1201  Economy / Economics / Re: Taking loan during high inflation? on: May 14, 2022, 10:59:15 PM
But the question is what if you do not own enough money for investing? can you take a loan and invest?
Investing in a business is good that you'll surely see that there's ROI will come, though the risk is not that heavy since we know business will generate money that could possibly you can pay your debt.  As an expert says, many successful businessmen have taken debt to the banks and bought assets and let them generate profit until they will becomes successful and also paid the debt at the right time.

But this story is different from investing in crypto which is we don't know when we generate profit since the price is unpredictable, the period of time is unknown and the more time you'll wait the more you will pay the interest of your debt.  That's why the golden rule must exist, invest what you can afford and never take a loan.
1202  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Another signal why to avoid CEX.... on: May 13, 2022, 04:12:29 PM
Can someone enlighten me on this, we know that Binance has offered SAFU to their customers, do you think they can able to stand as what they've promised to their clients?

This is sad that we can't trust CEXs storing our assets in a long term, they're not safe at all because anytime they have a right to seize and freeze our assets on their platform.  Though we can't blame traders that they will need to use CEX because of the trading volume for a quick profit, it should always withdraw your fund from the exchange and don't let this sleep on their wallet.

Regarding Coinbase bankruptcy that was written on their ToS, just a warning, and maybe all CEXs will do the same, it's more worst if it will end up as an exit scam.
1203  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Wallet Download: How Do I Get Sending Address and Private Key? on: May 13, 2022, 03:50:13 PM
What kind of Bitcoin wallet?
I advise you that it must an open-source wallet like Electrum, mobile phone is prone to hack this isn't recommended.

Usually, sending address is shown on the "receive" tab button, just click it and it must be there your sending address.
In Electrum, there are 3 dots in the right corner of your mobile app, just click the "addresses" tab and you will find out your different addresses.

A private key is upon creation, you must save it or write it down on a piece of paper.
1204  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what is the best investment for the next halving? on: May 13, 2022, 03:39:23 PM
Hi, I'm new to bitcointalk.
I'm only 15 years old and I'm Brazilian, I want to know which is the best long-term investment.

for the next bitcoin halving Huh
You've already mentioned it, don't go far away.
Bitcoin was survived for how many years of existence since day one when it was created and until now still kicking on mainstream, do you think isn't a good opportunity if you'll have full support for Bitcoin?

Look at the previous price of Bitcoin based on Statista, we've hit twice the all-time high in the market price history and now, you think will not grow up after next halving?

this might relate, Cheesy

The future's not ours to see, Que sera sera

1205  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to proper trade in you asset in this market situation? on: May 10, 2022, 11:58:59 PM
Try to do these,
  • Hold your position or it's better to hold in a long term period
  • Diversify your portfolio
  • A chance to re-invest with a potential coin
  • The last option is what they called, "short-selling" during the market decline

IMO, the best thing and very safe option are to hold for a long-term position until the price will resist and back to the bullish trend.
1206  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin can save your life wherever you are on: May 10, 2022, 11:38:40 PM
There's a heavy reason why your friend's bank account freeze maybe because of these; (if your story is true)
  • Linked with suspicious or illegal activities such as Money laundering or terrorist funding.
  • Can freeze for unpaid taxes
  • Unpaid debt to any government services

But I've got your point here, be your own bank and yes, Bitcoin is a great opportunity where you have a full control with your fund but there are some minors consequences that you must to consider.  I don't think your friend will still think to spend his Bitcoin even if we're in the price correction stage which we saw the price of Bitcoin dropped too much.  That's the disadvantage of Bitcoin, the value of the dollar is vulnerable if you convert it into cash.
1207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: AN INTERESTING WAY TO INTRODUCE BITCOIN LEARNING TO OUR FUTURE GENERATION on: May 10, 2022, 10:55:20 PM
Kids around the age of 10 or 11 should find it easy to understand opening bank accounts in today's generation. Some of them may even have it already. I think that's better start than using piggy bank analogy since the process is done electronically. They also know about downloading apps for their social media and they shouldn't have a problem downloading bitcoin wallets on their mobile.
It's not quite good, at that age they should be guided by their parents.
And also, educating them about Bitcoin is a good idea but I think it's also in storing Bitcoin, and mobile wallets aren't a perfect place to hold Bitcoin, it should always be on a hardware wallet.

I like the OP's plan, sounds good and interesting but I think, it's good if for educational purposes only, understand the basic information on this technology and how it will work, and its usage on it.  That's it and there's no financial investment involved.

IMO, it should be 18 years old or above is the right way to teach them and introduce Bitcoin, 10 or 11 isn't the right age, they're still young at that age.
1208  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who’s itching to buy? on: May 10, 2022, 10:21:04 PM
(....)

What do you think about the current bear run, will it turn around? What price for bitcoin do you track? Will we get on the big green planes?

I'm thinking of buying a few more alts from the top 100. With everything being down in the last month they seem to be safer plays.
Just avoid catching falling knives. Not all dips are good to buy because you can't guarantee that that is already the bottom, because what if the dip will continue.
That's why some traders are intended to buy on a pullback or once the price is already starting to bounce, but still, if your entry is good on the dip, no problem, it's still good.
But this price seems low and good to buy, despite the fact that might be aren't knives
If you feel this way, just go and buy as much as you can but just make sure you invested with a high potential project which means it has progressed makes the price have a strong foundation in the market, and surely will not further drop beyond as Bitcoin price movement.

You can buy and then watch closely the market price movement, diversify your investment into a stable coin when see there's a continuous drop upon the price of purchase, or else, hold it for a long term which is a pretty safe plan.
1209  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which is the safest wallet to store coins and why? on: May 08, 2022, 10:39:47 PM
You should never store your crypto on any centralized exchange platform, they're always prone to hack and scams.

You can use temporarily the open-source software wallets but if you dont have a budget, if you can afford just go to the hardware wallet which is my preferred and consider the safest wallet among all wallets.  Hardware wallets have security features that protect while using this kind of wallet.

Few alternatives that are free and you can consider testing are:
- Atomic Dex, open source wallet and atomic swap exchange.
- Unstoppable wallet, open source multi-currency mobile wallet.
- Bisq, real decentralized opensource exchange that can serve as a wallet also.

That's a good suggestion, in addition, Hodl-hodl exchange also is a decentralized exchange that you can trust.
1210  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how can we get merit points? on: May 08, 2022, 10:14:45 PM
omg. 1 merit so i can post images. if you would be able to sell your merit points, you would have dumped most (if not all) by now.  Roll Eyes
It sounds like begging mate, be careful you'll get a negative tag on this.
That's not how the merit system works, you should learn how to value this and how you'll get hard work before you'll have even single merit.  Selling merit is also restricted on this forum and no one will risk their account just for that matter.

The only solution that you have is to purchase a copper membership, it almost has the same feature as a member rank, it's ideal for a member that has a business here that can able for them to post images for their announcement thread.  Through Bitcoin, you can hide your privacy, just use a non-custodial wallet because this isn't required KYC.

no problem, mate. i will make 50 new accounts until i will hit 1 merit point.
You deserve nothing on this, good luck with your plan and I think with your IP address you can create not less than 2 accounts, more than that you need to pay a small amount of Bitcoin for the evil fees.

Only abused IP ranges have to pay a fee. The fee is an anti-abuse measure, and it is not meant to be (and isn't) much of a source of revenue.

If any very-veteran members want to volunteer, I can give you the ability to whitelist users. (All Staff can already whitelist users, as well.) Perhaps then someone could create a topic like "List of email addresses for people who can whitelist you for free", which I could link-to on the evil fee page. However, these IPs have evil for a reason. If it was sufficient for them to just solve a captcha or something, I'd have them do that. Before whitelisting someone, you have to do something to be pretty sure that they're not evading a ban and just going to get banned again. You may get the impression from complaints on the forum that everyone hits the fee and it's never warranted, but this is selection bias: the fee is more rare, and the vast majority of accounts that hit it should not be whitelisted.
1211  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Crypto wallets on a raspberry PI, anyone? on: May 07, 2022, 11:59:33 PM
The price of a raspberry pi seems the same as in a hardware wallet which is you don't have a problem for sure about configuration, it's plug and plays when it arrives upon purchasing.

But anyway, I saw in this ANN thread that there's a service Bitcoin full node OS called "ROKOS" and a discussion thread, I don't know how things work but it should you must have a bit research on it.

1212  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to know if my new topic has been posted by someone before on: May 07, 2022, 11:22:27 PM
I tend to agree with all replies above and that's right, spend time searching before posting or creating topics.

That's why isn't ideal for newbies to create a thread because you don't know if it's already existed topic.  Spend time first reading sticky topics or pinned topics above for every board because it has important content that should each new members learn.  Spend at least 1 week or more before deciding to post anything to avoid violating the rules.

BTW, I like the behavior of this newbie, it cares about forum rules which is a good start to being an established member.
1213  Other / Meta / Re: OP posting easier idetifcation system on: May 07, 2022, 02:24:28 PM
I tend to agree with the suggestion.
Sometimes it needs to scroll up when you forgot the OP name, it will help us if you don't want to memorize first the OP username.  Though the idea isn't necessary much at least, it's hassle-free for us as a reader how to easily catch up or determine the OP replies.

But the question is, how to apply such a system to SMF which the forum used.

Alternative suggestion.
I've been currently using the chrome BPIP Extension to add further features that I liked, it's possible to add this feature on the BPIP chrome extension too while waiting for the result of the OP's proposal?
1214  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Few Steps To Avoid Losses In Trading. on: May 07, 2022, 01:53:39 PM
3) Master Your Trading Strategy: Traders who make huge profits in trading have one secret which they do not share that is their trading stategy. They master one trading pattern and they work with it, when you master your strategy, you will trade with confidence you will jump around looking for signals or analysis before trading.

Note: Stick to what works for you.
I tend to agree with all you've mentioned above but the number 3 that I quoted above seems unrealistic to me.  Mastering your trading strategy won't work because there's no permanent trading strategy that you can rely on.  Once you've failed twice or thrice, just leave that strategy and find another one, this will help you to avoid further losses.

In addition to your list, setting a stop-loss per trading activity will help you to avoid huge losses, this will minimize your loss.  We can't predict well what will happen to the market and where it will lead the price and remember that trading isn't about profit, it's a need to gain experience too.
1215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Wallet Recommendation? on: May 03, 2022, 11:59:16 PM
Electrum LTC is worth it, change your OS if you really want to use it, it has a wide variety of desktop formats, including Windows, Linux, and MacOS which I think is a very common OS that we used.

Any litecoin wallet you can recommend for this?
Try to look at this article that might help you, it includes the pros and cons there.

IMO, LTC has the lowest fee to transfer compared to Bitcoin.
1216  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin price is falling? on: May 03, 2022, 11:42:25 PM
I have been thinking of the possible reasons of the bitcoin falling down. Since I am not an expert on the Currency I cannot predict or give any reason. That is why I want to know the reasons. Please if anyone can tell me I will appreciate. Thanks.
It will remain unpredictable, no one can give an exact answer to this question, even themselves calling experts in predicting the price but that's impossible.

But we have here a guess, a theoretical explanation of why Bitcoin falling down and as a basic answer, it's because of the demand and supply which have an impact on the price.  When the demand increase it's obvious the price of Bitcoin increase.  Using technical analysis also could broadcast the possible price of Bitcoin and other cryptos.

I suggest to you don't look up the market in a short term, just invest in the purpose of long-term holding.  It makes you paranoid thinking about them so much, forgot that you've to hold Bitcoin and comeback when there's an ATH you've heard, that's might a good solution.
1217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who missed the good old days of Paper wallets on: May 03, 2022, 11:20:42 PM
The reason why Paper wallet was left behind other wallets (HD wallet or any open-source wallet) and there's no one to use this is just that it's very crucial for newbies to use especially if you don't have an idea how to use it.  The odds of losing your fund are very high upon using or creating this, that's why most of them preferred to use totally air-gapped wallet if you want to store it offline or much better hardware wallets that are safe because it has a security feature.

IMO, there's nothing that can beat a Hardware wallet which is you can choose which one you like.  [BIG LIST] Hardware wallets (80+)
1218  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Signal to Start Trading and the Signal to Close Trading on: May 03, 2022, 10:52:46 PM
Trading is not so very difficult as it was told. But the most crucial difficult part in trading is when to enter the market and when to Close the market. So when do you think one can buy or sell (enter) the market? Using the candle sticks to predict.
There, fixed for you.

Do you think trading isn't difficult?  If that is so, there are too many of them have rich because of trading and could maybe everyone do trading.
Trading is very crucial, it will wipe out your entire balance if you don't know to perform it carefully and you don't know how to deal with the market especially as you've told when to enter the market, everything there is unpredictable, there's no clear direction of the market price and that's why we have a different tool to predict the market price.  Technical and Fundamental analysis.
1219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Bitcoin teaching approach on: May 03, 2022, 10:22:11 PM
I see no problem with the teaching approach to them, just explain everything first the pros and the cons of Bitcoin because it's very crucial to them that might they become confused about this very volatile asset.  Just only give the awareness either on the good side or on the bad side, don't force them to adopt it, as you've said, let their imagination do the rest and if they are interested they will find a way for sure.

Even though you have no computers, you can do it maybe on your mobile phone or tablet, a short video explaining Bitcoin's basic information will give awareness to them.

Here's a simple video on youtube that will enlighten them about Bitcoin and Blockchain and how it works.

1220  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin may likely pull back to 35k on: May 02, 2022, 11:32:48 PM
I’d be very happy if we were to avoid going below $35,000 again. Unfortunately I think we will go under $30,000 at some point in the next 18 months. We won’t go below $25,000 though so anything under $30,000 is a must buy.
Your speculation might be right and hopefully, we will see a sign that the Bitcoin price will resist at the end of this year but based on my Crystal ball which is I used this for how many years to guess the Bitcoin price, I felt disappointed because it shows negativity about the production of the price and I want to break it and throw it into the wall.

I'm still being positive about my prediction and I hope my crystal ball is wrong since it's unpredictable the Bitcoin price it could be possible that there will still a new ATH this year and I hoping for that.
