201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: help me not to leave btc on: December 07, 2023, 11:18:29 PM
I say go for it my dude and actually explore your options beyond bitcoin. Bitcoin is king but that doesn't mean you can't make bank on other cryptocurrencies on the market. Explore your options, conduct researches to find out which crypto works best for you and which ones don't. I reckon you're still at the earliest stages of your crypto so you're a little wary about which to invest which is good and natural. But I suggest you pick up your pace if you want to get into the boat soon as the bull run arrives which might be closer than we'd expect. Anywho, no pressure, don't let this distract you from the fact that you're on the right track as a crypto investor. Keep at it and you're bound for greater things, trust me on that one bud.
202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking to sell a computer to raise money to invest in Bitcoin. on: December 07, 2023, 10:37:48 PM
I say you keep that first and foremost and not sell it for bitcoin. You’d have a lot more to work wih if you have a trusty pc to work with. If you keep at it you might even earn more than the bitcoin that you’ll have if you bought it with the money you’d sell your pc for.

I say you save it for now, find a good job to pay for your expenses, and learn a craft that would pay in crypto, website development being one of those things. Soon as you’re able to do that. Get certified, earn in crypto, and you’d be thanking everyone in this forum one day when you get your first crypto paycheck.
203  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID is dead, "long live the new COVID". World economy get ready? on: December 07, 2023, 10:16:16 PM
Is this the walking pneumonia they'd been talking about in the news lately? Kinda scary if you'd ask me. Although it's been known to be a less serious form of the disease pneumonia, the fact that it's still contagious and you could pass it to someone else with just as little as a droplet of saliva is what makes me scared about it. I say we let the scientists do the work first to figure out if this is any cause for major concern, but if it were, we might have to stay indoors and live our lives like a hermit once again.

For the meantime, stay less outside, make sure you wear facemasks, and for the love of god worry about the economy after you've made yourself safe.
204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not share your bitcoin holdings with everyone on: December 07, 2023, 09:23:07 PM
Let people know you can buy them, but don’t let them know how much. That’s been my motto for the past few years. Letting them in on how much you really earn and how much you have in the bank is more often than not a death sentenc, mqybe just not as extreme as this guy in particular we’re talking about right now.

It’s good that you’re at least making people aware that you’re affluent enough, and that you’re able to help or even give them what they want as long as you can put a price in it, but soon as they know how much you have, that’ when the problems arise. Most of them would latch on you like a lamprey, and some may even really go to such length thinking they’d get away with it easily. So be careful with who you disclose your networth with, not just with crypto.
205  Economy / Economics / Re: Life is cheaper with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general on: December 06, 2023, 10:46:19 PM
Fiat depreciates, the 1 milion dollars that you saved from years ago, if you haven't invested it into anything like stocks or bonds, would be significantly more devalued than if it were to be invested into gold or any other asset instead. Which is why you feel like it has "made your life expensive" or something. When you invest your money, you don't necessarily make more money that way, you're only saving, or in some cases, hoping that the value of your money increases over time, which is what bitcoin specifically does.

Which is why I'm very deliberate when it comes to telling my peers and relatives about where to invest when they start asking me about it. We all have our own cups of tea and sometimes, no matter how great bitcoin is for us, it may not work for others. I just say look into what makes you more comfortable, and stick to that investment plan.
206  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold is up to new ATH, silver is up, BITCOIN IS BACK BABY!!! on: December 06, 2023, 10:19:05 PM
I think I speak for everyone when I say we never saw this coming this early lol. I've even made predictions about the correction happening sooner than expected so might as well be wary with your investments, but at the same fucking time we get this massive news about bitcoin reaching 40k once again like dude, that's just amazing and surprising all at the same time lol. From here on out, we have no good idea as to what will happen to bitcoin anymore cause it's got no business being this unpredictable and yet it happens.

Anywho, just save up on bitcoins as much as possible I guess, don't worry too much about corrections or whatever the hell they're talking about nowadays cause that's clearly a little off the table now, and just be on the lookout for news and updates regarding bitcoin.
207  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you deal with the exponential appreciation of Bitcoin? (for the oldest on on: December 06, 2023, 09:28:18 PM
I think I see what you mean, but at the same time no one ever feels that way, at least with those who have been in the industry for quite some time now. And I'd tell you a little about why.

First off, we got this thing I like to call perceived value of items, and this depends on your social standing. Someone with a pretty low net worth would worry about spending over 10 dollars on an asset that they wouldn't be able to touch for the years to come, which is also why not a lot of average joes around here are able to invest in bitcoin. For people who have raked millions of dollars thanks to bitcoin, this is not going to be an issue for them. They made just enough to just fork out what to them feels like just 10 bucks to bitcoin, and they know that this money's bound to grow anyway, so in their heads they know that this is no expense.
208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Distinguishing Between Bitcoin Halving And Crypto Burn on: December 04, 2023, 01:09:49 PM
Really important distinction here. Cause some newbies are out there thinking that the halving is going to automatically make all their bitcoin holdings very valuable by dividing the whole supply in half, which in itself is already contradicting from the fact that the bitcoin supply is supposed to be immutable. I've been in the same boat of misinformation in my first year of stay in the crypto world too, and the only thing that I regret, is that no one's able to inform me or everyone who's not much aware of what the halving really entails.

Good job on you and I wish more people are this generous with information to newbies, don't get me wrong, we're all as generous as possible here but I feel like sometimes our efforts are invested elsewhere with all these topics and stuff, when important talks like these aren't given that much notice.
209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I will invest the money to buy the land in Bitcoin. on: December 04, 2023, 12:35:29 PM
Pretty good decision if I do say so myself. But before you finally push the button and get yourself BTCs with the money you have right now, ask yourself a few questions first:

1. How long am I willing to wait should a dry spell come around?
2. Is the money that I invested in bitcoin something that I'd be able to live without should the market crash?
3. Is there a particular amount that I'm shooting for?
4. Have I made proper research and studies about the bitcoin network, and have I made sure that this investment venture's the best for me?

Once these questions are taken care of, you can start investing in bitcoin. The thing is that these ensures that you don't run into personal turmoil as well other decision-making issues later down the line. Basically this sets you up to make sure that no matter what happens, your mind is made up with bitcoin and you're not gonna change it too easy.
210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance reaches deal to pay $4.3B settlement to American regulators on: December 03, 2023, 11:33:33 PM
Well we knew SBF was a criminal as soon as his claimed bankruptcy last November. But nobody would of expected CZ to actually be charged with all this.

His exchange was actually fairly honest and never scammed or defrauded individuals. This is why it was a shock to many and many are saying is was blackrock that claimed this needs to happen for the bitcoin etf to get approved. Binance just was way too big and they want the market share to separate.
Exactly. No form of ill-intent, not a sliver in sight for us to actually second-guess Binance's credibility, and as a matter of fact we're even given guarantees in the past courtesy of the bank runs that the public did to test whether Binance is really safe. CZ himself became a beacon of safety (albeit as a meme) years prior thanks to the funds are safu joke but what the hell. Months ago I was a devout advocate that he's never going to do anything wrong as I've done my business with binance for quite some time now without any problems, turns out he's just yet another person willing to game the system for his benefit, he just made sure to leave his enterprise out of his dirty work unlike SBF who actively leveraged his own business to make illegal profit.
211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin transaction time reduce in future? on: December 03, 2023, 11:01:46 PM
I doubt it. There's no real solution to scalability problems that bitcoin is facing nowadays other than the lightning network, which I must say isn't particularly effective either. So if this presses on we might have to expect bitcoin transactions taking longer wait times and higher fees as well to even process, making it less viable as a transaction tool, and more useful as something you'd use to save the value of your assets, like a store of value. So regardless if bitcoin does get expensive in the future, pretty sure there's still going to be usage for it, since we can't just drop something as valuable as bitcoin easily. Bitcoin may become expensive to manage and handle in the future, but that doesn't mean it's going to become impossible to handle.
212  Economy / Economics / Re: The power of investment choices on: December 03, 2023, 10:31:58 PM
Isn't that already part of your investment plan per se? Like you have to know how to pick the right investment/asset to invest in before you actually make an investment strategy otherwise, how would you even start with step 1? It doesn't make sense to me, or maybe I just don't see the bigger picture, you let me know. Anywho, of course, investors are always ahead of the curve in the financial landscape, they know what's going to boom and what's not lightyears away from it even reaching the mainstream (or so some people think), and even if we're not talking about being on top of trends and what's popping, it's just awesome to actually be in charge of your financial security, which is something that is readily available with investing.
213  Economy / Economics / Re: Goverments must have good plan very soon on: December 03, 2023, 10:08:12 PM
The thing is that, your dream of the whole planet having a universal basic income system, is completely idealistic and rather impossible given the prerequisites that you are in. You can't force an evil force to be good for the sake of being good. There has to be something in return for them to make it happen. And something as major as everyone just receiving enough money to get by without putting in any work's going to be a little too much for the government.

So yeah no, the governments wouldn't have a plan for this. They'd rather watch the planet turn to ashes rather than actually make something happen. If it doesn't make them coins, it's not going to be in their brains. Better do something and get your ass off to work then Smiley
214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you see individual satoshi becoming valuable? on: December 02, 2023, 11:56:15 PM
I have a hunch that in the future, when earning a triple decimal place bitcoin’s even harder than actually earning a bitcoin these days, Satoshis will be the saving grace of the people. For that matter, I see Satoshis as a great solution to bitcoin’s problem with scarcity no thanks to its immutable 21 million total supply. Sayoshis will also be great as a way for us to staunch the ongoing scalability problem by employing similar tactics (although correct me if this feels like a stretch to you.

In any case, satoshi’s going to be a pivotal utility token in the future for the bitcoin network. Today it wouldn’t be worth scat, tomorrow, it might go band for band with the US Dollar.
215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Paradox of Privacy and Decentralization: Banning Mixers on Bitcointalk.org on: December 02, 2023, 11:08:54 PM
I’m clearly divided in this situation, on one hand I know for a fact that banning mixers in the biggest crypto platforms on the planet’s going to be a major, if not audacious decision ok the moderator’s and staff’s part. But at the same time, I kinda understand the reason why.

Thing is, before mixers were a thing bitcoin is safe, secure, and while there are hackers here and there, it’s kind of manageable at a certain degree. When mixers entered the scene more prying eyes appeared out of nowhere, regulation became more pressing, and hackers/scammers found new and creative ways to get away with what we do.

Ultimately, despite these I don’t think condemning the methodology’s the way to successfully thwart threats, but since we got so little to work with, we might not really have a choice at this point, which is fucking sad.
216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Combination of the young age correlated with Bitcoin for the future on: December 02, 2023, 10:37:40 PM
I say divide his holdings in half, and then diversify his portfolio with the 2 bitcoins that he will have. Bitcoin is great and all but there’s not much orofit to make with it anymore at least compared to new kids on the block in the industry, and diversifying your portfolio like this minimizes the ridks of incurring impermanent losses in the future. So you’re getting a win-win situation out of this one.http://I suggest for him to not sell his bitcoins that eary as most bull runs drag on for months or even a whole year., so allow hineelf to maximize his potential profits actually.
217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can happen next time due to a lack of proper knowledge about Bitcoin? on: December 02, 2023, 10:13:59 PM
Mass exodus as what happened in 2018. People pulling out their ingestments never to return again after realizing that bitcoin’s not the “end all be all” money making machine that it was made to be. That or yet another price dump which bitcoin will slowly recover from but certainly something that it will suffer from for a good amount of time.

The good news is that there’s more information about bitcoin now more than ever, and of course, people are more informed and knowledgeable about bitcoin these days compared to uears prior. So at some levels you must lige under a rock or something for you to actually be this misinformed about bitcoin.
218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dollar Cost Averaging with costavg.com include exchange fee on: December 01, 2023, 11:42:11 PM
While sites like these are certainly helpful especially for newbies, I would still choose the conventional way at which you execute dollar-cost averaging. Why? Well, apart from the fact that you can't really trust sites like these with your money, another would be that it doesn't instill the same sense of discipline as actual brick and mortar dollar cost averaging, or maybe that's just boomer me. Regardless, if you've found a surefire way to execute your DCA, whether it's assisted or you duked it out yourself, the fact thereof that you're already thinking doing DCA is more than enough reason to actually applaud yourself of what you did. You're already doing more than what half the industry is able to do.
219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ransomware Cyber Pirates strike again and rakes in more crypto! on: December 01, 2023, 11:04:37 PM
Which is why I always advocate for using and always turning your antivirus on! You'd be surprised at how much trojan and malware attempts you get on a daily basis, so might as well make sure that your first line of defense is as robust as possible! I've been a victim of this in the past, and it's all because I failed to keep my pc safe. The ransomware stuff is getting highlighted nowadays because they do it against major players in the outside market, but this happens to every day users world-wide and as a matter of fact, the money they collectively get from all the hackings worldwide might even dim the amount of money they take from these short-form rendezvous and this never gets this highlighted in the news sucks.
220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a quick rich and get poorer investment. on: December 01, 2023, 09:58:51 PM
At some levels yeah, bitcoin is indeed a long-term commitment rather than a short-term affair that you use to make a quick buck. For the most part, you have to time your buys or your short sellings correctly, to make sure that you don't shoot yourself in the foot. But that doesn't mean that you can't make money in the cryptocurrency industry this way, matter of fact, a lot of people earn money from spot trading.

I get what you're trying to convey, and honestly speaking I stand by this hill as you guys are too. But forcibly putting your vision of how bitcoin should work upon others would seriously hurt bitcoin, and the industry as a whole. Imagine if everyone just held crypto and never sold, we'd all look like idiots here. Imagine if the market stood still and everyone just waited for someone to break the ice, isn't that a little too uneventful and depressing?
