541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [HELP] distribution of tokens on: May 17, 2019, 01:48:33 PM
All this suggestions by fellow community members holds true as a way to effectively distribute tokens and avoid sudden dumping but let me add additional insights into this matter since  I firmly believe that one of the greatest challenges for new project initiators is how to avoid the inevitable token dumping by hodlers but I think one way to minimize such occurrence is to create a quality value for the coin / token so that they may decide to hodl it for good! And the best way to give value to the token or coin is to continuously develop and improve it - the more reason for them to hold on to it. Imho. Smiley
542  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DEBIT CARD - ADA on: May 17, 2019, 01:17:03 PM
Can you name CHEAP exchanges where i can buy ADA using debit card?

There are a handful of exchanges that could possibly let you use debit cards for crypto purchases  but most often traders usually buy Bitcoin first and then buy ADA consequently with it - which is often more convenient than to find exchanges that directly accepts ADA thru debit cards. But don't lose hope, remember "Google is your friend". Smiley
543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Germany Plan To Establish European Blockchain Institute! Another Good News... on: May 16, 2019, 05:10:24 AM
Maybe these Governments are now beginning to realize the great advantages of embracing blockchain technology to empower their own Governmental processes and other related industries. If successfully implemented, I think other countries will follow the path that Germany has taken and its highly critical for them to achieve success in order to ignite mass adoption in the European continent. Imho
544  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: mining low difficulty coins on: May 16, 2019, 04:31:09 AM
I just ordered a cuple GPUs to get back into mining and wanted to do speculative altcoin mining, is there a resource that would list me new or current supported low difficulty altcoins? i tried with coinwarz but not having much luck..

i need

- coin that is currently minable
- coin that is listed on known exchanges
- coin that has very low difficulty

i dont care what its worth im willing to take a risk by mining lots of it

thanks for info

I suppose you could post the specs of your mining rig if possible so that other miners could help you in by suggesting more appropriate coins to mine based on the specifications of your rig? And as always, do your research first and don't rely very much on the suggestions of the community, after all its your investments that is involved and not theirs.
545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Care of security and don't store your coins on exchanges! on: May 15, 2019, 11:38:41 AM
This is no longer a new thing and I believe that everyone should know this by now. Exchanges are not really safe, and you should not keep your coins there except for coins that you are trading with. I have always thought that Binance is more safe than most other exchanges we have right now but I’m surprised that their site got hacked recently and they lost about 7000 Bitcoins.

The only exchange I’m sure that such has never happened to is Coinbase. But still that doesn’t mean anyone should trust them, it’s better to keep your coins in your wallet and have the private keys to yourself.

If I'm not wrong, there could be a high possibility that well known exchanges  such as Coinbase may have experienced some kind of intrusions before but most of them chose not to made it public since they are afraid of repercussions and other negative impact that might affect their business as a whole. So in principle, assets stored in exchanges are in a constant risks that needs to be addressed accordingly and everybody should be aware of that! Imho.
546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pick one. Cardano or EOS on: May 12, 2019, 01:42:25 AM
I cannot pick one on these two stated platforms since it seems to me that they are both equal and have their sets of amazing features and capable developers and both also has a thriving community. Instead, I have already chosen both of them to be part of my portfolio because I know both of these projects have great things to offer up ahead in the near future. Smiley
547  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Care of security and don't store your coins on exchanges! on: May 12, 2019, 01:31:59 AM
You're right. We must take care of the safety of our funds. Recent events with the Binance exchange have shown us that even the most reliable and secure exchanges can still be attacked by hackers. This once again showed us that no one should be trusted.

Yes! We must always bear in mind this famous law on computer science - Murphy's Law which states that "If something can go wrong, it will" as this simply explains that no system, be it a pc, software, OS, blockchain, exchanges, etc are 100 percent safe. There will be unfortunate events that would likely to happen sooner or later though we can't stop it, we can do something to minimize its possibility to happen or make necessary actions to mitigate any untoward incident that could occur.
548  Economy / Economics / Re: Regulation of Cryptocurrency Around the World on: May 11, 2019, 02:33:32 PM
Sooner or later, those countries that forbids cryptocurrencies will eventually adopt this revolution especially when most of the world's leading economies would adopt it fervently. Time will came that they will realize its great benefits will overshadow its perceived ill effects and these Governments will not be hesitant anymore in embracing it. Of course we might also think that these Governments disapproval of cryptocurrencies might be a result of hidden genda's mostly unknown to us.
549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best coins to invest before bullrun (if happen) on: May 11, 2019, 02:10:49 PM
I am more inclined to invest on projects that already has a working product like those that have blockchain based ecosystem especially if it supports smart contracts in the likes of Ethereum, EOS, TRON, Cardano, NEO and VEchain as this projects have more room for growth. Imho.

Note: This is not an investment advice. Invest in your own risk.
550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Care of security and don't store your coins on exchanges! on: May 11, 2019, 01:59:17 PM
Since trading in an inherent activity in cryptoverse, sooner or later we will transfer our digital assets to exchanges on which we have no control and one way to minimize risks is to be knowledgeable on the ways that intruders might stole our assets and identify tactics on how to prevent it. These are some of the most common practices most crypto hodlers do namely:

1. Trade on exchanges which prioritizes security and exercises different security mechanisms e.g. 2fa, email verification, ip whitelisting

2. Trade on exchanges which has an emergency insurance fund that can cover the damages from its clients once an attack occurs (e.g. Binance SAFU)

2. Don't store digital assets on exchanges for a longer period of time as OP has suggested

3. Avoid being a victim of phishing sites (check url integrity, bookmarking previous trusted sites, avoid phishing emails - suggesting any unwanted account access)

4. Be vigilant and suspicious always and don't be complacent about security. Always investigate any unusual activity.

5. Secure your computer system (installing antivirus, firewalls, use password manager, use of file encryption, hardware wallet)
551  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this the end of Newbie? on: May 11, 2019, 05:02:12 AM
There is so much too learn on this forum that if we could only find time to digest it more often, then we are arming ourselves with knowledge which maybe useful to us in the near future. I think its a privilege to be a member of this forum since not all had the chance to be part of this wonderfull community. Also, bounties might be good but we should prefer to be more competent by acquiring valuable knowledge in this forum.
552  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to choose Kucoin ??? on: May 10, 2019, 01:52:21 PM
There is totally no safe exchange and its only a matter of time before each and everyone of them will have their own security being compromised. I might say that the idea that Kucoin would be an alternative to Binance would be dangerous yet I have to admit that Kucoin has its own set of strengths but liquidity wise I have to go Binance since some exchanges that have been hacked had already faltered or having a hard time recovering and this is simply not the case for Binance. Imho.

Note: This is not an investment advice. DYOR is a must for every project we intend to invest.
553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hodling btc vs Hodling hashpower in 2019, thoughts needed. on: May 10, 2019, 01:29:25 PM
So I am looking to offload a bit of older gear.

I am holding some coins

I got some newer miners

I am holding some older gear.

And life goes on.

Yes! I do think that a combination of both would even be better also since we just have to find the right balance between these two strategies and making the best out of them would seem to be the perfect game plan!
554  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to start a hidden miner? on: May 10, 2019, 12:44:38 PM
Jesus! can everyone just shut up about this now.
The OP asked a question, and it has been answered. The OP did not ask for peoples legal or moral opinions on this subject.
There are lots of legitimate reasons why you wouldn't want a console showing on the desktop.
So can everyone stop making assumptions and stick to answering questions with based on your technical knowledge and not what the ten commandments say.

It maybe to early to conclude any hypothesis or  scenario but I hope the OP might appreciate any unsolicited advice he / she could get from the community that could possibly save him / her from any trouble. I think we as members of this community should have a little bit of social responsibility and should give importance to the welfare of others too. Imho. Smiley
555  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin now supported by Coinbase! on: May 10, 2019, 12:32:27 PM
It was long over due given the fact that doge coin is one of the most traded coins by volume.Coinbase is now more responsive to market demands as they are faced with more competitors

I agree! It was indeed long over due but nevertheless it was a strategic decision for Coinbase to list DOGE which could bring more good to both of them. Despite being late, we should commend Coinbase in recognizing DOGE to be listed in their exchange  as this one of the goals of most crypto's - to be listed in one of the reputable exchange in crypto verse.
556  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin now supported by Coinbase! on: May 09, 2019, 01:42:34 PM
Coinbase support for DOGE is a significant milestone for the DOGECoin community and it seems Coinbase did this strategic move by acknowledging the potential of this meme coin to further increase its ever growing number of supporters and its wide popularity and distribution cannot be denied which I think are one of the coins greatest achievements so far.
557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hodling btc vs Hodling hashpower in 2019, thoughts needed. on: May 09, 2019, 12:45:48 PM
If I were to be asked about that matter, I would choose to hodl BTC since it has a great potential to fully maximize your profits especially if we base that assumption on its historical volatility as compared to hodling your hashpower because  there is also a great chance that profitable coins to mine right now will not be profitable in the foreseeable future and you could end up hodling a depreciating asset such as your mining equipment. Imho.
558  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to start a hidden miner? on: May 09, 2019, 12:26:36 PM
If you are truly the owner of that company, I suggest you buy a mining rig which is often more profitable that cpu's. If not, I wouldn't advice anything like this activity since it could lead you to severe consequences like losing your job! Any unauthorized crypto mining will generate huge costs to your company's electric bill and in effect is a pilferage and that you could cause harm to your company which could  put you on a legal predicament that greatly overshadows the benefits of mining. Imho.
559  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any particular time to invest in crypto coins? on: May 09, 2019, 10:58:07 AM
I suppose now is that right time to invest in crypto but before doing that we should always have adequate research first on those projects and should do moderate investments initially. I guess right now is also the best time to accumulate those cryptos who still have ongoing developments and had survive even at the height of the bear market in 2018 so that we could say that these coins are resilient enough to tackle the effects of a bearish market which even makes them more attractive to invest with.
560  Economy / Economics / Re: Have you figured out what you are Investing in? on: May 09, 2019, 10:28:30 AM
Except Bitcoin, I reckon I could identify several niches in crypto industry like privacy coins, 4th generation blockchains, stable coins, exchange coins, etc,

and assess and select the best projects on each niche and invest on it. Smiley
This is a good strategy, while bitcoin is without a doubt the best coin in the market bitcoin cannot do everything, there are many good coins out there that can do something better than bitcoin so investing in them some of your money can be a great way to multiply it in a relatively short amount of time, however it is important to remember to not invest in projects that are just starting since it is quite easy for the developers of most coins to promise that their coin will be the best in the market and it is something completely different to actually achieve that.

Yes I reckon we should invest in projects that already has a working product or at least a mainnet blockchain for at least over a year because we could observe the level of development achieved by the team. In this way, we could further assess the capability of the team to further develop the product and add additional features as needed.
