1401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Possible measures to stop online gambling addiction. on: August 03, 2023, 06:05:21 AM

I am of the opinion that since gambling sites are mostly online and some has adds that pops up as advert on visited site, one should be able to disable or change their browser settings  by blocking casino adds and as well disabling  gambling sites on their browser settings so as not to gain access to it anymore till the number of days they deem fit to their resolve. This was just a little tip I gave as a possible solution. I had to put it up here for further discussions so that the bigger community can see it as  well.

If you feel or think here is not the right place for this you can say it. I am open to corrections as we all are here to learn.
Not seeing does not mean that you can get away from gambling addiction, if you're a gambler the temptation to check casinos is always there, even disabling ads about casinos will not, if you have not played on casinos you can do that but if you experienced playing in casinos, once you're online you will have the curiosity to check casinos, it's better to have a control avoiding is not enough to stop gambling addiction.
You have to believe in yourself that you can do it and that you can control your gambling habit, of course, pop-ups are an annoyance even if it's not about gambling, people should install ad blockers on their browsers if they're someone that is annoyed by ads, you need to install one.
1402  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How are your exchange tokens performing at the moment? on: August 02, 2023, 11:54:42 PM
this year has been quite turbulent for some altcoins, especially exchange tokens. I've invested in a few and performance-wise, only a handful of them have shown decent growth throughout the year. How about you? Do you have any exchange tokens in your holdings, and what are your thoughts on their market performance this year? Let's discuss our experiences and perspectives on how these tokens have been faring in this volatile market.

The last exchange-based token I've hold was Nominex glad that I dumped it before a huge crash even Kucoin or KCS suffered a huge drop only Binance backed token is doing great in the market and the real exchange-based token that has real potential in the market, but we never know CEX is here to stay there could be a time where these exchange based token will have a strong showing, right now we are in the MEME and AI era, this is where investors are looking more to invest.
1403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's safe to say - gambling is a guy thing. on: August 02, 2023, 10:50:45 PM
Hey y'all...Seriously, I've been having this running through my mind.. maybe it's been discussed but this is on a diverse objective.
Why is it that we tend to have alot of men inclined and addicted to gambling than women? Is there any mystery guiding that?
I mean, You ain't gonna telme that everyone isn't roofed by this economic crises - both gender to speak of - so what's so special about men gambling?? Alot of cases has been reported several times too - and y'all end up realizing that MEN are usually involved in very many critical cases... What's that validating? That men are really taking the whole thing personal??

Sandra 🧑‍🦰

That used to be the perception decades ago its taboo to see women gambling, so back then people thought that gambling was a guy thing but things have changed dramatically.

Quote
While women were once perceived to be protected from the harms of gambling, a changing gendered landscape, which includes new products, new media, and new technology, means that more women are gambling and experiencing harm from gambling than ever before.

Women and gambling-related harm: a narrative literature review and implications for research, policy, and practice

We are now in a modern era where women are more liberated and handle higher positions in a company and society accept the role of woman in shaping the future.

It's just women's nature, they are more responsible and have more control of their emotions which they can apply to gambling by being the homemaker that they are.
1404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do wager affect outcomes in any provably fair games on: August 02, 2023, 10:11:14 PM
I noticed that when I start to play games like keno, limbo, dice, etc. First some bets don't hit and after wagering some percentage of my balance it starts to hit,
How it works? like when we wager we have more probability to hit win, anyone noticed this? Do you know how it works and what is the calculation behind it?, do server sends outcomes by checking our wager?

No, it doesn't work that way, if there are patterns we'll have no casino existing now, don't fool yourself the martingale method seems like a good pattern at what one looks but it will never work nor all the variations of martingale.

What you should know is there is a house edge that you are up against and you have to deal with it not finding any pattern that will make you win, just do a lot of variations, especially in keno and dice have fun and if you're lucky you could hit the jackpot, jackpot seems to come when you least expect it, that's makes gambling fun, it's not a drill that you will do to expect the result that you want.
1405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My passion on bitcoin on: August 02, 2023, 01:46:42 PM
Nobody loses in Bitcoin as long as you are a true holder, and you have a strong belief in its potential, your shares maybe be down but if you have the patience and you invest with money that is allocated for Bitcoin investment only there is nothing to worry about, as long as you see how it is adopted and it's being used by many people.

Like you, I'm also looking for an opportunity to add more to my Bitcoin investment it's one year to go before the halving  another round for a huge profit.
1406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Collective bets in local lotteries on: August 02, 2023, 12:24:22 PM

Maybe it can be tried but we have to ensure who can be in that group. We could choose our close friends to be a group so there is no jealousy or other feelings.

We really never know our friend until there's money involved, friends will agree on the terms when you're betting but it's different when you all win, there's also betrayal and quarrel along the way like if the person who thinks of the number ask for more shares.

So many things have to be settled or at least get the help of an attorney so you can all be guided on how to proceed in case your group the jackpot so everybody is bounded by an agreement created by lawyers, to avoid this hustle its better to just bet on your own if you hit the jackpot there is no agreement to follow.

Donaire is emotionally hurt after finding out that his father who used to be his former trainer on his first title shot against Darchinyan predicted that he would be knocked out by Santiago

Wow.  Just found out that my DAD was predicting I'd get koed by Santiago.  That stings differently

Nonito Donaire Jr. ‘hurt’ after dad predicted he would get knocked out by Santiago

They have a very bitter parting of ways Donaire Sr. should not say that thing it's like wishing that his son to be in trouble you never do that to your son, boxing is a dangerous sport he knows it since he is a trainer also, by saying this he doesn't care on his son anymore.
1408  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Really Burn helps Token in positive way? on: August 02, 2023, 10:03:26 AM
The burning mechanism is just one of the factors that will help one token in a positive way, Shiba Inu is doing well not only because of the burning mechanism but more so because the community is still hyped on MEME coin brought by Elon Musk pushing of Dogecoin, and it so happens that Shina Inu launches on the right time, the burning mechanism is only good if there are community support and the project and its platform have a use case, we have seen other tokens concentrating on their burn mechanism but they ended up as a scam and shit coin.

Do not just rely on a burning mechanism it's easy for a contract-based token to implement a burn mechanism but they should also have something to offer to the community so they can last long in the market.
1409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: KSI v Tommy Fury Misfits Boxing 14th Oct on: August 01, 2023, 11:53:41 PM
This could be a tune fight for Tommy Fury because Jake Paul has one coming against Nate Diaz so if they win in their respective fight, there's going to be an interest for them to do it again and they can hype it, I'm sure Tommy and Jake Paul will try to win convincingly to get people interested in their rematch, especially Jake Paul who some people think won the fight, and of course, Tommy Fury wants to get even on the knockdown he suffers from Jake Paul.
The potential Jake Paul - Tomy Fury fight will make people become interested in this fight, I hope KSI will give Tommy a good fight.
1410  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Payment processor hacked, more than $23M in crypto stolen on: August 01, 2023, 11:21:53 PM
I have never heard of them, but probably because I rarely gamble, it said that it's a payment processor for gambling service. Seems like it's not for individual, I suppose their client is mostly casino owner/company. It also said that one of their client operates several illegal casino so this payment processor never do background check on their client, no wonder their platform is not secured.
It's not for the average Joes like us, this is the reason that there's not much information about this payment processor until this hacking incident,  if you're into gambling it's a concern if one of the casinos you're playing has it as their partner because it will have an impact on their finances if it's true that they facilitate payment for illegal casinos they are then conniving and it's not good on their reputation and there's legal implications on this, payment processor should check the reputation of their partners even if they work for companies only.
1411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you planning to accumulate for 2025 on: August 01, 2023, 10:47:50 PM
I have been gone for a while and now I am back, I am fully prepared to build some long term hold bags with the new trending utilities in the crypto space, I still somehow believe that Metaverse and A.I will generate big gains by 2025, what coins are you currently looking forward to accumulating? Out of Metaverse and Artificial intelligence is fine.

Why 2025 why not now or next year 2024 the halving year where there's potential gain, we never know what's going to happen in 2025 we never talked about AI two years ago, now suddenly it is everywhere, so in 2025 there could be new trending coin in the market, metaverse, and Artificial intelligence are good picks they are here for a long term but pick the right Metaverse and AI to invest the market is flooded with AI and Metaverse token check the company who create it and their whitepaper, many AI and metaverse will come out with a fake whitepaper and roadmap.

Why do I feel bad about this project is it because they have these words in their project description
Quote
revolutionizing the digital asset industry
These are the same words that scammers are using in their platform to hype their project, their standard for applicants is very high, I'm sure many of us here are qualified but does this project are on our standard we don't know OP is not posting anything and this is not good.
In an environment where so many dubious and fake projects OP should be transparent and prove that people are not taking part in a dubious project.
1413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Collective bets in local lotteries on: August 01, 2023, 09:35:22 PM
Would like to know your takes on betting as a group to raise chances in local
Lotteries

I know that mathematically the chances are still really low even if you multiply it 100x but in Brazil at least we’ve seen some local lottery prizes given for small groups of 20 or 30 people betting betting with 5000x tickets let’s say

If dreaming alone is cool dreaming in groups can be even better

I don't go for it lottery is an extremely luck-based game, you can win with one ticket or with thousand tickets I've read that one guy wins a lottery on his first bet in a lottery, and you, buying one ticket have the same chance as that buying with thousands of tickets and besides if you want to win in a once in a lifetime bet you prefer to win it by having all the money.
I've never encountered this method before even though the lottery is very popular here in our country, and besides it is hard to be anonymous when you are part of the group betting and you win the jackpot you cannot be so sure that your co- participants will honor the agreement that you will not divulge the name of other co bettors.
1414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: August 01, 2023, 03:23:13 PM

Maybe the outcome of Canelo vs Jermell Charlo fight is very important because if Jermell Charlo were to win, I'm sure Crawford would see it as a good opportunity to fight Jermell Charlo by moving up, as a win would make him more popular.

How about Crawford - Canelo both have a claim to be a crowd drawer and a pound-for-pound king, I don't think Canelo can impose his skill and power against Canelo the way Crawford devastated Spence if they cross their path I hope they do, Canelo will have a beating more than what he gets from his fight against Bivol.

Crawford is already 35 not many years left in his boxing career, so his promoters and handlers should think of fighting fighters in the pound-for-pound list that he can fight in a catch weight.
1415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: new token idea on: August 01, 2023, 02:18:10 PM
Hello,

I'm thinking of developing a new token with a concept, but since I'm not deeply involved in the crypto world, I'm unsure if my idea is already implemented or viable.

Please don't we already have a sea of shitcoins already we don't need more if you do not have a platform to back up your token or it is something revolutionary in a chain and it's just a pump-and-dump token I'm sure with over 10k coins listed and thousand more deads it has already been implemented, investors could have accepted it if it brings something new and unique so many coins and tokens are just trend coins or duplicate of existing coins.

If you want to proceed it's up to you but things are different now people want to see the use case especially if your token will do a crowdfunding, so many developers are flooding the market with new tokens because of the crowdfunding, and once they got the money they dump their shares then leave, leaving investors losing their money.
1416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: August 01, 2023, 12:59:42 PM

However, we know how defensive Haney is, and if Prograis try to be the aggressor, I think it will be like Haney against Kambosos. Wherein Haney will have the upper hand as he will do the counter all night long. The only chance that Prograis is to hit Haney flush to win by ko as Haney doesn't have a good chin to begin with.

Good defense and timing in counterpunching are the best defense against a strong puncher Haney is so good at frustrating his opponent and accumulating points, that Prograis should find a way to get his punches in.

Haney is a boring fighter like Mayweather but his style gets the nod of the judges, judges score on hits and defense and that's what happens in his encounter against Kambosos, he cannot avoid Haney's counterpunching, I don't think Prograis is the fighter that will handle Haney's first loss.

1417  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for WebDesigner for simple WP sites! on: July 31, 2023, 11:58:36 PM
I'm looking for Webdesigners to build simple, and mordern WP blog based on the Topic I will provide.

How much are you willing to pay for the simple WP?

As you are a newbie, you really would need a escrow or you will need to pay some upfront.

I don't use telegram, but  I have some experience. You can check the website on my personal text.
He didn't want to use an escrow. He insisted on paying after the work is completed. Which is a no go for me(or any other sane person).

I'm also surprised that he managed to find someone to do this work for him, as he told me  that he's going to do it himself on telegram.

yeahh
I finally found someone who did the job and I paid him as you can see  Wink Topic can be closed now

You and the one you hired are being questioned if there's a completed deal why not end this thread by just posting the site that the designer created with all the details that you've given to be completed, that's how this topic will end and not alluding to what members are requesting.
1418  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: XRP Lawyer Jeremy Hogan's Twitter Account Hacked on: July 31, 2023, 11:40:18 PM
just want to update this thread that it looks like Jeremy Hogan's Twitter account has been recovered from the scammer/hackers. the owner of the account has posted a tweet on July 29 saying that he has gained control of his account again and would post photos to prove that he is actually the owner of the account.

Well after that what's next, he is a lawyer he knows the law and since he is working on Cryptocurrency and security is part of it, he should do something about it he can ask authorities to investigate and summon Twitter to explain what happens.

Unless it's his fault that he loses access to his account if that's the case then Jeremy Hogan doesn't deserve to be a part of the counsel of XRP, and he doesn't deserve to handle cases about online platform security.
1419  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: July 31, 2023, 11:21:55 PM

Anyhow, we can only see if Tapales will surprise us with an upset win although technically, Inoue really dominated him at everything.

I hate to say this but Tapales will just hand over the title to Inoue, in their meeting after Inoue's win against Fulton Tapales did not show confidence that he could beat Inoue, compared to Casimero who keeps daring him to fight him, its already given that Inoue will become the undisputed Super Bantamweight champion without serious opposition from anyone, he will sweep it and move on the higher division for more challenges, it's easier to make a plan when you are as good as Inoue.
1420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin (DOGE) on: July 31, 2023, 10:53:04 PM
Is DOGE Coin's Rise a Sign of the Future of Cryptocurrencies, or a Fleeting Internet Meme Phenomenon?

Imagine this, where is Dogecoin place if Elon Musk did not hype it, it will remain an unpopular meme coin we all come to love in the past before the hype people are praising Dogecoin and its community for staying put over the years when it's just a clone of Bitcoin with a very huge supply until one day a powerful and richest man on Earth decides to hype and the rest is history, majority of investors are profit driven where the money is this is where investors will lean towards as long as Elon supports Doge it will remain on top, but it will never topple Bitcoin.
