Have any of you found a decent anti-DDOS plan from anyone else than Cloudflare?  I've been looking and am ok with ~$500-$1000 a month, but $5,000 is just too much.

(legit question, i don't get paid for sig)

Take a look at incapsula, they have a pretty good reputation and support it for a very reasonable price.   (I personally haven't tried it though, but I do intend to)
2062  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE.ME - NEW GAME RELEASED! REGISTERED CASINO. 1 YEAR OLD. on: July 22, 2015, 06:12:56 PM
Actually I'm wrong. It seems they have introduced a new tier since I last looked.

Free ($0) and Pro ($20/month) can't proxy websockets.

Business ($200/month) and Enterprise ($5000/month) can.

Interestingly they still haven't updated their feature comparison:
https://www.cloudflare.com/plans

which shows business as being ineligible. There's been times when I'd have been willing to fork out $200/month for websockets support, but $5000 a month isn't really feasible.

I'd like to apologize to all the people who got spammed with password reset requests. Please note they are completely harmless, it's just some asshat spamming them to troll, but your accounts are perfectly safe and they do not leak email addresses. We've pushed up a change to use (and enforce) recaptchas on all end-point including the forgot password.
2064  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE.ME - NEW GAME RELEASED! REGISTERED CASINO. 1 YEAR OLD. on: July 22, 2015, 02:51:58 PM
I guess it depends what you mean by 'a lot' but their cheapest non-free plan lets you proxy websockets.

You sure? I spoke to a sales rep a few months ago, asking for purely this feature and they quoted me at $5k/month. Checking their feature list, it's still only listed for enterprise customers.

I think incapsula has reasonable plans for websockets, but I haven't yet had the time to give it a try.
2065  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustabit.com -- The Social Gambling Game (formerly moneypot.com) on: July 22, 2015, 01:07:02 PM
More big winners last night, Almighty recovers from his -1 BTC slump to finish the night at +13.

And bustabit continues to be one of the most popular gambling sites with wagers now reaching 112.4 thousand bitcoins (31M USD at current prices) and a historical house edge just under a 1/3rd of a percent!

2066  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling sites' max payout on: July 20, 2015, 01:24:59 PM
My question is clear and simple- Why do most dice sites have a max payout of 9900x while, satoshidice , being a dice site as well, has 64000x max payout?

Take a site like primedice, there's 10,000 discrete options  [0.00, 99.99] so the most risky bet is having a 1 in 10,000 chance of winning. With a house edge of 1%, that means the most you can win is 9900x

The more discrete options (i.e. values after the decimal) the more possible risky bet possible thus higher payout. I think JD for instance uses 4 digits after the decimal, which means the riskiest bet would be a 1-in-a-million, which would allow them to have a max payout of 990000x

On a side note, before you play on satoshidice, you might want to checkout the latest in their thread
2067  Economy / Gambling / Re: How much more would you gamble if you found a provably fair EV+ casino? on: July 19, 2015, 02:25:24 PM
How much would you gamble in this hypothetical EV+ casino?

Depends, +EV is overrated. Like for instance if game required me to bet $1 to have a 1 in a billion chance of winning 2 billion dollars, it would be insanely +EV, but I still wouldn't do more than a few bets.

2068  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot.com :: The bitcoin gambling wallet on: July 19, 2015, 02:17:45 PM
Just refreshed it, which will show with updated nonces and what not:

https://www.moneypot.com/proof-of-liabilities.txt

It's now registering a total of 238 BTC of liabilities, which is more than enough covered by cold address that arallmuus posted.
2069  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot.com :: The bitcoin gambling wallet on: July 19, 2015, 02:14:23 PM
The proof of liabilities has not been updated for a while now, what is up? It shows around 179btc when then site bankroll on the investment tab has been showing 228btc. The daily nounce has not been updated either...

Please advice.

Ah, glad someone's paying attention. During our last server migration, I forgot to migrate the cron job that refreshes it nightly. Doing a manual refresh now, and tomorrow I'll do the cron =)

Currently watching a PRO Match, and left from gambling... I came back to make a few small dust bets.. And I noticed my balance was -300k...

Interesting

Waiting on Ryan's Response.

As I mentioned on chat, I'm unable to handle support requests publicly. But from my understand you deposited 23k bits and turned it into an amazing 300k  (13x your money! Well done!) before stopping to watch a PRO Match, where someone without interruption remotely accessed your computer to continue placing bets on your account before busting the entire amount.

I try to treat all support requests seriously, but as a rule, even in the case of a hacked account or compromised computer I am unable to offer refunds. I know this sucks, but it's just economically infeasible for me to cover, or reliably detect such cases. I recommend using a strong, unique password and good anti-malware practices.

Congratulations to Yna for 1,000,000 games played, meaning he's been in over 62% of games that ever been played!  Shocked

As a special prize, he was not billed for server and db usage and given the chance to do a 1.1x bet with a guarantee of a full-refund if it lost. Fortunately, he won: https://www.bustabit.com/game/1635383
2072  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustabit.com -- The Social Gambling Game (formerly moneypot.com) on: July 17, 2015, 01:50:08 PM
Like how I can check my losses can we check the profit/loss for the site?

As arallmuus said, you can go to https://www.bustabit.com/stats  but there's also

Code:
!profit <user> <time>

e.g.:
Code:
Ryan: !profit rapetor 1d
Shiba: 982922.39 bits

or you can search me (the site) stats:

Code:
Ryan: !profit ryan 7d
Shiba: -10522318.12 bits

If you guys like whale watching, or playing with them: now's the perfect chance.  And they've been doing well too, in fact. Players have netted a cumulative 12 BTC from the site just last night, and been able to keep bankroll in check for the last week (even after thousands of bitcoins wagered) =)

Quote
11:22 rapetor: !median 5000
11:22 Shiba: Median over last 5000 games: 2.04x

Pretty incredible!  (The median game crash over an infinite amount of games should be about 1.97x)
2074  Economy / Gambling / Re: Good and relatively safe dice strategy? on: July 15, 2015, 03:15:16 PM
Actually, contrary to popular belief a properly designed martingale sequence will out-perform an all-in bet (assuming a fixed house edge, like dice).

Here is an an maths-oriented example:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=939776.msg10529739#msg10529739

The intuitive explanation for why this works, is it allows you to stop gambling earlier thus minimizing the amount you wager. The less you wager, the less your expected loss and the more probability of winning.
2075  Economy / Gambling / Re: Quantum Dice - House edge as low as 0.01%!!! Lowest house edge ever!! on: July 15, 2015, 02:09:06 AM
At the moment this is just an experiment and I can't afford a domain name yet, as soon as I can, I'll migrate the site there.

Sent you a tip, you should be able to buy a domain on namecheap with that =)

If you need help setting it up, contact me on slack and I can explain how to do it.
2076  Economy / Gambling / Re: PocketRocketsCasino.eu - Most trusted BTC Casino, 4038 invested, 327 Max payout! on: July 15, 2015, 01:47:18 AM
If you bet 2x kelly of your fixed bankroll long term, you are guaranteed to bust!

heheh. That's fun to write a toy simulator for:

Code:
var kelly = 1;

function roll() {
  return Math.random() > 0.495 ? 1 : -1;
}

var wins = 0;
var loses = 0;
function run() {

  var bankroll = 1;

  for (var j = 1; true; ++j) {

    var bet = bankroll * 0.01 * kelly;
    bankroll += bet * roll();

    if (bankroll > 1e40) {
      wins++;
      console.log('Won all the money in the world. Won: ', wins, ' Busted: ', loses);
      return rerun();
    }
    if (bankroll < 1e-40) {
      loses++;
      console.log('Busted! Won: ', wins, ' Busted: ', loses);
      return rerun();
    }

  }
}

function rerun() {
  setTimeout(run, 0);
}

run();

Sample output of running with a 1x kelly:

Code:
...
Won all the money in the world. Won:  189  Busted:  0
Won all the money in the world. Won:  190  Busted:  0
Won all the money in the world. Won:  191  Busted:  0
...

Sample output of running with a 2x kelly:
Code:
Busted! Won:  38  Busted:  83
Won all the money in the world. Won:  39  Busted:  83
Busted! Won:  39  Busted:  84
Busted! Won:  39  Busted:  85
Busted! Won:  39  Busted:  86
Busted! Won:  39  Busted:  87
Busted! Won:  39  Busted:  88
Won all the money in the world. Won:  40  Busted:  88

Sample output of running with a 3x kelly:
Code:
Busted! Won:  0  Busted:  191
Busted! Won:  0  Busted:  192
Busted! Won:  0  Busted:  193
Busted! Won:  0  Busted:  194
Busted! Won:  0  Busted:  195

Why you make a new thread what was the problem to post in old one?
i dont think we need a new thread to post these updates

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1090350.0

I think he did it to start an unmoderated thread, which is a good move. I always feel uneasy reading moderated threads, not knowing what's been hidden.

Well done! You're a machine =)

The site seems to keep improving by the day. I must say, I love the style of art you used on the OP promotional graphic.

Any mods/devs online here? Have a deposit that still says not confirmed after well over 5 confirms from the network..and no, it hasnothing to do with tx fees or lack thereof...

Hit me up on support: https://www.bustabit.com/support  I get to most issues within a few minutes (if I'm awake)

If it's a deposit, it's unfortunately largely out of the control of bustabit. Only the miners are able to confirm deposits. Most of the time, the only thing they care about is fees. So if you have enough fees, it's possible you're spending from a transaction that doesn't have enough fees or priority and it waits on that one to confirm first.

One of the craziest wins I've seen yet:

That's right, +14 BTC over hist last three bets. And then interrupted his vow of silence to post the txid of his (instant) withdrawal!
