2062  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] BTCINVEST - Low risk investment fund | Market cap: 2000+ BTC on: July 25, 2013, 04:34:08 PM
BTCINVEST prohibits US citizens or residents from purchasing shares. We're unable to enforce this however on a technical level because of BitFunder's limited options to asset issuers.

lol, salvaged one. Was looking at my laptop cords.

Time to start hashing!
2066  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: July 25, 2013, 11:13:19 AM
My Avalon has shipped without a power cord. I cannot find any cords that fit.
2067  Bitcoin / Hardware / Avalon Power Cord. on: July 25, 2013, 11:10:41 AM
I've received 2 Avaloans with a 850w PSU inside. I can't find any power cords that plugs into this avalon. I'm from Australia.

Where can I get the proper power cords?
2068  Bitcoin / Important Announcements / "Danger: Malware Ahead!"? (resolved) on: July 25, 2013, 10:39:24 AM
Chrome has been blocking any site that embeds Coinurl advertisements for malware:

If you have coinurl ads, remove it for the moment before you wonder why your traffic dropped by 1/3.

Google no longer flags CoinURL as malware.
2069  Economy / Service Discussion / coinurl.com considered malware, sites using it are being blocked by chrome. on: July 25, 2013, 10:33:04 AM
Got this from an user: Confirmed by multiple users:

2070  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Inputs.io | Instant Payments | Easy API | Secure Wallet | Offchain | No fees on: July 25, 2013, 10:20:08 AM
TF, what do you think about a new feature for inputs? What if under the receive section had the option to generate a small vanity address. Like, no bigger than 4 characters. Something that would take a very minimal amount of computing power. People could be limited to how many they could generate per day/week/month. This would allow people to have vanity addresses without importing the private key, because as a shared wallet the coins are moved around and two people with the private key would not work. Tell me what you think about this. Also, maybe the option to delete or at least archive receiving addresses?
There are already usernames.

Gah, I suppose so.

Also TF, maybe you might want to add a check on the GPG fingerprint

For instance, I put in my fingerprint, but before it activates GPG, it asks me to decrypt a message so it knows I will be able to do this to login.

Good idea. GPG is supposed to be for advanced users only, but some safety proofing can't hurt.
2071  Other / Off-topic / Re: quit sending pizzas to me on: July 25, 2013, 10:09:35 AM
Joey obviously is a big a**hole and deserves all kinds of shit, but sending pizzas his way is hurting the wrong people: pizza maker and delivery driver.
Whoever is doing this, stop it.
If you can't come up with legit ways of pestering Joey without annoying innocent third parties, just leave him alone.
His life is already pretty miserable, and it will most likely get worse over time by his own actions.

Onkel Paul

Blame BTCTalkAccounts. They have "pizza days".

I'm sure the password is correct because I've saved it with LastPass, and never had a problem with it.

We hash passwords client side, get the password from your password manager. If it is the already hashed one (64 hex characters), email it to me and I'll give you access. If it is not the hashed one, enter it manually and login.

Please remember to follow the "if you lose your password or PIN, the only way to recover access to your account is via the recovery key" when you sign up.

I suggest using KeePassX anyway.
2073  Economy / Securities / Re: SEC Charges Bitcoin Savings and Trust (BTCST) as Ponzi Scheme on: July 25, 2013, 12:18:30 AM
yeah, he didn't say that, so stop acting like you had a valid reason to panic when someone is just discussing a HYPOTHETICAL

And, IMO, this whole discussion is completely overreacting to something that is unlikely to happen, ie. the SEC taking notice of bitcoin exchanges.

But, thanks for the panic, I do appreciate cheap share prices, guys!  Grin
You are delusional if you don't think the SEC is reading this thread right now.

They regulate securities exchanges.
2074  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Satoshi Poker starting to go viral on: July 25, 2013, 12:04:25 AM
At 12500 shares per BTC, SatoshiPoker would be valued at 8000 BTC. It's not sane to value a small Bitcoin poker startup that much, especially when you are in the US and uses a US host, rack space.

I may be interested when to move out of the US (and for a much lower price)
2075  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BlockChain.info - Privacy and Anonymity on: July 24, 2013, 12:57:58 PM
Send shared seems broken with Blockchain.info. I'm sure piuk will fix it eventually.

Why would you use a wallet that destroys your privacy in the first place (change address reuse) and then sells it back to you for 0.5%? Some web wallets are ethical and offer you free mixing right off the bat.

2076  Economy / Gambling / Re: Proven Strategy: Try your own luck (nakowa/celeste) on: July 24, 2013, 12:25:35 PM
Proven Strategy!!!111

1. Find your lucky number. Everyone has a lucky number, and finding it is about looking deep into your heart. My lucky number is 111, but yours will differ.
2. The double of your lucky number is important. This strategy involves using your lucky number, and the multiple of your double number.
3. Only bet on 49.5% for this strategy
4. Wins and losses happen in waves. When you feel like you will have an incoming streak, bet the double of your lucky number. When you feel like the streak is going to go sour, go with your base lucky number.
5. By changing your bet amounts, you are able to influence how much you win.
6. Throw away losing streaks by betting 0.01 when you have a series of losses, and go back to betting your lucky number when you are in the green again.

If you think building an exchange is just following a recipe and adding water, you're wrong.
2080  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: coinchat sucks on: July 24, 2013, 09:08:26 AM
If you spam and don't obey the CC rules of course you'll get banned.

Of course I accept that but here's the rub.  I NEVER SPAMMED there, I was banned for something that i may or may not do in the future...
If there is a very high likehold of you spamming in the future you will be banned. I suggest registering for the account supa9 here and see how long it takes for you to be banned (even if you never did anything wrong).
