Imagine a wallet (hot or not) becomes the market leader and more than half the existing bitcoins are stored there.
Then imagine it's security is breached.
If this happens at a time when bitcoin has been mass accepted and it is a dominant currency to store wealth in world-wide - then a criminal could be in possession of half the wealth in the world.....
Sounds surreal and could not happen in a FIAT system.
One word... fork.

This user fanfic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=536948 is abusing the trust system by leaving false ratings on many accounts (mine too). I don't even know who he/she is nor have ever interacted with him but by looking at his "Sent feedback" he seems to be leaving similar ratings on other accounts. It's weird and I guess it can be counted as spam which can call for a ban too. It could be counted as spam, but I don't think his trust comments are to be considered 'trusted' by the entire community .... or am I wrong? So at the end it is not real a problem. I know it's not a problem at all because he is himself having 3 DT negatives in his kitty. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) The problem is the spamming and here spammers are banned (whether for posts or for trust). Having not interacted with a user makes his rating meaningless and noticing he leaves similar ratings on any random account can earn him a ban. Are you sure? I have never heard of someone banned due the spam of negative (or positive -neutral , why not?) trust. Can you give me some link (of thread) so I can read them? Thanks.

Don't you have a copy of your messages in your email? You get a mail whenever you receive a message along with the matter and so it can help you to get the required information while if you want YOUR sent messages then you can PM the admin.
What if he is using a 'random email'?

I'm doing the ones I can now but takes quite a long time. There is usually a lack of mods on the weekends though.
Thanks for your work. Locking the thread to prevent useless posts by the users that are enrolled in the various sig. campaign.

They're probably alts of each other also, judging by their UID's.
It's a good thing to scan such files on virustotal.com also, because most of them come crypted , so as soon as one of the AV's pick up detection, VT distrubutes result to all AV's, flagging the file on most of them. ATM this file is at 11/50 detection.
cheers
The other possibility is that : their forum accounts have been hacked (because they have download the fastminer software).

If price doesn't go over 300 by the halving i think most people will start to sell and give up. A ton of mining farms will also go under.
This is obvious, if the price will not be more high than now ... the miners will shut down their 'asic' hardware.

Hello,
short question, how long is there this red notice in an account, stating that the password for an account was recently changed? It will show up in a user's trust profile for 3 days if the password was simply changed and will show up for 30 days if it was reset via email. It will remain in the security log for 30 days regardless. And if an account was banned previously at one point in time, can this be seen somewhere?
No. Greetings! Sebastian
Thank you Quickseller. Then if someone claims an account was not banned before, you cant proof otherwise, except you find posts stating that or a staff members is answering, right? The notice only there 2 days is interesting. But staying there 30 days in the log is somewhat long. Can you tell how many different accounts are mentioned in this security log? If the account was banned recently, you can always check the modlog https://bitcointalk.org/modlog.phpIn that log appear only the permanent bans and not the temporary bans.

The most stupid thread that 've never "seen or read" in my forum life.
I think someone of the users that are registered in signature campaign, "has created" the forum account and (obviously) this thread to spam and raise his post count... but this is only a supposition.

So i wondered how secure it is to verify the ownership of an account by signing a message with an old posted bitcoin address. Now i thought that, when you edit a post, the post will have a short line under the post that states "This post was edited on... something". But nothing like that happens.
So this sounds like a serious problem to me. If we want to be signatures worth something then we would need such a "edited-info".
Do you mean a sort of Log? It would be good idea. Otherwise a hacker could go, edit an old post that wasnt quoted in the thread, and insert a bitcoin address he owns. Voila, he is the legit owner since ages.
So am i overlooking something or that really a risk? If so i would want to ask for enabling this notice.
If the 'hacker' edits an old post ... it will not be a problem (due the short line under the post - the notify edit). So it should not be considered as valid proof.

ok i just wonder how i can show other ppl that i got 2 trust and not the 0
They should add you on their trust list, this is the unique way... That would not change the way OP is seen by others, it only changes the way the ratings OP left are seen by those that added them. Its also (IMHO) a bad reason to add someone to your trust list as you are very likely not going to change that and end up with a big pile of users on your trust lists whos ratings you might not trust or deem valuable. ... Yes of course, this is what I said (or what I wanted to say ~ " They should add you on their trust list, this is the unique way...") but you came with the other valid way : If you want others to see all ratings you have been given, show them how to enable "untrusted ratings shown by default"
Profile -> Forum Profile Information -> check Show untrusted feedback by default and click change profile.

Like you said, scammer aren't banned from this forum (this is not the policy of this forum) so this thread is really, really useless. Also the poll is really useless (for the alternative account question).
