2001  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and education on: February 26, 2023, 02:15:01 PM
Why do you think people are prioritizing education? Simply because many of us believes that education will give us a decent job that will generate money. But things are not limited on this method. You may earn money even if you won't oursue education BUT ofcourse education will help you til fill the gap between your capability and that one goal financially, and mentally.
OP you were talking about graduate students, not being able to find jobs. So do you think those graduates could be offered money earlier so they can give up their education? Of course, money is power. But are those rich people in power uneducated? Maybe some but most of those in power are educated. Education can enhance skills but it doesn't stop greedy and corrupt people.

I find it odd to choose between money and education. I will probably choose proper education. Even if I am not planning to become an employee in the long run, I still want to earn a degree in the field that I love most and then earn money thru it.
Problem is misconception. There are people who became rich even if they did not finish their studies. There are also graduate individuals having a hard time to find a job as mentioned but bottomline is; everything relvolves around you. If you won't make use of what you have, then therefore nothing will happen. Likewise with depending your fate to other's pathways.
2002  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 13 years ago Theymos sold 160btc at $0.003 per 1, lowest price ever recorded on: February 26, 2023, 01:47:59 PM
It is so amazing how time flies like a better fly. Everyone made this this kind of mistakes of selling low at a particular time. I don't think right now Theymos ever regretted his actions because is part of the remarkable things we have to keep to ourselves of making a mistakes that can make us smile at times.

In 100 years coming, I am sure that many people would look back and remember that Bitcoin once fell in price to $22k and they forgot to accumulate it. The price of Bitcoin keep increasing and falling everyday with a direction to the top. let's keep watching what the price of Bitcoin would be in few years now.
There's no need to; there is a huge difference on the situation before regarding this technology's potential, in comparison with what we have witnessed and the impression it is now having into us. Ofcourse we saw its ATH which will give us the idea such as "i regret not buying before" "i regret selling early" and such.Without being aware that you did not and did those things because of a reason at that particular time. There is never as assurance with this industry even up until this point then, it is normal for people to still doubt. It is easy to say things such as 'buy low sell high' but once you are in that position things are way different.
2003  Economy / Economics / Re: Is There a Lesson for Economies and Entrepreneurs to Learn from Bankruptcy? on: February 25, 2023, 11:46:52 PM
Sustainability and adaptability.
Business owners are not putting that much of attention to the overall sustainability of a business. Trends do shift from one to another and if you are really an emtrepreneur, you should be ready with every changes to happen at your field, this is where adaptation should take place. In most of the instances, bankruptcy simply represents decline with the demand on what you are offering or simply, it is no longer selling to your target market. Sustainability speaks in general; employee, service, rent, expenses and other factors which serves your business to continue running.
Bankruptcy started right after the second worst wave during the covid when whole world stood still and Governments were not understanding on what to do about it?

Imagine whole supply chain from multi-national routes, whether sea or air were stopped and billions of dollars worth transactions suddenly went to zero. This was definitely a seeding activity for the economic crash and start of inflation during that point.

Covid is a huge influence on the world of the economy which all turn off when infected with Covid everyone is isolated at home while the needs continue to increase. But maybe the company is unable to maintain it because the company's management is poor or uncontrollable outbody so that there is no income to the company. And there are many new breakthroughs and better innovations than other companies so that the bankrupt company intensively declined.
But as we have observed, many entrepeneurs became rich because of the pandemic. They managed to improvise and make use of the situation and that is simply what makes them an entrepreneur; using resources available and sell it to the population.
2004  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin [eventually] collapse? (scholar’s opinion) on: February 25, 2023, 11:31:27 PM
There will always be possibilities. Not being acknoledged as a currency to many countries could already be a factor; perhaps countries prohibit its usage. How come people would be able to make use of it? Also, FUDs. The market value is simply dependent with demand. Also, demand is affected by many factors which make it prone to such instances. This industry is not as established still as it is supposed to. One proof is volatile market value wherein as a currency to be used on payments, it is definitely a down end. But as an asset for sure it has its advantage over other currencies. We would only know once we get there. Right now chances are low but not zero. So be cautious still and avoid being too optimistic.
2005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are investors so sceptical about Altcoins? on: February 25, 2023, 11:05:07 PM
Altcoins have limited utilities unlike with the top coins of this industry such as Bitcoin and Ethereum which has a large chain and are being used with many projects and transactions making the market value sustainable through ups and downs in this industry. My idea is that; since the usage of altcoins are often limited to their sole project, the demand won't be sustainable for a continuous growth not unless it has a potential and bullish run occur. But through the usual growth of token's price, aktcoins tend to decline once the project is released because it is only hype which creates a demand and not the utility, in most instances. Making these tokens profitable to invest and hold for short terrm periods.
2006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What was he doing with 0.48 cents? on: February 25, 2023, 10:50:56 PM
He's just wrong from doing so at the present simply because the market price is way higher than before. But think of the situation on that exact year when he sold it; he won't be wrong. Many people are quite laughing or shocked of what he did. Same thing goes with the man who traded his bitcoin holdings for pizza. Idea is; no one would expect the market price would be as high as with the present or previous ATH especially if we would be talking about years of progress. Same thing goes with investing at this point to a new project token. If it won't show progress, would you be still holding it for a decade or more? Some probably would, but that is due to the idea that we've seen its possibility to be profitable from the tokens before. But if not, for sure you'd hesitate.
2007  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you have any financial regrets ? on: February 25, 2023, 10:21:27 PM
We do had regrets from the pastm In terms of financial aspect, my regrets are related to investments. Also, in relation to this industry I regret not putting my funds on BTC or ETH until the last ATH, I sold early because I thought price won't increase for more. Also, the moment I sold, price continued to uprise and I doubted that; I've missed the opportunity to earn double of what I have earned. At the end of the day, I needed to affix myself that I still earned a decent amount.
Mistakes are one of the natural traits possessed by humans, we can't help but make mistakes, what we can do may be to minimize so that the mistakes we make are not fatal. Regret will also be natural, but it will not be a solution if we continue to regret, I mean we turn that regret into a valuable lesson, as you said to keep us from repeating the same mistakes. do not lament too much the mistakes we have done, because it will also have an impact that is not good for us.
Everyone has made mistakes financially in one way or the other, but is better to learn from those mistakes rather than regrets, like it is said experience is the best teacher, so is better to draw straight from those mistakes made, nobody is perfect and nobody can  say he or she hasn't made mistake financially, is just a matter of how to react to that mistake, either to allow it affect us positively or negatively.
Regrets won't change what happened but atleast it would prepare you to be better in the future once you encounter an alike situation. But problem is, it is not as easy as it sounds. Likewise with the sudden increase with the msrket prices. Simply proves that this industry is way unpredictable but what matters indeed is how will you react as an experienced investor.
2008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I gave investment advice to my grandfather. on: February 24, 2023, 11:55:26 PM
Would he be able to track the market price? Does he has the long term or short term vision? Given that there's this generation gap, and since you are the one to introduce it to him, maybe you should as well guide him withthe technicalities of tis industry. But that is a good thing to not advice investing all of his wealth. Risk is present so that's just right to emphasize as well the chances of losing profit. If he's not new in the world of investment, for sure he'd have a good grasp of it but if not, be his guide. You have the right intentions indeed but know that you'd be more accountable on his decision. Questions will be asked by him for sure if not on a daily basis, periodically, so be sure to clear it always.
2009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 24, 2023, 11:40:51 PM
You guys are measuring the wrong way. Yes they might be both coming from a RECENT loss but lets look at both of their track records over years. Obviously Figueroa might have been on a bad luck streak just like Magsayo, but Magsayo's history is less flawed by a 1 fight (draw). So how does one even compare the two histories? Its hard to tell but Figueroa has been showing more weakness in the recent past, so my money is on Magsayo.

Just because he recently had some bad luck in his fight against Vargas and has finally gotten 1 loss does not make this an eventuality which will happen again. 24 wins 1 loss. Cmon.

But looking at the statistics, even though Figueroa has one draw, his knockout record is more impressive than Magsayo.  Besides, Figueroa is taller and has a reach advantage, if Figueroa mimic the strategy of Vargas, I believe Magsayo will have a huge problem in this fight.

I definitely agree! All boxers have their own failure in this industry and the good thing about them is that they aren't measured by the loss they had but with what they did after the loss they experienced. Both Figueroa and Magsayo came from an unfortunate situation, both boxers didn't want that for sure but they needed it because by that, they will be molded as a much better boxer. But since we are here speculating and putting some bets, my money also goes for Magsayo even if he will be listed as favorite, it will still be Magsayo.

When it comes to betting, I will also go with Magsayo not because I think he is a better boxer but because he is a fellow countryman, and I do that to show my support

That is if Figueroa can mimic the strategy of Vargas and give a hard time to Magsayo but we all know that Figueroa is more like an open book because he's been showing a lot of weaknesses lately than the latter. He might have a good KO ratio but when it comes to ring IQ, I will still side with Magsayo. While for my betting opinion and option, Magsayo is also a fellow countryman but I will bet on him not just because of that fact alone but because I do believe on his talent and that he will beat Figueroa.

Both have different styles and so I doubt that Brandon will mimic the style of Rey Vargas just to win. He has his own way or strategizing in this fight and fight Magsayo the way he knows it.

But for sure it will be his volume punching again, nothing will change a lot here, that's already what we call bread and butter, and that style has been working for him for many years except against Fulton who took all his best shots and received some as well.
Well, in every fight, a fighter could up their game depending on their drive which is more likely from their previous fights. But if we would base on stats, this could be a toe-to-tose or a close match even if they have different fighting styles. The heartbreaker is a heavy puncher and is more agressive but Magnifico has the speed over Figuerroa. This would be interesting for sure because they are fighting for a vacant belt. Both are eager for the spotlight given that their previous fights didn't turn out to be as what they have expected. Hard to guess to be honest but for this fight I guess edge is on The heartbreaker. Outcome probably is by unanimous decision.
2010  Economy / Gambling / Re: Recommend your preffered slot games or game provider on: February 24, 2023, 11:27:40 PM
Play N' Go is the usual provider I look at whenever I want to play slots. Most of what I find are usually restricted by region, but the recent ones that I played a few months back, Reactoonz and Tome of Madness were at least accessible to me (I live in PH). I'd probably end up liking and playing more slot games really only if they didn't restrict access based on region, it just severely limits the number of types of slots I can actually play, some of which looked genuinely interesting to me.
Vouching as well for Tome of Madness. I do sometimes play slots to kill time especially if I have no interested matches in sports betting;which is where I am usually betting. In TOM, the experience is decent and I had no problems with withdrawals and deposit. The display is okay but the only downside, just my cents, is that I cannot access their gambling site freely using smartphone. So I have to play through my laptop. I just saw it on foreign streamers and again, it was a decent experience for someone like me who is not so into pure luck games. But I saw other suggestions in this topic so probably I would be checking those out as well.
2011  Economy / Gambling / Re: NAKAMOTO ROULETTE launched today on: February 24, 2023, 11:05:18 PM
Nahh, definitely there's a better way to introduce a gambling platfrom that to just create a plain thread having the link of it. Also, I tried opening the link to check bonuses but nothing simply appers in accordance to my intent, it was still the girl dancing in front of the roulette. Well, ofcourse I am expecting to read the bonuses simply because most if not all gambling sites do offer roulette, so how would this gambling site have their edge to persuade players to play on it? One of the best option is to set fair promotions and bonuses. Also, the site itself I guess ( if it wasn't only me), is quite laggy and freezes if you would stand by on it, which is also a room for improvement. Again, would be better to introduce it in a more interesting way to avoid players to think of it as one of the fraud platforms.
2012  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Game that you suffer consistent losses but still keep playing? on: February 24, 2023, 10:55:57 PM
Game that I suffered huge losses? Dice game, definitely but I just stopped playing on it and focused more in sportsbetting since I am enjoying it more and also, I am able to somewhat minimize the risk of losing through analysis of the teams/players to bet on, in this gambling category. I am in contrast with the topic itself, why would you be still playing on a game wherein you consistently losing? The word is consistent. If you are losing sometimes but you are enjoying the game itself then that would be tolerable. Otherwise you will just stress yourself out even if there are other gambling games you may choose from to atleast, lessen your struggles.
2013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you keep your gambling habit under control? on: February 24, 2023, 10:33:39 PM
Been answered many times and still I'd suggest preventing it at first before it got worse. If you would be setting limitations with the amount you can afford losing, given that winning won't be certain most of the time, then you would be safe from addiction simply because you would be able to endure losing perhaps $100 bucks for that day. You won't be frustrated as well to get back with your losses since the amount you have lost is tolerable. Unlike with players who are playing with their intentions to push through, everytime they are losing, they would bet more until they have nothing to bet;frustration, regrets qnd other negative emotions are more likely to be felt which could definitely affect a player next time he would play. And this is where addiction manifest.
2014  Economy / Economics / Re: How to spend money determines whether you can avoid unnecessary problems on: February 23, 2023, 11:59:15 PM
Problems simply arise because of your decisions especially in terms of one's financial status. If you are a minimum  wage earner and you are spending more than you can suffice, it won't be surprising to know that you would be in debt eventually. Orevention is indeed better than cure. If you would be prioritizing savings and investments at the early age, your sources of income would multiply which would help you to sustain your lifestyle and expenses, even unwanted situations. The root cause of evil is money; I disagree. But most of the problems revolve around monetary aspects. Think of the situation like a bucket of water and bottles as problem; if your bucket is full you can fill more bottles with it. The way you spend, earn, and utilize money would ofcourse reflect to the life you are currently living.
2015  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does inflation affects bitcoin? on: February 23, 2023, 11:46:45 PM
Indirectly, yes. Inflation would be felt across countries which would affect how an individual will mke use of his or her funds. If an average employee would suffer from the increase with the daily expenses to live, then how come would he still be able to engage with investments? Therefore demand would be low perhaps in this industry as an example of investment. Why would it be that bad? Most of the people across the globe especially on third world countries are minimum wage earners which makes them the first ones to be affected by any economic problem. This is how I view the situation as having an indirect effect in this industry. Lower demand simply means lower market value.
2016  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 23, 2023, 11:26:32 PM
Yep, that's how he evolved after his very first close against Nonito, he has evolved even more after that. He learn how to phase and then read his opponent and even have the mentality to survived a fight eve if he has that injury already.

And we all know after that fight, he beat Donaire by knockout and same with Butler.

So he is still getting stronger and smarter in any fight and keeps on progressing. So for sure he will know a thing or two against Fulton because he is a great fighter. Inoue has that ability to absorb every strengths of his opponents.
Inoue is on his prime and that makes him an incredibly dangerous fighter, not only he has the intelligence and skill to adjust his fighting style, he still has the physical capabilities to absorb a massive amount of damage and do whatever he wants on the ring, so it is not surprising that despite being the challenger the many different boxing fans around the world think of him as the favorite on his fight against Fulton.
And just like what everyone is saying, he managed to differ his fighting style after his fight with Nonito. Definitely a good characteristic for a boxer to have but this won't men an edge to others with a consistent fighting form such as with Ryan Garcia who instill that classic style of him to all of his fights, but that is a different story. In this fight, it is quite obvious that Inoue is having his edge over Fulton. But as we all know, things may still happen inside the square and for sure both boxers are aware of it which pushes them to be more ready before the bell rings.
Yes, but we haven't seen his chin tested early though, it was just Donaire who really broke the barriers literally when he fought Inoue the first time. He broke his orbital bone on that fight, but still Inoue tapping on his mentality to even become stronger in the later rounds even if he has suffered that.

Yup, that was one hell of a punch that Inoue took and yet he survived that one. If only it was not Inoue on the receiver's end of that hook, that fight is over. I agree that Inoue got a granite chin that he couldn't be knockout with a single punch, should be volume if you wanna knock out this monster which is a very tough hill to climb because opponents have to take some punches also before they can hit him hehe.

The only question I have here is if Inoue is capable of bringing his power to the heavier division, this is an acid test for him, and his lucky because passing this test also means winning a title at 122lbs, his first one.

Would be an obvious adjustment to make; weight class is a core category in boxing and other fighting sports. We've seen it with many boxers who either moved up or down on weight class but most of them struggled at first simply because of weight management and heavier punches to be taken perhaps on higher weight class.
2017  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casinos and Tech Devices on: February 23, 2023, 11:04:31 PM
Would it really matter? On a daily gambling routine, a player would choose what's more convenient. Perhaps a gambling site requires HTML5 but the player prefers to play with ease through smart phone. Basically he'd just move to platforms which would be suitable for his gambling habits. This should be likewise with fiat based gambling platforms the only difference is the mode of payment in this industry. We are all different as gamblers; some do prefer just clicking and go;eitherway is just okay. What should matter more is managing the risks in gambling than to put that much of attention to the device. I'm aware that the relationship between device and platform would yield to security of funds as well. But that's how preference just works.
2018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is easier to make bets on? on: February 23, 2023, 10:31:12 PM
Do sport like football betting and MMA betting carries the same risks or one is more profitable to bet on than the other? Which one is more likely to easily predict than the other? Also, I need a platform where football prediction is certain, is there any of you guys using any reliable platform?
For me yes, especially if this is a comparison between sportsbetting and traditional gambling games. Well, in both categories, luck would serve its role but atleast, in sports betting a bettor could analyze the teams to bet on; their stats, players, previous matches and the likes which could help to lessen the risk of having losing bet. Unlike with traditional gambling games wherein players could only rely on luck such as with slots, dice games and the likes. Card games on the other hand relies on luck obviously and strategies such as bluffing and the likes. Still, I think sportsbetting is a lot easier and also more entertaining to do so especially if you are a bettor who's really into sports.
2019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: it will definetly save you on: February 23, 2023, 10:07:50 PM
It is one's mindset which eith put him/herself to danger, likewise in gambling. If you are gambling to get rich then for sure you are prone to addiction and that also means, losses. Winning is never certain in this industry. The problem id; many of us were fascinated by the idea that there are really people who managed to win the jackpot but unfortunately, it happens by chance. Much better to play it safely and with restrictions to atleast enjoy playing. Also it would be much better to do so to prevent things on getting worse. Gambling is truely addictive simply because it involves money. This is an enough and obvious reason to atleast be cautious of your gambling habits. If you'd win then that's good, but if you won't, try to ease down and never push through.
2020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Discussing the upcoming market on: February 22, 2023, 10:58:49 PM
Maybe its quite a lot of potential news that could affect the market.

From major coins of btc, matic, tron, eth, cardano, dogecoin and many more. Also not included are the hypes of new projects which are now relatable to AI due to its chaptgpt trend. I believe you could find more upcoming potential events on icodrops, coindesk and famous platform featuring news.

Also dont forget the bitcoin halving which is roughly less than 2yrs and counting I think.
Definitely the pros of factors affecting the demand. There are many factors which could positively influence a demand but unfortunately, factors as well to pull it down. Simple events, as long as it could affect investor's interest towards this industry, would surely trigger market changes either long run or short price movements. Right now, news regarding adoption and such are the ones we can rely for sudden market price increase aside from the anticipated halving next year. Investing right now, given that there are events that could yield to a positive market behavior, could be an advantage. But since the market itself is full of uncertainties, managing the risks of doing so would be always better.
