201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: June 25, 2016, 08:29:14 AM
Sometimes big football clubs buy footballers who will sell a lot of shirts and other club accessories and this is how they will make back their initial investments for buying players. Rooney might not have been performing very well recently but he is the face of Manchester United so he is irreplaceable for now. Do you know how many little kids I have seen wearing the Wayne Rooney t-shirt? People need role models sometimes and the club management knows that perfectly. What if Vardy were to fail to score many goals in the next season? Do you think people will care about him so much again?
202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Are Just Too Stupid to Use Bitcoin Right Now on: June 25, 2016, 07:36:59 AM
"People are just too stupid to use bitcoin right now,” I overheard someone argue at a bar a few weeks ago as we were discussing the potential of cryptocurrency. “Society’s understanding of where money comes from is the real challenge.

This is the whole article I read at cointelegraph
They just dont understand how to use bitcoin cause they know it is very complicated that for them they cant use. They just dont know how bitcoin works and how do we earn
Yes, that's right. We need to promote Bitcoin, needed positive propaganda and possibly a massive debates and press conferences. People need to evolve in the technical field. But I fear that the older generation, the grandparents do not want this, they used to live in the old and new technology scares them.

But old people don't need to use Bitcoin or earn it because they have already a lot of fiat saved in their bank accounts and pension fund accounts. Also you are focusing our attention on Bitcoin being an online gig to earn some quick cash when in reality Bitcoin can be much more than that. If we could convince even the older generations that Bitcoin has its advantages over the fiat system the adoption battle will be half won already. However the Bitcoin market currently is mostly suited for speculators and younger computer geeks so that's that for now. People who use fiat don't need to use Bitcoin but people who use Bitcoin need to use fiat as well. If people would like to use Bitcoin and fiat the Bitcoin adoption will surge globally.
203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Euro 2016 on: June 24, 2016, 04:03:13 PM
Honestly I think Croatia will defeat Portugal tomorrow unless Ronaldo works some magic and scores some goals like he did vs Hungary which was a phenomenal game and will probably remain as the most exciting match during the entire Euro 2016 tournament. Croatia has very good midfield players who can change the course of a match at any time plus their attackers convert most goal opportunities and seeing the shaky defense of the Portugal team I pretty much expect a victory for the Croatian team in regulation time. Portugal has Nani, Ronaldo and Quaresma but will they be enough for Portugal to win vs a well rounded team like the Croatians? I very much doubt so.
204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase has partnered with Paypal - Officially! on: June 24, 2016, 02:35:26 PM
I guess Coinbase and PayPal have made an agreement to offer withdrawals to PayPal accounts only to American citizens at first right? Or people from other countries are eligible to use the Paypal withdrawal option too? I am asking because I don't have a Coinbase account but apparently Coinbase being a US-based exchange it would make sense to launch a pilot project only in the USA. I am wondering if people will need to include these funds received from Bitcoin in their annual tax reports because PayPal is closely monitored by the government no?
205  Economy / Speculation / Re: Brexit and Bitcoin on: June 24, 2016, 01:35:47 PM
Brexit is bad for the global economy. The pound will go down, due to less or no support from the EU, though it may climb it's way back up. Global politics is a fucking joke, if you ask me.

I'd say bitcoin will go up.

I was actually quite shocked by the voting results because I thought an Europe without borders was the main reason behind the creation of the European Union and this would have benefited all countries inside the zone economically and culturally and would have made travelling around the countries effortlessly but unfortunately the bad political decisions of the European countries recently really shook the integrity of the EU mainly the refugees problem and the terrorist attacks. I think the UK leaving the EU will be a major setback for everyone doing business in the EU on an international level. Sadly I think we will need now visas before we can enter the UK which is very inconvenient... I don't know if the Brits will start to buy Bitcoin now when the pound has been stable for so long but who knows we may see very interesting things happening this year.

Has anyone even considered that Croatia could top the group and leave Spain in the second place? I was quite amazed yesterday while watching the game and I have to admit the Croatian team really surprised me with their play and it's the first time I have seen the Spanish squad in distress put against the wall by an equally good opponent both in the offense and defense departments. I am looking forward to seeing what Croatia will do in the next game because they might very well be going to the final.
207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wright looking to patent Blockchain-related technologies on: June 22, 2016, 08:38:54 AM
Wow now that Craig Wright failed to pull his con story on all the Bitcoin community for being the real Satoshi Nakamoto he has joined the ranks of the patent trolls. I hope he doesn't try to patent the word 'Bitcoin' because we won't be able to use it any more in our daily conversations about Bitcoin and the crypto coin will be renamed to 'the-coin-that-shall-not-be-named'  Grin His aspirations for Bitcoin patents remind me of the fine brothers attempts to patent the usage of reactionary videos on YouTube, so hilarious to even think about it.
208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese bank crises grows - good for bitcoin on: June 22, 2016, 07:50:32 AM
What would then happen when the Chinese economy stabilizes? Will those who placed their money on bitcoin pull out their investments to buy back yuan and/or place their money back in their stock market? I hope that bitcoin price would not be affected by just one country.

The Chinese will most probably put their money on the most profitable asset on the global market and right now that is obviously Bitcoin but if unfortunately Bitcoin slows down or isn't any profitable any more it's very likely the same Chinese investors will pull out their investments from the Bitcoin market and will look for the next big thing. This is how the free market works and we should expect big fluctuations in the price of Bitcoin if something like that happens.
209  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 6-WINS IN ROW Challenge ON EURO2016 by Joca97 on: June 20, 2016, 03:11:09 PM
Hey Joca what do you think about betting over goals in the Slovakia - England game? Regarding the standings in the group right now every team has a chance to go forward to the next stage and I think we will have a pretty hectic match today with both teams playing on the offense because retaining the draw result might not be enough for keeping a top position for either England or Slovakia. If Russia somehow manages to win against Wales the table will be drastically reworked  Wink Is betting over 2 goals a good value for money considering the circumstances around the tonight's matches?
210  Other / Off-topic / Re: I spent all my saving on bitcoin, now i am broke on: June 20, 2016, 01:32:40 PM
you should put how much you can afford to lose without affecting your life at all.  Grin

My pocket money perhaps? Different folks have different monthly budgets so losing a couple hundred bucks into Bitcoin may not be such a big problem for some people while for others it could have been a disaster. But anyways spending all my savings on Bitcoin would be madness as my wellbeing will depend on luck and I don't want to end up poor just because I wanted to be rich in the first place  Grin Also I don't even fathom how some people are okay with withdrawing their pension fund to invest into Bitcoin  Huh I have seen these madmen on other websites as well.
211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you want to become Rich you need to Put Higher bets on: June 19, 2016, 10:26:41 AM
Well of course putting more money would give you bigger profits but it could also cause you to lose more and I don't think everyone can handle losing big amounts of cash as this leads to chasing losses and finally getting into debt and other psychological problems when you have lost everything. It's possible to earn more by betting more but personally I don't think this is the right way to earn money. Gambling is to have fun and have the occasional bet in on interesting events and it shouldn't be approached as a job for earning money. Of course there are professional bettors who do this for a living but they lead very stressful lives because their livelihood depends on luck.
212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: OFFICIAL EURO 2016 Information, Discussion and Tips Thread + 10 BTC FREE PROMO on: June 19, 2016, 09:21:05 AM
Have you seen Cristiano Ronaldo underperform in two consecutive matches when he is playing for Real Madrid? I haven't seen him play so poorly in Spain or in the Champions League but somehow he always fails with the Portugal national team. You might call this just bad luck or something but I think people are not happy with how he behaves while at the Portugal squad. Ronaldo is an exceptional footballer and has a great talent but sometimes his haughtiness takes the better of him I guess. I don't think Portugal deserves to progress further with this play of theirs.
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN THROW BACK [RETRO] Will History Repeat Itself? on: June 19, 2016, 09:07:36 AM
Well sadly the times when one could pick up coins for pennies are long gone but I think the important question now is if we are still considered early adopters or we are too late to the party now and can't get cheap Bitcoins any more. As the saying goes the early bird catches the worm and looks like the early adopters made a killing and it goes to show that scared money makes no money and brave investments should be made to secure considerable profits like that 2013 price spike. I think this will be a very decisive year for the Bitcoin community and we might reach a new all time high. Brace yourselves people  Cheesy
214  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin had a stable price, would it still be as popular? on: June 18, 2016, 10:55:08 AM
Do you think Bitcoin would be more popular if it had a stable price of $100? Surely the investors and speculators wouldn't be as interested as they are nowadays if ever and honestly I am not sure that average online shoppers would be either as there is no incentive to buy a digital currency when there are already alternatives to digital fiat like Paypal, Apple pay and Neteller and all that jazz. But if Bitcoin were more stable and widely accepted it would be used for daily shopping and paying utility bills and everything else people already do with their fiat. Also Bitcoin is great for sending remittances overseas due to the very low fees. I think the low fees are the biggest selling point of Bitcoin. But I guess if it had a stable value it wouldn't be as popular as it is today.
215  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why bitcoin price is getting high?? on: June 18, 2016, 09:50:51 AM
The price of Bitcoin is going up due to different reasons. Such reasons might be for example the general hype of the upcoming halving, the Chinese investors moving their wealth out of China due to the falling value of the yuan and exchanging a lot of money into Bitcoin, speculators selling their alt coin investments and buying back into Bitcoin in order to profit from the price hike that has been going on etc. I think there are a lot of factors that add up in increasing the price and it's not easy to narrow it down just to the upcoming halving. People need to hold onto their coins otherwise the market will get saturated and the price will start to plummet when they start selling.
216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Euro 2016 on: June 16, 2016, 11:31:54 PM
Oh man, I just lot a shitload of mBTC with my bets on Germany Cry
This morning England also ruined my Wales +1 bet in the last minute, this definitively was not my day.

Tomorrow I will go with Italy, I am somewhat confident that they will easily beat Sweden. Maybe I will take the risk with Czech Republic, I did not watch their games against Spain but it seems it was a close one. Any opinions?

Hey mate I think picking Czech Republic is a very risky play as Croatia has an amazing team and I have a hunch they are going to win tomorrow. I have watched Croatia play vs Turkey and the result could have been like 3-0 easily for them but the Turks got lucky to walk away with such a small loss. Croatia will go far in this tournament if they continue to play like that. I think it's a better option to play both teams to score if you favor the Czech because you will avoid choosing a winner in this tricky match. As for Italy vs Sweden, Italy surprised me against Belgium as I thought they were going to lose easily but it looks like they have a statement to make this time around and I guess they shouldn't lose vs Sweden. I would play Italy +0 just to be extra safe. Good luck with your picks  Wink
217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchangers - Fake Volumes- FRAUD on: June 16, 2016, 04:37:58 AM
The Chinese are known for dishonest business practices and manipulating the Bitcoin price on the exchanges wouldn't surprise me, but if they are making the price go up artificially isn't this in favor of the customers as well? The exchange operators will get higher fees from the 'real' transactions and the Bitcoin users will get more fiat for converting their Bitcoins. Do you think when Bitcoin gets legalized in China the government will still be lenient towards such fraudulent moves by the exchanges or they will try to rectify the issue and make their trading platforms more transparent? The thing is that even though they are tricking users into believing that their statistics are true, no one is getting scammed in the process because people are actually getting a higher price for their coins. I don't condone what the exchanges are doing, but it's not such a serious felony is it?
218  Economy / Economics / Re: Are the cloud mining sites to go scam? on: June 15, 2016, 03:49:25 PM
The cloud mining companies are renting out their hash power to customers and they have predetermined prices that will always make them a profit no matter what the price of Bitcoin will be like. I think they will just increase the pricing on their mining packages according to the current price of Bitcoin after the Halving and they will have factored in the halved block reward at that. And I think the cloud mining websites are double dipping by renting their hash power for a much more expensive price than if you would buy an ASIC and mine with it by yourself and by using their mining farms to mine for themselves on top of that. Also their advertised profits are just a rough estimation but in reality the rising difficulty and the highly volatile Bitcoin market might just make your investments unprofitable in the long run and even cause you to lose a portion of your initial investment. Be careful when investing on such websites and don't put in big sums of cash on there  Wink
219  Economy / Speculation / Re: Quick Survey: When will you Sell your Bitcoin? on: June 14, 2016, 05:19:39 AM
I voted for the $1100+ Bitcoin price. I have collected some cheap Bitcoins when the price was in the low $300 value and if the price reached above $1000 I would have gotten more than 300% in profit which would be absolutely fantastic and enough for me. I am kinda worried that waiting past $1100 -$1200 is quite risky because in the event of investors cashing out the price will drop fast and we will have missed a perfect moment to make some nice profit like people did in 2013.
220  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fucking Chinese! on: June 14, 2016, 04:45:35 AM
I actually am pretty happy that these "fucking Chinese" are pumping up the price. Afterall they are bringuing a lot of attention to bitcoin once again. This can only be good

Yeah but what if the current trend of Chinese investors buying up Bitcoin changed and they decided to sell their Bitcoin holdings? A steep Bitcoin price increase means the fall will be even more pronounced. I don't think the Chinese will pump the price forever and when they see a better investment option elsewhere they will pull their cash out of the Bitcoin market and the price bubble will burst easily. We always have to take in mind the dangers of the opposite position.
