kraken specialists are monitoring bitcointalk, then the issue number is #2554106.

I guess you have a consult a lawyer and state your case so that he/she could suggest to you the best options to recover your corporate funds  or
for the meantime, could workout some kind of court order to keep the funds as is or in status quo until it will be finally resolved given the fact that you've stated that the account in question was stolen by a trusted person or better yet, if you have compelling evidence that could merit an indictment, sue that person in court to recover that corporate account. Imho.
174  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Doing Research on Projects before joining Their Bounty Campaign on: October 31, 2019, 12:13:22 PM
For me, the team behind those projects is the best option of searching which is a legit one, followed by Whitepaper and Roadmap.

Having a legit team on a project doesn't always equate to be a good bounty find.  I have experienced this first hand when the bounty I've joined with drastically cut the rewards to the participants since the team have no integrity and  treat participants badly. Shame on them!
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Minter. The Internet of Money (TON & Libra will be integrated) on: October 31, 2019, 10:57:50 AM
I am very confused about choosing the Delegator for staking my coins, can anyone suggest one of the best validators which we are going to get many benefits by holding the coins. Through royalty whether they will pay in BIP or through Royalty coin?

A little higher, I threw off the list of all validators with bonuses and discounts at the moment. Personally, I chose Public Noda, Minter Capital, Monster Noda, Minternator and Consul Noda

I guess we don't have to worry about choosing any validators or nodes as long as its within the top 15 ranking of nodes! I understand it is sometimes confusing to select which is the very best validator but as long as we select the top nodes, then we all should be doing fine. Smiley
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Minter. The Internet of Money (TON & Libra will be integrated) on: October 30, 2019, 04:23:56 AM

I recently chose Minter One validator as the node to delegate my BIP tokens and excited to see how far this will go! I'm a little bit anxious on when can I receive my profits? It is on a daily or weekly basis?

You will get revards every minutes. You can see that here: https://minterscan.net/address/Mx2b25dd07c9267ba900f752ab4e103a11667cee6a in "revards" section.

And just few words about Validator.Center - actually commition - 3% but they pay 7% of revards in their custom coin - ROYALTY. They every day buy this coin for that so it's price goes up. (https://minter.interchain.zone/en/coin/ROYALTY)
If you will redelegate Royalty it may be more profitable then change it to bip.

I'm now quite impressed by this passive income made possible by Minter Network. Am sure would explore the coins you've mentioned and plan to hold some of it. Btw, any news about possible listing on major exchanges?
177  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [WARNING] Blockchain.com Clone - PHISING on: October 29, 2019, 10:13:15 PM
It seems these people who are into phishing modus operandi will stop at nothing, even if they have to clone all the crypto related sites just to get what they want! Smiley

Thankfully people nowadays are very well aware of this kinds of phishing emails because the crypto-community are helping each other give mass awareness about this kinds of evil and shameless acts. Great job OP. Smiley
they will never stop because their brains are only filled with greed and laziness. the movements of people like them must be minimized. some time ago a scammer was arrested by my country's police, the mode is the same that is spreading malware in fake e-mail messages.

phenomena like this must continue to be broadcast because the memory of humans is limited.

I was wondering why do they still continue these kinds of illicit acts? Actually these email sources maybe be traced to its source through digital forensics but I think nobody will come after them and let them be indicted.

There should be some kind of international police like the Interpol to tackle this job and enforce the teeth of the law. After all, cyberlaws are already in effect to most parts of the world and all we need is an international cooperation among Governments to enforce it.

Angry
179  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Warning] Fake Brave Bounty Program Giving 1,500 BAT Tokens to each participant! on: October 29, 2019, 12:04:46 PM

Just updated the OP with an image of the scammers follow up email with the same phishing link that was sent to another email address of mine. It seems these bad actors are getting more brazen and more persistent with their phishing activities. Angry
180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin needs institutional money coming in? on: October 29, 2019, 10:20:15 AM
I favor institutional money coming in to Bitcoin as this will greatly improve its liquidity! Additionally, the arrival of financial institutions into the Bitcoin bandwagon may have a positive influence on how most people perceived it especially in bolstering investor's confidence making it more mainstream and adoptable.
