2021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers understood the game on: May 22, 2023, 09:04:11 PM
Gamblers understand the language they speak when it comes to gambling, so a physical casino player knows what an online casino player is talking about when it comes to bankroll and wager, risk management is easy to explain to them, compared to an investor, their perspective is different, so you'll have to spend hours before you can explain to them how not only to play but also about the house edge and many gambling terms.
I'll always prefer gamblers when I'm inviting someone to an online casino, you can always leave them on their own and they can manage.
2022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty hunter is considered as investors with a big patience. on: May 22, 2023, 03:03:26 PM
can we considered the patience of the bounty hunter same as the investors patience?

Bounty hunter's patience is far better because they cannot do anything just wait for the update to receive their token and wait again for months to get the token listed, whereas investors can easily dump their coins to cut their losses the moment they see their coins losing values, bounty hunters cannot do that sometimes they received their token after the developers and early birds dump their shares, and they have to trade it on whatever the price at the time they receive their shares.
Bounty hunters usually are the last to dump, bounty hunters' situation is worse in this present time.
2023  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2024 halving less than 1 year away on: May 22, 2023, 02:15:07 PM
We already have three halvings already we all know what happened during the halving, people this time are anticipating the next halving because they have seen how history repeats so my vote is Less than 6 months before the halving this is the time that investors will take action and start to HODL we will have the price that we all wish, which is $60 k to $100k of course provided that there's no FOMO happening.
This is not a piece of financial advice but this is the road that I'll follow.
2024  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who else thinks Dogecoin will become the reserve currency on Mars? on: May 22, 2023, 10:00:25 AM
No one we don't know if Doge will still exist when Mars started being inhabited, everything is still in the planning stage it will take decades before that happens and we don't know by then what is the structure of the market, if Meme coins are out of the market, remember Doge is temporary in the market because Elon still supports it, there may be a shift of plan or interest in the part of Elon.
This topic is out of range right now Doge supporters should first aim to get Doge as the number two coin which is unlikely to happen.

2025  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ethmine.xyz FAKE CLOUD MINING on: May 22, 2023, 08:50:02 AM
Goddamn, people are still falling for this scams? It's 2023 and these scammers hasn't changed their tactics and it's actually pretty awesome that they still get victims. To everyone who still dabble with this stupid scam, cloud mining isn't true, it never was, they're only after your money, the moment you put money in their site, it's not yours anymore.

Doesn't matter we can fast forward to five years from now and there are still scammers using cloud mining, new people are coming in and they will see and read how attractive cloud mining is and this will entice them to invest especially if they see people's testimonials and proof of payout which are all fakes.
Testimonials and proof of payment are two powerful to entice or attract new investors to go for it not all new investors will do their research before investing so for scammers it's still lucrative, so don't be surprised.
2026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: increased Youtube Gambling ads? on: May 22, 2023, 04:04:47 AM
I'm asking out of curiosity, are you guys experiencing a surge of gambling ads on youtube videos lately? this past week I've experienced an increased encounter of gambling ads on videos I watch on youtube. it's not that it bothers me, I am just surprised because I don't remember getting this many gambling ads on youtube videos in the past, but this past week, I usually get a gambling ad from 2-3 out of 5 videos I watch(it's just an estimation because of how often I get the ads). I don't know if it is because I recently watched several videos of streamers gambling or it's just a coincidence, I've watched streamers gambling videos in the past but I have never gotten this many gambling ads.

You're seeing this kind of ad because it's your preference if you're a gamer and actively searching for gaming on Youtube, the algorithm will catch it and will show you ads about gaming, this is how Google and Facebook, and other social media platforms monetize their platforms, their ads are targetted to the right audience, it's not that there are many ads from gambling sites it's just that there are many gamblers using Youtube platform and you could be one of it.

On Facebook, I can stop seeing this kind of ad but on Youtube, I just use Brave to stop those ads from showing.
2027  Other / Meta / Re: Crimes of signatures campaign affects forum? on: May 21, 2023, 11:33:59 PM
Signature campaigns are considered a third party and the forum is not collaborating with any of these, in fact, Bitcointalk stops advertising through bidding so the forum is not endorsing anything even their staff are being restricted from promoting certain platforms so how can the forum be affected, we all know that 1xbit is free to launch a campaign here but they are not charged or accused of collaboration.
Because the forum maintains its policy of openness and not moderating platforms except drugs and selling of arms.
2028  Other / Meta / Re: Forum Menbership- 3.5m registered only 56k members survived?..... Why? on: May 21, 2023, 09:30:13 PM

I did some analysis and there is a somewhat high chance that the forum will disappear before 2030

Your analysis is not accurate Bitcoin adoption will sustain Bitcointalk in terms of organic traffic and I don't think people will just lose interest in discussing Bitcoin and I don't think businesses and platforms related to Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency will just leave Bitcoin for unknown reasons, there are many factors that contributed why some of the accounts are not active anymore, and some of the points that you laid out are all true but if you notice the other reason is getting a lot of supports.

They may not be active users of the forum anymore but they know Bitcointalk and use it as a guest it is not the number of memberships but the traffic flow coming from keywords Bitcointalk build up over the years, that will sustain Bitcointalk.
2029  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Community Warning - Rollbit ⚠️ on: May 21, 2023, 08:28:40 PM

Let me note thats my deposits and withdrawals were in SOL so they theoretically should've been instant (all of them were except this last one) which is why I knew something was up right away. The reason I'm saying 2 hours was a little crazy was because take for instance someone like me that's never ran into and issue with deposits/withdrawals and suddenly am met with the only option being contact support. When contacted support their only response is "normal procedures" now what took 2 hours for them to clear my money? The first thing I searched was Rollbit holding funds and I'm met with tons of post on this forum and people having similar situations. Also I wasn't solely relying on this withdrawal but thousands of dollars is still thousands of dollars I'm sure anyone would've been upset.

So what are you accusing Rollbit of, there's no accusation and your warning is unfounded not because there are complaints you will create a warning sign against Rollbit, some of the complaints are already addressed and some complaints are because of the accusers' fault.
If you're following the rules and you believe that you have not broken any rule there's no need to worry about getting your withdrawal, Rollbit is not in the category of 1XBIT a proven scam casino.
2030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Metamask Implemented Crypto Tax on their ToS on: May 21, 2023, 02:16:42 PM
So is anyone seen the pop up on their app regarding the newly changes terms and conditions services?

Its not also clear on how they are gonna do this per country with different taxation regarding cryptocurrency.

I miss this one when reading the pop-up but this is something new and I also wonder how will the implementation be being a noncustodial wallet they only have it in their terms but there's no formal announcement and how it will operate
and guidelines for implementation, there's a lot of confusion in the community on these new terms.

All I know is it's the investors who have control when it comes to paying taxes to their respective countries.
if they are planning to have a custodial wallet then we will read an announcement and this taxation is just a prelude to that.
2031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Betswirl: A Web3 Gambling Platform on: May 21, 2023, 01:17:36 PM
I like the look of this web3 betting website and platform, but I might try to test the game with testnet funds, it seems this gambling platform has a token called BETS and it's already traded on some DEX exchange, I think there should be an official thread from the Bets team to promote the gambling platform in this forum.

If you represent the team, it's good to make the ANN thread better by adding a good image design, but if you only introduce this gambling platform I hope you stay active to provide any updates about this gambling platform site, I will try it later it looks like all bets go through smart contracts so they look more fair and fun. let's try that  Wink

I have no relation with this site, just sharing it here. My writing always sounds like I may be affiliated with what I write. Lol.

Yes, there is token called $BETS, exchanges available are mentioned on website, scroll down a bit and you will see [1].

[1] https://www.talkimg.com/image/umYGc

Since it is already here inBitcointalk if the developers become aware of this announcement and they like to open their announcement then it's better to give way, so we can suggest how they proceed in making their announcement good and we can give feedback that they can take up, the title of this thread is good because you are not claiming anything because you are not part of the team.
I have reservations about playing in this casino until the developers of the platform go here and make their own announcement.
2032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: May 21, 2023, 11:14:36 AM
When it comes to the judge's decision, anything can happen in pro boxing. It's well known that in pro you need to KO to secure your win. I think Loma understands that and he put a dominant performance to offset the biased decision, but it's still not enough. If this is an amateur fight, Loma easily wins. Well, I'm a bit sad that my hero lost, but it is what it is. It's his fault to go up 135 and challenging the undisputed champ with a hometown advantage. You just can't demand fair judges in pro boxing.

But this is definitely bad for boxing that is why its trending that people prefer to watch MMA more than boxing, its not a validation fight for Haney for me, and he could not hold that title for to long, all he does is run and he has a pillow fist, I don't think he hurt Loma or even got him in trouble.

Haney is another Mayweather in the making prefer to run and hug and counter punch he is hiding his weakness from the so called sweet science of boxing.

Loma has nothing to be ashame of he won the hearts of the boxing community, at 35 he is still got it and manage to dominate the young Haney, if there's a rematch its better it be held in a neutral ground.
2033  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Think Casinos Should Do Survey From Time To Time To Assess You. on: May 21, 2023, 12:43:43 AM
I voted Yes because so many players forget the terms that they agreed on when signing, they sometimes treat or considered all casinos' terms are the same, until they get a warning or get a ban, casinos should from time to time ask their players if they understood or still agreed to their terms this is to avoid future allegations useless accusations when everything just goes down from players' forgetting or unaware of the terms that they sign up with.
Some players just scroll down the terms or fast read thinbking that thery have seen and read it so many times.
2034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FOMO on: May 20, 2023, 11:20:25 PM
FOMO - Fear of missing out.

For me, it was actually this year. I actually looked for a $pepe coin around January, because of my love for Pepe Lore memes and couldn’t find anything. Now I missed out on a meme coin of a lifetime.
If you bought while in a pump you are on FOMO but because you did not buy this meme coin so we can call it a missed opportunity FOMO is when you rush to buy something because there is a continuous pump going on and you think that it will pump even more so you buy a lot, stock a lot.

PEPE is a hype coin so there's a risk of buying it now the pump subsided so it's a risk investing thinking that there's going to be another pump.
2035  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Gambling Operator Court Case on: May 20, 2023, 10:41:32 PM
All I know is casinos track cheaters but not all their players' bets as long as it is legit if there is no maximum bets that a player can do that is set by the terms, they can bet all they want, based on the article OP provided about Bet365 getting sued for the maximum bet.

Quote
If it does, a new precedent could be set for the gaming industry. In addition to being responsible for consumers’ gaming activity, operators may soon be responsible for limiting how much they can lose. Even if they pass affordability, responsible gambling, and mental health checks, consumers might still be able to lay claim to losses.

So it's worth watching this case if the player won casinos will look into limiting their members' betting and how much they can lose after doing an assessment and that could be bad for many casinos.
2036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Before investing on meme coin or shitcoins consider this. on: May 20, 2023, 12:44:06 PM
Many investors know all of this but they prefer to ignore all the warnings in the hope that they can gain a lot of money being the early investors and when there's a huge pump, they know the admin will dump at an unexpected time and they are looking to dump ahead of the admin or when the admin is dumping.
There's a huge risk in investing in shitcoins you have to be on alert because anytime you could become a bagholder of the shitcoin you bought, never think that you can hold a shitcoin for the long term, shitcoins are created for admin to profit they are worse than a Ponzi scheme.
2037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't gamble if you don't have patience on: May 20, 2023, 11:38:01 AM

For some reason. I started to appreciate instant withdrawal now that I experienced this first hand. In my case, it’s not about the casino but the blockchain slow confirmation.

This is not going to be the last time, in the future, we may see another network congestion that is beyond our control and you are caught playing while there is congestion, so even if you don't want to if you don't have patience you could lose all your bankroll or even your winning, so it's still better to cultivate patience for your own good, what recently happened is the test of our patience, patience in gambling is a good virtue.
2038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: May 20, 2023, 10:12:10 AM

However, who is really losing the psychological tactics? During the face off, Haney appears to have lost his control on his emotions and pushed Lomachenko. This might show that there is fear in Haney. This might also become an advantage for Lomachenko if he can cause something similar in the ring hehe.

It appears that I might have underestimated the Ukranian. Can I change my vote? Change to 19 votes for Haney, 17 votes for Lomachenko hehehehehehe.

I'm surprised he did that, what's with Haney, I have seen a lot of his face-off and he is not like this he used to be very cool and gentlemanly what's with him, Loma is very cool it's like a normal routine for him it's like another fight for him and Haney feels like he is being underestimated by Loma, this is going to be a very good match to watch.
The first one to lose his cool and composure will likely make a mistake that the other guy can exploit.
2039  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there play and pay later casinos? on: May 20, 2023, 04:51:04 AM
To play in any casino you have to come with your money or asset, or are there any casinos that allow play and pay later? Or I am thinking if maybe he used a credit card for gambling? We all know that debt is possible on cards..

I don't think most banks will allow that form of transaction where credit or sort of pay later can be used at casino platforms.

Gambling is one of the services that credit cards won't entertain as valid transaction. Just imagine the number of possible issues that the bank can face if they will allow using credit cards on gambling sites such as fraud, chargeback, authorization issues, etc.

The casino itself I believed won't also allow that kind of transaction. If users don't have money, then don't gamble.
There are casinos that accept credit cards and these are some of the partial lists
https://www.letsgambleusa.com/online-casino/credit-cards/

But they don't recommend credit card transactions because of the very high processing fees some transactions range from 9 to 15.9% so these casinos recommend the use of Cryptocurrency for fast transactions and lower fees, these are the reasons why the majority of casinos now accept and promote the use of Cryptocurrency for convenience for both players and the casinos.
2040  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Confirmed Scam, The STN TOKEN (Stretch to Earn) on: May 19, 2023, 11:17:31 PM
So why create a new thread when you can just update the old thread and change the title or add the word Confirmed in the title.

So that one is a warning and this is the confirmation?

It's not how to report a scam works here,  you better lock this thread and just update the old thread, no need to create a thread for confirmation.
