It looks like Al Gore just endorsed Bitcoin "I'm a big fan of BitCoin" "Regulation of money supply needs to be depoliticized.... especially as it applies to virtual currencies" Any link ? Agreed. Pics or it didn't happen.

All time highs on Bitstamp the past hour or so... trading $1.46 over Gox
I can't really recall a time that people who try and play the arbitrage game have done such a poor job $1.46 are only 2.5%, maybe it became unprofitable when you add up the fees You're probably right. I'm stuck in the old mindset where $1.50 difference for 1 coin was something to write home about

Maybe... I personally view it as an abuse of what bitcoin was built for. So for that i'm guilty....
However I was also successful as you now know that there is a company out there, most likely funded by Video Game makers that will be using Bitcoins for DRM. So does everyone else reading it.
I, along with probably most people here, would say it's impossible to "abuse" bitcoins in any way, shape, or form. If your goal is to grab eye-balls through sensational journalism then yea, you met your goal. Just be prepared for the forum rage

|

What specifically do you propose you can and are going to do about it? (Besides posting in a forum)
Man I'm a journalist, the only thing I do is tell the people what I hear. I think where you went wrong then is not so much telling people what you hear, but telling them and then trying to force an incorrect and hyperbolic conclusion onto them.

I meant profit taking strategy .... My exit strategy is not to exit bitcoin until the fundamentals change or I need a different asset.
Bitcoins are the profit silly. Plus, if LTC is used for anything except for buying BTC you're doing it wrong.

Wait, people play games from EA still?
But seriously, nothing you can do about it. Even if they, for some reason, use BTC itself it doesn't matter really. Bitcoin is bitcoin and can be used by anyone anywhere for whatever reason.
The best thing you can do is not play crappy games. There's tons of games out there that are much much better. Even if you find a way to "pirate" these games, you're only part of the problem as it encourages the bastards to make more crappy games.

How hard to be satisfied people are! Think about it, 2 days ago would you not all jump for joy if you had known the price will be $60? Now it's just business as usual. It is funny how that works out. It's almost instantaneous. The moment we broke $60 we all began to act as if that was the new mandatory minimum

First time I saw this happen, and I buy with them regularly. Seems they have an USD limit they are willing to process per day, and it has been hit today:
"Sorry, the maximum number of purchases on Coinbase has been reached at the moment. This is a 24 hour rolling limit with no specific start time. Please try again later. We'll continue raising this limit over time."
Yea, you really do have to check randomly throughout the day to find a time to buy them. I missed out yesterday though. Went to buy a bit and it started the process, but decided to go back and up the coinage a bit but as I did that they maxed out. Haven't been able to get through since.

I'm no good with the technical analysis stuff
Don't worry, no one is good at TA stuff because it's just a bunch of post hoc tea reading. Anyone who dumps will just see people take the opportunity to buy their cheap coins and spark a mini-rally.
|
|
|
I didn't wake up to a $10 dollar increase in price. Clearly, the market is crashing.
|
|
|
Does anyone have money left to buy in MtGox now ? lol..
8 million USD just sitting in bids as of right this moment, so yes.
|
|
|
Right now a small dump could knock us back a few dollars, which, coupled with the recent $10 rise, could cause panic selling.
Welcome to the last 4 months. What's happened is some bear gets the idea he'll dump and what happens is people snap up the opportunity to buy cheap coins and it sparks a mini-rally. Bears are literally in a no-win scenario.

Bid side getting a bit thin...
Bid sum's hovering around 8 mil... Not thin at all Well, if it stays at 8mil while the price of BTC goes up the respectability of that 8mil goes down. For an extreme example: If there were only 8mil in bids but 1BTC was a million dollars then all those bids would "only" by 8 BTC. Probably not the best way to explain it, but the best I'm willing to do

Your silver will be worth something...
when you sell it for BTC!
Ha-chachacha!

And the onslaught begins anew.
Just calmer this time please folks - I had to explain to my client that I wouldn't be charging him for today because I'd spent all day watching the Bitcoin charts! If I don't intend to sell my coin anytime soon I should really be putting days in to recover my fiat position - so please, just chill with this exuberant trading please? I also struggle with this problem.

It looks like the bidsum is reaching 8mil again while the asksum is climbing back up to 70k BTC. It was under these same conditions that we launched from this morning.

People get those religious feelings about money here, don't touch them at the wrong place. lol Always pretend to hold, or some Bitcoin Hitler will kick you.
Bitcoin Hitler won't need to kick you, as those who sell low will just be kicking themselves.
