2061  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Okex vs Binance on: July 11, 2021, 12:05:49 AM

if you read the reddit/binance pages you will see that a lot of users have problems with them
Probably because they don't understand and might they didn't follow the step-by-step setup of the kickback.  I didn't an expert on this but I think Binance will not ruin their reputation on this referral program they had.

Just try to read this article posted by the Binance website, the Referral program FAQ, this might help you.

Comparing both exchanges I prefer to choose Binance but for me, they are both have good reputation, the only advantage thing is that Binance is a more popular one than Okex.
2062  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Does CryptoTab Browser Mine BTC? on: July 10, 2021, 11:49:39 PM

If u want to mine with PC better use Nicehash to mine it pays much more and secure , its since 2013

I'd be careful when using Nicehash mining service because I remember back in 2017 when they got hacked and thousands of Bitcoin were stolen. While they worked hard to refund most of the affected users, I wouldn't put too much into a venture like this. I used to patronize miming farms like that in the past but they have very little profit margin since you've to cover other fees which would be deducted from what would be your payout which is small even before the deduction takes place.
Yes, they got hacked and that was 4,450 Bitcoin has been lost and it was posted on this thread back then, 2017.  We don't know what exactly happen and might we think an inside job or an exit scam.

We heard a lot of scams that happen on cloud mining, I don't think OP didn't learn about that, most cloud mining didn't have their own mining machines or they just rented the mining machine and claiming they are the owner.  My advice is to stay away and don't put your money on this kind of investment.

2063  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if all the currencies in the movie are Bitcoin? on: July 10, 2021, 11:24:36 PM
IMO, why not.
I have seen many movies that talking about Bitcoin in a short scene.  There's nothing bad using Bitcoin as a currency in a movie as long it has a good concept.  But my concern most is that most that I have seen are that Bitcoin was commonly used in illegal activities which makes people think that Bitcoin is for a bad purpose, if there's new to Bitcoin and saw that movie might think not to use Bitcoin at all.

It has been used so many times and if this will continue using it gives more benefits to Bitcoin becomes well known but this will depend on the concept of the movie how Bitcoin will use.
2064  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is this Phishing or not? on: July 08, 2021, 04:03:17 PM
The SSL certificate being used by http[colon]//game[dot]earnbet[dot]io/ has been expired for over a month, thus the message, since whatever you type will be in clear text on the internet, and can be captured by a sniffer.
I tend to agree with this because there could be a different reason why there's an SSL connection error.  It could certificate was expired, or another reason is your browser have used isn't updated.  If the reason was due to their server problem, you need to wait until they will be fixed it and now, upon posting this I didn't encounter the same as OP, everything works fine, which means this isn't a phishing site.

If you trust the site and don't want to encounter this again, you can disable the SSL scan in your anti-virus used or in the firewall setting on your PC.  But still, be careful on this, there might a phishing site that you may encounter, at least you're aware.
2065  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Question for bitcoin traders !!! on: July 08, 2021, 03:35:10 PM
I dont panic now. I've admit that there is a tiny regret feeling when it reached new ATH at 60k and I wasnt be able to at least convert it into USDT. But Ive seen the worst dip before and this bearish moment is just a normal scene in bitcoin market that we just need wait until it recovers.

So, how do we cope up with bitcoin price flactuations? We shall have managemeny plan, target profit and lose and shall have control over emotions.
A financial management plan is very important when you have an investment in crypto because it's very volatile that you should be coped up.  You just need to set up a target profit plan and don't think panic selling when the market goes down.  No one might be selling their crypto-assets under the price where they purchased them.

Using extra money is a wise decision because you can't touch it if you don't need it, which means what is the purpose of selling under the price if you don't need any financial.

The most important thing is when we invest in crypto that we know how volatile it is, don't regularly check the market price, forget at least for years and then come back after 4-5 years, you will see a better result.
2066  Other / Archival / Re: Question to Merit Sources on: July 07, 2021, 03:14:43 PM
IMO, the more merits sources that have been become appointed it means the merrier and it was expected each of them have a different standard level of distributing their smerit allocations.  Let them be about their smerit distribution because theymos appointed them on that task so it means they deserved on that position, if theymos notice of abusing his position he has the right to demote member from merit source to a regular member and AFAIK, there's already demoted from a merit source.

I saw one such merit source, now it is no longer active on this forum. He did not ignore, but if your thoughts do not coincide with his point of view, he will not evaluate any of your posts ever again. I believe that such people should be maximally fenced off from the distribution of merit.
I noticed this too and it seems until now there are merit sources like this, if there are 2-3 of them, let them be, there are almost 100 merit sources left that possible you can get merit (deserve as a good poster) and it doesn't mean these 2-4 merit sources has the same behavior of the remaining merit sources.  But I tend to agree with the bolded part, lower a little bit their standard of distributing merits means there are some average posters (like me) that will happy to see once we received merit, when my post gets merited, I read it back what's the reason.

I don't know who is(are) ignoring me but if there's a chance to know them, I will never interact discussion with them anymore.  But this isn't good ignoring each other, we're a community here and we're an open forum to discuss different opinions and probably we should supposedly need to have a thick skin against spammer and shitposter, instead report their posts to the mod or give them a warning, later part they will learn and evolve soon.  I believe they need encouragement and once they received at least one, they will surely force themselves to be a better poster, IMO.

Just my two cents anyway.
2067  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the reasons for entering the crypto market? on: July 06, 2021, 11:59:35 PM
As a newbie in cryptocurrency, I first learned about cryptocurrency and wanted to start investing,The reason was that I couldn't go out during the covid-19. I happened to see cryptocurrency news on the website. I started to be shocked by their earnings. I started to invest in Bitcoin and other altcoins with my free funds. I want to ask you when and why did you start investing in cryptocurrencies?
Why me? since you're a newbie here, it would be better if we were talking about your side.

There are different ways of having earning on investing in crypto, trading, or just a pure investment in crypto and wait until the price will go up.
And then, if you have already invested just wait for it until your profit was there or hold it for a long period of time.  Talking about altcoins, I don't have any idea which is a profitable one, IMO, Bitcoin is the best and safest investment in the crypto market space.
2068  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you find good ICO's and new projects in general? on: July 06, 2021, 11:52:41 PM
Not Easy to find a legit ICO. based on other people's experiences you can consider analyzing the whole project such as WP, goals, team, roadmap. if the progress and the project is going well, such as a partnership and a list in the market, you can participate.
These are good signs to spot and legit ICO, but it doesn't mean they will not turn into scams.  If you have a plan, just stick to them and watch them closely especially their community because there are a lot of discussions there and updates that give information qucikly.

That's the reason I stopped investing and participating in ICO projects because most of them are turned into scams.  Just focus on Bitcoin investment and for sure you will never regret it if you are a long-term holder.  There's a better ROI ahead when the price goes up.
2069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are some interesting ways you've introduced bitcoin to your friends? on: July 06, 2021, 11:32:37 PM
I remember when one of my close friends asking me about Bitcoin and what it is I simply answered them with basic information and then told them to research further on the internet.  I gave them 1 physical coin that I purchased in a collectible section before to encourage them to push their research and I told them to give them another one if they already understand it.  The good thing to say, most of them now fully understand what is Bitcoin, in fact, they are now crypto traders and seeking a small job in exchange for Bitcoin or any crypto.

I will not force anyone to introduce Bitcoin, the one who approaches me will get the right and correct information because if they don't understand and they invested Bitcoin thinking that they will easily earn of it but the outcome is a massive loss, for sure they will blame you in that way.
2070  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why can a piece of news from the Chinese government affect the price of Bitcoin? on: July 06, 2021, 05:21:23 PM
It could be because most of those big investors are in China if there are newbie investors there that are easily scared of the banning implementation they will probably sell their assets.  Even though was announced the recent ban on Bitcoin but still Chinese citizens still able to hold or sell their coins through a decentralized exchange.  So if most of them get panic, it will surely have an impact on the Bitcoin price.

Why does the negative news from China always affect the price of Bitcoin? When does Bitcoin become less sensitive to negative news?
That's the new investors that easily get panic selling, it could contribute to shaking the market price and the last one temporarily has a break time in most miners there or migrating into other countries.
2071  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: hot wallet \ buying bitcoin on: July 06, 2021, 04:55:47 PM
i use "trust wallet" but i know that if i will writh\copy something wrong in the adress i will lost the bitcoin so i prefer to check this twice
Not twice but thrice, check the last and the first digits, but commonly this will happen if your device used was compromised and have a malware infection.  You should be careful with every transaction because once it will be confirmed, this is irreversible, not unless if you have full control of the recipient's address.

Trust Wallet is good but I don't think if you like the features they had not like Electrum that has a high level of security of all hot wallets, the customizable fee (neither Opt-In RBF nor CPFP is an option), and can able to customized the seed phrase.  If you're going to transfer in a cold wallet this is also compatible with most hardware wallets.

But it's your choice, this is only a tip.
2072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think will happen to Bitcoin in 100 years? on: July 06, 2021, 04:23:30 PM
It seems too hard to predict in that long, it could be after 100 years Bitcoin will still exist but it's too expensive to accumulate if we use the word satoshi (sats) per transaction, that year we might commonly hear milli-satoshis the smallest fraction of satoshi which is in there's 1,000 milli-satoshi in 1 sat, this also a native unit of the Lightning Network.

There are too many possible things that will happen after that year, Bitcoin has now 11 years of existent and we saw a lot of improvement on it.  It could be there's no Bitcoin to hold or Bitcoin mining will stop after 21 million supply has been mined.  But don't think so much because for sure at that year we didn't exist.  Just be it and think about how you can accumulate more instead.
2073  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hardware wallet for altcoins on: July 05, 2021, 11:53:51 PM
What are some other hardware wallets which I can check out?
A wide variety of hardware wallets that you can choose from this list, [BIG LIST] Hardware wallets (80+) and it includes the price and which supported cryptocurrencies.

Quote
On ledger, I can see certain cryptos are not supported on Ledger Live. What does that mean even?
This was carefully explained here.
Probably because each coin has its own wallet and Ledger wallet has difficulties choosing the right one, you need probably check it one by one.
2074  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 7 Trusted Bitcoin Investment Sites and Crypto Exchanges 2021 on: July 05, 2021, 11:36:54 PM
It's a good list but actually, it's a lack of information which is obviously, you look after your referral link attaching to the article.  You must put a reason why they are trusted exchanges and centralized exchanges are far different from decentralized exchanges.  If you were to use centralize exchange there's a circumstance of requiring a KYC procedure is a must.

But at least you are stating there that a good wallet should have owned a private key than leaving your purchase cryptocurrencies on the exchange wallet which is not really good.
2075  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin become a true decentralized currency? on: July 05, 2021, 11:06:16 PM
Bitcoin is decentralized but it doesn't mean it can't be manipulated, because the price varied on the demand and supply.  We have a large transaction tracker that we can always suspect as a Bitcoin price manipulation but yet we aren't sure if that was come from a manipulator or not.  It's really hard to prove the manipulation process because getting data from different various exchanges may not be enough to determine the manipulation effects because some price movement causes by the organic traders how they are actively doing trading in the market.

However, even how many times we heard about manipulation and even the most influential people involved in this.  Bitcoin remains the best form of investment asset and still spreading the adoption process because no one can stop even the government due to natural decentralization.
2076  Economy / Exchanges / Re: YoBit HELP - locked out on: July 05, 2021, 04:38:22 PM
Yobit is a scam OP, your account getting out of being locked out is useless because they are a scam.
They might offer scam services, but I've never heard of them intentionally locking a customer out of their account before (though I certainly could have missed a complaint or multiple complaints like that).  When I used to have an account with them, I didn't use 2FA but would frequently forget my password, and I never had trouble recovering it through Yobit.
I tend to agree with this because until now I have a friend who still using this exchange for quick swapping of his Bitcoin to XRP and send to a local wallet with the purpose of sort anonymity and saving fee when the Bitcoin network is congested.  He told me the reason why until now he still using that exchange site even though he aware that there are a bunch of scams accusations is just because every time he will deposit his Bitcoin it will generate different addresses and until now I didn't hear he has a problem on that exchange.

But IMO, they aren't worth it to trust and store your money there even though OP was very lucky enough because his account was recovered, it still won't encourage me to use them.  They had a bunch of scam services offered and they also a house of shitcoins which is very risky if you're one of their investors.
2077  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to start with reselling cloud mining services/mining farms on: July 05, 2021, 03:56:35 PM
To tell you frankly cloud mining now isn't good, investors have learned already from investing cloud mining investment because usually, it ended up scamming people and running away their investment, not unless if you really have mining facilities and at the same time you have a mining cloud, it's good to encourage people to invest if you a proof that you own mining business but if not, they will think that it is the same as before because this kind of business is really hard to build trust.

Why not focus on the mining business, just invest on your own and build trust if you're new to it.
2078  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cryptocurrency will always be threat to government on: July 05, 2021, 03:29:39 PM
Some reason is that they think that Bitcoin or cryptocurrency in general, is a threat to the financial system institution and it could be used in any criminal activity such as money laundering or any illegal purchase that could be used against terrorism that could harm the government.  But in fact, fiat can also be used for illegal activities as I mentioned above.

Another reason is the threat of the business in the central banks when Bitcoin has become in the mainstream and everyone didn't put money on the bank instead, investing into Bitcoin.  This is also a big loss to the government since central banks and governments are helping each other with the aim of economical growth.

The last one is, most crypto holders can hide their assets through crypto and avoid taxation.  Since it is decentralized in nature, governments are at a loss of control over it.  But overall as a crypto user, it will always have a benefit on us than the government.
2079  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If your country does not allow the use of Bitcoin, what would you do? on: July 03, 2021, 11:59:21 PM
What should I do if Bitcoin is prohibited in my country/region?
There are too many ways to trade like buy and sell Bitcoin even though it was banned in your country, as mentioned by @Upgrade00 use P2P exchanges is much better to hide your identity and have a normal transaction for both parties.  For both Hodlhodl and Bisq, I prefer to use Bisq because it is very easy to use.

This is a very wrong move by the country to ban Bitcoin knowing the fact that this can't be ban and how they will ban code that runs through computers, its a fool, everyone can access it if they want to.

Quote
If mining is prohibited, do I need to switch to a place that recognizes Bitcoin to continue mining?
About this case, you need to switch to another country but transferring devices go outside in the country that implementing the ban is very hard to move your mining equipment.  I don't know what is the process of transferring equipment.
2080  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best way to promote a referral url: on: July 03, 2021, 11:30:51 PM
Well, it does help that I have 1000's of referrals.
It looks unrealistic for me, or it has a long time frame before you've got that thousand referred users.
However it is and if that is true, well, congrats, and please share with us here how did you do this.

Quote
What is the best way to get a crypto related referral link seen?
AFAIK, the best way is to make your own review website and publish it anywhere to have good traffic that will result to get even thousands of referred users, but the problem is you need a community where you publish your website to lure users.  Try to have a look at the gambling section, I saw many threads there promoting their own gambling review website that has referral links.
