201  Economy / Speculation / Re: [poll] Imagine the biggest dump of all time. on: October 10, 2013, 02:57:39 AM
We'd obviously go down real low, but we'd most likely instantly recover to $50+ I'm thinking... It doesn't take a genius to realise that's not much more than 5% of the current Bitcoins in circulation, and those being dumped shouldn't cause a drop to anything too severe.

i guess the poll isn't clear, of course we would bounce back above 50. ( i think we'd bounce back to 70-105 range no matter how many coins are dumped )

what's not so clear is how low would the bottom be ( even if we are their for a 1/10th of a second )

Well there's no where near enough buy orders to fill this. So if all coins were sold instantly they'd hit 0.00001 (Or whatever the lowest unit of price is on Gox/Stamp)? lol

Or teach him that you can't have a streak of reds in a number game.

They're not even streaks, it's just a few more losses than wins in a sample of bets he takes

Ok so I've been discussing this feature with one of our investor on our chat, I figure I'll post here to get others opinions.

In order to attract more players, I am planning on implementing this feature where I can give a new player 0.01 btc to play with, but they can only withdraw that initial 0.01 if they make 0.5btc in total wager. With 2% house edge, this means that statistically the player will most likely lose the 0.01 back to the bank before they hit 0.5BTC, however, they could always get really lucky.  Since the likely hood of the fund returning to the bankroll is high, we are thinking of funding this from the bankroll. This may be a good way to attract new players to try us out, and over time build up ROI for the investors since profit is a percentage of total wager.

That'll more than likely scare them off lol.

How does one receive a file of play history with seeds? I received a complaint today

I suspect they aren't saved, similar to Just-Dice. The query would just be too big considering you'd have to query over 100 million bets.

Just look up a previous bet ID?

I don't see how this could possibly be negative towards Bitcoin. I have a feeling it won't affect us much, but I'd be more than happy with a price hike Smiley.

Very well done on avoiding any losses. Most of that terminology goes over the top of my head, but it definitely sounds like you have some sound security. Hopefully this can be use to everyone else!
