2081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it really that bad with Bitcoin as Mike Hearn writes now? on: January 15, 2016, 02:03:58 PM
You're passing misinformation, he did not "advocate blacklisting", that was once discussed has a way to prevent the fraud and theft, after discussed it was dismissed because it could not be implemented.
I'm not sure what you've been reading these past few years, but he did. There was even a decently sized thread about it on the forums.

Iknow, I've followed it, that's ancient history...

2083  Bitcoin / Press / Re: Very bad news for bitcoin any thoughts? on: January 15, 2016, 01:53:58 PM
He just brought to light what is being censored for long time and onbly some of us have been following, the majority of bitcoin users don't know what's been happening with the development.

Current bitcoin development is impeding bitcoin's growth.

Exactly, most users are not aware of all the background, and don't want to be.

Problem being as btc is totally uncontrolled, anything can happen...

And here's an example:

Mike is a dope and let the door hit him on the way out... after Pushing XT so hard I gave up on him.

Ahhh, so he's an XT dev? That explains the attitude, I have no idea why if they didn't believe in the project they just went ahead and make their own fork and altcoin. but then again that might take hard work instead of just trying to hijack Bitcoin's reputation like so many of them do.
2084  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it really that bad with Bitcoin as Mike Hearn writes now? on: January 15, 2016, 12:02:41 PM
What he wrote is mostly manipulative propaganda and lies. The answer to your question is no. Bitcoin is doing fine and is better off without such immature people like Hearn. He was unable to get his way with XT and so he decides to backstab everyone how lovely.

But at the same time, can you really blame him for leaving a community in general that has been that hostile to him? I mean I can empathize with that, personally.
Good point, he did quit is job at Google to work full time bitcoin development...
That's not a good point. What did you expect is going to happen when you advocate blacklisting? He deserved much worse than what the community threw at him and now he has proven it.

You're passing misinformation, he did not "advocate blacklisting", that was once discussed has a way to prevent the fraud and theft, after discussed it was dismissed because it could not be implemented.
2085  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jeff Garzik is supporting bitcoin classic - @theymos: kill him! on: January 15, 2016, 11:59:01 AM
Where did theymos say that Jeff Garzik must be killed? The policy on Bitcoin reddit is clear, any altcoin discussion doesn't belong in the Bitcoin reddit, specially if it's XT 2.0. This should be pretty clear in 2016 to be honest.

There is no official this, official that.

The longest chain wins. If the network can use it and vote on it, its not an altcoin. Its a choice.

Didn't you get the memo?

Bitcoin is what theymos says it is.
2086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bad Day for Bitcoin. Cryptsy finally admitted theft and Mike Hearn tells truth on: January 15, 2016, 11:38:17 AM
Turns out the biggest menace to Bitcoin aren't governments, banks or shady intelligence organizations, but from its own development.

Bitstamp.net, bitfinex.com, kraken.com and coinbase.com, these are probably the best exchanges around, enjoy.
2089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alternate Coins on: January 15, 2016, 11:24:26 AM
People invest in altcoins for the same reason they invest in bitcoin, with the expectation the value will go up and make a shit load of money with it.
2090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin is Dead" - Mike Hearn on: January 15, 2016, 10:59:00 AM
Whenever I read some one is saying that Bitcoin is "dead", then it just shows that these people have no idea what they are talking about. Let the dude leave and work on shitty altcoin projects. The more people say Bitcoin is going to fail, the more I keep believing in its future. Something that grows to unseen levels has a lot enemies, and it shows....

The original bitcoin has failed, whatever bitcoin is becoming is not what it was envisioned by its creator, the original project Mike worked on is no longer.

Satoshi left and other people took over the project. It's not a surprise that it's not going in the exact direction that Satoshi had in mind. You have to deal with different people and all these people may disagree with each other on several important subjects, take the blocksize drama as example. I am happy to see where Bitcoin is standing right now, all these shills will attempt to disrupt things with their fud, but they will always lose.

Then these people should make their own altcoin, not hijack bitcoin's development and turn bitcoin into their own altcoin.

It's reasonable that all of us who bought into bitcoin because of its original vision to feel betrayed when seeing what it is being turned into, much more for someone like Mike who gave 5 years of his life to this project.

Millions of dollars stolen and there's not even one police agency to make a report to?

WOW, just WOW!

2095  Other / Meta / Re: Whats the deal with Theymos? on: January 14, 2016, 10:48:15 AM
Gavin Andresen, Mike Hearn and Jeff Garzik are developing bitcoin pretty much since the beginning, why would they want to harm bitcoin? Where did you get that idea from?
Gavin CIA, Hearn banks and whatnot? Did you forget when Hearn was advocating for blacklists? I sure have not. Garzik seems okay for now. I could list many more reasons, but I'm not on my machine right now. There are many threads in this very forum, especially about Hearn (use the search function).

Dude, seriously?
2096  Other / Meta / Re: Whats the deal with Theymos? on: January 14, 2016, 09:58:17 AM
Because bitcoin is what he says it is, any other proposals for scaling bitcoin cannot be discussed under his domain and should be considered altcoins, because that's how a decentralized technology works.
Wrong. They aren't proposals, they are programmed altcoins. A proposal for example is SegWit while XT/BU/Classic are not proposals. You are being influenced by the very people that are trying to harm Bitcoin.

This^

And I don't think Internet access is very good there...
2099  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So...bitcoin is now a national currency on: January 13, 2016, 03:13:10 PM
That's very interesting and good to hear.
What I am wondering is why no large news sites wrote about this. It is clear to me the media are against bitcoin.

No one wrote about it because it's bullshit!

Just read from the second page...
