1181  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Rising Popularity of Crypto and It's Growth on: May 23, 2022, 11:27:25 PM
Quantity alone isn't good way to measure growth, considering most token/cryptocurrency is copy/paste of more popular one.
This.

Lots of them are useless and just made for testing, new crypto dev trying to build their first projects but most of them are just spam and made to scam only few have use case both real life and virtual
I tend to agree with this.

Even though the concept of the project has existed but still they're making hype on it just to become a well-known coin.
We have witnessed here different scam projects, a hyped coin that usually happened on meme coins.  Look at how many fork Bitcoin projects exist even though it was copied/pasted to the Bitcoin.

From what I've seen here that most people who have been a victim of this are those naive and greedy people.
1182  Economy / Exchanges / Re: New bitcoin fork on Yobit? This is another shitcoin on: May 23, 2022, 10:56:40 PM
People who know Yobit exchange very well will not try even to register on that platform.
It's commonly known as a house of shitcoins and other hype coins that going to exit scam.  There are a lot of coins there that have a shady behavior like pump and dump coins, so I think there's no point in trusting them.

Anyway, all Bitcoin fork has been proven they are all scam even though which exchange it is listed maybe it is good if we stay away on this.
1183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What approach do you expect from the Government if your Country adopt bitcoin? on: May 23, 2022, 03:39:32 PM
IMO, the approach might be failed but the adoption was been helped by Bitcoin that have given awareness to the people.
It might be expected that there's always a regulation in every country under each jurisdiction, though they have their own wallet called "Chivo" but due to awareness and being knowledgeable, people can still use non-custodial wallets for storing their Bitcoin.

Maybe our government still studying Bitcoin adoption but fortunately, they recognized it as an alternative way of payment or alternative to our local currency.  If one day it will happen that they will announce Bitcoin legal tender, IMO, I'm expecting that they will also create their own wallet the same as El Salvador did.
1184  Other / Meta / Re: Happy Bitcoin Pizza day on: May 23, 2022, 03:17:05 PM
It might not late to greet everyone a Happy Bitcoin Pizza Day.

Thinking about the huge amount that Jerco's received from Laszlo on that day in exchange for two Pizza, but unfortunately, Jeco's didn't hoard that Bitcoin he spend that Bitcoin as he said.

Laszlo is a true legend that proves Bitcoin's first transaction made, we should thank him and also Jeremy Sturdivant aka “Jercos”.
1185  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What equipments can use to mine BTC with power cost is 0.15€/Kwt? on: May 22, 2022, 11:42:18 PM
ASICs are more powerful than GPU, so they have better high-quality specs for better mining rigs.
So I'd rather prefer to choose ASIC mining rigs than the GPUs and the power consumption would be 3,250 watts for the 95 TH/s (90-95 Terahashes per second), that's an Antminer S19 power consumption.

For the GPU, mining in altcoins and what coin could be mined.  Here's a list.

1186  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: EW traders telegram channel on: May 22, 2022, 11:20:58 PM
It's a good idea, but getting those members is not going to be easy. Most people want to learn from other people's ideas.
The possible problem would be this, as we know about the background of Telegram social media, there's a bunch of scammers or let's say, a house of scammers.  Though the concept is good I'm afraid it will end up in a pump and dump group which is the member will rely on other's opinion only and becomes the lazy one.

I'm willing to send the channel name via private message since I want to select the users that are really willing to be active rather to have a ton of just curious people Smiley
Curiosity is always, especially for those people who have experienced scams.
However, good luck with your plan and I think, you will have others to catch attention if you'll drop it here some proof about your group, and yes, it should be good if there's an admin in the group, it will become hot to the eye of scammers.
1187  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Educational: Bitcoin is technically independent from Altcoins on: May 22, 2022, 11:02:36 PM
It is independent from altcoins but those altcoins are literally dependent on btc.
I believed in this!
When everything Bitcoin price has dropped the price, all altcoins do the same swinging their price.  The fact because in all altcoins they have paired Bitcoin upon trading but Bitcoin didn't have paired altcoins.

I tend to agree and that's right, Bitcoin is independent of altcoins.
Since you're talking like food it might be Bitcoin here the same like rice and altcoins are those dishes that have different tastes some are nutritious and some are not.  Cheesy
1188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could inheriting Bitcoin from love ones be that difficult? on: May 22, 2022, 10:43:29 PM
I tend to agree above that timelock/locktime would be the best alternative solution when you pass away so that your family inherits your Bitcoin.
But the disadvantage is there's no specific time that they can able to use your Bitcoin because it's like a restriction mechanism that you can only spend Bitcoin with a specific date that you can set.  That's the problem there I think.

A private vault with a private key inside might be the best solution to inheriting your asset but you need this to trust them or it's better to find a trusted lawyer for this who will organize your wealth when you were passed away.

If you've planned for this, it's better to teach them or give them awareness about crypto while it's early, so that it will not be difficult for them when they will inherit your Bitcoin.
1189  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware DO NOT GET SCAMMED: Recovery wallet scam! on: May 21, 2022, 11:50:38 PM
Be vigilant as always.

An old way to scam people but still working until now, it makes sense if you smell a scam then don't let this happen.
If you're a fan of collecting free give away always have a separate email address and wallet on it than your personal wallet, or much better never to join that because there's no really giving free money these days.

Sometimes our greed will put us in danger and if we're in a bounty campaign, we're prone to scam we should remember always this and stay vigilant at all times.
1190  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wallet & KYC on: May 17, 2022, 11:59:23 PM
I did a quick research on edge wallet and found out that they had a non KYC option some years back.
AFAIK, if you live in these countries, the United States of America and Canada they do require to have a KYC process due to their jurisdiction.
If OP lives in this country maybe this is the reason why there's a KYC integration that is required.

There are too many options to hide your identity or to mask your privacy, used as mentioned above the decentralized exchange and transfer to the open-source non-custodial wallet.  I think you need to read their TOS first before using them.
I'd rather recommend using Electrum than the Edge wallet.
1191  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reason why I put all my money in Bitcoin as a newbie on: May 17, 2022, 11:37:56 PM
Bitcoin has never crashed or a billion coins getting minted out of no we're and dump into the market just like Luna tereUSTD did, so for your peace of mind I advise newbies to rely only on highly decentralized crypto Bitcoin. Until you learn enough to decide which risk to take and which not to.
Considering it was never crashed and turned the price to zero but you must understand the volatile nature of Bitcoin.  You didn't predict when the correction will occur and will it will pump, so the best thing that you can do is wait for the perfect opportunity to have a profit.  So my question now is, are you willing to wait for that perfect time that will come?  The comment above was right, invest only what you can afford, an amount that you're willing to spend, not the source of your daily need.

it would be very interesting to see some analysis of BTC vs FIAT in the last 2 or 3 years.
Next 2 or 3 years, I am expecting bitcoin to hit all-time-high above 100k.  Cheesy
Or more than that, it will remain unpredictable.  But the price you've mentioned seems not possible, it could be also next year.
1192  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Did you live through the last bear market ? If so, what did you learn ? on: May 17, 2022, 11:10:50 PM
Bitcoin is expected to hit a bottom of 11K by some credible experts, so buy now and cry later kind of thing.
It's FUD news which I really hate, we're already at the bottom in the $25k price and the $11k is unlikely will not happen and I don't believe it.
But you're right, it's now the time to accumulate as many as you can, soon the reward will have come.  However, I didn't easy to convince investing in altcoins even if it has a good and promising network.  Time will come they will become a useless coin when someone better than them will come.

So am I reading it wrong ? Let me know.
You're totally wrong if you don't stick to Bitcoin.
Altcoins are very risky to invest in than Bitcoin, if you want less risk investment, just go to Bitcoin nothing else.
1193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kwik Trip To Install 800 New Bitcoin ATM on: May 17, 2022, 10:50:37 PM
Total number of Bitcoin ATMs / Tellers in the United States: 33335
No wonder the total Bitcoin ATMs in the United States have become more prominent and might in this business industry there's a big profit waiting ahead.
Kwik Trip has a large branch in any country in the US and maybe they think that having a business like this is in demand.

Those people who are concerned about their privacy might didn't want these Bitcoin ATMs but for those who want to have Bitcoin very quick or fastest purchasing, maybe this is the best news for them.  So, it has still an advantage in the crypto space.
1194  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A question bordering me and need opinions as a newbie on: May 15, 2022, 11:52:51 PM
..just want to know what you guys think about bitcoin as a currency or an asset.
They've function both, it's either a currency or an asset but the main goal of the creator is to become a currency, on the other hand, people were found a way of making a profit by holding and making it an asset.  It is the same as gold but the difference is gold can be physically touched and can be seen while Bitcoin composed of a number in a computer code, or a digital asset.  It can be a currency or an asset.

Because of its wide adoption, people use it as a currency and it isn't a surprise people use it as a currency, and many establishments or companies accept it as payment.  In fact, there are a few countries already announced Bitcoin is a legal tender in their place.
1195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Newbie Question: Fees for Long-Term BitCoin Investment on: May 15, 2022, 11:35:12 PM
For the low fees crypto exchange from fiat to crypto might be these.
  • Coinbase
  • Binance
  • Crypto.com

But as they said, it depends on your jurisdiction because all of these are required KYC verification.

For longer term holding is RobinHood the way to go or do their raised prices and spreads make it a worse alternative?
Remember always this golden rule in crypto, "Not your keys, not your coin" it's better to transfer it to a hardware wallet if you want for the long-term holding.
1196  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question about Become Newbies to High Rank Member on: May 15, 2022, 10:56:35 PM
Achieving a high rank on bitcointalk is not an easy task. You have to take the time to earn it. If you do not know how to do so, have a look at these bitcointalk threads to get you started.

Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ
The first step could be this one.

Read it carefully and familiarize the Bitcoinatalk rules and guidelines so that you'll know and didn't violate the rules.
Copy-pasting to any outside articles and posting them here in the forum is a mortal sin, there's no second chance if you'll offend this rule.  So, it's better to read the rules first if you want to start and the key to rank up.

Since you're a newbie, I advise you to spend at least 2 weeks or a month reading the important threads on this forum, it's a pinned topic or called sticky threads in every section that you visit, and that's is a very important reminder that you should know.

Good luck and see you around OP.
1197  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto signals without service fees on: May 15, 2022, 10:39:00 PM
So I may ask, what is the benefit that you may have running a service for free?  IMO, it's wasting of time, isn't it?

Don't trust this free service, it's more likely it will end up into a pump and dump group which is pumping a shitcoin and then making benefits upon selling them.  There's no crypto signal that gives accurate results, especially this free service that I doubt only makes money when they gathered many members of the group.

Just stay away from this group, instead, making your own research will give true benefits as a trader.  Dont waste your time with this group.
1198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you knew the founder of Bitcoin, would you still use it? on: May 15, 2022, 10:25:08 PM

What if it was created by persons like Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, etc. These are the people who don't respect their customers' privacy.

Bitcoin is decentralized and designed with the top priority of providing user privacy, so you don't need to worry too much because these people will definitely not be the creators of bitcoin. Satoshi has chosen to remain anonymous for over 10 years now and I see no reason for him to reappear.
Whoever he/she is, he will definitely never come back, Satoshi's return I don't know how it will affect bitcoin but if he goes out in public, the first thing is that he will be in danger. So whoever he is they will continue to hide their identity.
I tend to agree with the line that I bolded above.
If real satoshi is alive, he/they will never think of revealing his identity, there are too many reasons why he must remain anonymous, his life becomes in danger, and might the government chase him for the currency that he created, as we know the government always wants regulations.

It's us the users, the ones who created Bitcoin has nothing can do about the Bitcoin price and its adoption.  I think it's a small portion of Bitcoin that satoshi has than the actual holders.

Maybe let's respect the decision of satoshi to remain hidden and let's accept that he/they will never come back.
1199  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: blockchain.com error on: May 14, 2022, 11:59:18 PM
I didn't know if already tried this, a hard refresh (Ctrl + F5) might be your browser has a problem, I have doubt also that you were already aware of this.

Trying to reach out their support is wast of time to be honest.
AFAIK, it's your luck if they will answer quickly but usually, no one gets answered from them, this is their common problem its a lack of CS.

I tend to agree with all responses above, this wallet isn't worth it.
It's better to export your wallet to Electrum if you have a coin left there.  There's a lot of thread in a marketplace section (Service Discussion > Web Wallets) about blockchain.com, they are buggy wallets that are not worth it to use.
1200  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Warning! on: May 14, 2022, 11:47:54 PM
If you are using metamask on your pc, then you all are warned to be careful visiting etherscan, dextools, coingecko etc.
Or just don't use shitty Metamask wallet while you are browsing internet, or even better stop using ethereum wth all other shitcoin tokens and you will be much safer.
This is really the source of the problem, and scammers are only building on top of this bad software and making use of many bugs to steal funds from people.
I would uninstall metamask and all similar extensions from main browser, and only use dedicated browser for this.
I tend to agree with this and it's good advice, to separate a PC that dedicates to this and doesn't use your main PC that your extension wallet installed.
But it doesn't make sense upon visiting the site you will connect your browser wallet without a reason for using it, so it's common sense to us to smell the scam attempt.  Altcoins are prone to scams, and also scammers day by day become desperate of stealing naive people's fund.

BTW, thanks for the heads up!
They targeted newbies because they know it has low skills when it comes to handling wallet, especially those bounty hunters, but it might it's a small chunk that they will scam because usually those who visit that site most are bounty hunters.
