Any details about Mining Pools will be really appreciated. How many FAIL left to be mined?

OP is (always) up-to-date, even on translated threads. Currently I can't answer on how much coins are left to be mined. We are discussing some things atm...
2082  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FAILCoin | NEW BETA WALLETS! | EmpoEx | Cryptocloudhosting on: November 18, 2015, 08:21:45 PM
Sorry to hear that. Don't worry FAIL has supporters like me. Can I still mine Failcoin? Scrypt/SHA

Sure, but scrypt only.
2083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FAILCoin | NEW BETA WALLETS! | EmpoEx | Cryptocloudhosting on: November 18, 2015, 04:40:12 PM
Am I still looking at the old thread? Why I don't see Failcoin on coinmarket cap anymore? Spartak?

Hey, jaipagare,

Because there are no trades recently. Don't worry - our work continues.

Cheers,
Spartak

Supporting something without money, whales and/or pump & dump schemes is extremely hard. I understand you completely! The only thing you can do is to attract some attention. Be more social (Facebook, Twitter), tweet more often about your plans. Eventually some serious investors may believe in you and then your work will be priced more as it is now.

P.S. Whoever wants may retweet: http://twitter.com/FAILCommunity/status/659665660977553408
2085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHIFT] 1st ETH fork | UPDATE v0.4.0 | GUI WALLET on: October 27, 2015, 07:44:29 AM
In marketing you have to put your money where your mouth is. Don't expect the marketers to see things in the same light nor try to pay them with something today worth very little and expect them to hope that it becomes valuable one day. It matters not what you have, the only thing that matters is the price it is that day.

The best Crypto Marketer is Lisa Cheng of Vanbex. They probably charge $3-$5k a month with no guarantees. However she produces results.  If you want a team that produces results for a lot less Vindyne8 (John) is who you need to talk to. I would recommend using both. Although you will never find anyone better than fellow team members or community members that are die hard enthusiasts to market for you.

Community members can use or build their twitter accounts up or create Retweet accounts and really get the word out. The Tweets might seem redundant but its that way for a reason because a serious volley creates memories in the unconverted and leads to either them researching further or that 'I can't get that song out of my head' effect which both are positive for the message because either way the person at least remembers the message.

Well written articles are important. If your a geek make sure not to write like one, just let it flow and source the important data through links or footnotes instead of trying to explain it. Making or getting included in a viral documentary or film that is guerrilla marketed free without charge is great along with Film Festivals. Even if your film places last at least it was viewed, sometimes around the world.

The Twitter Accounts for this here are sparse. Thats probably best for the official account but even thats not certain. I put together a SHIFT ReTweet Account @SHIFT_RTs https://twitter.com/SHIFT_RTs and will try to do my best to retweet the material on this plus my main account. I only retweet two other coins that I am involved with and like. I rarely retweet anything else unless its a one time favor. I focus only on what is important, what I like and believe in and what benefits me. I also have no problem pulling the chute and bailing out if the plane is going to crash.

I am going to get some GPUs and buy some SHIFT if and when I can. Plus ReTweet what is put out from official or trusted sources regarding SHIFT. There will be a documentary made for next years Film Festivals. I was part of a film crew in 2011 that made a documentary that has had millions of views, voted most viewed film on PBS National in 2011 and sells on iTunes today. My friend in New Mexico wants to get involved in Crypto and has agreed to work another project. He is the shit when it comes to films- http://thefilmmakerschannel.com if things work out SHIFT along with 2 other CryptoCurrencies including Bitcoin could possibly be covered within a 50 minute time frame format or well done short film.

I think there is something here. I have been planning this in my head for a while. If this ends up working for me I will be stoked. If anyone needs to contact me just send a PM. I am not one to get into long explanations or FUD sessions in forums. Lets see how this goes. You guys are all doing an amazing job here. Its an exciting place to be right now.

That's like one of the worse advices I have ever heard in here. I agree that Twitter is vital for every coin's (or asset etc..) success, but not because some people are spamming about it, but because its a place where some important people can notice you. If you make some research for like 3 mins, you will find that Lisa Cheng and Vanbex Twitter accounts has less than 4k followers combined. They doesn't seem to tweet a lot either. I'm not saying that they are not working, but for like $3-5k/month I think that they can do better. I have talked with Vindyne8 several times and I think he is a nice guy, but he is promoting just about every coin that pays. Nothing wrong with that, but by "just about every coin" I mean literally 100s of coins, no matter if the coin is called TurboGoatBitcoin or whatever. As you all know success rate of such coins is not very good... not to mention that they are not serious.

SHIFT guys are not Ethereum (which Lisa Cheng seems to support) and they don't have millions of $ to support it. Cryptocurrencies are about technology, but they have also turned into something from which certain people are just making money of. They don't care about their future at all. Your advice is to pay to some people, which will work for you, but there is no passion involved in that. The best thing you can do here is to earn the respect and love of the people. They will then invest in you and will protect their investment. It is always extremely hard (especially in the past 1-2 years) thing to achieve, but that is how things should work when we are talking about technology.

Kudos to the new wallets! Cheesy

Kudos to you my korean friend as you are great guy and asset to FAIL. Smiley We are going to pull this through!

P.S. Some of you may still don't know, but Bitcoin is now officially VAT free in Europe. Personally I expect $~300 price pretty soon! Great time for cryptocurrencies!!!
2087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FAILCoin | NEW BETA WALLETS | EmpoEx | Cryptocloudhosting on: October 22, 2015, 10:52:32 AM
Dear FAILers,

We have some news for you:

1. Our work on the new FAIL wallet was stopped for a while, but it now continues. We have something like Beta wallet ready, and it was tested from about 7 people. Some issues on x32 Vista OS were reported, but it seems that they are not from the wallet itself. That is why we think that it is now safe to use the new wallet (despite the fact its not with all the planned features). Here are the links to the wallets:

Windows X32 Version   Windows X64 Version

If you have downloaded and installed the wallet, you can see that there are Tabs, which should pick up specific hashtags on Twitter. Currently only News tab is working (its picking #FAILnews hashtag). Others (such as #FAILcontests and #FAILcompetitions) will be ready in near future. FAIL goal is to be used on social networks and YouTube as a rewarding cryptocurrency, no matter if it is for some FAIL vines/compilations competitions, pranks, donations to some cause, or just like a tip to someone. YouTube tab should contain our YouTube channel, which will be filled with content, once we have our grounds (fully working wallet) ready.

2. UltraFRS, qiwoman2 and yogg were removed from the team, because of inactivity. We thank them for their contribution! Some of you are probably aware about how we are trying to work, but I will explain it again. People in FAIL team are working only for FAIL coins and we are trying to build something without using mercenaries. You can imagine how hard it is nowadays since a lot of people lost their trust in cryptocurrencies. You can also imagine how hard is to pay and work for something, which currently is practically worthless, though we are not giving particular price to FAILCoin - we support the idea of it. FAIL started as a mock to 100s of coins, which were released (and continuing to be released) with the only idea to benefit their creators. Since then we are trying to make it a better example for cryptocurrency, where people behind it are not involved because of the few BTC they can earn. We are also avid supporters of cryptocurrencies in general and that is why we are going to work for their better adoption. FAIL idea is not to make few people rich - it is to spread the word about cryptocurrencies, and we think that social networks and video channels is the best way to do it, because they have billions of users. As we said it number of times before - if we assume that Bitcoin is the movie industry, FAIL can be its comedy genre.

3. We are continuing to pay about the 7 VPS's, which we rented about 6 months ago, but once this month is over, we are going to reduce them to 3. They will be located in USA, Europe and Asia.

4. FAIL block reward should halve from 12 to 6 coins in less than a 2000 blocks. It seems that halving will occur earlier than predicted, but it is because of the low difficulty.

5. Finally I would like to THANK to Anthony from EmpoEX exchange, halibit from alcurEX exchange and ocminer - the owner of Suprnova pools. They continue to support our pairs and mining pool, despite the fact that there are currently almost no trades and miners. We are going to try to change that. It will be extremely hard, but we are in for the challenge... ALWAYS!

Thank you kindly for your time,
Spartak

Hi

Any Bitcoin meetups going on now in Bulgaria? I am thinking to relocate there.

Thanks

There are a lot of people dealing with Bitcoin in Bulgaria, but personally I haven't heard about meetups.

Hey, FAILers,

We are going to use different logo on FAILCommunity. What do you think about this one?

Cheers,

2090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FAILCoin | IMPORTANT NEWS! | EmpoEx | Cryptocloudhosting on: October 10, 2015, 11:22:48 AM
Hi, there where a news for support price of FailCoin on Empoex or Other Exchange?

Thanks

Hello,

We are waiting until main FAIL dev finishes the new wallet. Until then we will take no actions. So far we are paying for the 7 VPS's, domain and github, and we are waiting. After the new wallet is ready and we make sure it is working properly, we will start developing FAILCommunity (Twitter and YouTube mainly). The idea is FAILCoin to become viral in socials.

P.S. Actually yesterday I've been playing with new FAILCommunity logo. I will show it to you guys and I hope that you can share your opinions.

Cheers,
Spartak

2091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHIFT] 1st ETH fork | UPDATE v0.4.0 | GUI WALLET on: October 08, 2015, 11:23:00 AM
I can't understand why miners are selling at these low prices. I don't know what are the prices for electricity around the world, but here kW/h is about $0,10. PC with R280X (which was given as example) will have power consumption of about 400-450W/h. If we assume that power consumption is 400W, and the price is $0.10/kWh, then your monthly electricity bill will be ~$29. The "profit" for mining SHIFT is about $1,17/day per GPU (at 0.00004 BTC price). It's better to mine it like 2-3 months, gather some 10k coins, pay $90 for electricity and just wait. Otherwise your "profit" is like $2/month and for those $2 your PC must run 24/7, raping your GPU. Smiley

That's a good move. Currently Poloniex has x3 the volume of Bittrex and Cryptsy. If they list SHIFT it will surely bring more attention and liquidity.

That's great.

P.S. It will be better if you first update the OP before the announcement.
P.S.2. Probably news section in the OP (at least until the website is finished) would be good.

Cheers,
2094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHIFT] 1st ETH fork | UPDATE v0.4.0 | GUI WALLET on: October 04, 2015, 07:47:42 PM
You guys are forgetting how long did take for the Ethereum to be released as it is. What if PoS takes 1 more year or it is impossible to implement in current environment? Who do you think will wait for so long? Decreasing block reward will also decrease inflation and day-by-day dumping, but it will also decrease security, which is totally unacceptable for a project who pretends to be serious.

While SHIFT core devs are working (on whatever....), the coin itself needs marketing. It's that simple.

Pretends to be serious? Sorry sir, we have different view on how things should be handled. You are not the only one who have big experience of cryptos, that i can assure you. Do not pretend to be the only one who knows how to handle SHIFT, try to stay humble, i know the SHIFT team will. By acting superior will get you no where, although i respect your advice and we will of course take it into consideration.

Humble Regards

By "pretends to be serious" I didn't mean you are not acting professional and I wasn't trying to offend you or acting like smartass. I just gave you a hint that reducing block reward at current situation (let's face it - at the moment you guys are holding like 30% of entire supply and yet there are no real plans (at least they were not presented in details in front of the people in here)) will be probably a coin-killer. Why? Because if you really want to play in "long term", then you must be aware that this will not affect the price of the coin in short term, because it will not create demand... it will only reduce miners, therefore security (hashrate) and interest from newcomers.

You don't care about the price and believe me - I fully understand that, because I don't care either (for any given coin and if there are clear plans about it's future), but this is also a business in some way. When someone create a product (or clone it... whatever - that doesn't really matter), then this guy/s must take responsibility about it's future development. If you don't have the time for other things than tech development, then you can search for guys who have the time and are willing to work for the SHIFT itself - not about the BTC they can earn tomorrow, in one week or in 10 years (at least this is the way I see it, when people here say that they care about cryptocurrencies and are not just some mercenaries).

How about we talk about some real stuff now?

You asked if it's okay to reduce the block reward? In my eyes that means you are worried about the price, despite you are not saying it. Maybe with reducing the block reward you want to win some time and avoid a situation, in which the coin is dumped to like 10 satoshi, until you announce/launch something significant you have in mind. Maybe you really want to reduce inflation (which imho sounds unserious giving the circumstances).

With that said, I want to clarify that I am not pretending to know (or foresee) everything about SHIFT, or try to regulate your work. This is a forum, where anybody by presumption can expres his opinion. At the end, this is your project and is up to you whether to take some opinions into consideration or accept it as trolling. Smiley

Best regards,
Spartak

Community is something, which practically does not longer exist. More than 80-90% of the people here care only about the current price and the profit that they could make.... as fast as they can. Nobody is asking for you to work on everything I mentioned, but you have premined coins, which you can use. SHIFT is your baby and it is you who must know to where it will be headed. Therefore you should think on some things, which are not related with tech development. Examples:
"We need to spread the word more so I must hire PR guy/s."
"I can't always answer to questions so it will be probably better if we have community manager."

etc... etc...

The days, when people actually tried to protect their investments and offered their help to some coins are pretty much over. Everybody is asking for money and that's it. If you wait for someone to take the initiative you will be very much disappointed. That's the simple truth...

Cheers,
Spartak

Although, you must understand that make something based on ethereum to enable PoS is easier said than done. Ask the ethereum team.

I am aware of that, but in this world, when you actually try to work it's never easy. I am in this "game" too and I know what I'm talking about. Smiley
In short term, I think the best decision for you is to be more transparent with the premine and spread the word about SHIFT (articles, merchants, games).
Technology was never the main part of cryptoworld - it's adoption. There are 10s (if not 100s) of coins better than Bitcoin, but....
2098  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHIFT] 1st ETH fork | UPDATE v0.4.0 | GUI WALLET on: October 03, 2015, 03:03:45 PM
Next release will have a modified blockreward. Instead of 3 SHF it will become 1 SHF. We would like to hear the communitys thoughts about this.

Regards

You want to prolong the mining period and reduce dumping from miners?

Reduce inflation, yes.

I think that such step will have more negative than positive impact.
The price of the coin must rise a lot, otherwise miners will not be attracted to mine the coin and therefore the network will not be secured very well.
While I think that mining is fun, my opinion is that your best choice will be to make SHIFT full PoS with something like 3% interest.
