2061  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Met Beautiful Young Asian Woman On Dating Site To Teach Me Trading on: June 17, 2023, 12:12:02 PM
Thank you for taking the time to read my post and respond.
I've learned that there are fake crypto websites and if you deposit money into them you will never get your money back.
I'm assuming the website she uses is one of them.
Good that you've realized it. While reading your story, I've already knew it that it's a scam attempt to you. Didn't you know that even you had someone a video call/chat, there are software that can easily fool you out like split cam and AI voices, etc.
These software can make you feel that you're really talking to a woman that's a lot of years younger than you. It's obvious that they want you to trade on that platform that they've made and once you've deposited there, that's the time for you to say goodbye to the money that you've deposited. I don't also understand why that strategy has been told to you to sell at exact 60 seconds after your purchase because it doesn't make sense.
2062  Economy / Economics / Re: Lucky you do not sell to blackrock on: June 17, 2023, 10:43:11 AM
A few day ago blackrock happy was buy cheap many btc in the market. Now, you are regret to sold it to big company which will be resold back to you with high price in the next years.
I don't want to pressure those that have sold their bitcoins earlier. There could be some circumstances that they're facing and that's their very option which is to sell.

But why sell to a company when you can sell individually or to an exchange? Why does Blackrock not go into an exchange to buy instead of buying privately from individuals? Was there some kind of discount or something?
I think of what he's trying to say is in general of those who have sold and these whales are the ones who will take it. Regardless of where you sell it, it goes to the market and these are the takers which is BlackRock is one of them.
2063  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Quote prices in Bitcoin or Satoshi on: June 17, 2023, 08:52:17 AM
I am more used to the usage of decimals/Bitcoin than using the satoshi term in pricing. But whatever you're used to and just always quote the other one so you get to show both prices in both terms and pricing. And running that experiment on that domain, you'll see on how the traffic is reacting to the prices and how they will address it to you. I think you can take time until a month or two and see how demand goes and what they're addressing and which is more usable for your visitors.

2064  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How free crypto wallet devs make money ? on: June 16, 2023, 11:49:30 PM
Aside from advertising and potential integration and partnership, I think that they're also earning a bit of percentage from the fixed or customized fee that users pay them.

Thank you for your answers, even though we don't really know. Because in the case of crypto wallets, the devs have quite a responsibility in terms of security. It's not really the same level of responsibility as a bug on candy crush ...
You're right, this wallet has got millions of users and I think with all of those years that they've operated they've managed to earn a lot of profits from every source that they can.

So what's going to happen with Atomic? Who's going to reimburse users ?
It could be some reserve funds of theirs but whether they've got a lot or none if they're not willing to refund it, they won't. But there goes the TOS that they've got.

8. Cap on Liability.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL ATOMIC WALLET BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE SERVICES EXCEEDING $50.

9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Atomic against any claims, damages, losses or legal fees incurred due to Your use (or misuse) of Atomic.
2065  Economy / Economics / Re: 85% of AI start-ups will fail within 3 years. on: June 16, 2023, 10:43:20 PM
I do think that it will happen. Well, I have been looking at the other industries startup market and seen that many have closed down already and when the market is too saturated for these AI/tech startups, for sure that many of them will have to close down because of how crowded the market is. 3 year span of time I think is already enough and we'll see that many of these will either continue and try to survive or will flourish and then the others to decide to close down. One thing is for sure with technology, these that are currently seeing to be amazed with their development. If they don't do better in the upcoming years, they may be obsolete and a newer tech will come.
2066  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Without money, the knowledge is a waste on: June 16, 2023, 09:35:23 PM
Well, that's a strong thought that many will disagree. While it's true that if you don't have money then you're wasting the opportunity but if you've got no money and you've got the knowledge, the only thing that's wasted is the opportunity to buy but the knowledge will remain.
We've got different scenarios that we're facing at the same time and that's why some in trials, while those that are able should be thankful that they're able to DCA or buy when they want to.

when such a person doesn't have any more to buy rather than seeking ways to buy?
Exactly, we need to find ways on how we're going to acquire money and how we'll earn so that the money that we'll earn from those sources will be used for investing in Bitcoin but not at all times.
2067  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance leaves Netherlands on: June 16, 2023, 01:03:53 PM
Are such legislations applied according to the Dutch passport or according to the IP addresses? If the ban was according to the IP address, it is easy to claim to the support team that I have moved to another place, even if it was according to the passport, it does not seem logical.
Much likely through IP address. It's possible that you can reason that you've moved out of the Netherlands and you're not covered by their policy leaving the country but I guess you'll be subjected to another series of KYC to prove that.

Starting from Canada and now Netherlands it appears that before the end of the year we will have a list of countries where Binance has failed to comply with regulatory standards.
Yeah and there's still a hot issue that they're going on against the US' SEC.

The regulatory bodies are not letting Binance to continue providing their service in those countries. Although, Binance has been doing very well for the crypto users and specially the traders, but now the odds are against them and they might leave many other countries in fear of getting accused.
It's possible that they really can't meet what's being asked for the license/VASP. But one big reason is that it is, the regulators are being hard on them and won't allow to be on their jurisdictions operating with their own market. Hopefully, more reasons to come out coming from Binance themselves.
2068  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin is legalized, a dream of mine would come true on: June 16, 2023, 11:07:44 AM
If Bitcoin was legalized in Bangladesh, I would take a payment system through Bitcoin with a pizza restaurant.
Who knows if one day there will be a change with that decision?

But my dreams will remain dreams because Bitcoin will never be legalized by the government in my country.
You can still continue with other dreams of yours or why not make your own restaurant soon and when the tide has turned and becomes favorable to Bitcoin. Then, that's the time that you should be the one to adopt Bitcoin as payment with your own restaurant or with any business that you've got. You'll never know, time changes, people changes and even the government policies as well that some of them might change.
2069  Economy / Speculation / Re: [POLL] Should the Fed stop raising interest rates? on: June 15, 2023, 11:12:16 PM
Maybe based on their outlook on the economy, it's not yet time for them to decrease the rates or are they waiting for the next POTUS to come before doing actions that will entirely show a boost to the economy again? Right now, it's all tough and hard and as we deal with all of these. SEC is busy tackling with the exchanges that it's suing. Well, concerning the economy impact that they do, will there be another period of time somewhere in the next years that the inflation will be decreased thanks to them?
2070  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Crypto Earn Platform Haru Invest Freezes Withdrawals on: June 15, 2023, 09:09:24 PM
I have never heard of them but many exchanges does have this type of feature, the earning feature. Well, on this website they've got the highest up to 25% and that's high.

if there is no news about this platform in the next months, then the investors who lost money understood it's all gone. 25% annually is big, any business that is doing clean with such APY will shutdown. those who stake will be lucky to have gotten back their original deposits.

they have KYCed all the users in Haru, they know the details of everyone. if no one there poses a threat to Haru staff, they'd pull the rug.
That seems where it is going and if there have been a bunch of people deposited it there and have been attracted to what they're offering, that's sad to say that they have to be prepared mentally before hearing the announcement about those pending withdrawals and current deposits that are in there. There's already a sign that they'll run away with the balances because why they need to delete their socials?
2071  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware of Pig Butchering Scam! on: June 15, 2023, 12:38:48 PM
I didn't know that's how it's called. But I think most of the old forum members here are aware of that scam and especially when it's like that they've been using Vitalik through those tweets and having that script of "send me this, I'll send you xx back".
While many newcomers gets in to the market without any background and knowledge, this will never get old so thank you for that reminder OP as many folks will see this thread and hopefully that they'll see it since there's the "scam" word on the title for which adds more interest on a thread especially those that are researching for something like this.
2072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interested in investing in Bitcoin my childhood friend after losing business on: June 15, 2023, 08:14:08 AM
For several days now my friend has been asking me for some advice. Telling me that he wants to invest some of his money, telling me where to invest it. My friend works in a private company and he has saved some money from there. With that money they went into business in a four person partnership, initially he made some profit in the business then he suffered some financial loss. My friend knows that I am involved with Bitcoin. He got some ideas about Bitcoin from me. So he wants to invest money in Bitcoin.
Yes, you should advise him to invest in Bitcoin but give him the pros and cons of investing without knowing it first. Being transparent and tell him your experiences which will speak for you.

I didn't tell him anything about the risk of investing. Since he wants to invest, should I advise him to invest?
Then, that's the start and you should tell him the risk of investing and since he's into a business before. He surely know that investing into such or any investment or asset bears risk. You just have to explain to him how volatile Bitcoin is and then let him all do the decision making after you explain it to him.
2073  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Centralized vs. Decentralized Exchanges: Which is Right for You? on: June 14, 2023, 11:12:51 PM
In general, a good comparison between centralized exchanges and decentralized exchanges, but I do not agree with you that the fees on decentralized exchanges are cheaper, the fees on the Ethereum network are much higher than the fees on the centralized exchanges and annoying, the fees on the Binance network can be lower.

But in general, the disadvantages of centralized exchanges make them so far unable to replace centralized exchanges.
That's what stops me from using the decentralized exchanges. I've come across when the time of trading ERC20 tokens is like one of things that I do and I'm stuck on doing the transaction or not doing it. If I don't do it, I'll have to wait without knowing how long should I wait and if I do it, I'll have to pay and ignore the fees and I did it. Good thing that many of those known altcoins now can also be found in other chains like in BEP20/BSC which makes the fees lower.

For me, I prefer decentralized exchanges that protect privacy, do not enforce KYC, and do not ban users based on IP.
Me either but convenience is stronger on this one for me.
2074  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'am a newbie on: June 14, 2023, 07:33:42 PM
Honestly, I'm still afraid of violating the rules and getting banned. I know there are many members who got banned, but I don't know what they did wrong
There is nothing to be afraid of since you've got links about the guides in the forum and for you to avoid those violations which will result of being banned, you already have it and you just need to remember not to do it. Just make yourself familiar with those guides and rules so that you'll avoid them if you think that you're about to do it. Otherwise, you're doing fine as long as you'll never attempt to do any of those that's listed on the Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ.
2075  Economy / Speculation / Re: How high will Bitcoin rise, or fall, in 2023? on: June 14, 2023, 05:37:44 PM
We've been into crises since the pandemic and with war and now everything has been collapsing and inflation rates are increasing. Bitcoin was there when all of those happened and we've seen the 2021 in the midst of these crises and yet Bitcoin performed very well.
We only see the current price of Bitcoin but we don't look at how it performed while being in the midst of those situations. Next year, we've got two important events, the halving and the election in the US. I know that it's not connected to the two but if it's about leadership, we might see some movements again by that year. So if it's about the rise or fall for this year, we'll never know.
2076  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What could make an exchange to seize users assets on: June 14, 2023, 03:28:06 PM
Since exchanges have begun blocking funds also on the basis of how “clean” they "think" bitcoins are or not, it has become increasingly dangerous to use centralized exchanges. They strive to make users afraid to withdraw funds to their wallets at all, so that later their coins will not be recognized as "dirty". They don't just want to get all our bitcoins and manage them themselves, they want to intimidate users into not wanting to get bitcoins outside of centralized exchanges (where it's not real bitcoins). Real bitcoins are only inside the bitcoin blockchain and nowhere else. And centralized exchanges are trying to gain control over real bitcoins with their division of bitcoins, but they still won’t succeed!
Yeah, definitely they won't succeed. They may put some burden and problems that many are going to be skeptic of what bitcoin is and they'll drop it down because the regulators and even the exchanges are implementing strict policies towards users. Another thing is, if they want a customer to freeze their funds, they'll do no matter what the reason is. They can always tell a lie and a thousand reasons why they're doing that because they've got policies that couldn't be disclosed to the users as there's always the pressure behind their back made by the regulators.
2077  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kids and Bitcoin on: June 14, 2023, 01:23:43 PM
My question is where can I buy Bitcoin comic books that can catch the attention of children between the age of 7 to 11? I want something in comic or story book style and with full story about Bitcoin or related... I want to buy and wrap them up for the surprises.
(....)
These videos will surely help those children that you're going to talk about Bitcoin. It's much easier to learn if there are visuals and graphics that they can see while hearing what the discussion is all about. There are more of them so while you're still searching for those books or comics or any material that you plan to have, you can have a watch party with them through these videos and there's a lot more. That's only few from the many that's existing on these streaming websites.
I agree with this, these days now we are now modern, and most households now already have an internet connection and you can now easily access a lot of materials, especially cartoons which are famous for kids, which now is already available online via video or some e-books.
So for me, watching video cartoons about Bitcoin for kids is also best alternative.
It's a good introduction to them, they'll have an idea on what they've received if ever OP has already given them the gift of those books and strips that's mainly discussing Bitcoin. Visuals and storytelling will make it easy for them to realize and understand what Bitcoin is and why they've been given that as a gift. We knew it because we've been once a kid and these videos are interesting in our eyes especially if those visuals are tackling things that we don't know yet so, I hope that OP will also consider that and it's not gonna cost a lot of money on him.

I suggest have them watch some YouTube videos

I completely agree with you, today, cartoons or videos is the best educational instrument. It was our generation that read book, current generation prefer gadgets and if we want to teach them something unusual, we must play on their rules.

No matter how interesting book is, a simple offer «lets go read a book» or «lets go I will read you a book» isnt accepted. While reading, kid will be «flying away, dreaming» and thinking what he would do first when he get his mobile or tablet.
That's right, it's better to let them have some idea first if he's gonna give him a book or comics strip that's related to bitcoin so that they'll at least have an idea on what they're reading before accepting the gift. And these video materials are for free and they'll easily understand it because it's in the form of a cartoon and video.

I think what @tabas shared is clear enough with the cartoon videos that are made and you can easily click and let your siblings watch easily on YouTube instead of comics having to buy first, but it depends on your decision whether it is in the form comics or other stories that are on the Internet.
Yeah, it's still up to him on what type of strategy he's going to make if he wants to educate these kids about Bitcoin. Giving them the idea would suffice so that they'll enjoy the gift that he's about to give.

OP, it may be worth deleting your quoted post as well, as you unwittingly become a distributor of what you are now complaining about.
As long as these topics were deleted by the moderators, then you should not tempt with this quoted post those who want to take a chance and do not believe in your warning.
I agree, OP you should edit the quoted post or just remove it since you've dropped the profile of the one that keeps on posting that trick/scam as it looks interesting for some newbies to "try and test" it and nothing is gonna be gone to them until they become a victim of this scam.

It's a cheap old trick, but  yeah, still new to newbies I believe.
This revolves in almost websites where they can get victims and even in social medias. I doubt it that the profile will leave the forum, he might just make a new account and do this again when no one is noticing it and he's kind of lie low after these posts.
