2021  Economy / Services / Re: 0.4 BTC / month free (Best payouts - NO POSTING NEEDED & Updated :) on: July 28, 2013, 10:57:24 AM
No problem with that but there's the extra payments which is more to track.

To keep it simple can my payout cycle be the 1st of each month and on the 1st of September you credit my account 0.0452, the extra 0.0052 being 4 days of July?

Sorry but that actually makes it more difficult to track
2025  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: July 28, 2013, 06:52:00 AM
This certainly helps building up hype.
2026  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: coinchat sucks on: July 28, 2013, 06:25:01 AM
If you spam and don't obey the CC rules of course you'll get banned.

Of course I accept that but here's the rub.  I NEVER SPAMMED there, I was banned for something that i may or may not do in the future...
If there is a very high likehold of you spamming in the future you will be banned. I suggest registering for the account supa9 here and see how long it takes for you to be banned (even if you never did anything wrong).

The only thing i ever did wrong was be friends with yna and pirate. i hate spam so i would never do it to anyone else and i don't even know what trolling is!! (quiet pirate i know imma get an explanation after you read this) and when i asked what i did i was just muted with no answer
if i did something wrong id admit it but i don't see an issue with havin friends you don't like that doesnt mean i do what they do but hey im in better places that actually chat because from what i hear CC has basically died since the genocide of cool people
LOL.

I suggest reading my previous responses on the subject.

2028  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitArena | Online Bitcoin Arena | Season 1 Contest 1 BTC prize pool! on: July 28, 2013, 01:43:14 AM
It's only part of the seed. But I agree. TF fix this. NAO
This is the same method used by Just-Dice, SatoshiDICE, etc.

Hrm. It's strange, I'd expected it to just use random.org or something, this is so nasty because your name would matter. It's still random, but you know that if you lose a different name could've been a win.

random.org isn't provably fair.

Anyway, you'll soon be able to redeem prestige for rewards Smiley
2029  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Dive Into Bitcoin - a free, open-source bitcoin guide for newbs on: July 28, 2013, 12:54:00 AM
Nice, through I think it might be too technical to non-techies. There's lots of things that you can reword to make it more accessible - for example, "Bitcoin is a set of rules for how currency units can be created and transferred, much like mathematics."
2030  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Inputs.io | Instant Payments | Easy API | Secure Wallet | Offchain | No fees on: July 28, 2013, 12:47:47 AM

I'm not the only developer - new code/major refactors are reviewed by another developer. (@mooshire: blame him for no new features pushed out Smiley)

Can you make an option where you can either get notifications for all transactions, transactions above 0.01 BTC, or no transactions? Because I regularly send/receive transactions under that.

Maybe if the value of BTC increases even more. We don't want someone to be able to spam your inbox by sending you a bunch of transactions.

You can use Chrome/Chromium and enable desktop notifications - which shows for all transaction sizes.

I don't know Inputs.io future plans, However due to the (arguably) inevitable future BTC price spikes crashes + panic selling (read bank runs). This might become an issue if they (or someone else) were to be tempted into doing the fractional reserve thing.

No fractional reserve unless you move coins into CoinLenders. If there is any change to this policy, it will be announced in advance.

2033  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoins transferred under 5 secs. w/o confirmations! How possible? on: July 27, 2013, 06:48:01 AM
You don't need to wait for confirmations to submit a TX. You can craft TXes offline even, and chain 50 transactions and broadcast them in a second. However, if you don't include enough fees it'll be discarded by nodes.

2037  Other / Meta / Re: What is up with my trust list? on: July 27, 2013, 04:17:25 AM
Alright. Trust is a more elegant system than I thought!
Why does DefaultTrust have such a high amount of positive feedback?
Because DiamondCardz left him (along with other accounts like satoshi) a feedback with 9001 BTC risked. Every 25 BTC risked is 1 trust point.

2039  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMiner franchise plans: can now scale quickly without dominating the network on: July 27, 2013, 12:55:06 AM
ASICMINER franchise plans: can now dominate the network without quickly scaring.

I think most ASICMINER shareholders (me included) cares more about the % of hashing power that ASICMINER collects proceeds from, not if they're mining on ASICMINER's solo pool or not
2040  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Accept Bitcoin easily and save the blockchain. Use Inputs.io on: July 27, 2013, 12:50:50 AM
Bloody hell, finding this on someone's server would be a goldmine!

So sending coins away is as simple as one GET request? The wrong people will be drooling over this.

Unless I'm misunderstanding something, I strongly recommend you forget about advising people to automatically return funds to non-existent users, and strip all that stuff out. Read-access to a server shouldn't result in this kind of compromise.
Just like how sending coins away is just as simple as a JSON-RPC request..

Read-access to a server does give you wallet.dat
Not if the wallet.dat is encrypted.
Using inputs.io is no where near as secure as an encrypted bitcoind instance over RPC.
Where is the password stored in? On the same server? Back to where you started.

On a different server? How do you get the password from the different server? Using automated functions on the same server? Back to where you started.
