201  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 05, 2013, 08:40:44 PM
I just realized something:

After a drop like this there's often another one about 20-30 minutes afterwards.

The time it takes to transfer BTC to an exchange?

Time it takes to get the cheeto dust off their fingers.
202  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 05, 2013, 08:28:26 PM
Amazes me how fast the price can plummet after how long it takes to climb.

Yea, there are a lot of people who have a disproportionate amount of coinage from the early days.  This is what makes each climb in price even that much more impressive.

Now we will get a few more mini-dumps from people who are slow on the panic button.  I imagine these people where elbow deep in a bag of cheetos when the saw the dump go down on bitcoinity. They tried to click "PANIC" on their computer, but the cheeto dust made their fat, stubby little fingers too greasy and their fingers kept sliding off.  By the time they were done sucking the orange toxin off their digits everyone else here had already laughed off the dump.

The only bummer of this whole thing is that it shows that at least some people still look to Gox for the price, regardless of which exchange they are on Sad

BUBBLEPOP!!! TOLD YA!

what's up with blockchain.info? or have we really not found a block in 90 mins?

It happens from time to time.
207  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 05, 2013, 06:19:24 PM
just real quick what are the advantages of stamp?
Still on gox  Shocked .

Better chance to actually get your money/btc out when you want.
208  Economy / Speculation / Re: Uncharted territory. What happens at $266? on: November 05, 2013, 06:12:22 PM
I think history will repeat and the actual resistance to the ATH will come before we actually get close to it, i.e. happening right now.

Once we break 260 or so we'll breeze right past 266 like it ain't not thing.
209  Economy / Speculation / Re: imagine incoming bubble on: November 05, 2013, 05:59:41 PM
litecoin had its time to shine, it died with the mtgox rumors

A truer thing has never been said.

I will also hold your coins.

Does everybody realize that public opinion is changing positive towards Bitcoin?

Public opinion is very fickle.
212  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 05, 2013, 03:28:54 PM
Price now matches Bitstamp.

Oh snap, I hadn't even noticed that!
213  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 05, 2013, 03:25:11 PM
1.4 k dump but with little success...

Beginning of the futile dump stage.  Also, noticing Gox seems to be struggling a bit.  This time is different as we have much more diversity in exchanges.  I will be interested to see what happens now compared to April/May
214  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 05, 2013, 03:16:06 PM
250 won't be much of a hurdle on Coinbase as it generally follows Gox.
Coinbase is already at $252.59

I meant bitstamp Sad Some how I always get the names mixed up when posting.

245 at Bitstamp. This can't be sustainable... Or? Can it?
Do you think the correction will come now at 245.50 or at 249.80?

We are in the actual correction right now. I think the you are asking when the futile dump attempt will come.
215  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 05, 2013, 03:10:13 PM
Hypothesis: If 250 is broken by Gox, Gox ATH will fall within a day or so after.  250 won't be much of a hurdle on Bitstamp as it generally follows Gox.
216  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 05, 2013, 01:51:22 PM
Two of those walls on Stamp just disappeared. Market order incoming? Or dump?

Odds are they'll pop up as walls again sooner than later Smiley
217  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did this forum turn uberbullish? on: November 05, 2013, 01:30:56 PM
If I were a Red Socks fan I wouldn't be posting on a Red Socks forum asking if everyone here seemed to be uberexcited about the Red Socks right now.

I'm just saying.
218  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-10-27 - This Week in Tech Podcast - Brief inaccurate mention of Bitcoin on: November 05, 2013, 01:29:26 PM
What's strange is he really SHOULD know better by now.  Leo did boohoo BTC for a long time, but during the last run up seemed to have gotten pretty interested in it and even started taking BTC donations.  Apparently he hasn't bothered to actually learn any more about it and continues to just make up stuff as he goes.

I stopped listening to TWiT when I realized it was really just "This week in smart phones apps that are cool today"
219  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 05, 2013, 05:47:58 AM
Does anyone else have the thing with bitcoinity where the arrows don't show the correct color?

I just saw a bunch of red arrows and thought, "Heh, nice try BEAR! The price didn't even go down. Better luck next time" Then I refresh and all the arrows were actually green. Durp.
220  Economy / Service Discussion / Bought CDs with Bitcoin from one of my favorite bands on: November 05, 2013, 05:39:34 AM
I'm not sure if General Discussion is the best place for this, but not doesn't quiet seem to fit anywhere else.

Got my first "bitcoin conversion" this week and wanted to share it with everyone.

The Megas do really awesome high quality covers of classic Mega Man songs. Their albums are in pretty heavy listening rotation on my morning drives to work. I was able to contact the band and they were interested in selling their stuff for BTC and I traded a few mBTC for some of the EPs I didn't already have.

BTC isn't integrated into the online store (yet), but if you message them through their contact page they are really responsive. If it's your sort of jam, check it out! http://www.themegas.com/contact/
